I've never experienced something this ridiculous at Michaels. I came in, picked out and PAID for balloon bouquets, only to be told it would be a 5-hour wait to inflate them because of online orders take priority. FIVE HOURS while I'm physically standing in the store. What made it worse? One employee said there were 4 online orders ahead of me, then another (who processed my refund) said 8. Which is it? 4? 8? 20? Why does that somehow equal a 5-hour wait for something that takes minutes? There was no one else waiting in-store, yet I was told online orders come first and my only option was a refund. So you'll take my money, but can't take 5 minutes to help an in-store customer? And to further elaborate, as the employee was processing my return, I asked just one more time if they really couldn't inflate my balloons while I was there and she said no that they have 8 online orders they have to do first. I ended the short conversation with "wow, okay." This is beyond poor service, it's disorganized and unacceptable. If this is your policy, it needs to be clearly communicated BEFORE customers waste their time shopping. I expect a response from management regarding this issue, because this experience was handled terribly from start to finish. read more

The young lady with blonde hair who helped me was incredibly sweet and kind, and she put together a beautiful arrangement. I did not get her name... I drove out of my way to this location to pick up an item after work.... Must to my dismay...This restroom has not seen a deep cleaning in what appears to be months. The toilet paper was completely out in the ADA STALL. I have included the cleaning schedule photo that indicates no cleaning was done on Friday after 3 pm (the day I visited). With the pandemic being over I guess the necessity for sanitary hygiene is no longer a priority for Michael's Arts and Crafts. Now that Joann's Fabric store's closing I do my best to shop at brick and mortar stores to avoid online shopping but I gotta say that I am glad I waited the 50 minutes to get home than to try to use this facility. Some Highway service stations are cleaner than this one. I did not mention the condition of the restroom to the manager because let's be honest...if they work any shift they know the condition. They SEE IT, THEY USE IT, they ACCEPT IT. I did send these same photos to their corporate offices and NO ONE responded. I guess I am now an online shopper. read more

Who doesn't love Michael's craft store? I especially love this location because the dollar tree is right next door, it's a craft lover's dream! I love that they now gave self-checkout stations. It's so easy to use coupons. I love that I'm always able to get stuff on sale or with a discount. Their selection is huge. I always find goodies on sale. Staff is nice and helpful even if you don't see a lot of them on the floor. Once I ask, they always stop to help. I was impressed with the framing service. We got our order fast and the quality is so nice. read more

Just a joke of a business. Dirty, cluttered, impossible to find any staff willing to help. They do not honor the prices on their app which just leads to more confusion. For example, I was looking for some marker paper and searched their app to see if they had any in stock. The app listed it at $19.99 and on sale for $14.99. At the store it rang up at $21.99 and was not on sale. When I asked a member of staff about it, I was met with indifference and told they don't honor the prices on the app. So not only will it be difficult to find what you want at the store, it will be more expensive and no one will help help you. read more

Had to do a return today for some battery candles I bought just last week. They were brand new and still sealed, but I found a better deal over Black Friday, so I brought them back. The manager, Priscilla, was extremely rude from the moment I walked up. I said hello and told her I had a return she didn't even acknowledge it and immediately asked for the receipt. She then questioned whether the candles were used because "some of the labels looked off," even though they were exactly how I bought them: sealed in plastic and untouched. The strangest part was when she started lecturing me about how she believes in God and karma, and that "people will get their karma." It was completely inappropriate and made me feel like she was implying I'd done something wrong or used the candles, which I absolutely had not. I love this Michaels me and my husband always come here but today was the first time we got the worst service by their Hispanic employee named Paulina. Anywho she watched us walk in and instead of informing us they were about to close she let us walk in. As we quickly got what we needed and made our way to the front and started scanning our items she asked us if we need help scanning I kindly told her no thank you as I'm scanning 4 shirts down she asks again do I need help I again said no thank you (because I felt I was already doing fast enough and didn't want her because she was in a rush to just throw the shirt in the bags) so I continued to scan and then again she approached us asking me am I sure I don't need help I said no like how much of a rush are they in and she said very because we want to go home at this point I was truly livid because she then seen me putting tote bags I had already scanned into a bag and said did you even scan those like girl why do I have a reason to steal we're in here every other week buying from this store specifically! I just felt she was being rude and trying to insinuate we didn't scan them because she was upset I didn't allow her to scan my items and throw in the bag so crappy. And if that was the case why continue to let paying customers walk in. She could have simply avoided being rude and grumpy had she just told us when we walked in no more customers were allowed in because they were close to closing. I hope the manager reads this and lectures that girl on better customer service because it's people like her that make us not want to go back. read more

