I came in to browse as usual. I like walking from the beads section to the acrylic paint section, polymer clay, and kit section, then over to the canvas to check prices, and to the holiday section. It's just a nice quiet place to browse art supplies. I came in knowing I wanted to pickup yarn for my "Crochet Kirby Project". I ended up picking the brand Loop and Thread. It had the colors I needed. I really couldn't find velvet plush texture yarn, so Loop and Thread would do. I was just excited to get materials to finally start crocheting. I did buy crochet hooks the last time I was in Michael's, so I walked toward the line for cashier. I don't trust store wifi to work WHEN I need it to. SO, before I walked into the store, I grabbed a coupon from the Michael's app and screenshotted it. There's a 40% coupon code for regular items, so always check the Michael's app before going to the cashier. I walked out of Michael's with yarn I was happy with.

I have been shopping at this Michael's since even before they moved to the current location, a very long time ago! They helped my grown children with their elementary school projects. I shopped for yarns for an elderly neighbor. I bought lots of craft stuff because in my head it all seemed so simple... Sure I used to finish projects & crafts. Not so much anymore. This store sure has some nice stuff in it though. Pretty baskets the silk flowers are beautiful. Do you like to build models with your kids? They have that too. Jewelry making? The beads & baubles are waiting for you. Is scrapbooking your thing? Its all there waiting for you. They carry holiday & wedding supplies and decorations too! Art supplies & paints for the big kids and little ones too. Games and sewing supplies and some very nice upscale photo albums & frames. Wrapping paper and knickknacks... Coupons can be found in the newspaper or you can join the frequent flyer program and they will email them to you...

Latest additions from beads I bought Sunday!

I am a beader and I always find something good here. I have only ever been once where there was a particular bead I was looking for they did not have The 12 mm cracked quartz. The staff is pleasant, patient and allow me to zone out and be in that bead aisle for hours if I like (while I mentally make bracelets and look for all of the elements). I got 70% off on beads this week and an additional 20% off of the entire purchase. Just WOW. The canvas sales make you want to paint. Lol. So I have been painting as well. Great starter acrylic sets that go in sale frequently. Creating is a necessity and this store has what it takes to satisfy the urge to make something beautiful! The manager's name eludes me but her being awesome sticks.

    70-inch custom frame & mount

Great team in the framing department! I had two very large custom frames done during a big sale and right before Christmas. Despite it being very busy and all the stress from Covid the employees were upbeat, personable, and kept it together. There was a mistake with one of my orders but Christina reached out to me and notified me of the problem and offered a generous remedy before I even came in. It was both very honest and saved me from the disappointment of coming in and being surprised with the problem. I'm not sure that the quality of the frames would have been worth the full non-sale price, but I suppose a 70-inch frame isn't going to be inexpensive anywhere!

I'm beyond happy with my recent experience from Michaels Framing Department- I had the pleasure of working with Melanie, who did an exceptional job with my request. She answered my questions, addressed my needs, and was all around super friendly throughout the whole process. Once I picked up my order, I was blown away on how she really brought out the artwork. Thank you Melanie! I'll be back :)

No time limit and I like the tray they give. Easy to turn and paint. I also like the squeeze paint bottles that's helpful when doing fine lines. There are plenty of supplies: consisting of sponges, brushes, water cups, pencils and erasers. I brought my friend here for her birthday and we just spent 3 hours painting, listening to music and chatting. We visited on a Sunday and it was quiet/peaceful, not too crowded. Definitely will visit this place again in the future to paint more pottery.

