Even though they appeared to be short staffed the service was still great. The manager was great!!! He was very nice & professional, he was really multi-tasking when myself & my guest arrived. He was the host, he cleaned tables, brought out food & he checked on the customers & still remained very positive. The food was pretty good, I just didn't like how they put onions in everything. I love this place! I been here about 3 times so far and I love the atmosphere and location. They have plenty of parking because it's in a shopping center area. I recommend making reservations so you won't have to wait. I was about to make one same day on open table. The bar area is huge. They social distance so it's 2 seats between parties. The dining area is a nice size but not as large as the timonium location. My best experience came from my sever Mat. He was just wonderful. The bathrooms are gender neutral but was still clean. They have lots of TVs at the bar. They have a basic American food menu. I will be back over and over. read more

Had a variety when my family and I came for brunch. Let me say that I love the layout and ambiance of the restaurant. The kitchen is working through a few kinks but I think they will be ok. We had a few items that had to be recooked because they were undone or not prepared the way they should have been but all in all the manager was very apologetic and we will give the brunch another shot. read more

We went to Michaels cafe for an early Valentine's dinner. The service was great, we sat at the bar, our bartender/server was Chuck I believe? He was knowledgeable about the menu and didn't hover over us, checked on us just enough for anything we needed. We started with the Happy Hour tostadas, everything on them tasted fresh. I had the braised short rib which was tender and full of flavor. My fiancé had the steak and cake. The crab cake was delicious, almost no filler and the steak was cooked perfectly, his only critique would be a bit more salt and pepper on the steak. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had Taharka Brothers (the best local ice cream ever) on their dessert menu. All in all a wonderful dining experience and we will definitely be back. read more

I love the Michael's cafe in Timonium, came for a family dinner for a late Christmas and I was so impressed!!! Everyone was so kind, the restaurant was so nice. And clean and fresh. Our server Pablo was amazing. 100 percent fine dining and was the best. It was nice going out to a nice diner and have a fantastic server. The servers who dropped off our water were amazing and other servers filled our water. I am 100 percent happy. The food was amazing too!!!! read more

UPDATE....... After sitting at the bar and additional 15-20 minutes....I still have had nothing said to me. This is absolutely unacceptable. I had my plate taken away from me after I was done and had pushed it off to the side but I've still had no one verbally say anything to me or offer me my check. This is leaving a bit of a bad taste in my mouth... Although the food is absolutely delicious. We started with four stars now we're at 3. Michael's.....we started of so great... I'm giving you four stars based on the quality of food and the first bartender that helped me but it should really be a 3.5. She was an absolute gem and a pleasure to be served by. I ordered the chophouse wedge salad and although the state came out a little more rare than I like, without a problem it was quickly taken back to the kitchen to be reheated. the salad was absolutely delicious and I also ordered the margarita which was quite tasty. Where we went downhill was when my original bartender went off shift and was replaced by two gentlemen, neither of them checked on me to see if I was okay and if my food was okay. both gentlemen chose to have conversations with each other rather than check on myself and the other two women that were sitting on the opposite side of the bar from me. I happen to be quite the stickler for customer service and this is absolutely unacceptable. I guess when I'm done drinking my drink I'll be asked if I need anything else. Sadly this is something that needs to be worked on, I believe that your bartender should have at least the ability to say hello to you and make sure that you are okay before continuing a long-drawn conversation with their co-workers. I will return because the food is absolutely amazing here however, I will probably ask to be seated at a table in order to gain better service. The atmosphere is beautiful and the music is great here. Let's work on having your make bartenders be more attentive to your guests. read more

Bloody Mary cocktail was awful. Icelandic Cod was a piece of frozen fish described as being pan seared. Long time no swim. No color at all . Looked as if it were microwaved. Fish was garnished with 2 razor thin slices of lemon, not even enough to squeeze. Mashed potatoes side was a scoop of potato with some green garnish. Dry with no sauce or gravy. Came in with my 16 month old and wife for the first time. Less than a 5 min wait and they are kid friendly. Fridays they have a live band at 9 which is pretty cool. We ordered the fried freen tomatoes without the lump crab. They were pretty good. Crispy on the outside and a fresh tomato on the inside. It was a nice bite. One critique would be more salt. I aslo ordered a pumpkin butter old fashion. It was delicious and presented well. I ordered a new york strip medium with a side ceasar salad. The steak was cooked perfect. The garlic butter melted evenly over the steak and gave it a great kick of flavor. Side salad was simple but fresh. Service was great. Will definitely come back. read more

