I mean Michael's has yarn for basic projects, but if feel it's time to step it up! During the pandemic I visited this shop with my friend who was looking for quality yarn at the time. Today I felt I'd go back and check out what they could offer for a burgeoning beginner/intermediate like me. The owner Marsha greeted me when I came in and was so helpful with all my questions (and I had a lot of questions!) she was very patient and kind. She helped me find a nice cotton yarn that wasn't too expensive since it's my first time doing a project like this one, and gave me some good tips on working with this kind of yarn. So also told me I can always come and sit at the large table with a project and sit and work on a project if I want too and time. So yes, this yarn may be a bit more expensive that you are used too if it's your first time at a proper Yarn shop, but these yarns are lovely and the qualities are beautiful. Such a wonderful studio!…read more Came across the studio after having breakfast in the area because I've started needle felting. Found parking conveniently right in front in the street since it was a quiet day out. I was looking for wool roving which she didn't have, however, she was so kind to explain the difference between the types of material and she showed me the correct type of yarn she did have that I'd be able to pull apart with my carding brushes! She had a lot of equipment to use for yarn crafts and it was great to see the variety of product inside. Apparently she holds craft nights and such too which I'm planning on looking into. Prices here were sooo much better than all the places I've found online which is also have to pay extra for shipping. She also even rolled the yarn into a ball for me before we left. Hopefully they'll have wool roving here soon, but I'm thankful for the yarn we were able to purchase for my current projects :) The best part -- her dog Jasper kept us company throughout our whole experience there and he is the absolute cutest cuddle bug!
