I hadn't been to the dentist in about 5 years due to being uninsured, and also #life. The staff was very friendly when I called to make my first appointment. Once there, my hygienist was so thorough, and it felt like she was not judging me and actually cared about helping me. Dr. Skidmore stopped in to check things out and there was surprisingly nothing of great concern, other than getting back to finish up my way overdue cleaning. They even helped me out on pricing as I'm still uninsured and I really appreciated the compassion with every interaction. Absolutely a pleasure being a patient of Dr. Skidmore. He and his staff are so accommodating, caring and very friendly. I've had trouble in town finding a solid dentist and knowledgable staff. Well, no more and have been a patient for 2+ years. Very happy. A review is LONG overdue here and I must convey my most recent experience. In early December '25. 5-days out lengthy overseas vacation, my front tooth shattered, very ugly and a showstopper. I would not be able to travel looking like I did. I suspected I was doomed and would need to revamp my itinerary. In a panic state, I called the office and they were able to get me in less than 1-hour for an exam. The Staff greeted me with kindness and care, as usual, immediately put me to ease. Dr. Skidmore developed a plan and indicated that I would be able to make my departure. The Staff had to do some shifting around of existing appointments and found a way to get me into their existing tight, end-of-the-year, schedule. In no time, Dr. Skidmore was able to get me up and running. The Dr. and Staff took the extra time to make sure the fit was right and cosmetically, appearance matched and was aligned to the neighboring front tooth. Perfect. Thankfully, I was able to make my flight and avoid costly flight and hotel rebooking. Lightning fast with quality care. So damn impressed as everyone went above and beyond. Don't go here if you have Tricare. I was told they checked with my insurance it would cost $350 to get my fillings redone. AT NO POINT was I informed that I would be billed for an additional $250 weeks after getting the procedure done and paying in full at the time of the appointment. If anyone had told me the $350 *may* not be the real cost and that the real total will end up being closer to $600, I would have said "no". $600 to get a few fillings redone and that's WITH insurance? That is insane. It never ceases to amaze me how insurance and practices are allowed to operate this way. read more

I needed extensive dental work for many years. I had work done somewhere else and had a lot of complications healing after having several extractions so i wanted to find a new dentist. Dr. Skidmore was recommended to me by my mother in law so I thought Id give him a chance. Everyone that works here is extremely nice and always making sure you feel comfortable. You can tell Dr. Skidmore is not there just to grab your cash and go he gives you all the options available to you for what you need and what you can afford. A lot of people are worried about dental pain during procedures like fillings and root canals and i have to say he did a fantastic job numbing me and making sure he waited till it was fully effective to start working and to make sure it didn't wear off. I came in thinking id be losing most if not all my top teeth and he had managed to save all of them but 2. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

It had been way too long since I had been to the dentist. I live about an hour away but am always willing to drive for a good dentist that doesnt give me anxiety. Like so many others, I have some horrible experiences at the dentist. However, Dr Skidmore and his staff are AMAZING! The woman who works at the front desk is so kind and never makes you feel she is too busy to answer questions. Dr Skidmore and his Staff are truly the BEST! So glad I found them! Very professional and friendly. I hadn't been to a dentist in a while but broke a molar that had to be taken care of so I was forced by fate to find a dentist. I heard good things about Dr Skidmore and his staff on the neighborhood ring chat so I called and was able to get a consultation the next day. Everyone was great, the entire staff has a positive energy and Dr Skidmore has a very calm professional vibe that put me at ease. I ultimately wound up choosing to have the broken tooth extracted. (Will probably opt to get an implant sometime in the future. ) They were also able to do a cleaning prior to the extraction. My mouth now feels amazing and although having teeth extracted is never a pleasant experience, I am almost glad I broke my tooth because it led me to this Awesome group of professionals. I brought my 15 year old daughter in to get a second opinion from Dr. Skidmore. Her previous dentist told us she needed a root canal and had 6 cavities! Dr. Skidmore was nice enough to take a look at her X-rays & told us she did not have 6 cavities, she had 1! She did not need a root canal. He was able to do her filling (her first one) and it went great. The hygienist was also super sweet and made my daughter feel comfortable. I had never been here, but I was calling and emailing around to find someone who could see me ASAP. I didn't have a dentist in the area. Since this place had good reviews, I emailed them for an appointment because it was after business hours, and they unexpectedly responded immediately. I had a cosmetic dental emergency and they were able to fit me in quickly and resolve the problem much faster than anyone else would have. The work the dentist did was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. I had two crowns and two veneers put on my four upper front teeth and I have a brand new smile. It looks better than I knew was possible. Because of the urgency of the situation, I didn't have time to shop around for the best price, but come to find out the total cost was a lot less than I was expecting, so they probably did have the best price. They gained a new patient. I am scheduled to do a deep cleaning next. The deep cleaning is cheaper than a dentist I saw a few months prior who refused to do any work on me until I paid him $1000 for a deep cleaning, plus the $200 I paid him just to tell me that. Dr. Skidmore's office charges less for a deep cleaning and they didn't force me to do it first before anything else. They gave me a choice and since the first experience was so good, I decided to schedule it. Also, I am an adult chicken when it comes to the dentist and the doctor and his staff were patient and had excellent bedside manners. read more

