I strolled in here about two weeks ago for some silicon as well as some mini canvases. It was pretty easy to find what we needed as the store was very organized, even in the midst of the hectic holiday season. We breezed through other aisles once we had what we intended to get, to see if we could add anything to our list for the next time! We wrapped up and waited in a semi long line for a few minutes. Tawne was our cashier and she was awesome! She was sharp, efficient, and very customer service oriented. This store is usually a mess. They don't keep it as clean, neat or organized as they should. Things are all over the place. The store seems a bit dark as well. The store seems crowded, which makes it unpleasant to look for items you need. Considering the neighborhood this store is located, I would expect more. I love Michaels. It is really dangerous for me to go into this store. But it has basically everything and you can spend a lot of time roaming the isles and deciding what craft you want to do. I wish they had more scrapbooking stuff, but that's just selfish because they have a lot of scrapbooking stuff already and I am just sad that there are no independently owned scrapbook stores in my area anymore. Yup, let's add to the COVID nightmare. I stopped going to this Michael's because it does not matter the time, IT IS PACKED! I now do curbside pick up. Which took about 15 minutes. I think it took long because of the amount of people going in and out- it is ridiculous how busy this Michael's gets. What are are y'all crafting? Some folks have their masks under their chin. Others take them off or put them on as they pass the entrance threshold. I just don't understand why it's such an inconvenience to keep it on just one more minute. But, the worst I saw was an employee walking in without a mask; not even in her hand. Tsk, tsk. But hey, she was walking fast so maybe that helps? Or could it be that employees are immune? Hmmm... DEFINITELY NOT A-OK....not even 'meh'! Please read the 1-, 2-, and 3- star reviews that complain about the slow, unsmiling, disinterested service here, because they are spot on. Spent WAY longer than I wanted to on this fine Sunday afternoon (around 2pm- 2:30pm) trying to find my items. The entire time I was there, I saw only two employees in the entire store; however, both were working checkout. This meant NO ONE left to tell a customer where things were stocked. Why were there no floor personnel at all? If there were any, where were they hiding? After searching for about 15 minutes without success for something I was sure they'd have, I waited quietly at the side of a cash register for a break (in between customers) to ask the checkout employee my question. What I got were wrong directions to what I wanted (I eventually located it in a different aisle, by sheer luck). In defense of the employees there, it seemed they were stressed out and completely overwhelmed with the number of people to take care of. This is a management problem, not an employee issue. It's time to get some more help on that floor. This could be a great store, but I can't give it 3 stars ("A-OK") because it is definitely NOT A-OK. It doesn't even deserve 2 stars ("Meh. I've experienced better"). It gets 1 star ("Eek! Methinks not.") This store is BROKEN. NOTE: While I was wandering around failing to find any help, another customer was audibly complaining about the exact same issue - not being able to get some help. In my opinion, the person was spot on with their gripe, because I had the identical issue. We pretty much knew what we wanted but he helped us to make the most economical decisions and we walked away with beautifully cut mats for daughter's vintage prints as well as wonderful frames at a great price. Very spacious and well organized store with excellent lighting and spacious aisles. Great finds on sale items with great customer service. Every time I shop at this store, I would have a sales associate come up and ask if I needed help. Love the layout and overall feel of the store. I found so many great items to display at my wedding! Take advantage of their in store coupons! I bought reception candles for 40% off with coupon! After doing some major comparing shopping, it's cheaper to shop at Michael's if you use their coupons. Only downfall is you can't use more than one coupon per visit. This explains why I go here everyday until I stock up on all my reception decor! read more

Went to this store a half hour before closing with my husband and son. The store looked like it was closed already because the entry was full of the racks from outside blocking the left entrance to the store. We were looking for items for a school project. I only saw 2 people working in the front of the store. My son needed to use the restroom after looking around for 10 minutes, so we went to find the restroom. It was blocked off by some racks rolled in front of the hallway. I asked one employee if the restrooms were closed. She said yes, they were closed. Then I saw the other employee who seemed to be a supervisor and asked if the restrooms were closed because they were closing soon (in 20 minutes). She said the restrooms are closed and did not answer my question. So I asked again if the restrooms were closed because of them closing soon... she rudely said that's part of the reason. I said my son needs to use the restroom really bad. She ignored me and continued opening boxes or whatever she was doing. So I tossed what I was going to buy in a basket of product and we left. I can't believe I have never been to this location before! I'm always going to Walmart in the same shopping center and never thought twice to come here until now! I love how open and wide this store is, the one in Orange is extremely tight and narrow which makes it hard to get around and find what your looking for without bumping into rude people in the aisles! It's extremely open and free flowing without a ton of crap in the middle of the walkways which is annoying and hard to get around without getting frustrating! I drooled over their bling selection for a while which is normal for me and even got help when I was looking for a HK garden banner since idiots in my complex like to tear holes through her face -_- She directed me straight to it and we didn't have to wait an eternity in line, usually at the Yorba Linda location in Savi Ranch their always understaffed and trying to call for back up but takes forever! OK, I would not normally think of reviewing a chain store like Michaels as I doubt store employees care about yelp and corporate offices are too congested to read any reviews. That being said, I have to give kudos to the Customer Service at the Brea store. I went in looking for shadow boxes for a class event, and found some perfect ones on sale. I needed 16 boxes, and after looking around for 1 minute, I was approached by a sales rep who offered assistance. She proceeded to search on the higher shelves and back office to come up with 12. I thought it was still a great score. As I started toward the register, the rep insisted she and another will bring them up front for me. When we arrived, she proceeded to call surrounding stores to check their inventory without me even asking. She asked me if I wanted some sent over from another store, or if she should have them held for me. Maybe I don't expect great customer service at large chain stores anymore, but my experience at this one was a pleasant surprise! read more

