Went in there and the store was huge! I loved the help from the sales people on the sales floor. When it was time to pay there were 3 people ahead of me and 3 people behind me and only one cashier. I like Michaels but I am not giving 4 stars because the line can get very long and sometimes, the service is not consistent. There are 2 main reason why I like them, you can get discount on frames (up to 60%) and if you purchase something, you might get 40% discount for single item for your next shopping. The frame are ok but for the price, I am not complaining. My wife love Michaels for handicraft and I love Michael for their cheap frame for gift and myself. read more

The staff is really nice and helpful for finding where specific items are. The thing I don't like about craft stores is how messy things can get with the customers constantly looking through supplies and putting items anywhere on the shelves if they decide they no longer want them. no one that works in this store knows what they are talking about. okay, MOST of the people. there are 1 or 2 employees in the entire place that do. I wanted chalkboard paint, i asked one girl near the front and she said some random aisle, after looking for it for 10 mins i ask another person, they tell me the aisle over. go search there, and ask a guy who tells me that they don't even carry it. FINALLY i find a girl that knows what she is doing, and points it right out to me (3 aisles away from what the other two girls said). you shouldnt need four people to show you where one damn can of paint is! another time i needed chalkboard pens (i asked for them by brand name) and two different people told me they dont carry them, so i was going to order them offline. then i saw them there in the cage behind the register! wtf, two people told me they dont even have them. i will continue to go because it is convenient, but their customer service is sorely lacking. read more

Ugh, I hate this specific store. They NEVER have paper craft items in stock. I've asked and this is the excuse I get. "Uhm, well, people steal the items so we keep them up front, just ask up front." I ask up front and this is what I hear, "if it is not on the shelf we are out of stock. I can't tell you when it will be in stock you should keep checking back." Is that acceptable customer service?? I've talked to the store manager who really could care less about the out of stock items, the lack of customer service or basically anything that relates to the job other than the pay check. I generally like the Michaels chains, and this is a okay location as long as you DO NOT USE THE BATHROOM!!!! I had to take my potty training 3 year old to go and I was HORRIFIED! It was the dirtiest bathroom I have ever been in (no joke...and yes, that's compared to all the port-o-potties and gas station spots). There was literally old poop dried to the front of the toilet in the larger stall. The sinks looked like they hadn't been washed in MONTHS! Toilet paper rolls were on top of the toilets. Seriously, this was worse than the worst Frat bathrooms I remember from college! Even the garbage can is covered in nastiness! I was there at 9am so there is no excuse for it to look this gross. CLEAN UP YOUR ACT MICHAELS! If I could give less than one star, I would! read more

I love finding new craft ideas here and the staff is always helpful. The lines can get a bit long since the shopping center is really busy.

Again, as others have said, great customer service. Now that they, and many other stores, have devices that tell staff where something is located, or if they don't carry it, it's less bother for new/holiday staff to remember everything, and it's very helpful for the customer as well. The other day, I went to return one of their fabulous "glam witch" hats, without tag OR receipt. It's felt, so I was going to overheat in five minutes, and I have run out of hat box space (I have full hatboxes from floor to ceiling) for a crown that doesn't collapse. I also had two floral stems that were lacking some of the flowers, and wanted to exchange them. I was told they couldn't find my purchase record of the hat, but to try finding a match with a tag on the shelf. I went looking, and brought back The Wrong Purple Hat. The cashier pointed out that I'd brought back the wrong model, having confused the trim, so I took the hat I was returning from the stack it had been on, and looked at the trims carefully. I had just picked up a match, when the cashier came over, told me I had the right one, and we completed the transaction. She was very sweet about it, and I apologized for being a ditz. I love the service attitude there, as well as the better-than-most selection. I just hope the staff are paid more than minimum, for their superior performance. read more

This place is pricey but its the best michaels out there. Their selection of stuff is like 50% more than the one in milpitas!! I only first went here like a couple of months ago. I cant believe ive been going to the milpitas michaels all this time, this place has so much more selection! The staff is also okay-friendly. If you need help they usually know where to find the stuff. The store is really huge though, you could really get lost here. Also 40% off coupons in the mail every other week! This location had very poor customer service. We called to have a paint pen put on hold and they said they'd have it here waiting for us. When we arrived the pen was nowhere to be found. However it wasn't this situation that made a bad impression it was the fact that the lady in charge told us that we were wrong and called the wrong location. Saying it wasn't their fault but ours. After leaving the store we called the same number we had called in the beginning of all this and sure enough it was the correct number. read more

Customer service is great here! I needed some assistance and I asked a guy who works in the framing counter. He was vey helpful. He assisted and gave me tips on what to do on the project I'm working on. He went out of his way to show me which ones were better and carefully explained to me the purposes. It's definetly not my fav Michaels, but it's not too bad. There is always parking and the store is large, however there is never a salesperson when you have a question and I think the Michaels stores in general are very over priced. I recommend Jo Ann fabrics over Michaels (at least from a scrap booking perspective). It's worth a visit, but if you can get to a different location, go there. read more

The last few times I've been here (and I come here a lot!), I've noticed that the workers are in really pissy moods. I don't think any of them enjoy working there at all, and they don't smile and aren't very helpful when you ask about something. I would suggest relying on the store's signage system to navigate yourself. read more

