Came here on a Sunday night with a party of 4. We opted for seating at the bar for quicker service. The bar tender was amazing. She was super friendly and on top of everything. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, mozzarella sticks and clam chowder. HOLY CLAMS! I've never had a clam chowder loaded with so many clams!, but it was a tad bit salty. A few beers on tap, a cider and "Rita is a Hottie" spicy margarita. The margarita was okay, but it tasted like a regular margarita and sour mix. She did use the jalapeño tequila, but it wasn't spicy at all.

Sat at the bar and had Fast service and good food! Our Waitress Rose and she was helpful and attentive. Great service here!

    Breading from the veal parm

First the fried mozzarella was good, 2nd I ordered the veal parm the breading could have cover 3 veal parms and the cheese and for the service wife order chicken parm eggplant parm came out if you just listen when someone is ordering. also shouldn't tell customer if you know good veal parm your resturant has the best veal parm it probably is in the town of Stockbridge mass i live in the best food state in New England (RI) and have eaten a lot of veal parm in my life and this I wouldn't feed my worst enemy's dog

Love the bar here and their specials are always a win!

Have enjoyed this place across 3 decades - currently enjoy following the daytime bartender on FB to see wicked good drink and food specials - hence knowing I could enjoy a lobster roll while in town last weekend! Bar space is my fav (some ppl need their Keno) and there are 2 dining rooms and an outdoor patio. A pistachio drink, whose name I forgot, was stellar!

If I could give, I could give no stars I would. Says on your menu if you have allergies. Let your server know. And I did. I tried to order the chicken sandwich that I have had in the past, and I was told by the server that the chef doesn't like to make things off the lunch menu for dinner. So you're telling me that your chef doesn't really care about people's allergies? Why would you even post it on the menu? I didn't order anything but a soda, only because I ordered that before dinner. They actually handed me a check for the soda that I didn't even drink. NEVER AGAIN !!

He was assisted by servers who brought food from the kitchen. We had identical meals. The black lentil soup (soup of the day) was very good. We shared a wedge salad lettuce with halved cherry tomatoes, bacon bits and chopped fried onions and it was super. I'm not big on dressing as a whole, but it was quite flavorful. We each had the smash burger. It's two thin patties made from sirloin and ribeye coated with cheddar cheese placed on chopped lettuce and tomato, resting on a fresh roll. It was hot and so juicy and delicious. The only drawback for the entire meal was that the fries were over cooked. For dessert my wife had the apple pie with ice cream, I had the brown sugar cake with coffee ice cream. Both simple, yet scrumptious. Overall a delicious meal, it seemed expensive, but we had wine. FYI, we saw others being served the fish and chips (Cod) and it looked great.

Listen, 5 stars for this trip is going to sound so bad, but just wait... Ill get there…read more I find this place on Yelp, Hubby and I were in town on vacation for a weekend to get away before I was to have a pretty big operation - so we just upped & ran away one weekend. It coincidentally happened to be prime leaf peeping weekend (which isnt why we went away) but it was Sunday am, we wanted to eat somewhere that wasnt Dunks, so I found this place on Yelp and it looked super cute, so we drove 30*ish minutes to get here. We arrive & Im thinking Oh No, this isnt going to be great, we get in line and are 3rd in line. Well 15 mins has passed and no one has even acknowledged the people in front of us or anyone... Now to set the scene for anyone who hasnt been here, its like walking into a time warp home. Its not like a restaurant, this is literally a home. There is stuff EVERYWHERE, its like a yard sale, dust, books, no 2 tables, place settings, mugs, plates or anything is the same on all the tables, and the woman who was working god bless her had to be easily 75... She was running the food, cleaning & clearing the tables and this place was packed. We ended up talking to the family in front of us in line (who were regulars and in their 90s) and they said they come every weekend, so the woman who works there pulls them out of line and seats them ahead of the people in front of them (they were ok with that) but they had told us how you can buy anything in the place, if you liked your table setting you can buy it. There was so much old rustic decor, the place is friggin adorable, but you can buy it all! I just continued to walk around the place & just investigate all the things. Well 45 mins later we were finally seated and magically a few more staff people arrived to help her out, the whole experience from waiting to be seated, to ordering to actually getting the food and check was easily 2+ hours. The food I expected to then be just meh, but it wasnt IT WAS GOOD, Craig the owner chef was literally in the kitchen ALONE... and lives up stairs too, but you could see him hustling around and just handling all of it. Salad at breakfast at first to me seemed so off, but OMG was it good. All the food was just fresh and really good! This was one of those super memorable experiences, the hubby wouldnt let me buy anything and that was ok, but if we are ever back in the area we are definitely stopping in again! Dont mind the wait (which Im told isnt normally that long - I think it was all the leaf peeping tourists)

