Visited for a friend's birthday, and it was a fun experience! The location is in a big mall. We stopped by on a Sunday evening, and it was pretty full. There were a few shelves with pottery options. I was impressed with how many pottery pieces we could select, ranging from vases to bowls to giant strawberries. We were provided with clear instructions on how to select our paints and pottery. Past weekend, I brought my two niece in to pottery painting. There are lot options like animal figurine, piggy bank. Staff were attentive & patient saints, talked the kids through colors and brushes like pros, and somehow kept disaster to a minimum. We left with two cute pieces, slightly painted children. Had a good experience at this Color Me Mine location! Went on a Friday around 6:30pm and it wasn't too crowded. First, you choose your item and then pay for it at the front. It costs $10 per painter, and then each item is priced differently. There is a $5 discount for students on Fridays! There are lots of different paints and other supplies as well. We painted a cereal bowl and had lots of fun! Just keep in mind that items have to be turned in 30 minutes before closing (8:30). After a week, we got a text that our item was ready to be picked up and that they can hold it for 30 more days. Pick up process was straightforward, just needed to give the receipt but even if you don't have it, they can use your phone number. Would recommend! read more

Not sure what is up with all the negative reviews because I had a wonderful experience. Went here for the first time with my homegirl and just picked up our cooked pieces. Never been to one before but it was a relaxing experience. Staff was friendly. Plenty of open tables. We went on a Sunday. Not a shock that the pottery is priced at a premium because its in a premium location, the mall LOL I expected to pay extra before I even walked in. For those that have never gone like myself, you pay a fee per person to paint. The place supplies the brushes, paint, stencils, aprons, etc. They even clean your brushes for you after. The most expensive part is your pottery selection so the fancier, the pricier! You sit, paint, chatter, then leave your art behind for a week for them to bulk bake. Then they text you when its ready to come on down to take home. My dog loved her unicorn dog bowl. Love that its right in front of 99 ranch and the food area so we can have a bite after painting! Cute venue that's a great activity for friends, families, or individual painters! Took my sister here to paint on a Friday afternoon around 3 pm. The place accepts reservations in 2 hour intervals or walk in appointments. They have options for large groups, open parties, or private parties. They have a wide selection from mugs, plates, animal sculptures and more! The staff member was super thorough in explaining how the place works from choosing our item to paint, the painting tools available, and how post-paint is done. Once you're done painting, it's a week turnover to get your item fully glazed and they will hold it for you up to 30 days. I decided to paint a sushi plate for myself, and it definitely healed my inner child and was a sense of nostalgia and peace. Chill vibes all over the place and would definitely come again! read more

Made a reservation for three adults on a Saturday, everything was fine the day of. We were given ample time to paint, plenty of supplies available, etc. I was told to come back in seven days to pick up the pieces. When I asked if I needed to call first I was told no, to show up in a week after 5pm and everything would be ready. A week later, I show up as instructed--only to be told our pieces are nowhere to be found. Both employees looked for 35 mins while I stood by. When I asked if the pieces were lost, I was told no, they just can't find them at the moment. Is that not the definition of lost? They took down my contact info and I left, annoyed at having driven 40 minutes to pick them up when a phone call could've prevented all of this. I get both a call and text the next day stating that they found our three items. I drive another 40 minutes to go get them today--and it takes the two employees ANOTHER 10-15 mins of searching before they magically turn up. In addition to having to drive twice and stand around, all three items were glazed unevenly, with visible smudges and bubbles that were not there prior to firing. The entire experience was an absolute mess. They told me at pickup to call next time before driving out so "they can be ready"-- no need for that because there won't be a next time. I asked for a refund and was told I'd be getting a call but I very much doubt that will actually happen. Do yourselves a favor and go to Petroglyph instead for better paint options, lower prices/a bigger selection, and pieces that you actually get to pick up in the same condition you left them there in. read more

