Horrible experience with a pick-up. I do not recommend using this store. Thank goodness they have alerts with emails and texts or I would not have caught someone else picking up my package. When I tried calling the store less than a minute later to alert them that my package was stolen by another person, it kept ringing and then went to a message that said, "Goodbye" and hung up. I called corporate customer service for assistance. They were able to contact the store. The store told them a "woman with glasses" picked up the order. I asked if they had more specific information such as height, weight, skin color, or age. I had proof that I had not left my house for the day from my home security cameras. Fortunately, corporate was willing to refund me for my purchase, but I will not be shopping or using online services for this store ever again. read more

i wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. i've been to many michael's and i've never once had a problem with the employees. 2/8 around 1ish pm i went in looking for a specific item, not a single person in the store was there to help. i went up to the registers and they said they couldn't look it up.(ive worked with michael's i know you can look anything up with a item number) and when i showed her how she proceeded to say the count was off and straight up refused to help me look for it. and the manager did the same exact thing, REFUSED TO HELP. the lack of good customer service and simple respect is insane. any other michael's but this particular one is absolutely amazing don't get me wrong. read more

I've worked retail/customer service for around 10 years now. I've only ever given a negative review at one place, they truly deserved it... this will be my second. I got here 20 minutes before they close, I know that is short timing, but I needed one item, I'm considering this is a corporation I didn't think it would matter. As soon as I I was yelled at across the store that they were closing in 10 minutes (8:40), I was kind of already uncomfortable because I did not get greeting... so I made my way to the aisle that I needed and item from, and a lady stocking she was working on walks up behind me asking me if there's anything she can help me with. I say yes actually, where is the polymer clay? Even though I knew where it is, I just didn't want her to think I was gonna be taking forever, she said yeah it's right over here. I say OK you could just point me in the direction and she does not do that. She instead follows me reminding me two times over a 20 second walk that they are closing in 12 minutes. I got to the polymer clay aisle, where I expected to at least be left alone to pick out what I wanted.. instead she stood behind me watching me. So at this point, I was aggravated and decided to take my time and picked up several polymer clothes, mumbling to myself this is a corporation and corporations Don't close early just because the store is empty.. may be rude yeah but I was very uncomfortable. so now it is 8:50, I'm walking towards the front, there is a candy aisle right in front of the cash register so I take just half a second to look and the lady behind the cash register yell at me about how they're closed and how I cannot continue to shop. read more

Located conveniently in the Town Center of Aurora, Michaels has become my one stop shop for all crafting and creation lately! This Michaels was supposed to save my botched visit at Joann's Fabric and I got excited that the store was only 0.8 miles away. Upon arriving, I got a friendly greeting but most of the aisles were not fully stocked up whatsoever. The Scrapbooking aisle was all the way in the back and they had no scrapbooking paper whatsoever, where is the variety of the "Echo Park Paper Company brand?" They also didn't carry a variety Scrapbooking hole punchers or another favorite brand: Happy Planner merchandise or anything. I felt a mild headache from walking around the aisles looking for a simple bone folder! There was a sweet young teenage boy who rang me out and I did buy a lot of home décor for a decent discount. The only other thing that disappointed me was the mere .50 cents my 20% coupon only took off my total! I expected a bigger savings. My conclusion on this visit boils down on the different brands my regular Michaels carry versus this Michaels. It's possible this isn't as "mega" as my location, that I shop frequently at. It's possible that truck day was only a day away or delayed due the weather we had that evening! read more

Some of the workers here are great & friendly! I had a lady help me look for something even when I didn't go up to her to ask for help. Other times, you're pacing back and forth between 100 aisles looking for a single employee and are left kind of helpless. Don't purchase anything here without finding a mobile coupon first. There's almost always an online coupon you can use for discounts. I was able to buy a bunch of cute stuff here for a tea party I threw for a friend. I also came here to make a flower crown for a Dia de los Muertos themed event I went to. The silk flowers are expensive but are much prettier than the cheaper ones you'll find at places like the Dollar Store. They're having a huge sale this weekend so you bet my butt will be present. read more