Love this place. I've been bringing my kids here for years. If your looking for unique craft items or flower pieces this is the best place to go. My kids have school projects about once a month. They tend to be such a drag and seem like they always become the parents problem. Micheals does make it so easy to get them done. My daughters love to pick out the pieces and coardboard to make the projects complete. My son has done every science project in elementary school with the pieces bought from this store. The staff is always very helpful and kind with the kids. They seem to always want to help out and make sure that we get the right items needs to complete there project. I really like it because when they are bored its a fun place to just come to and find a really fun project to work on at home. read more

I've come here a few times before and yes that guy (I forgot his name) is rude as heck. Sounds bored and sounds like he doesn't like his job. I decided on writing this review today because of what I experienced today. I've always came here in the past to get essentials for crafts, cute stuff for my bathroom, yada yada. They always have what I need and have great sales sometimes and coupons. The associates are a hit or miss. Some are very friendly and some are veeeery rude. So today I came in to get stuff for my bathroom. I saw an older woman who worked there going in and out of the aisles who looked mad. Looked like she was getting peoples' online orders and said something in the speaker set she had complaining on how many online orders there were and that she needed help. I was like "yikes!" Once I get to the checkout, that same lady was working the register. I was like "Awww crap". I get to her register and she didn't even say hello. She just started scanning. I had a 100 dollar bill on me to pay. I didn't catch her name but she was so rude. She acted like it was a problem I gave her the 100. She was older, had glasses, and curly hair. She takes my 100 and put it in that machine that checks to see if it's real or not. She had another lady come to try to help her. She tells the other lady "I've tried 4 times and it's not going!" The lady tried again and it wasn't working. I saw there was glue or something on the bill btw hence why it wasn't working. So the lady gave me the 100 back and asked if I had another form of payment. I said no that's all I had. The older woman comes out behind the register, reaches in my cart, and starts taking the stuff out without telling me what she was doing. I was like "huh?" and I was standing there confused. She was like "We'll hold it for you until the store closes today". I was like "okay, thanks". I ended up going to Walmart to break the 100 and they accepted it no problem. I went back to that Michaels to pay for my stuff and a very kind gentleman helped me. Let me start off by saying I LOVE THIS STORE! I come here at least once a month and I always leave happy and satisfied. The employees are always very nice and helpful EXCEPT FOR TODAY! Self checkout was running smoothly but I just had an identity theft scare so I wasn't about to use my card during this busy Christmas season. The only cashier working was on a phone call so I waited patiently. Everyone passed me up to go to self checkout which I didn't mind. Another employee named SARAH (store #2111) asked if I was going to use self checkout, I said no so she said she'd help me on 1. I LITERALLY almost threw all my things down and walked out at that moment. The way she was being snarky, condescending, sarcastic and rude was on a whole other level. I wasn't expecting her help, I didn't ask for her specifically so the attitude I received was completely uncalled for. I have never been talked to that way at ANY store. Horrible customer service. 30 minutes too early to use a 20% off your entire purchase coupon. They lost a huge sale by not honoring this for me for only being half hour too early for the start time of the coupon. After spending over an hour shopping in their store I get in line to pay and so I look their coupons up online and asked to use it only to be told it's not possible. I asked for a manager to override it and they said "we'll scan it but if it doesn't work, I can't use it". BULL. That's never true. So she tells me I can come back but they can't hold my items. LOL. I've been here a number of times, and it's an "ok" store. I generally know what I want / need and where to find it. Comparing it to other Michael's and similar craft stores, they seem to be a little more disorganized, and its commonplace to find items in wrong bins, or mis-priced items (happened to me today actually - purchased a frame labeled $9.99 only to find out at the register that it was $11.99. I explained the incorrect price to the cashier who started looking around for help, then looked at me and said, "i dont know, sorry.") I'll probably keep coming here for my scrapbooking supplies, but I've learned to expect the unexpected here, lol. read more

I have gone to this Michael's quite a few times. It's on the way to the freeway so it's in a pretty good location. I don't really purchase anything at these stores except scrapbooking materials such as paper and stickers. They have a nice selection of stickers which is always great...on my past few visit's i've spent around $40-50 each trip. Not bad...but it's a little sad when you think you find great priced stickers but find that other people just put them under the wrong price tag. Been feelin' creative lately, so stopped by the best place for basically every craft product you'll need. This one is not as big as other Michaels I've been to (Burbank), but they still have mostly everything. It's just a little crowded. But every time I've been here the workers are so nice and ask to make sure I'm finding what I need. I never go to Michaels without coupons. Especially love when those 50% off ones show up.