I just got back from Dr. Skidmore's office and had to leave a review. I am a first grade teacher living in San Diego about 40 miles away from this office. I heard about him from a friend and saw the amazing results, so I decided to get in touch with him. Mind you, I have been looking for a good cosmetic dentist for years. He did a virtual consult, which I'm sure took a lot of time out of his already busy day. He emailed back and forth answering all my questions as soon as I sent them too! Not only is Dr. Skidmore extremely accommodating to my headache of a schedule, but he remembered the next time I went in and just did everything in one visit for me, so I didn't have to take more time off finding a substitute teacher and driving back from San Diego. I am somewhat fearful of the dentist, so I was nervous, but once he got to work (he redid five of my crowns for aesthetic purposes and took molds for whitening) I was at ease. It was painless and I honestly could have fallen asleep. Hailey was the dental assistant/hygienist that helped and she was so kind and thorough answering all of my questions. The front office was super helpful and accommodating as well. I previously worked at a cosmetic clinic and did medical billing, so I understand the headache that my insurance/out of pocket bill PLUS my crazy schedule made for them. Stay clear of this dental office! The staff is either uneducated or are purposefully withholding information. The people who work here were mean girls in highschool. They will give you expired products. If you choose this dental office you will also have a terrible experience. My terrible experience with Dr. Skimdores office is in regards to getting my teeth whitened. I made an appointment over the phone and the first person I talked to said that you can't just come in and get your teeth whitened. You have to take home trays with whitening serum for 2 weeks and then go in and get them whitened. (Other dental offices don't do this)  But I went along and made the appointment. I go in for my appointment to get the trays.  First, I was in the chair waiting to start for over 10 minutes because the assistants were gossiping in the back. I could very clearly hear them.  Then the assistant who did the scans didn't talk to me or explain what was happening. Conveniently,  the machine went into low power mode and wouldnt show the scans that were just taken. Mind you, the assistant didn't tell me what was happening, she just talked to her co-worker about it so I had to eavesdrop. A 15 minute appointment took almost an entire hour. When I was told I could leave, I asked where my trays were and was told I had to come back in a week for them. I was never told that it would take three appointments for the whitening. One for the scan, second for the trays, third for the in house service. My husband came and got the trays a week later. We opened up the instructions and saw that you have to wear the trays THE ENTIRE NIGHT for 2 weeks in a row. Not one of the 3 people that I spoke to throughout the process said that you needed to wear the whitening trays, at night or for even the entire night. Then I noticed the whitening serum was expired as of March of 2019. Not only had I received terrible customer service but now I needed to make an extra trip to Temecula to receive non-expired whitening serum. Not to mention the front desk girls and assistants are the girls that were bullies in highschool. Very cliquey mean girl vibes. As well, the office has absolute zero diversity. When you go on the website to "meet the team" the 8 girls shown with Dr. Skidmore are all blonde and white. As you scroll down, to see the other members of the team they are almost all white-passing women. Such a lack of diversity and a very toxic office culture. My entire experience was met with rude people, there was such a huge lack of information given and it was not a pleasant experience. I paid 500$ upfront to get my teeth whitened and this is what I was met with.. Stay clear of this dental office. read more