TL;DR - Get your art framed somewhere else. Seriously, anywhere but here. Even stupid Hobby Lobby couldn't have screwed this up as badly as the Michael's on South Abiline did. I placed an custom framing order with Julian on December 7th, 2022 that was scheduled to be complete on December 19th, in plenty of time to have it by Christmas. Julian was great. I retained my artwork on the day I placed the order, and I think that is where the confusion began. On December 12th, I returned to the store with my art and left it in the care of a different framer, whose name I didn't catch. I left the store feeling confident that the framer would put my art away safely and that the order would be completed on schedule. My December 19th due date came and went without a phone call from Michael's saying that my order was ready for pick-up, so I stopped by the store only to learn that some of the materials for my order had come in damaged and needed to be reordered. I was a little irritated that no one had notified me that my order would not be completed before Christmas, but it wasn't really a big deal at that point. My recipient would just have to receive their gift late. So, the holidays are over and it's still crickets from Michael's. No word. No communication of any kind. I decided to go back to the store - again - to see what was going on. When I got there, I learned that not only was my order STILL not complete.... The frame shop had lost my artwork. An original drawing of my cousin's dogs that I had commissioned from the artist back in October with the intention of giving it to my cousin for Christmas! I don't mean "oopsie, I must have set something on top of it!" I mean LOST lost. At least three different people turned that frame shop upside down and my art was NOWHERE. I don't know if it was stolen. I don't know if it was damaged and a framer tried to cover it up. I don't know if it is still in a cardboard sleeve in some crevice in the frame shop. All I know for sure is that my beautiful, one of a kind art piece that I put a lot of thought and money into is not hanging framed on my cousin's wall right now like it should be. And I am pretty effing steamed about it. Did Michael's make it right? Sure, I guess they did, to the best of their ability. They refunded the cost of my framing and what I paid for the art piece. But a refund can't return my art to me, or change the fact that my very special Christmas gift plans were ruined. read more

I'm an avid Michael's shopper, but I had never been to this location. I was headed to the airport to visit my friend and her new baby and needed a frame for a print I had purchased as a baby gift. Unfortunately, the print was purchased from a UK artist, so the dimensions were not compatible with many frames. I settled on a float frame. I peeked into the framing room to ask for help. A young man named Michael (of Michael's), put the print in the frame, did a great job, and even took it into the back to blow the dust out of it. It was an above and beyond customer service experience, and I appreciated him very much. This store is really beautiful and much more organized than the Michael's stores on my part of town. So I got it into my head a few weeks back that I was going to take up crocheting again and make a few scarves for Christmas gifts this year. I haven't been to a Michael's in ages, but figured I'd give it a go and shake things up from my usual crafty stores. Cue the hobby and crafty angels chorus here! This store is laid out beautifully and has so many lovely decorations and accent pieces that I could spend all of my money here. Easily. But I came in for yarn and crochet hooks, so I beelined past all of the tempting winter and holiday decorations and found the small, but excellent yarn selection. Not surprisingly, there were many pattern books for cool scarves and hats. Since I only know two stitches at the moment, I passed on the books, but I'm thinking I need to expand my abilities, so I'll have to return for a few and freshen up my skillz. I loved this store. It was bright, clean, and well-organized. And the staff were super friendly and helpful! Forget Hobby Lobby, get yourselves over to Michael's for your crafty needs! read more

Wow, I was really insulted on a recent visit. I was looking for a certain type of hook for hanging pictures from a picture rail. The woman in the picture area, after ignoring and avoiding me for several minutes, finally said "do you just have a quick question?" as if anything beyond a quick question would just be too much for her to handle despite that there were only like three other customers in the entire store. Well it was a very simple question and anybody with any knowledge of picture framing and hanging would have known, but she apparently had no clue what I was talking about. Aisles and aisles of picture frames and yet the staff do not know what a picture rail is. Also, how can such a huge big-box arts/crafts/framing store not have a complete assortment of picture hanging accoutrements? They have one tiny rack with the cheap hangers I would never trust with nicer pieces. I felt very unwelcome in this store, and judging by the fact there were only three other customers in there, I guess I'm not alone! read more

