After seeing all of the outstanding reviews and praise online, I was really looking forward to finally trying this restaurant. Unfortunately, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. Perhaps my expectations were simply too high, but the overall experience didn't quite live up to the hype for me. One of the restaurant's biggest advantages is its location. Although it's situated in a quieter part of Little Italy, there's plenty of street parking, and the restaurant also has its own parking lot--a huge plus in the neighborhood. Upon entering, you're greeted with the ambiance of an upscale Italian restaurant. The dining room is elegant and inviting, and our server, *Maci*, was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout the evening. The meal began with a complimentary basket of baguette-style bread served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar--a nice start but the bread itself was averate For appetizers, my wife and I shared the Baby Arugula Salad, which was average, and the Eggplant Parmesan, which was probably the standout dish of the evening. Our daughter ordered the Caprese Salad, which she enjoyed overall, although we all felt it was a bit too salty. For our entrées, my wife and I shared the Halibut. While it was prepared well, we both agreed it had a stronger "fishy" flavor than we expected. The accompanying baby potatoes, however, were excellent. Our daughter ordered the Ricotta and Black Truffle Stuffed Pasta. She enjoyed it, but found it to be richer and heavier than anticipated--she was expecting a lighter pasta dish. Dessert, unfortunately, was the biggest disappointment of the evening. We decided to try what appeared to be the restaurant's three signature desserts: Tiramisu - As soon as it arrived, our daughter commented that it looked unusually light in color, and she was right. It tasted much more like vanilla than coffee, lacking the bold espresso flavor we typically expect from a tiramisu. Cappuccino Chocolate Mousse - This was overwhelmingly sweet. I could only manage a couple of bites before it became too much. Hazelnut Bomb (the daily dessert special) - Despite its name, we couldn't detect much hazelnut flavor at all. It tasted more like a rich chocolate dessert than anything distinctly hazelnut. Before ordering, we asked if the kitchen could prepare smaller tasting portions so the three of us could sample all three desserts without wasting food. The request was declined. I completely understand why the restaurant may not accommodate special requests like that, but I do wish they offered a dessert tasting option. As it turned out, we ended up leaving more than half of each dessert untouched. Given its location in the heart of Little Italy, I can certainly understand why this restaurant has earned such a strong reputation. The atmosphere, service, and presentation are all very good. However, for us, the food simply didn't match the expectations created by its stellar reviews. I am not a pasta gal. Somehow the truffle stuffed pasta here is the best pasta I have ever had in my entire life. It is ungodly unbelievably amazing creamy, bursting with flavor! The bolognese with veal was also fantastic. The calamari is a consistent stunner with tons of little delicately soft squid pieces in a super garlicky tomato sauce amongst tomatoes that pop in your mouth. The food here is the best in Little Italy- tied with Tutto Carne! Amazing place in a huge restaurant sectioned into smaller peaceful spaces. Must try for date night. The service is also impeccable! Elaine was perfectly attentive, the in between service for plate presentation and clearance was also very personable and highly professional. I came to visit my family in ohio this past weekend, one of the first places they took me to eat was here. I was pleasantly surprised by the Aesthetics of this place. It felt very welcoming and warm upon arrival, even though it was snowing outside a little. Bakery near the front was beautifully displayed ,along with all the other merchandise. Staff was semi attentive, atmosphere was nice, place seemed very well kept. Food was great and came at a very reasonable manner. Portion sizes were great as well. My wife and I ate here February 2026. It was quiet which gave it a nice ambiance. They were very accommodating with allowing us to share an arugula salad which had lemon flavored garlic dressing and which was very fresh and refreshing. For her main course my wife had a half portion of Sachetti, which was a pasta served with a truffle flavored cream sauce. She tscores it a 5 for its rich complex flavor and presentation but seemed to be small, even for a half-portion. I had the pasta special, which was orecchiette pasta with sausage, broccoli tips and garlic. This was really lacking in flavor and was a disappointment. All in all we enjoyed the experience and will come back to try other items on the menu. The restaurant has a small parking area in front and a large area behind the restaurant. My absolute new favorite place! The interior of the main building is so light and