This store is located in the Falcon Ridge shopping center off the 15 freeway, next to Stater Bros and Dollar Tree. Plenty of parking, store was clean and well stocked. I've been coming to this store for years and most of the time, I find what I'm looking for. They do have 4 self-checkout stations and about 2 regular registers if I remember correctly. One thing customers in store at the time didn't seem happy about, was that there was no employee around to help those who had problems with the self-checkout or to help them at a regular register. read more

I visited the Michael's in Fontana on August 16th to pick up balloons for my grandma's 85th birthday, and I have to say the service I received was outstanding. The employee who helped me, Kat, went above and beyond. She was kind, patient, and had a great attitude that instantly made the experience enjoyable. Having worked in customer service for over 20 years myself, I can immediately tell when someone truly takes pride in their work. Kat absolutely does--she not only made sure everything was done right, but she also made me and my family smile during what was already a special occasion. It's rare to come across employees who combine skill with genuine warmth, but Kat is definitely one of them. Thank you, Kat, for making my grandma's birthday preparations even more special. I love this Michael's! Priscilla the manager is always so kind and helpful. I had a terrible experience while loading my coupon w an employee Franscis. My phone service takes a while to load in this location so I asked if she can enter the coupon as it is in the entire store printed. The service is like some places now days. They give the customer the option of scanning your items yourself. Only 1 or 2 registers to help the customers that don't want to do their own. I don't work for that company I don't want to do my own items. The employees are getting paid to do this. Very few employees at the time we were there today. Of course, the employees are nice. They are always apologetic for the Restrooms still out of order. It's been months. With the Holiday Season approaching one would hope the company would be sure to have them fixed immediately. When the Michaels website states that a particular product is available in a specific location, I've unfortunately learned to take it with a grain of salt. I understand how that works; the website stats may not be properly updated to reflect the current inventory of the stores. But repeatedly encountering this issue gets frustrating; while I understand inventory errors or a lack of updates are out of the hands of the employees, customer service is not. Today I wanted to purchase a specific binder that's on sale, so I drove out. The website conveniently provides the aisle number, but I found said aisle nearly empty. I also understand that; this is the time of year that notebooks, journals, and planners have been flying off the shelves. And unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the binder. I took a quick look at the surrounding aisles in case it was placed on an endcap or some clearance section, but no luck. So I asked an employee if she could help me, pulling up the item on my phone to show her. She groaned and asked if it was a clearance item. When I said yes, she curtly stated that if it's not in the aisle, it's not in stock. No apology, no suggestion on how else I might find the item or something similar, just that it's not in stock. Again, this is not the first time I've found myself in this situation, and not the first time I've been shrugged off when unable to locate the item I'm interested in purchasing. I understand we're all going through a rough time, but a simple apology would have been nice, or some kind of alternate suggestion such as checking other locations for me. I obviously returned home without it, and checked for it on the website once again. It seems it's still "in stock and ready to ship," so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the order I've placed gets processed. read more

This is one of my favorite stores to shop at. The service here is top notch. Plenty of employees around to assist customers. The variety of brands could be better. If you want shirts, they only have one main brand. I think if they offered more choices then people could utilize Michael's more for crafting. As it is, shopping around sometimes is necessary. I like the set up of the store. It is well organized and is very bright. The layout is consistent all of the time. I know exactly where to go to find all of my crafting needs. The only thing this Michaels could improve on, is to find better ways to advertise their events. I always find out about them after the fact. I am deducting 1 star per every problem I encountered, this is not my first time on this store so my review is not the result from only 1 visit, my review is my overall experience from the many times I visited this particular location. I have given them many chances before and never bothered to write a review. Today was the last chance I'll ever give them. -First of all, I went in looking for a letter board. I thought for sure it would be where the chalk boards and dry erase boards are located, but nothing so I tried to find someone to point me in the right direction. There was no one in sight. -Second, I found something else I needed and had a 60% sale sign above it, so I got it thinking it was a good deal. Only to find out when I went to check out that it was not on sale. I explained that it had a sale sign and even offered to go show her but instead she called someone to go check. It took forever for this person to find the item, I had to go and show her where I found it so she could see it had a sign. The cashier honored the price but you could see she had an attitude. She even told me "I would do this one time but I want you to know it is not on sale" -it's not like I was buying a dozen and wanted her to give me a discount on all of them, and it's not my fault they forget to remove/change the signs. -Third, the line was ridiculously long with at least 10 people ahead of me and only 1 cashier at 2 pm. I probably waited between 15-20 minutes in line and another 15 minutes checking out because of the item that was not on sale. -Fourth -coupons, I had a 60% coupon from Jo-Ann that they always advise they will match from competitors, and another coupon from them for 40% off. The cashier tells me I can only use one that I had to choose. I never had a problem at other Michaels stores using 2 different percentage coupon, it's even printed on their own that you CAN use one coupon of each type per day. (I attached a picture of the coupons) this means that as long as you're not using 2 or more of the same percentage coupon you should be ok, and they have to honor it. But at this point I was not in the mood to argue or to ask for a manager. I had already waisted plenty of my time there. I told her to take one item off my transaction, paid the rest and left. Needless to say I won't come back to this location again! read more

