This is a horrible dealership! What a rip off! Beware of their schemes! I works NEVER buy here or suggest other do either! I purchased a used 2010 BMW 328i for around $13,000 before financing (after it cost me around $20,000 mind you which isn't my problem....). I was more than willing to purchase the vehicle at they said it had no issues, ran and looks great! Well the car looked wonderful and on the surface, when test driving it it did appear to have no issues... Within the first 6 months is buying the car I had to put $7,000 cash out of my own pocket for repairs. I have receipts and a video from the BMW dealership whereas they said that my kids and I were lucky that the car didn't catch on fire because of faulty repairs previously done prior to my purchasing the vehicle. That was just the start of the whole ordeal. To save money I brought the car to a reputable foreign car repair shop to get the repairs done cheaper after the initial repairs at the BMW dealership, whereas I was told the car needed an additional $5,000 on repairs due to leaking gaskets and other issues with the car! Plus the drop hard top convertible retractor stopped working, the drivers side window stopped working, and there were additional electrical issues that needed to be completed as well which would further up the cost from $5,000 (ADDITIONAL dollars from the already $7,000 I already shelled out!). At this point, I called the financing company and told them about the while ordeal as Micheal Motor Cars was informed of this trouble around our before the 6 month mark of my having the vehicle whereas they ONLY would agree to send me a $1,000 check towards everything!).I did take the check to put towards the initial $7,000 repair, but didn't know any everything else yet... All in all, within a year of owing the car and NEVER missing a payment I put over $10,000 i for repairs of my very own money! By the time I called the finance company, I told them I had enough of this vehicle and that I wanted it picked up ASAP to voluntarily surrender the vehicle. That I wasn't putting any more money into this LEMON of a vehicle! They came and picked it up, sold it for less than $3,000, put that towards what I owed and slapped me with a $8,5000 Bill for the reminder of the balance! My credit score which I worked so hard to keep high, lowered over 125 points! And will remain in my credit report for 7 years unless I pay for a lemon or a car that I do not have any longer! What a nightmare this ordeal has been, moreover, dealing with Michael's Motor Cars! I thought that they were a relatable dealership, that since an employee is theirs even previously owned the BMW I was purchasing, and that the way they all represented themselves that I was getting a good deal and in good hands! Well I wasn't, nor will you be! I should have some my homeworj - had the vehicle inspected by my personal mechanic/the BMW dealership and also look at reviews both from Google and Yelp as they have some pretty messy and nasty comments that I hadn't previously seen! Horrible cars. They look good, but the cars will without a doubt need major work soon after purchase. They also will not let you take to your mechanic before purchase. Not worth the risk. Do not recommend buying a vehicle from this place. Do your research on the carfax, because they are selling vehicles with a history of damage. They emailed me claiming that the carfax front end damage was "just a scratch and we know the previous owners", but they refused to provide any pictures of the prior damage as proof. Very shady business and they are way high on their prices for selling vehicles that have a history of damage. read more

Many years ago I was in car sales and this place is what gives car sales a bad name. I went to look at a high end SUV on their lot. I took some time checking it out before going to the sales office to get some help. I was told the owner was using it but he was out and would be back soonish. They said it was unlocked, so I went to look inside. It was filthy. I asked if I left my number would they call me when he gets back with the keys so I could test drive it? His response...our insurance doesn't allow test drives, we can drive it with you in it. Really? This whole time neither salesman got up or even asked my name. It was around $65,000 that I wound up getting elsewhere. Lazy and liars. I really wish I had called them out on their lies on the spot but was taken aback at such a lazy lie read more