Since we were driving from Cambridge to Egremont -- about three hours -- to celebrate a special occasion with friends who live nearby, we called to ask whether they could make an exception. The manager gladly did. A few hours before the reservation, however, the OWNER called and brusquely informed us that they do not take reservations for parties of four and that "maybe they could accommodate us," before launching into an unnecessary lecture about their 5+ policy -- essentially cancelling our reservation. Why do that to your customers? Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. When we arrived, he was again rude and dismissive, seating us at a tiny table in the corner of the bar that was clearly too small for dinner. Thankfully, the manager stepped in, rescued the evening, and moved us to the main dining room, where we ended up having a wonderful night with our friends. She also checked in throughout the evening to make sure our experience improved, and her professionalism genuinely turned things around. As for the food: we ordered the Smoked Fish Pate appetizer, the Grilled Salmon, and the Artichoke and Goat Cheese Ravioli. The pate was exceptional -- layered, balanced, and memorable. The salmon was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and refreshingly not buried under heavy marinades. The ravioli was also excellent. Dessert was a rich chocolate cake that capped off an otherwise delightful meal. The decor, service, and overall comfort were all A+. A Valentine's dinner that did not impress!…read more Valentine's has always been a very special holiday for me. My husband and I decided to spend the weekend in the Berkshires, which was lovely and quiet. I made reservations ahead of time for this highly rated wine bar and very close to where we were staying. First off, due to the previous weather/storms they had no street parking. But luckily we parked in a nearby lot. Upon arrival, the restaurant bar area was very nice and romantic. The server brought us to our table but I was a bit disappointed in the ambiance. I mean the bar area was a bit darker and the table that we were being seated at had a lot of light. Now, don't get me wrong, It was Valentine's day which screams romantic and there was no romantic vibe to this restaurant. After mentioning this to our server she did move us and turned down the lights a bit which was much better. Food/Drinks: The menu was not big at all which was nice. I ordered a dirty martini to start which needed more olive juice and my husband ordered a rum cocktail which he enjoyed. For starters, I ordered their Over Roasted Parsnip which was very good and filling. My husband had their Beet Salad which he said was excellent. For entrees, I had their Seared Duck Breast. I really enjoyed the caramel sauce but did not love the duck itself. My husband had the Oven Roasted Chicken Statler which was very dry he could barley eat it. Also, since this is a wine bar I will say the wines were nothing special which was also a bit disappointing. I wish they had something unique and special to offer especially being on a Valentine's Day. I feel this place may be more of a summer destination. Service: Service was excellent I will say. Our server was always asking how things were, checking on us and if we needed anything and asking about any additional drinks. etc. Also, the Manager came over to ask how everything was but he spefically looked at me. I think my husband would've mentioned his meal being dry if he looked at him as well but my husband could've spoken up too. We did say something to our server after she asked about the chicken dish, which they ended up taken off the bill which was very nice. Overall: I didn't love Alta Wine Bar my first time here, but I would come back in the spring or summer months when the weather is warm to try it again. Cheers~
