If you like to collect manga and want to see a huge variety of selections, this is the place. I really like that they also have a selection of manga in Japanese! The art book aisle is awesome. It's hard to find art books in other bookstores, and even places like Barnes and Noble won't have a selection as varied as Kinokuniya. Despite the endless aisles of manga, I've surprisingly noticed that they're missing a few decently known manga. Unless I keep missing it, I've never seen The Case Study of Vanitas in their aisle, but they have the author's other work, Pandora Hearts, in there, for example. I would also say Kinokuniya is limited with their selection of anime goodies. I like that they're all very much authentic and different from your typical anime store selling pop figures and easy to find Bandai/Banpresto stuff, but their blind box selections are also becoming easy to find in other places because it's all the mainstream shows. Overall, if you're looking to expand your collection, this is the place to go.

However, after spending over an hour in the car to try to get here from my aunt's house in Greenville, I was rudely yelled at by the owner when entering the store. "We close in 6 minutes!!!" This was the beginning of the end for me... I live in Houston so I only get to come here when I'm in town visiting family or if I make a special trip to come stock up on fabric. I happened to be in town the weekend of Easter and tried to come here on the Friday before Easter, only to find a handwritten sign on the door that they were closed (for Good Friday) and would be open again the next day. That was a bummer, but I asked my husband if we could try to come back on Saturday as I bought fabric from here previously and I needed more of it. My family in the area lives in Greenville, so it was quite a drive to get here from their house. I saw here on Yelp that they close at 4:30pm, so we rushed and I ended up walking in 6 minutes to 4pm. How do I know this? Because as soon as I walked in, the owner screamed "we close in 6 minutes!!!" at me. I responded, "online says 4:30pm and I'm from out of town". She rudely replied "well online is wrong - we've tried to fix it but it's wrong". I rushed to grab my fabric and with 2 minutes left to 4pm, she yelled from the front "are you ready to check out?!" They had already rushed everyone else (all 2 other people) out the door and I was the only one left. Listen, I get that it was a Saturday and you're trying to go home....but you weren't open the day before due to a holiday and you now have a customer in front of you who's ready to spend money and also told you that she's in from out of town... To be treated so rudely, by the OWNER, nonetheless, is absolutely unacceptable. Next time I'm in town, I'm sticking to spending my money at the other 3 fabric warehouses next door as I will NOT be coming back to this place.

Great prices... clean store... bad customer service…read more Today WOULD have been my third visit, except I was RUSHED out the door and told they were closed.. 10 minutes before they actually closed. Then the rude lady who pushed me out the door felt the need to correct me and say it was 5 minutes until closing, and that they didn't have any customers so they were closing early.. It wouldn't be a big deal but I sat in over an hour of traffic to get there and really needed 20 yards of fabric to finish a project that is to install tomorrow. Awful customer service from this particular lady.

So once I was done, I knew I wanted to go to a fabric store to recreate the candlestick photo I shared. While searching Petra's came up over and over. I now know why - their selection is incredible. They have their fabric clearly marked - detailing the type, uses, price, and dimensions. I ended up finding four fabrics that were perfect for the task at hand. The only downside to Petra's is that when you go to get your fabric measured and cut, it can be a tad confusing because there isn't a place to stand in line. Which can be a little chaotic when trying to get what you need and then purchase it. I would ask for a sign to be placed on the cutting table. Other than that small "issue," I loved shopping here and will absolutely be back!

My first visit began with me calling them because the previous night I had inadvertently left a pen in my suit jacket pocket and it leaked on the fabric. Unlike another dry cleaner who spent the whole call telling me how they can't guarantee anything & how they're unsure if they can get out the stain - this cleaner told me immediately to soak the stain in water and bring it as soon as I can; he even added that if the stain doesn't come out; there will be no charge. I thought that was a nice touch as the suit has no use to me with a giant stain that can't be removed. Flash forward, they successfully removed the stain!! I was happy to pay full price (I would say they have higher than average prices here). Then, I called today to see if I could bring in like 10 dress shirts that have random stains on them - and what would be the price & if there is any discount if they can't remove the stain.....the answer was basically $5/shirt, no discount or guarantee, and kind of an explanation of how their process works. Such a stark contrast to the last experience. I may bring some of the shirts I like more here since I know at least they have some kind of strong process to remove stains - even though it may be a complete waste if they can't get the stains out; for some of the shirts it's worth it. I wish I could find a dry cleaners that would patiently explain how they try to remove the stain (for example, is it before you put it in the machine and what makes the person decide between laundering & dry cleaning if I make it staff's choice....) & bonus if they would stand behind their work if they can't remove a stain, offering some sort of discount. Alas, the search continues.....

We had an appointment last weekend for four of us. When we arrived, we had an extra child and were told that we would be required to pay a 12% gratuity because of the size of our party. I'm unsure what the gratuity would be for. We were shown the policy - it said for parties of 6 and up - which we clarified and she said she miscounted. There was no service offered other than a brief training on how to do the craft. We were not allowed to choose our own colors but were encouraged to pick from the ones that were pre-opened to not be wasteful. When we picked our pieces, we were warned many times that we would be charged if we were wasteful in our usage of the clay - and clearly that is a subjective decision. When asked at the end any advice on getting the clay out of clothing, she said "it doesn't" - which would have been helpful to know at the beginning when you have 3 kids under 10. I asked if they had aprons - and mentioned that it would have been helpful if this doesn't come out of clothes - and she said they do, but it's only available for parties and for an extra fee. Again - communication would have been incredibly helpful up front. At the end, we were cleaning up our station and the employee asked us to put away the four remaining beads that were left on the table. It seemed like an easy way for her to help us get out the door more quickly when she had nothing else to do but sit on her phone. At the end she wrote down the dry times for our pieces - 5 days - which again - would have been helpful to know at the beginning. Lastly - they sold some glass cups that our daughters wanted. One was marked $13, one $15 for the same cup. When we asked - she said they were $15, but there is a deal at 2 for $30. Not sure where the deal is in that - and when we made that comment - she shrugged -clearly annoyed. For a unique art place such as this, where creativity and art should be encouraged - there was a very big missed opportunity in making this a special place - I won't be back.

When they finally texted me back they were clueless and rude. When I went to pick up the art after the party they had all our stuff labeled with random dates (other than the date of the event?) and asked me to see a picture to help them find our pieces. Seems like the staff does not want to be there, which isn't great for hosting a fun event with kids. Too bad, it's a nice option to bounce houses, but the customer service is off the charts awful and they are completely disorganized.