They were also very patient and understanding when my bank had issues transferring funds for the purchase and I was out of the country trying to straighten it out. They are everything that is Ugly about Used Car Salesmen... Unless one can go to their car lot, to view their vehicles with a Mechanic, I would not trust their words... DO NOT buy anything from them off the internet... This past Winter I was in need of a PickUp w/ SnowPlow... Being limited to what was around my area, I shopped on-line... From the photos, this 2011 Ram looked nice... At $15,000. it was at the top of Book Value, (+tax)... After many phone calls with 2 salesmen, and an AssHole of a GM. who reassured me that "My List" (condition of tires, breaks, etc.) was being met with Honesty and Truthfulness... It wasn't, they Lied, on many things... Right off the bat, as I got to view it for the first time off the transport truck, I see somethings are not right... Keyfob, 1 headlight, windshield washer were not working... em. handbrake release missing, all things that if viewed on their lot, would have been issued right there... But since they had a "Pigeon" on the phone, they were Dishonest... They Lied about the Tires... And after taking it to a mechanic, it cost me another $2500. (needed breaks, oil pan, trans lines, etc) ... Add to this, new tires and keyfob... Yes, it's a nice truck... But the money that is into it, is a lot more than its value... Meaning I got Screwed by Unreputable Used Car Salesmen... DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE... read more

I purchased a Range Rover a few months ago from Michael's and couldn't be happier. The whole process was pressure free and transparent. No hidden fees or surprises. These guys pick good cars and stand behind them. Even after the sale is done, they are there to help. Along with the vehicle, I purchased an extended warranty, which I usually never do because I have heard nothing but negative things. Chris and Joe assured me that this was a good warranty company that would take care of any covered item. Sure enough, the few things that have come up with the car have been taken care of promptly by the warranty company. Michael's even has a very good service department, which I have used a few times. Utterly disrespectful - Chris was the worst! I had called the previous day about one of their cars, was liking what I heard (Mind you, dealer was friendly enough over the phone.), so the next day I made the three-and-a-half-hour train ride down there to make an offer. Chris wasn't available the moment I got there, so the other seller that was there handed me the key and I went out on my own (Already a bit of a red flag, in my opinion, but okay.) to go take a look at the car, and I immediately noticed a two-inch puddle of water and ice in the front passenger foot-well - a big problem when talking about rust under the car, and an expensive repair. I checked the engine and saw that it needed some work, and finally the employee came out to greet me. I told him when he asked, "It's nice; I have some concerns, and if you don't mind I'd like to run a couple of my own tests." Whenever I inspect a used car I always do things like check the exhaust fumes with the engine revving up to make sure it isn't burning oil or anything like that, and have the seller turn the wheels so I can get a good look at suspension components to look for rust. He told me, "I don't want to do that... I don't want to waste my time." EXCUSE ME? First of all, I'm a customer and it's your job to sell the car to ME, and with a multi-thousand-dollar purchase I expect at least a LITTLE flexibility. Second, I get that you were chilly outside on the lot and I wanted you to stay out there a little longer than two minutes with me while I did my thing which I'm sure nobody has ever asked you to do before, but when you consider the fact that I walked from the nearest train station nearly a mile away in Bradley Beach to get to you, I think it makes sense to just say, "Okay, let me go run inside real quick and grab a jacket." Anyway, we went back inside to talk, and I pointed out the problems I mentioned above to him (most notably the water damage), and he stuck to the point of, "Our techs will look at it and make sure everything is in working order before you take it off the lot." Fair enough, but I know the particular car I was looking at to have chronic head-gasket issues which can be disastrous and costly should preventative measures not be taken, and I could tell that this case was already developing a problem by looking at the coolant system being a very strange color. Bottom line, when I pointed out all these costly problems to him, he brushed it all off and took me for a fool, expecting me to pay him full sticker price for a hooptie! My guess was he got a little intimidated by a young person like me who actually had the guts to challenge him and knew what they were talking about, and when I made an offer, he answered, "Ha! That's an insult." Then pulled the card of, "You know, that's not how these things work," and, "It's simple supply and demand," as I attempted to negotiate and meet in the middle. To top it all off, after I stood up to leave, the other seller who handed me the key at first finished me off with another, "Don't waste peoples' time," which honestly made me feel like garbage. Sorry, but I'm not stupid just because I'm young, and you should never treat your customers like they're in any way below you regardless of how young or old they are. We're all adults in the end, so I suggest the people at Michael's Motorcars learn to act like it. read more