Well... I actually really liked this dentist but due to a scheduling error (caused by whomever scheduled our appointment), we were left SOL for our 6 month check up. No apology was offered. Their only solution was to reschedule us several months later. I'm very organized with my scheduling and wrote it down in my calendar while booking the apt. Today (2/20) marks 6 months from our last visit and they didn't have us in until next month on the 20th. Its very frustrating to be planning for this day, scheduling everything around it, get childcare, fighting rush hour traffic to get here and then this happens. I'm very sad to be leaving this dentist but we have no other choice but to find another dentist who doesn't treat their patients like this. Sorry Dr. Skidmore but your staff just lost you 2 patients. This review is coming 1 day after getting my root canal finished. I have been to this office 3 times. 1st was initial visit. 2nd was to begin the process, which unfortunately was interrupted by my severe pain (due to my mistake of waiting more than 4 years to fix this tooth and was of course very infected). 3rd yesterday. After my second visit I writhed in pain because of my infection, however the antibiotics prescribed to me by Dr. Skidmore worked so well that by day 4 I was feeling much better. By the time I went in yesterday the numbing process worked great and he was able to finish completely which includes the permanent crown I now have on. Alright, now I am going to explain why any of that matters. If you call Dr. Skidmore's office out of business hours and listen to the message completely, you are given a number to dial in case of emergency. Well, I may have panicked a few times when one tooth broke and another kept making me curl up in pain. Each time he responded. I am not saying this so everyone can call for no reason with questions etc. I am saying that when I felt these things happening weren't normal I reached out and he was the individual who responded. Never have I met a Dental Professional who gave such legitimate care. He was able to call in antibiotics for me that I am so greatful for. He answered my questions and never once made me feel bad for asking. Today I am finally out of pain for the first time in so long that I want to cry happy tears. Thank you Dr. Skidmore for everything! I also want to give his team a shout out because they are so professional and also never made me feel bad. His Assistant, Zerrina, had me laughing and forgetting I was having dental work done. It was an amazing experience from beginning to end. I will never go anywhere else. The office was amazing. I've been to two other offices and this surpassed them all. I was not waiting long for my appointment which is a rarity. I did X-rays, then seen by the MD, then hygienist. I love that they were quick since it's my day off and lots of errands to run ! No one wants to be sitting in an office all day ! Natalie was the hygienist. HIGHLY recommend her. I've had the gel (glue/ plastic? I dunno the proper name ) on my tooth and she's the only person that has noticed it ( besides me) ! She took the time to try and get it off. I have been going to Dr. Skidmore's since moving to Temecula in 2010. I couldn't be more satisfied. The office runs smoothly and my hygienist Jen is the very best! My entire family goes to see Dr. Skidmore. My mother drives up from San Diego. My 24 year old son has never had a cavity. In other words, he doesn't do unnecessary work because we have insurance. Dr. Skidmore is very handsome but back off ladies. He is married with 7 children. Nobody likes going to the dentist but I couldn't recommend Dr. Skidmore more highly - 5 stars!!! read more

After spending the last 2 years dodging Covid I decided it was time to see my Dentist after receiving an email from them suggesting that I come in for a cleaning. I had been a patient of Skidmore's for several years and even sent my employees there. Needless to say I've spent a few thousand with them. Today when I called to make an appointment I was told that I would first need to come in and be re-established as a customer and then they would put me on the schedule; period! It has been about a year since I went to Dr. Skidmore's office and I could not be more pleased with my whole experience and my decision to have the procedure with Dr. Skidmore. I had veneers put on my front four teeth. I had wanted the procedure for a very long time, since i had my braces taken off and i still was not pleased with my teeth, which resulted in me not wearing my retainer. I was very picky about which dentist i was comfortable going to, but when i saw before and after pictures from Dr. Skidmore, i really liked that his work still looked natural, something i was very worried about since i am still young and i was worried about doing something permanent to my smile. As soon as i started telling Dr. Skidmore what i wanted and my concerns, he was not pushy at all and was made me feel comfortable and answered all of my million questions. Everything went perfectly smooth and all of the staff was so nice and comforting. Dr. Skidmore made sure that we would work on my teeth as much as i wanted to make sure they are exactly what i wanted. However, as soon as i looked in the mirror when they were finished, i was so happy with them and wouldn't change a single thing. They are so natural looking, no one can tell i have veneers. Oddly, i have met dentists out and i always test them (because guys often lie about their jobs lol) and ask which teeth are veneers on me and not one of them have been able to say all four, which just proves how natural they look. I receive so many compliments on my teeth and smile now, i always say going to Dr. Skidmore and getting the procedure was the best thing i have ever done. The last picture is a before, which i had trouble finding because before i did not smile with my teeth as much. Called and made an appointment 2 weeks in advance (which was tough to do since I was told the Dr. is always taking vacations). I provided them my insurance information and asked them to verify that they accepted my network. The lady on the phone was very nice and told me if I didn't receive a call back, everything was good to go. On the day of the appointment and 2 hours prior to my appointment time, they finally called my insurance to verify and found out I was out of network coverage. When they finally called me to notify me that they did not accept my insurance, (2 hours before my appointment) I was given the excuse that they were too busy to do it before hand like they told me they would, and that they had always accepted my network but due to recent changes they did not. Extremely disappointed in the logistical operation of this dentist. Never mind I had a tooth ache and was now left searching for another dentist after waiting 2 weeks.
