I simply asked an employee where I could find foam blocks. She made it seem so simple like "aisle 95 in kids" I was like oh ok thank you, as I proceeded through the entire store looking for any visible aisle number. I finally circled around to the same girl I originally asked the question. I asked " where can I see aisle numbers?, she said oh they are right here! Oh, ( stuck on stupid) they aren't right here, they are on the other side. I said, oh, they are on on the other side, "how convenient!". She said you could just tell me and I said no you are being rude. Then I said that she was being a bitch and she said "no you are!" props to her but NO! I'm sorry you are on the clock and getting paid, your job is customer service so "act" like it!! I will NEVER shop at Michael's! I don't care how good there deals are, they have the worst customer service and they know it and believe me if you have ever been to their store you know it's true! It's a hit and miss! So I am a frequent customer around the holidays. And I'm used to putting up with long lines and only one or two open check-stands. But today I witnesses something truly horrific. As I was in line, a woman who had just checked out, hadn't made it out the door yet when she turned around holding her one year old baby who was screaming and asked if anyone could help because her baby was hurt. She had evidently smashed her tiny hand in the door or cart or something, I couldn't tell from where I was standing. Immediately a customer who was at the front of my line dropped everything and ran to the little girl to try to help. The good Samaritan was obviously a nurse or doctor because she pulled a pair of glove out of her purse, and was handling it like a pro. Here comes the horrifying part... No one working the registers, not a single Michael's employee stopped to help the baby or her mother. They did not call a manager, they did not offer to call 911, or even run to get a first aid kit. They did nothing. As I left, I could finally hear sirens, and passed the woman who got out of line to help keeping pressure on the wound while on her cell phone with the 911 dispatcher. Regardless of the fact that no one knew if it was the store's fault or not, everyone in line was appalled that the employees did nothing. I don't know if there's some store policy that says if there is a bleeding baby in your store, do nothing, but that seemed to be the case today. I'm sure at some point I'll be back at this store, but if I see a manager, I'm definitely saying something. Unbelievable. read more

This place expanded out to river park from there old location on Black Stone. The new place has everything you need for arts and crafts to plastic models. I always stop at michals when taking on a diy project. Highly recommend stopping by and browsing through the aisles for inspiration. read more

This place has terrible customer service! The employees are not helpful and are unprofessional. I must have gone when they were adding inventory to shelves, but aisle ways were blocked with stacked boxes. I had to move boxes to get to what I needed and when an employee saw me doing so she didn't even offer to help. read more

I used to really love Michael's, but since I started planning my wedding, I'm never going back! I've been to this store three times over the past week or so, each time I was there for about 30 minutes before deciding I couldn't find what I was looking for. I went looking for an associate to help me and couldn't find anybody to help me find what I was looking for. When I finally found someone they were dismissive and absolutely no help! He scanned the flower I was holding (and looking for more of), said he had 36 more somewhere but couldn't help me find them! read more

I love the store but the customer service is horrible. The workers are a bit lazy and don't want to go out of their way to help you find something. I asked a worker if she could help me look in the back for an item but she said she couldn't. I then asked if another Michael's in town carried it and she said she had no way of knowing. Very poor customer service. 6 of us waited in line well over 5 minutes (at which time we gave up and left) while two clerks were checking out two customers. Three other store employees stood right near the cash registers chatting, one looked to be the manager, and never bothered to open a new register or see why it was taking so long to check out the active customers who were both already at the registers long before we even got in line. I will find a store that wants to help me purchase my merchandise in a timely manner. We left without making our purchase. read more

This is the one place that I can come in and just spend hours, upon hours here. There is so much to look at, learn from...basically your imagination runs wild as you go from one aisle to the other. I still remember the first day I walked into this store. I was immediately drawn in by the smell of cinnamon, and apples. Maybe because it was around Christmas? But they always seems to have a unique scent for every season that just makes me feel happy on the inside. And the deals are so sweet! I came in today for their 50% off on all the knitting equipment and yarn because of my grandma. And I wanted some supplies for coloring and paint. But I always seem to want more! You can literally find anything from home decor, design, hobby crafts, classes, etc. I mean, there isn't more I can say, it's just a fun store to be in. And it gets to the point of embarrassment when you're the only one ohhing, and ahhing, sometimes jumping for excitement when you find something you absolutely love! The staff is very helpful as well, and very courteous. So come in when the desire to create gets to you. You'll love it! read more

a good craft store, but i only wish they would have chinese art supplies. i know they use to have bottled sumi ink, japanese rice paper and the japanese sumi painting kit, but that's about all. i notice the store sells a how to book on chinese painting, yet they do not have any chinese art materials. but everything else is good, there are materials i need for other things i do like book binding, or wood crafts so i guess as it art store it's good, but would be better if they had chinese painting materials, because i know many that would be interested. so all in all a very decent and well stocked store. read more