I would highly NOT reccommend this place to anyone that is serious about purchasing à vehicle. I emailed the dealer about à vehicle they emailed me back and said it was available. I called and talk to the Salesman told him i was from out of state with financing already. And wanted to fly in to see and drive it.. he says we can do a video walk around at 3pm so at 5pm i called bk to let him know we had that time set up, he says im sending à video rt now i never got it the video. So i called bk he was gone for the day..i talk to the owner which he was the dad , i told him the story and how important this vehicle was he says dont worry he will call you bk , you can fly here and drive it bk..the very next day i get a email from the salesman sayin he sent me a email and i didnt respond this is BS I talk to him 2times after the email also. And he also told me it was sold to someone locally..This was unethical and very unprofessional.. read more

Reputable for a reason. I have seen first-hand that Michael runs a dealership that is honest and based on good-will.

Bought a 2001 Toyota Tundra about 2 months ago. Had reservations since there was rust on the undercarriage but Toyota replaced the frame. Went to see the truck 2 times, brought up the rust issue and the sales rep (Joe) told his mechanic to spray the undercarriage since he has had 6-8 people look at the truck and walk away because of the rust. I wound up leaving but thought I would endeavor on cleaning up the rusty parts on my own with my son (father/son project). When I went back, their mechanic did indeed just spray undercoating over the rust to hide it, he didn't clean it up 1st. Still, my son and I were willing to get our hands dirty and go to work. As part of the deal, I PAID Michael's $2500 to address several maintenance issues: tune-up (plugs, air filter, fuel filter), timing belt, flush coolant, change all fluids (power steering, brakes, trans, front and rear differential), fix the 4x4 actuator which wasn't disengaging, fix the clunk noise from a stop (U-joints) and most importantly, fix the leaking front and rear differential and replace any worn items in the front end (ball joints, etc) and do a 4 wheel alignment. While several items were addressed, I feel they short-cutted several items to pocket my money and failed to fix the leaks and clunk, telling me it was a "big job" and the leaks "weren't bad", and to address the clunk they simply lubed the u-joints. I expected to get a reliable vehicle that I paid to be leak free and up to date on maintenance, and even told them if they found issues to let me know and we will address them so we didn't have to deal with them later. Well...short cuts were taken and as a result, several thousand dollars later I am still fixing problems that continue to pop up. The leak in the rear was rust through on the differential cover, which had to be cut off and a replacement welded on by a fabricator. Michael's did refund me for the part but refused to pay me for the labor to repair the cover, which should have been addressed at the start as part of the deal as identified in the contract. The front leak turned out to be a torn boot on the drivers side CV axle which now has to be replaced. The clunk turned out to be extremely loose leaf spring clamps. Now the truck puffs blue smoke at start-up, both shocks and struts are leaking and have to be replaced, and it cost me $2800 in repairs to the undercarriage to address all of that rust as it was beyond our capability to repair in our driveway. Both bumpers and rear bumper supports looked like swiss cheese, everything had to be replaced (above and beyond the $2800 bill). The tires are being replaced as well due to dry rot and wear, and the fog lights are being replaced since the seals are shot and they have water inside. Oh, and the battery died and had to be replaced as well. The salesman I worked with initially (Joe) was very friendly and kept selling me on the "Toyota Reliability", then when issues arose and I contacted Michael's, I was sent to Chris, who let me be perfectly clear, is nothing short of a total "salesman" in every respect of the word, he will say whatever you want to hear to sell a car, but when it comes to issues you find during or after the deal is done, he says "it IS a used vehicle with 130K miles on it, it's not new". Funny, Joe kept telling me how reliable the truck was since it was a "Toyota"....... Hide the problems, sell the vehicle, and deny liability for problems seems to be their motto to me. I'd thoroughly inspect a vehicle and get a warranty in writing on the contract if you ever decide to purchase a car from Michaels, I won't be visiting again nor would I recommend purchasing a vehicle from them based on my experience. This business fits the definition of what you hear about a "Used Car Dealer", buyer beware. Bad lesson learned for me. read more