airy. It's both cool and cozy at the same time. I have only been able to sit at the bar but really love the feel of the space Food is amazing! The portions are 100% shareable. And what you get for your money is undeniably a good deal. If you are ever visiting Cleveland, make sure it isn't on Sunday or you might not get to eat at Michaelangelo's. The food and service and the ambiance are just what was needed for two weary travelers - the best part: our first date was at a restaurant with the same name in Sacramento, CA. It was a wonderful place and there many years but closed before we could get back to it. We had another wonderful meal and got to enjoying memories as we made new ones 12 years later. I have been visiting Little Italy since I was young and never noticed or even heard of this charming little place nestled among older homes. It's a cozy restaurant that looks like it was once a carriage house and the dark, rich interior is most inviting. The staff is polite and friendly, the ambiance is family style but intimate and the bar is a "step up" to the side. Nice for a drink after work or a seat by the fireplace to relax with good conversation. All of the pasta is freshly made in-house, so we prepared for a tasteful treat. We ordered the Veal stuffed Tortellini tossed with prosciutto and green peas in a parm cheese sauce...decadent! A 1/2 order of the Lobster Ravioli with lobster claws and shrimp in a vodka tomato cream sauce...crazy good! and a 1/2 order of the Taglioni pasta with sea scallops, oven-dried tomatoes and garlic-basil EVOO sauce...yummmm! We enjoyed everything with one exception. It was a milestone birthday for me, they knew it in advance (asked if we were celebrating anything), we told them upon arrival and even toasted at the table. Michaelangelo's is a small restaurant located at the edge of Little Italy. It was a nice restaurant with welcoming hostesses and waiters. My partner and I went for a date night and decided to try a little bit of everything. Luckily, they allowed us to get half portions of pasta so that we could try more things. We shared the pappardelle alla bolognese, sacchetti al tartufo, one of their specials, which was a sort of braised beef. All were very good. We also got the creme brulee and the tiramisu della casa, both delicious. We were so eager to eat them that I forgot to take a photo. Overall, the food was delicious and I would definitely come back! Had dinner with another couple that highly recommended this place as their favorite restaurant in Little Italy. Nice cozy little out of the way place, good food, not exceptional, and unfortunately they were out of 2 of the dishes that my wife and I wanted, filet and veal tortellini, and the backup was to be Osso Bucco, which they don't have, it's lamb shank, got that, ok, but not OB. The eggplant terrine is a miniature eggplant parmigiana was very good. The osso bucco over risotto was among the best I have had. The veal scallopini with risotto cake was spectacular. What a fabulous dinner! From start to finish, everything was incredible. The food was so rich and flavorful. Our server was a delight. The only things that weren't great were the people dining next to us who were a little obnoxious and their cellphones kept dinging. I could also do with the light levels being dimmed a little. But seriously, the food was top notch. Next time I go back I'll sit in the moody bar area. The prices are reasonable and I left with boxes of leftovers for the next day. We wished we'd sat outside the whole time but the skies looked a little grey so we sat inside one of the side buildings for dinner and then enjoyed dessert on one of the patios. Inside is very noisy - which we knew to expect from other reviews - but outside was perfectly delightful. We enjoyed our food overall but thought it was a tad overpriced and underseasoned. Wine was good but not great. The Moscato was the best of the ones we tried. We will go back because we want to try some of the other food items and enjoy more al fresco dining. An absolute savor in Cleveland's little Italy. This is a place where you definitely want to take your time and savor. We started with the calamari and some fresh baked bread, which was perfect for sopping up the remaining sauce. We were in Cleveland on business and a local colleague recommended we come for dinner. We didn't have a reservation and they were booked but they were happy to accommodate us. I had the mushroom risotto and it was really tasty and had great balance. The portions were substantial and we're perfect as it was our only meal of the day. My colleague had the lobster and shrimp ravioli. The shrimp was over cooked regardless it was a nice dish. We finished by splitting the lemon raspberry gelato which was really refreshing and a nice finish to our meal. Our main server was a bit sleepy but the support staff kept him moving. Nice atmosphere. Followed by veal tortellini in a light sauce with prosciutto and peas for the fresh pasta and the skate wing picatta special for the dinner. Skate wing isn't often served in greater