Looking for arts and crafts. :)

Seems like in today's shopping we have so many amazing places to pick for Arts and crafts project's. I needed to get out of the house and had a day off on the weekend. SO I went to Michael's and browse..... I am busy by choice and not by default. So I took the day off on the weekend. YES, weekend. I came while during the pandemic and they are open. I am currently looking for a more sturdy book cover to protect a book I helped publish via Alarm Press/Kickstarter. I came across a customer service rep and It seemed as though you can make a cover with materials which is why I came here, but I think Ill need to think outside of the box for this one. As is required in creative projects IMHO. Large isles and massive stock of amazing things really! Enso# 55 +- Amazing coupons Large store Enough to lay a solid foundation Online stock. _ A warm sunset and a heart full of hope!

I go to this Michael's so often I call it Mike's. This one has great workers, is always well-staffed, and it's full of all kinds of craft.

It was so hard to go and get this custom piece of art of my dog that died . Maggie was the one who helped me . She was so patient and kind whiles we cried a few times . She took her time helping us choose matte and framing for us . It came out so beautiful. Thank you so much for your help Maggie . You provided customer service above and beyond what we were expecting and I thank you for that . Thank you for your sympathy and the suggestions provided .

I've been going to this Michaels for over 15 years. The store is well stocked and has a variety of products for every crafters dream. It is a toy store for those with a multitude of hobbies from baking, jewelry making, knitting, scrapbooking, ready made craft kits for the kids, model car kits, photo frames, tie dying and more. Oh year if you have a bridal or baby shower or wedding there are is a section for you to for making party favors! The staff is always so helpful and ask if you need any help and the cashiers are pleasant. Line can be a little long occasionally during peak hours but it moves fast.

This review is for Chris in the Aaron Brothers custom framing section of Michaels. I've been coming to this store location for at least 30 years often dragged with my mother when I was young, to pick up art supplies when I was a teenager and in my twenties, and now periodically to get items framed. Last night I spent 2.5 hours with my wife and Chris to solve the best route for framing three items that hang together for my media room. One oversized signed print by Brian Froud, another a shadow box containing a hand drawing and crystal shard from the dark crystal, and the final a shadow box of the doubloon from the Goonies. I'm an 80s child what can I say. Anyway, there is a lot of thought that goes into these three projects. The media room has existing art and furniture that the artwork must compliment. Chris did a fantastic job 1.) understanding the type of art and coming up with creative solutions each step of the way (it requires some creativity to hang a crystal shard), 2.) explained to us the options available at each point and was efficient working their mock up & custom frame machine, 3.) kept being patient and engaged throughout all 2.5 hours. Honestly, that's fairly rare these days for chain stores but Chris was amazing. Yes custom frames are fairly expensive there, but they often have sales that will help with the cost, and if you work with someone like Chris you'll think they deserve every penny.

my custom frame job, absolutely beautiful!!!!

No one here to help. I keep ringing the bell. So.....this place is going down the drain.

Once again, another incident I witnessed....I told the cashier Rose (who is always very nice) that a man ran out with a bag, Rose ran over to look outside. Then this rude lady named Veronica (who I found out was the manager) yelled at Rose I'm front of ke and other customers in line shouting "Take care of the customers first!" And literally THREW A BAG AGAINST THE WALL saying "here's the bag!" This is complete childish, disrespectful behavior. I told Rose that I was appalled and will be reporting this. Other customers were saying it was rude along with me. Everytime I come here, something always happens.

    No art supplies

With Aaron Brothers gone no thanks to Michaels making that decision AND University Art gone I thought Michaels would have a perfect opportunity to step up their game. WRONG! I went to buy 2 paint brushes (because I'm an artist who has supply needs) and they don't have hardly any brushes stocked. Plenty of crappy (beginner) multipacks though. Michaels has plenty of craft kits for those who would like to try to be "artsy" but 2 aisles of actual canvas', pens, sketch pads and paint supplies. It's all crammed in 2 aisles. This place now carries Barbies though and plenty of them. Goodbye forever Michaels. Ps. Real artists hate your store.

The parking is OK. I couldn't find anyone to answer a question, and the device to call an employee didn't yield any response.

I could have cut the fabric myself and finish the transaction in the amount of time I wasted. I was tired of being patient so I decided to explore other areas. My sewing project for the evening just wasn't meant to be today. Oh my goodness. I travelled to the craft area of wood projects, paint by numbers, diamond art, etc. and what a mess. A total turnoff. Eventually I made my way to Christmas and that was an area waiting for a disaster to happen. Boxes and carts everywhere. Yes, merchandise needs to be restocked and displayed but you literally could not walk solo down the isles safely. I'm sorry to say I headed to the front and left my cart. Something I have never done anywhere. I go out the door to find the escalator non-op and the elevator was stuck open! I had to hobble down the broken escalator with a bum knee to head on home empty handed. It is highly recommended that heavy merchandising, restocks and resets occur before or after posted open hours. My visit was during the beginning of peak time at 2pm.

The process is fairly simple, you go in and pick your ceramic pieces to paint. Each ceramic piece has a different cost, and then there is a fee charged on top of that per painter. Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2015…read more My mom's cousin, whom I call uncle passed away one month ago today. On my list of things to do during the funeral preparation was to find someone to embroider his chef jacket. His family decided on keeping his executive chef jacket, hence my needing to find a place that could do the embroidery as soon as possible on one of his other chef jackets. I turned to Yelp. I called so many places and many said it would take at least two weeks. I told each place I didn't have two weeks because my uncle was being buried within a couple of days. Almaden Alterations who my family has been going to for over 25 years highly recommended Imagination Embroidery. Imagination Embroidery was literally a God send. They were professional, compassionate, polite and thorough from start to finish. After they listened to my situation via phone they said, 'bring it over and we will have it done by 4 p.m.' They are not far from the Bee Hive Natural Foods store that my family used to shop at when I was a kid. I raced over there, explained I needed embroidery and a patch (the patch to cover a logo). Grabbed lunch, picked up family from the airport and back to the embroidered chef jacket. The embroidery was excellent quality, so was the patch work. It cost about $50 which seemed reasonable for a rush job. In my nearly eight years of writing Yelp review its great to know that good mom and pop small businesses are operating within our community. The staff walked me through the tufting process and showed me examples of how to tuft properly and efficiently. I even carried a can of Diet Coke to the session as inspiration for my mini rug. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and they helped trim and flatten the rug at the end. I also got to make a picture frame using decoden art - picking out my favorite charms and decorating the frame one by one. As you can tell, I chose food- and toy-themed charms to reflect my hobbies. It took us some time to learn how to use the tufting guns properly and it felt like they were understaffed. It would've been nice to have more guidance throughout the process, like if we had any questions we had to wait a very long time for a staff member to be available to help. The seating for tufting is also very close together and it can get a little cramped. But as I mentioned earlier, we were very happy with our finished rugs. After we finished tufting, it took them about an hour to finish them off and we were able to take them home the same day. We also did decoden, which was fun! I was impressed by the charm collection, but it was very hard to find letter charms since they were all mixed up and scarce. Overall, the crafts turned out great, just disappointed by the service. I understand that it was a weekend evening and it wasn't the staff's fault, they were all very kind and understanding. Just understaffed! With tufting especially, having more staff available to help throughout the process if needed would make this experience much more enjoyable.
