Pretty good food and pretty good service. For food i got the grilled octopus which was one of the best i ve had, the oysters and buffalo wings very good too. The only reason why i didnt give a 5 star rating it s because the Ribeye. It is way too thick, i would suggest a thinner cut which would retain a lot more flavor. Sooooo I have so many good things to say about Michaels. I enjoy there happy hour. Who would have thought they Cauliflower Bites would be so good. The atmosphere is always nice and the bartender ( William) even remembers what I drink that's how often I am there for happy hour. The menu is nice but pricey. I haven't tried everything but everything that I have tried has been delicious. They also serve brunch ( Not bottomless and something that they should look into ) I've had better I don't like that they don't serve EGG Whites( weird to me) and the turkey sausage didn't taste good. So they need to add other non meat, non pork options to the brunch Menu and I'd be super excited. Also there Fries are delicious I get a side with every meal.. lol read more

My husband and I live very close and it is great to see a more upscale restaurant open in the area. We have been several times for dinner and happy hour. They have a great selection of unique cocktails. The food menu is small but I prefer quality over quantity, so I don't mind. The cheese shank, crab dip, steak, and wings are all really good. The only thing I've tried and did not like was the pork bolognese. We have not had issues with the atmosphere or overcrowding as others have said. It's no more crowded than other restaurants of similar size. We will definitely be going here regularly. read more

Finally! An upscale bar/restaurant in Middle River. It's conveniently located on Rt. 43, with a friendly staff and excellent food. The atmosphere is that of a local bar yet definitely not a dive. I'm glad Michael's came to us. Anything from a drink to a burger to a delicious entree, you can't go wrong. Not sure if the menu is still expanding since we started going when it was only a limited menu. It has grown but again, not sure if it's the final version. Highly recommend! What a nice restaurant. The decor is modern. The staff is friendly. The food is great. While the restaurant has just opened and they are still working on the full menu the current menu has tons of great choices. I chose the cheeseshank which is braised beef shank with cheese and cherry peppers. It was spicy but not over the top. The meat was so incredibly tender you didn't need teeth to enjoy it. We had to wait for our table even with reservations but the manager was amazing. He had our server come and get our drink order while we waited so we could enjoy a cocktail. He then apologized and sent over a few appetizers which were amazing. The cocktails are mixed professionally and were all delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. Price for what you get is too much. It's a nice spot, yes. But no matter what, you are still in Middle River where the median income can't even touch this place. I ordered the mussels which listed the price as $14 on the menu but when the bill came said $15. I was with a large group and didn't want to be that person so I didn't argue over the $1, but I should have. The mussels were not great, very lemon heavy sauce a little gritty as well. Fries were served on top of the mussels but quickly all made it to the bottom where the sauce was and they were then inedible. The brussel sprouts were good. I enjoyed them. They were not worth $7 for the portion though. The Smith Island Chocolate Layer Cake.... that was gross. So dry. If anyone has ever had SIC you would know it's moist and delicious. It was $9 and hardly worth it. I left there with food regret. I will say the waitress Katie was nice and accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful but I did notice a lot of gnats. We were seated in the bar area, not sure if it's a problem there because of the front door but the gnats were annoying. I don't know if I'll be back. Was not wowed for the price. read more

Lunch at Michael's Cafe was pure delight. The decor/design has been carefully thought through and it is obvious as soon as you step in the restaurant. We were greeted, welcomed by a pleasant hostess. Lighting fixtures, color scheme, open space, sight lines and seating all contribute to a nice dining atmosphere. Bathrooms are very clean and fixtures are all easy to operate and require minimal hands on operation. The bar is well stocked, comfortable seating and handbag/purse hooks are a really nice touch. The food was scrumptious and the service was friendly, helpful, attentive and informed. Special note: I asked for a shot of sherry/brandy and the server asked was it for my cream of crab soup. She advised she could bring me some sherry and I was pleasantly surprised to see there was no charge for it on my tab. Kindness and thoughtfulness is appreciated. Went here for Valentine's Day lunch because it's the newest "hot spot". For starters, we ordered fried calamari as our appetizer. Was good, except for the fact that I picked up a piece that was fried jalapeño. As someone who doesn't eat spicy food, it came as a shock and displeasing taste. Ordered the Korean rice bowl (with chicken) and I should've just been safe and ordered a salad or sandwich because this wasn't appetizing, AT ALL. Large portion but was confused what they were trying to do with the flavor. Had jackfruit to add a sweet flavor, but it didn't accommodate what else was going on, flavor wise. Hubs originally ordered a Bahn Mi sandwich. Waiter came back about 15 minutes later to inform us they were out. Looked over the menu and ordered a Po'Boy sandwich, only to know that they were out of that as well. Mind you - we were there at noon, so kind of hard to believe they were out of things so early in the day . He finally settled for a crab cake platter. Small cake which came with fries and coleslaw. Plenty of outdoor seating was available and the doors were open so there was plenty of fresh air while sitting at the bar. I was a newbie at Michael's. Saw the Yelp listing when I stayed nearby at a hotel on my way north for work. I was looking for a good crab cake and it did not disappoint! It took a while and the crab cake was not piping hot but it was good. The server was pretty good and attentive. I wonder though if bread should have been included? We ordered and we conversed. It's so noisy, the acoustics don't exist. Our means arrived. My red snapper was overdone, leathery on the outside and dry on the inside. Came in on a Sunday with family. Was seated quickly, dining area was not busy at all. While reading over the menu we noticed tables around us were being greeted and orders taken, before we even saw a server. We were ready to leave and that's when the server arrived. She quickly apologized for the delay and took our order. She must have made mention of issue to the manager and he came over to talk to us apologized again as well gave us complimentary desserts for the table. Same menu as the one in timonium. Good drink selection: wines, liquor, draft beer. I got the short rib, and it was very good. The bathrooms were very clean. My only issue was with the noise level; it was hard to hear others during a conversation (this was in the back room). Also, it was kind of weird they had a DJ at 9pm on a Friday. Im not much of a picture person so I neglected to take photos of the food. The customer service alone was impeccable. The on-duty manager came over to check on things. During a walk past my table he even brought me a water refill. The waiters and waitresses were all very kind, friendly and made sure all of my needs were met. The ambiance was nice for a date night.