I came to michaels for bags of rocks and molding paste because I make weighted stuff animals I had purchased 13 bags, 5 lbs each, and a little bottle of modeling paste spending over $100, I checked out and had a realization that the cart can't follow me outside so I had asked a few employees for help with this issue I was refused by employees who I asked to help me walk my products to my car as I am only a 110lb 5foot female I can't carry it to my car alone and they ended up getting me a cart from the super market next door but had refused to help me transfer my items all 65lbs of rocks from one cart inside to the other cart left on the outside of the building as they watched me and in the panic I broke my modeling paste which I ended up having to return after being told i wouldn't be allowed to return it again if it happens again, there will not be a next time I won't be coming back, and I had to travel out of my way to a whole new michaels to get my modeling paste I was very displeased and extremely anxious through this encounter with your employees I won't be doing business here again. read more

I didn't want to add to the already overwhelmingly bad reviews for this store but i recieved terrible service here. I am also a former manager of Michael's so I have very high standards for how a store should be run. I asked a older lady with braids if she could open the restroom for me as it had an electric lock and without even looking at me she answered in a very rude tone, "it's already open." I was very taken aback by this response, but whatever, I don't think anything of it. I go to the bathrooms and ooen the door and the smell of feces is so overwhelming I almost walked out. The floor is filthy and the trash cans were over flowing with garbage. The sinks also had hard water stains all over. I just felt so gross using these bathrooms. I walk out of the bathrooms and start browsing and the whole store is a mess. There's product all over the floor and the shelves and nothing is in the right place. If you're going to be rude to your customers like that you need to at least keep your store clean, you can't be both rude and have a dirty store. Also, there were almost no workers to be found anywhere throughout the store. I do not blame the store for this, I blame the corporation as a whole because this store needs more hours and better people to get in here and get this store clean. However, management needs to train their employees better on recovery. As a manager, my store never looked this even when we were shortstaffed so there is no excuses here. Overall, managers and corporate need to work together and get this store into shape because I do not want to come back here at all. read more

First off I went there to find paint, and the girl that help me find the paint I showed her the picture and she said oh we don't have that one try Lowes she didn't even try to attempt to help me find something similar. And there website had similar ones but because she was rushing me she walked away. Then I found the one I needed and she sent someone else to help me because she didn't want to help me. She kept rushing me to hurry up. I had some vinyl that was given to me as a birthday gift that I was trying to do an even exchange on because the one I had was given to me for a different cricket and they refused to exchange it and said I should ask my friend for the receipt of my gift. This review is only for one individual, Tim. This review could have easily been one star plus awful review, but Tim saved y'all. I had ordered an art supply online with Summit being my main store, but somehow the order was put for the Rancho location. I attempted to call the customer service line, but the connection was bad. I almost popped a vein from anger, and I was about to cancel the whole order. Tim came in with excellent customer service and wit. I got what I came for without having to do much stressing or effort. I've decided that Michaels is slowly becoming one of my least favorite craft stores to go to.. Their "aisle of paper" is said to have cardstock.. but all of it is very flimsy.. cheap.. flimsy and cheap. I guess I shouldn't be too picky.. it's a craft store that specializes in ALL crafts.. not just the paper.. So, in terms of papercrafts, I'd definitely go to Wootens or Paper Source..