Cleveland so when I see it on a menu or disclosed as a special , I feel like I must be dealing with a confident chef. Dinner tonight reinforced that idea for me. It was perfectly cooked. The fresh pasta stuffed with veal was amazing comfort food. Easily one of the top restaurants in Little Italy. Just because it isn't on the strip doesn't mean it's not the best pasta in town. Honestly, the fact that it isn't on the strip is huge! They have a parking lot. Yes, a PARKING LOT, in the heart of Little Italy. Amazing I know. But the reason we go time and time again is the quality of the food. The flavors and smells. The great wine and amazing staff. Did you know they are one of the few restaurants that actually make their own pasta? It is a little pricier than most Little Italy spots but that's for good reason. One of my favorite things about Cleveland's Little Italy is that each of the restaurants seem to specialize in different things. Michaelangelo's is definitely the recommendation I'd make for those looking for more of a fine dining experience with a less "traditional" Italian American menu. I've come several times and each meal was exceptional--as was the service. Because we were there for special occasions (anniversaries and birthdays), we took a pretty long time at the table, ordering appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts. I've never felt rushed, and our various servers have been attentive and answered any questions we've had. Dishes ordered: pasta bolognese, osso bucco, bison tenderloin with gorgonzola cream sauce, veal saltimbocca, shrimp and scallop pasta, and veal tortellini --which is maybe my favorite pasta dish I've ever ordered. Everything was exceptional. Even the house salad is impressive--you're not getting iceberg lettuce with ice cold, mealy tomatoes. I also really like the crusted shrimp appetizer. The biscotti and cannoli is a perfect dessert to share over an espresso (or an espresso martini). The ambiance is also worth noting; I'd definitely call this a romantic restaurant if you're looking for somewhere special to take a date. If this review was just about the food it would be around 4 stars, but service is a big component, especially in the current times. Because of COVID, I normally get takeout from Michaelangelo's, so I've never actually dined in before. Based off of the average review, it seems like their service is less than spectacular, but they seem to treat take-out order customers even worse because we're not dining in. I got a lot of attitude from the hostess after waiting in the front for around 10 minutes, in addition to waiting 40 minutes after I ordered over the phone (I expected the wait time, but not the entitled attitude I received) Honestly, it's disappointing how they treat their take-out customers. She was just as rude and dismissive to the other take-out customer who was waiting next to me. I've had multiple different hostesses over the numerous times I've been here, most of the time the service is average at best. This time, however, it was downright rude, and she didn't even bother asking me if I wanted bread on the side and just threw me the take out bag while on the phone. Food-wise, their Sacchetti is delicious. The truffle cream sauce is so good (when they actually give you the bread to dip it in). I have also tried their gnocchi, which is average, just plain pesto)-- the sacchetti is definitely the best. I've always wanted to try their lobster ravioli, but I don't know if I want to come back anytime soon. Regardless, their Sacchetti is good, and their take-out service leaves a lot to be desired. You cannot come to Little Italy and not stop by Michaelangelo's for dinner. This venue used to be packed but since COVID, business has slowed (which is good for me as I felt very safe dining in). The ambiance is a typical nice Italian restaurant. Wait staff is attentive. They have a great selection of wine by the glass, which was nice as we were all ordering different dishes (mix of seafood and red meat) so we all had a different pairing in mind. I always go for a Malbec or Chianti. Both of which were very good that night. For appetizers, the calamari is a stand out. It is very lightly breaded, not overly salted and cooked to tender perfection. The portion size is large and is best fit for 3-4 people. We ordered the tortellini and the raviolini. Both were delicious. My fiance and I usually share our food and I would say to start with the tortellini. the Raviolini is so rich that it overwhelms the palette. it would be hard to go back and forth between the two dishes. We ended with dessert. The tiramisu was to die for as well as the cannoli e biscotti. While we both love cannolis, the highlight of that dish was the biscotti! read more

