Something I have never done anywhere. I go out the door to find the escalator non-op and the elevator was stuck open! I had to hobble down the broken escalator with a bum knee to head on home empty handed. It is highly recommended that heavy merchandising, restocks and resets occur before or after posted open hours. On my list of things to do during the funeral preparation was to find someone to embroider his chef jacket. His family decided on keeping his executive chef jacket, hence my needing to find a place that could do the embroidery as soon as possible on one of his other chef jackets. I turned to Yelp. I called so many places and many said it would take at least two weeks. I told each place I didn't have two weeks because my uncle was being buried within a couple of days. Almaden Alterations who my family has been going to for over 25 years highly recommended Imagination Embroidery. Imagination Embroidery was literally a God send. They were professional, compassionate, polite and thorough from start to finish. After they listened to my situation via phone they said, 'bring it over and we will have it done by 4 p.m.' They are not far from the Bee Hive Natural Foods store that my family used to shop at when I was a kid. I raced over there, explained I needed embroidery and a patch (the patch to cover a logo). Grabbed lunch, picked up family from the airport and back to the embroidered chef jacket. The embroidery was excellent quality, so was the patch work. It cost about $50 which seemed reasonable for a rush job. In my nearly eight years of writing Yelp review its great to know that good mom and pop small businesses are operating within our community. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and they helped trim and flatten the rug at the end. I also got to make a picture frame using decoden art - picking out my favorite charms and decorating the frame one by one. As you can tell, I chose food- and toy-themed charms to reflect my hobbies. I understand that it was a weekend evening and it wasn't the staff's fault, they were all very kind and understanding. Just understaffed! The instructor was very fun and really willing to help out and inspire. 5 stars. The second workshop i took, just this Sunday, was not great at all. It was a mosaic class and it might as well have been self led. The instructor gave us a brief 3-5 min tutorial on how to place the tiles and then did nothing else except sorted tiles the whole time. She never came around to see how we were doing or if we needed help. We had to keep asking her to come over if we had a question and she didn't really offer too much. She never told us what color we could use, and kept coming over and collecting the extra tiles as we were working. She didn't help us finish up and left before we were done. It was super disappointing.