They do not have the hang of curbside pickup.... called the number she wrote down my name then someone had to come out to my car and ask my order number (could have just done that over the phone to have less contact... the whole point of curbside pickup) then when he finally came out with my order he did not put it in my trunk or even ask where I would like it he just handed me my huge bag and shoved it through my window almost dropping it on me. Like what is the point of curbside pickup if you're going to hand it to me that is not keeping 6 foot distance!!! Then after inspection of my order I noticed that they gave me the wrong paint not even the brand that I ordered. What a process and terrible customer service. Don't bother with curbside just go in, could have been more socially distant by going in and doing it myself! Disappointing. read more

I went to buy these pens that were locked up so I asked one of the employees to help me with unlocking the cabinet. When I asked if I could make sure that it is the accurate size I wanted in terms of how fine it was, she stated that she cannot open it because it will dry out. She was incredibly rude and I expressed that I was going to buy it but I need the correct size so she eventually allowed me to look at it as she held it. This staff was very offensive and inappropriate, and lacks the proper customer service required. She made it appear as if I was attempting to steal the pens, and was very blatant about it. She was disrespectful and made it seem as if I was a bother to her when I asked for her help. All of the other Michaels I have gone to have been very helpful and courteous except for this one, which I will never be going to again. read more

We went for stuffing for my daughter's pillow and found so much more. I love the store!! This location was clean and well organized. The staff were very helpful. While the store is very organized, it is a little overwhelming when you're trying to find one specific item. In our search, we took a little detour and played with the sci-fi dragons. There were not many other customers in the store, so we weren't in the way as we played with them. A member of the staff came our way, and I knew she was going to ask us to stop or leave or something, but she just smiled and gave us a thumbs up. After a few minutes of playing with flying dragons, we eventually found the stuffing and thread. It is so fun to just wander around the store and be inspired by the crafts. Other than spending more money than I had anticipated, it was a great trip. read more

I recently moved to Denver and my first time in this store was on Saturday. I was there right when they opened, and they were helpful as I walked in (one of the items I was looking for was outside) but once I got inside I could not find a soul to help me. The 3-4 employees who I had seen at the door all vanished. I didn't know where anything was so I wandered around for quite some time trying to find all the things on my list (and let's be real, buying things I didn't need too). :) I have never been in a Michael's that didn't help you, but I was pretty disappointed. I FINALLY found someone who was rushing by and when I stopped to ask her where a specific item was she seemed upset by the fact that I stopped her. One of the reasons I was having a hard time was because some of the labels on the store (like on the wall, so you can easily see where things are) were wrong. For example, there's a big sign for glue, but I got there and there was no glue. The glue was in a different section, and on top of that the glue guns were not with the rest of the glue (they were in the floral section, in case you're wondering). It was just hard to navigate and find what you wanted. Then when I went to check out I was the third person in line, and the person who was checking out was having some sort of a problem that the clerk was trying to take care of. I thought that she'd call for help with the growing line (because they usually do at other stores) but she didn't. She then also took a while to help check out the other guests, just generally seemed to be taking her time. I love Michael's stores and will definitely go back, it was just my first time in there and I was a little put off by my experience. read more

There are very few times that I see customer service that exceeds expectations. I recently visited Michael's needing a few items to finish a project I needed to do. When I was ready to check out one of the cashier's was trying to help a woman with such a nasty attitude and seemed like nothing would please this poor woman. The customer was so rude and mean to the young cashier the whole time, but the cashier kept smiling and proceeded to ring up the rude lady and got her items and sent her on her way with even telling her to "have a great day mam". Not once did the cashier break, she was so professional and told her to have a nice day after ringing her up. When it was my turn I walked up to her gave her my items to purchase and told her how impressed I was with her attitude towards the mean woman. She proceed to tell me, Mam, it's my job and no matter how mean, nasty or rude people are you have to treat them like you would want to be treated. I was impressed. At the end of my transaction she asked if I had any coupons, I said no and she proceeded to show me the sale ad and said "we always have these coupons every week in our ad, that I can save 40% off a regular priced item. I was so impressed with her knowledge and how she treaded me with such respect I had to write this review. Nowadays there are so many kids who are so disrespectful and this young lady gave me such great and impeccable service I wanted to make sure she gets the attention and deserves.