We had such a lovely dinner here! I made a reservation and requested a spot by the fireplace. A lot of places will not always honor specific seating requests but they put us exactly there which was awesome. There was no wait and we were a little early. They brought warm bread with herbed olive oil for dipping. I had the lobster bisque special and a spinach salad to start. The bisque was amazing and perfectly seasoned. It had shrimp scallops and big chunks of lobster. The spinach salad was good but it was just missing something maybe with a different dressing I would have enjoyed it more. For my entree I got the half order of lobster ravioli. Ok so the portion is pretty small for 27$ you get 4 ravioli. But oh my lawd. It was sooooo good. There was a decent amount of big lobster chunks and shrimp which to be honest I could've done without. The sauce was so good if I wasn't in public I would have licked the plate. My boyfriend enjoyed the sachetti. Our server Ruby was lovely. Our water never hit below half full before it was refilled. The wine was good and pricing was comparable to most other places. My dad made reservations here for our yearly Christmas tradition. We always try a restaurant around Cleveland before going to the Cleveland Orchestra Christmas Concert. I'm glad we tried Michaelangelo's this year! The wine selection was awesome, and we were all pleased with our glasses. We started with the mussels and hazelnut crusted shrimp. Both were excellent, but the sauce the mussels came in was to. die. for. I probably dipped 900 pieces of bread in that sauce. YUM. Entrees around the table were the cavatelli, lobster ravioli, and duck. Again, everyone was absolutely delighted. The cavatelli was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was tangy with a little spice. The duck was so indulgent, and cooked perfectly. My lobster ravioli was loaded with filling, and topped with huge chunks of lobster. The sauce was so flavorful and tasty. Finally, we ordered the chocolate bomb for dessert, which was just as awesome as it sounds. So rich- exactly what we needed to top off our meals! The only thing that turned me off was the service. The older hostess was grouchy, and it took a lot to get our server to be friendly. Nobody in the entire restaurant smiled! In addition, our food was closer to room temperature than hot. Atmosphere - intimate. The restaurant is a little hard to find as it sits back from the street. The restaurant is pretty small (roughly a dozen four tops). There is a casual elegance to the room. The intimacy is embraced by the patrons and so the room was comfortably quiet. Service- very good. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Food - very good. The menu is limited compared to most Italian restaurants, but there are some very good options. I had the caprese salad and bolognese. Both were very good. The sauce (gravy to those using the Italian terminology) was excellent and the portion was huge. My wife ordered the tortellini, which was amazing. Overall - very good. Absolutely wonderful experience, even though it's just delivery. Since i'm living in Little Italy this summer, I knew i have to try this place. It's been on every list and recommendations, so I gotta see what the hype is all about. I got the Lobster Raviolini (half). I like how they offer half because there's no way i would've been able to finish an entire serving. I would've had to pack it away for the next meal, which would definitely partly ruin the experience. The ravioli was great, but what i absolutely loved was the sauce. It was so beautiful and creamy, with the perfect amount of freshness that comes from the lobster. I wish i had some bread with me so i can scoop up all those delicious sauce! The mousse al cappuccino is quite interestingly packed in a container that looks like an ice cream tub. It was super yummy regardless. I didn't really taste the cappuccino, but there were definitely strong notes of chocolate with a beautifully creamy mousse. Yes it was $12 for a dessert but i ate it over three meals as it was quite filling, so $4 per meal for such a great dessert i am definitely not complaining. If i were to pick one thing that i'm not happy about, it would be that they don't offer any vegan options. This is partly the reason why i only got delivery since my friend who's vegan can't have any of the menu items there. read more

We had reservations for a Friday night at 7 and were surprised how empty the restaurant was. The restaurant is set back off the main drag, so I am guessing there is not a lot of walk in traffic. The interior is pretty simple and the tables are close together. If you are planning on a romantic evening, this is not the place for you. Bottles of wine under $100 were half price, so we had a nice bottle for $38. The menu has an array of items, as well as a few specials provided by our server. Our server was ok, but nothing special. He never checked back after our meals were served. I had the arugula salad, which was a nice size and had a good flavor. My entree was the veal tortellini and was similar to a carbonara. The sauce was sooooo good that I wanted to take my uneaten portion home, but we stayed at a hotel that didn't have a refrigerator. I am glad I went, but not in a hurry to go back. For me it was the atmosphere that I really didn't enjoy and that is part of the experience of dining out. read more