Had a pretty good experience at Color Me Mine for a team outing event! The spot is located in Oakridge Mall, but parking can still be pretty tough to find! I opted to paint a panda holding up a baby panda since I thought it was cute haha. There are many different colors to play around with! Be sure to wear an apron to minimize paint splashing!! This location is in Oakridge mall right across from the Ranch 99 bakery. The painting fee is $10/person and then you pay for the piece you want to paint. Most pieces are $20+ and they have a variety of things- ornaments, mugs, plates, piggy banks, figurines, etc. You grab your own supplies (paint, paintbrushes, sponges, etc) and sit at the table and paint. Since this was a special activity for my 4 (almost 5 year old) daughter, I'm going to let this review be from her own words. First, she said she would give 12 stars... but we'll settle for the max 5 that yelp allows. (I would maybe drop a star to 4 solely based on the overall cost because it seems a bit steep for what it is.... but hey, this review is through the eyes of a 4 year old, so 5 it is) First from her mouth, "It was fun". Off to a great start so far! Because who wants to be doing something that's not fun?! Why was it fun? "Because you get to paint by yourself". I think what she means to say is that you get to paint on your own.... as opposed to having someone telling you what to do and how to do it. She also liked that there were a lot of different things to choose to paint and a lot of colors to choose from. So there you have it! 5 stars, there you have it. That's a review, straight from a 4 year old. I should also note that they said they'll hold the items for pickup for 60 days. (Double check for yourself in case that number changes.) So maybe that's part of the seemingly high cost of the activity. If everyone's taking up space for a couple months, then I guess you'd expect some sort of "rent" fee included. Color me mine is a local activity store located in San Jose,California at Oakridge Westfield Shopping Center. Store is open but tables are to close together needs more space to be able to move. Aprons are provided for painters who choose to wear if like to protect paint from getting onto clothing. Plates paint brushes and color paints are provided to do your craft activity. In store pottery is available for purchase which you can pick and choose for a variety of assortments for categories selection. After color pottery is placed in oven to seal to get the final results for 7 days later. You can store pottery for decoration or use for vase flowers or eating off some pottery plates. Online reservations were made for myself and children last week but I was not inform that each child is a table sit fee which later came back on Saturday, May 31st,2025 for coloring completing our activity. My children enjoyed but got stressed out of other parent hovering over shoulder and yelling. I got stressed out since other parent of children was going to end my visit with me children making sayings that he was going to take my children away and end my visit early. After had purchase paid for my sit down table reservation. My experience was not great, and this was giving it another try. Came here on a Saturday around 2 PM with a party of 3 and we were informed that it would be around a one hour wait. We got called back around 15-30 minutes after, so definitely stick it out and wait in the mall. They might surprise you with a shorter waiting time than you expected! They also let you pick out which items you want to paint in advance, which is helpful since my friend wanted to paint an item that only had one left. She was afraid that it would be taken in the span of us waiting for a table to open up, but I'm glad that the girls allowed us to do so. There is a 2 hour table limit, so once you grab your item make sure to begin painting! The studio fee is $10, but there's a special discount for girls and women on Thursdays! I painted two tile boxes which were $27 each, and my friends painted a porcupine pen holder and a cactus dish. The amount of paints here is less than Petroglyph, and I do like that Petroglyph allows you to take the paint to your table/has multiple of each. I was constantly going back and forth to add more paint to my palette- pro tip, if you're using a lot of different colors, you should definitely snap a photo of each of the paints that you use and make a mental note of which is used for what so you don't lose track. My friend did this since she used a lot of different hues of green and yellow on her item. The location is pretty solid too, I live close by to Oakridge Mall and there's no shortage of parking (large lots next to the Ranch 99 and a parking garage that are all free), so this should be no issue. Overall, the experience was fun. I docked a point since not only is it a tad expensive, the service is a little rough. I do try to be understanding since it gets hectic with lots of adults and children, but it seemed like the workers were pretty mentally checked out and we had to repeat ourselves a number of times for them to understand what we were asking for (the wait times, whether we could place the items we wanted to on hold, questions about payment). read more

Horrible experience! I've taken my kids to Petroglyph in WG many times, go there instead. I walk in with my kids and the girl at the register doesn't even look up. Hi! I say. She reluctantly raises her eyes as if we're bothering her. Yeah? She says. Umm, we'd like to paint, I respond (what did she think we were there for?) The attitude continues - omg, why is she your front line person?!?! I let her know that we are meeting my girlfriend and her kids here and would like to be seated next to each other. She tells me there's a 12% charge for parties of 6+. I tell her we're not a party of 6+, we're paying separately and we just want tables next to each other. There are 3 empty tables next to each other and several other empty tables. She says "Like I said, there's a 12% charge". So you're going to charge us 12% just to sit next to each other even though there are tables are open?!?! So ridiculous, not just the policy but especially her horrible, horrible, rude attitude the moment we walked in for no reason, I'm here with my kids for goodness sake. NEVER AGAIN WILL I COME HERE AND GIVE THEM A PENNY. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!! Train your people about customer service and to use common sense. read more

The set up for supplies is pretty good...but the table are so close that you can hardly stand there to look. Go early to pick out your piece...cuz the clock starts on your time. which is pricey...$10 admission and $25 for a small bowl. That you glaze and wait a week to pick up. Our group did not need instruction or help... good thing... the kids bday party next to us took several staff to supervise. They would have had no one to help us. THE BIG ISSUE... is the 12% service charge... which isn't a tip for the staff... it goes to the owner...she wasn't even there.. Considering the fact that they had no record of the reservation they should have compt'd that charge . We still have to pick up the pieces.. so we'll see how that goes. Staff aren't helpful when it comes to explaining how the colors layer and appear after the firing process is complete. They gave advice that contradicted the examples on the walls. Table spaces are clean but there are no aprons offered to customers. Many of the fine tipped nozzles on glaze bottles were clogged. There were also over a dozen fingerprints on my finished piece that weren't there when I completed it. Same for my spouse's teapot, which also pours terribly. We tried using it once and the spout splashed everywhere. I guess it'll just be decorative. Expected better for the price they charge. I won't be back. read more

Don't waste your time here. Honestly, just go to Petroglyph. I came here for a team bonding event with the company I work for and if you're looking a place that rushes you, and constantly asks if you're finished with your art, when barely anything is completed, this is the place to be. You are timed, and if you need even just an extra 30mins, you HAVE TO PAY $75. It's RIDICULOUS. I had to rush my piece, (not only because of the time limit they gave us but because every 15-20mins the girl helping us would come by and ask if anyone was finished even if there was barely anything done), even when the CEO of the company I worked for added an extra 30minutes, my piece did not come out to how I wanted it to be because of being rushed. If you're looking for a nice, relaxing and honestly CHEAPER experience go to Petroglyph. At Petroglyph you pay a 1-time studio fee, you can take your time, and go back as many times as needed without needing to pay again (unless you decide to add another piece), I would know, I've been to Petroglyph a BUNCH, but sadly they were booked so Color Me Mine was our only other choice. So do yourself of a favor and just save the trip and go to Petroglyph, I promise you'll have a better time. read more