I went to Michaels on a Monday at 6pm. This was my second time there; both times were at the bar. I don't remember the tvs from before. I guess they have something for everyone because it feels classier than a sports bar. Low music is playing. I wasn't able to pick up on the genre but it was enough so that you could talk. It was a mixed crowd. There was a family seated in a booth, a group of coworkers at the bar, a few couples, and a few singles. My meatballs and hummus were really good. The meatballs were a little dry but I'm assuming that's because it's lamb meat. Mixing it with the hummus and olive oil helps. If I could just get the hummus with pita I would have loved that! read more

All restaurants should be judged by how they handle obstacles, even self infllicted ones. My family made a reservation and left a credit card for a deposit. When we arrived for dinner Saturday, the restaurant had no reservation. Evidently the lady that took the reservation wrote name our name wrong, our phone number wrong, and our credit card number wrong. After a short wait the restaurant got us a great table together. The entire team was great, no one tried to deny the fact that they completely messed up our reservation, they just moved on to fixing it and giving us a great meal. read more

I've visited this establishment a few times now. The food is decent but a bit pricey for what you receive. The drinks were decent as well. The seating are the bar is way too tightly seated together. You definitely can not have a causal date at the bar without your neighbor engaging in your convo. Overall I enjoy Michael's and pleased to see the new football menu on Sundays. read more

Overall this place is in a great location there's not much around yet as they are still building it up the area. With that being said, I do believe the price points are a little high for the type of food and area. The hostess was super friendly and held the door open upon arrival and said goodbye when we left. We were seated quickly and didn't need reservations, it wasn't very busy, also it was a Tuesday night. We ordered off the happy hour menu (which wasn't that great price wise) and got the pulled pork chicken nachos, upon arrival we were slightly disappointed as it seemed more like a nacho pizza instead of what we pictured based on the description. Following the appetizer, we got the crab cake and fries $23, the crab cake was delicious and had big chunks of crab, and the price was market value, but the fries weren't anything to write home about We also got the cheeseshank (basically a cheesesteak). The cheeseshank was good, decent vegetable to meat ratio but much greasier than I expected a $16 cheesesteak to be, since it was a nicer cut of meat, felt it should've been less greasy than it was. I skipped out on most of my fries because they were covered in grease. But overall the food wasn't bad. The main reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because the air conditioner directly above us was dripping a decent amount of water onto the booth and when we notified the staff they just shrugged it off as an everyday issue. We ended up wiping our purses clean with our dirty napkins and leaving. read more

Three stars for service and accommodations made by the manager. This place had really good food in the past. Special of the day was ordered and was so salty that it couldn't be eaten. Manager promptly replaced with a burger, which was nice. Rockfish over rice was good except the rice was half cooked and was crunchy. Even their truffle fries which were so crispy and just right before was soggy and unseasoned. Tuna wrap was okay except the sprout tasted like the bottoms were not cut off and some parts were to hard to chew. I would still go back for their appetizers and drinks which were all decent. Honestly, the food has been great each time I have visited, but the service has been indifferent at best and hostile at worst. More recently, a hostess was complaining about customers to customers. It was relatively slow at the time, but it seemed like maybe they were short staffed. The hostess made fairly hostile comments to customers checking in to be added to the wait list. There were plenty of open tables, but maybe only a few servers, so I am guessing they were staggering seating to prevent overwhelming the staff. Even with that, the food took forever, and normal services like refilling water were nonexistent. Speaking as someone who was a server, I do have some empathy to the staffing issues, but the hostess was just extremely hostile to my party and others that came in while we waited and that was enough to make me not want to go back. read more