NO STUDIO FEES, so all you are paying is the price listed on the pottery itself. The store has a good amount of tables for parties of 2-4. And also 2 rooms dedicated for birthday or corporate parties. There's also 1 restroom onsite. As well as a separate sink outside the restroom to wash your hands when needed. They have a small selection of snacks and drinks for purchase, but still a nice option. It's a clean environment and the young staff are very friendly. Music is often playing in the background while you concentrate on your painting. My only recommendation for improvement is to provide a more sturdy plate or tray for the paint. Currently customers just squirt the paint on a card stock paper (similar to the size of a large index card) and are supposed to take that back to the table for painting pottery. It would feel much more secure and sturdy to carry with an actual tray or paper plate for the paint. I also felt like the paint was dripping off the edges of the paper since there was no lip and paint colors kept merging together since the paper index card wasn't laying flat. They also could have offered a few more paint color options. All in all, it was a great experience and so nice to have a crafty activity close to home. Pottery is usually ready for pick up within 1 week. Candles are ready to be taken home same-day.

She chose the clay art activity with a "Sea Friends" theme because it sounded creative and exciting for the kids, but the actual experience did not meet expectations at all. There were only three very simple animal designs offered, which was far too limited for a two-hour birthday party and not engaging enough to keep the children interested. The employees assisting with the activity did not appear to be properly trained to host or manage a children's party. Their instructions were unclear, they spoke very softly, and there was little enthusiasm or interaction with the kids. The atmosphere felt dull and unorganized instead of fun and energetic like a birthday celebration should be. Many of the children lost interest quickly because there was no excitement, guidance, or effort to keep them engaged. What was most disappointing was that, despite booking a two-hour party, the actual clay activity lasted only around 40 minutes. After that, there was very little for the kids to do, leaving them bored and restless for most of the remaining time. As a parent spending money to create a memorable milestone birthday for my daughter, I expected a much better-planned and professionally hosted experience. I chose this place hoping it would create happy memories for my daughter and her friends, but instead it turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience for both the kids and the parents attending the party.

Prices here were sooo much better than all the places I've found online which is also have to pay extra for shipping. She also even rolled the yarn into a ball for me before we left. The explanation was easy to understand and the tools were cute. The pricing goes either by hour or by board, whichever is lesser. We opted for two small boards and one medium board. There is a wide variety of colors for selection as well as different transparencies. Since we were new to perler beads, our start was a little slow but eventually we got the hang of it. At one point, I reached a dilemma. I wanted to make Momonga but she wouldn't fit in the remaining space of my board. Just then, the instructor came by and chatted with me. I told her my dilemma and after a brief moment, she suggested making the tail in the empty corner of my board and later attach it by jump ring. Brilliant. I noticed she often checked up on people's projects, answered questions, and chatted with them about the characters they were making (both for my group and the tufting group behind us). She dropped by to show me the perler Momonga her coworker made (very cute!). Later, she came back excited, and showed me another idea I could use for Momonga's tail. She showed me a pivot attachment that would make it so the tail would be attached in the back and swing around. She asked if I wanted to try this instead. Yes thank you, it's absolutely perfect!! I wish I got the instructor's name but I was too shy to ask at the end (agh). She was so kind, helpful, and relatable. She really made my crafting experience great and I'm so happy to have had her on my birthday!!

They let me stick around even though I hadn't signed up, so I just took pictures of the process. For the tufting session, you pick a flat image of what you want to make ahead of time. The instructor then will give advice on how to go about putting together your creation. After that, you link the image to the projector and it projects onto your canvas. You then outline the image. Then comes the fun part: the tufting tutorial. The instructor spends about thirty minutes teaching everyone how to use the tufting gun and then has each person practice on a large canvas. After that, you pick your yarn color and tuft away! Apparently, it took four hours for my friends to complete their tufted rugs, but they turned out so cute! They even stayed open past closing hours to let my friends finish. We need more artistic spaces like this.

My daughter chose the front and the lady stated if she wants the back done then bring it back. Well today I brought it back to have the back embroidered. The same lady stated she couldn't do it, because the parka was used. I told her I was told they would do the job. She asked who and I said someone knowing full well it was this rude lady who told me a year ago. She then goes on and tells me she can't do it, because it could ruin her machine and if I have a disease it can be transferred. I couldn't believe what she said and was appalled.