There isn't anything about this Michael's that stands out in my mind to make it soar above the competitive craft stores. That being said - you'll find what you're looking for, and pay a reasonable price for it at Michael's. I came in looking for red fabric paint - they had lots of choices. I ended up with a red fabric marker (next time I'll go with the paint). They have an efficient queue system in the cashier area. There was tons of stuff on sale (but it was only a few days before Halloween). On the down side, the parking area there is always a huge hassle - too many cars, not enough stalls. read more

Do they restock like once a month? Pretty poor inventory and the shelves are a mess. Sure I can understand certain aisles like this but one week later and everything is the same? I've only had one good interaction with an employee there, the rest have left much to be desired. The company just must not place an importance on customer service. I came in last week to do some basket & bouquet item shopping. Unfortunately this place was literally cleared out of basket related items. The white and beige shredded stuffing paper was all out (I even asked someone there and they said "what's on the wall is what we have"... That's hard to believe). Then as I was walking towards the baskets, a female employee stops (dead stop) in front of me while talking to another employee (I almost got murdered by her shopping cart). And I was sort of disappointed b/c there were no flower stems on clearance (but I think that's per location). I like the fact that this store is spacey and newer than most locations, but it's a hit or miss experience for me. read more

I cant rant and rave enough about the customer service I received by the manager. I had a broken marquee sign that I got for my wedding. The day of it dint work and then I proceeded to try to fix it when I came back from my honeymoon. I was not going to give up that easily. I wanted this to go into my new ( and empty) pinterest dream home. Sadly, I tried my best to no avail. I went and approached the Micheal manager and he gave me back full credit on the thing without the receipt or having to here my lengthy story. The customer service was superb and I couldn't be more satisfied with how he went above and beyond! Two thumbs way up micheals. I shall be coming to this location more often. read more

I'm a sucker for great customer service. I've worked in Customer Service before and I know how hard it is to deal with customers. Here at Michaels, I was treated great. Everybody was so friendly and very helpful. It was my first visit to this branch (I've been to other branches before) and I didn't know how their stuff was arranged so I was lost and in a hurry. Everybody was so helpful. I found all the stuff I needed quickly and the cashier was so friendly. I love having that happy air around. They even gave me 40% discount. Wow. I'm hooked! This store is big, clean, organized, and full of arts and craft goodies. Really easy to find what you need.

I get all my art supplies from this store, which I prefer over the other locations. It's never crowded although the store is sometimes understaffed, which results in long lines. The aisles are organized and it's easy to find what you're looking for. The prices are what you'd expect at a typical arts & crafts store so it's no better or worse than the other local places. I like that they have everything I need for oil painting from canvas, brushes, paint, and cleaning solution. They also have artist grade paint, which isn't even listed on their website. The store is conveniently located in the same plaza as Target, Trader Joe's, Chase bank, and Starbuck's,among many other places. read more

Came here for crafts to complete my Burning Man Mary Poppins themed plan. Easily found the paint and fake flower items I needed. I even found flower wire and tape as well. I had to ask for help getting the spray paint since it's locked up and I guess they don't trust their customers too well because my helper promptly brought the cans up to the front of the store to be retrieved upon my checkout. However, they were waiting for me diligently when I was all done shopping, so I guess I can't complain too much. read more

We took a piece to be framed at Michael's on Coleman. Andrea took our order. It was ready a week later although they didn't call like they said they would. It was a mess . . . the mat was cut wrong, and you could see it was off center. The back was sticky. We took it back. Debbie, the manager, said they had fired Andrea. She said they'd reframe it and have it ready for Christmas. Then they called and said they had to reorder the mat but they'd still have it ready. We picked it up yesterday (the day before Christmas Eve). The whole thing was off center. Apparently Andrea hadn't ordered enough frame and rather than tell us that, they framed it anyway, maybe hoping we wouldn't notice? They gave us our money back, but now we don't have it for the holiday and the whole business was incredibly unpleasant. Debbie says they're the same as Aaron Brothers but I can't believe that . . . we've had things framed at Aaron and they were well done. read more

This Michaels is propably one of the best in the bay area, that i've been to aside from the location Cupertino. The employees are always very helpful. This particular reason i'm writing is that they were having a sale on cricut cartridges, that were regularly 69.99 reduced to 9.99. If you are a scrapbook person/card maker you know what a steal that is. There were a couple titles I was looking for and after driving to many locations I called coleman to have them check stock. Gabriela went above and beyond to search for the particular cartridges and held them for me. I was then told that the sale hadn't started at their store, however a supervisor called another location to verify and I was given the price. I think it is strange how all of the stores have different pricing on items at any given time. Sometimes it is 5.00 sometimes 60.00 difference. Just know what you are looking for and what prices you know they go for at other places. Other than that the scrapbook section is very organized, and the staff is very friendly. read more

The worst customer service I've ever encountered. When I go to this location I can never seem to find an employee around and if I do find one they are in the back of the store gossiping and not paying attention to the customers around them. The few times I've had to call I've always been placed on hold and 10 mins later I have yet to have someone help me until I call back and ask them to please find someone who does have time- then I get rude remarks like "well what do you want, what do you need?" I was in customer service for 8 years- I would never dare to talk to anyone like they what they are asking me is an annoyance. If only the employees could match the great quality of products they carry, they'd get 5 stars. read more
