It's rodeo time and I'm on the hunt for turquoise accessories to complete my western attire. I've never owned any turquoise and since I probably won't wear it much, I was looking for something reasonably priced but at the same time decent. On the internet, I ended up finding a cute triangular pendant at Michael's for $4.99 with an additional 25% off if purchased online. The website did mention that it was 27 mm but I wanted to get an up close look to see if it would be a good fit for me. Once in store, it was easy to find what I was looking for because the website tells you exactly what aisle the product is on. Soo many pendants to choose from but I found mine! It was smaller and more delicate than I preferred it to be, however, I did find a different one more along the lines of what I was looking for. It was a turquoise colored teardrop priced at 14.99 and also 25% off online. Since this was a little more than what I was looking to spend, I definitely ordered online. I know that 25% may not sound like much to you but to me, a discount is a discount (smile). In the meantime, I walked out to go check out another store on the strip in search for more western like attire. I barely stepped foot in the next store when I got a ping saying that my order was ready. It had only been 3 minutes! Talking about convenient and fast service! Looks like everyone sees Michaels at night. I was here for my last-minute shopping. I wanted a small piece of double-sided tape. This Michaels store has several different types for different projects, which means they are all over the store. By my simple search on Michaels app, I had traveled from aisles 23 to 17 to 27 to OMG... I was going to pull my hair out. Finally, I searched on Target app. Boom there it is. Since I was at Michaels store, I know this craft store should have it. Yes it did, according to the app. But I can't get it until tomorrow morning. No one explained why. Maybe no one can fulfill the order as they were about to close. So, let me find it on the shelf. But no... It was empty. Ok, five minutes before closing. I was alerted by a friendly employee. I saved my sanity by going to Target store. Yup, I got what I wanted immediately and cheaper. read more

Owned by Bret Michaels, Shawn Michaels, and Julia Michaels. Who has issues. But I've got them too. So give them all to me and I'll give mine to you. I'm not a fan of Michaels by any stretch of the imagination and probably never will be. They are an arts and crafts store and you probably know about them. We've been to so many locations, and so rarely are we impressed. Barbi came here hoping that they would be as good as JoAnn, or different in some way, and we left empty-handed, and service wasn't great, and just in general she wasn't impressed and neither was I. read more

Went in to get some RIT dye and when I got to the self checkout, the woman there was so rude. Once I was finally able to scan my items and leave, she proceeded to berate the new hire about her training. I see why Siri told me this place has a 2 star rating. The other reviewers really seem to despise this location wholeheartedly and I understand why. Sad that they replaced the beloved prior sugarland location which had spacious aisles and a huge supply. I had precious memories of roaming the old store with dreams of craft projects filling my hopeful head. Despite that grudge, I can't say I hate this store even though it is an unfortunate smaller downgrade (probably 1/5 the size of the other store). Let's not compare it to it's deceased sibling though as it's still it's own individual! It still has everything you need but very condensed and in close corners. It is clean and tidy, good for a grab and go situation. There was basically no one in the store when I went yet the line still took pretty long? (I'm pretty sure the line took longer than my line at Costco, which on a side note I do like they're now in vicinity of each other!) COVID UPDATE: they have protective barriers in place and curbsite pickup. Store was almost empty when I went at noon on a weekday. read more

If you're getting a custom frame done at this location, I'd say run. There was nothing wrong with my final product. The older gentleman was super nice. They also didn't have it ready by the date they gave me. No one emailed or called to tell me it was ready. When I went to pick up, the younger gentleman was rude and blatantly ignored me for 15 minutes. The older gentleman finally came and helped me. read more

Purpose: shopping for some gifts. Specifically, 2022 planners. I know the worst investment of 2020 was a planner but a couple of years later I thought I would be safe. Not exactly, as I searched through a disorganized and slightly dirty section of planners I finally found the unicorn. I decided to make my way to the front, I checked them out one last time. Good thing I did, they are about to be expired. The calendar year ends next month. How did associates miss that? It's a highly popular item, this is something they should have noticed. They didn't have any other planners (similar style) for 2022. I hope 2022 turns out better than this shopping trip. Tip: try online or the other craft store that actually is very well stocked year round. As for the other parts of the store it was all confusing and messy. Definitely messed with my OCD. This store was an absolute disappointment and I doubt I will ever return or recommend. read more

Do not use curbside here. They have two separate marked locations. They checked my order off as picked up before I got my items and did not even check my barcode or ID. I talked to a manager about the confusion with the curbside locations. She told me there was not two and basically called me a liar. I told her she needs to go outside and check again. There are blown down red poles with curbside signs and numbers. The worker that brought me my order didn't even look for my car and no one reached out after they couldn't find me. What was their plan? On top of it all the frame was scratched... do not shop or order from here. read more

I was recently in the new Michael's near Sugarland and wanted to get something framed. There was a young Asian man who was the only one working in that department. I watched him working with a guest who was unsure of selections etc and he was very impatient and rushed her. When it was my turn there was someone else waiting and he was very much the same with me. In the end I took my things and told him I'd go elsewhere. He was so rude and didn't seem to enjoy his job very much. Custom framing is not inexpensive and should not be rushed. I'll be calling corporate. And I won't be back. read more

Dealing with this Michael's is always frustrating. The last two times I've needed to make a return there has always been some issue. Whenever I make a purchase from Michael's I always keep the receipt in the original bag with the product until I'm ready to use it. Both times I've needed to do a return I've had my receipt and the unopened merchandise, but for some reason there's always in issue with management not understanding Michael's return policy that is online. Debit cards when used with a PIN number is the equivalent to cash. I've had one manager tell me that Michael's doesn't give cash for debit purchases even though the official Michael's website says the exact opposite. Today I told another manager the same thing the website says and she asked me to pull up the where it says that on the website as if I were lying. I don't understand how management does not know the return policy of a store they're managing and then gives subpar customer service. Instead of telling me to verify the return policy, management should have had the customer service mindset to verify the policy on their own. I never have an issue with the Michael's on Weslayen. I'm so tired of this location, and will not be returning. read more

I was so excited at the thought of Michaels opening up a new store but after visiting it I am not sure why they moved. The store seems much smaller than the one they moved from. It felt claustrophobic and like stuff was just piled and thrown in the store. The Homecoming section is just pitiful now. It's sad to say but I don't think I will be back. read more

I agree with other reviews. I cannot believe they closed the First Colony store for this. Much smaller. Cramped aisles. Difficult to access. And they do block internet so you can't price check or access the coupons on the Michael's app. read more

I've been so disappointed each and every time I go into this location. They never seem to have the craft item I'm looking for, but the last few times - all Saturdays - there's only been ONE person working the registers and the line is always SO long. And never does anyone come to help with check outs. The other annoyance is there is zero phone service inside this store. I don't want to use their WiFi. Please improve your customer service if you want loyal customers. read more

Every time I or my kids bounce up and ask a employee for help, they are always polite and helpful in finding or rarely confirming that they do not carry whatever random art or craft item of the moment we need. There is rarely a long line and if a line is forming, they quickly add more cashiers. read more
