This Michaels has a lot of good stuff, though sometimes it is hard to understand the organization. The staff don't stand out very much so it took me a moment to find one. There were a lot of people in line but they promptly opened up 3 checkstands. Good selection of stuff here. read more

I use to love Michaels, but every time I go in there the customer service really sucks, when trying to have a conversation with someone they pretty much ignore you or turn and answer the phone or talk to someone else, its just plain rude, I can't stand going there anymore. read more

Yesterday I went to Michael's to pick up some yarn for a project. There were many big stocking carts in every isle, in the yarn section, so I had to abandon my cart, which wouldn't fit down the aisles. A store employee saw me trying to move one of the big carts and said, "I'll move this to the back, we had a big order today". He didn't bother to move any of the other 6 carts that were in the way. I grabbed my yarn and moved to another section of the store which also had a maize of big stocking carts so I decided they really did not want anyone shopping in their store and went to check out. The USUAL two check out people were open and there were 8 people in line. One checker was busy with a manager and customer trying to get a refund as she was overcharged $5 which took the whole time I stood in line. So there was one checker open for the 20 minutes I stood in line. It's not even the busy Christmas season yet!! Oh, and my yarn didn't show a price on the shelves!! I have had it with this Michael's, it's not worth the frustration of trying to shop here, I will be going to Hobby Lobby from now on!! read more

Don't expect any kind of customer service from the employees I searched the store over and over for an item searching also for an employee for help (nobody around) so I finally gave up and got in line to pay to my other items well when I got to the cashier I showed her a picture of the item I was looking for and the first thing she said was "we don't have those" (she hadnt even looked at the picture before she said it) I said well I'm on ur website and it says u guys have them in stock and she said "show me where it says that" I showed her and then she decided to call on her headset if anyone knew where they were describing the item incorrectly and when I tried to tell her a better description she ignored me. So someone replies with an isle number I go and it's not there! I finally had to wait in another line to ask the guy in the framing department (showing him the picture) and he pointed me in the right direction. Please do not go to this store! Believe me, it's worth driving to Fairfield. They have horrible customer service. This one girl with an eyebrow piercing was extremely rude to me. She obviously was frustrated with her job and having a bad day the day I visited. I don't know her name, but she's the only one with an eyebrow piercing in that store. She threw a bag at me and was very unprofessional and bothered by everything I asked. Seemed like she didn't have enough training. I tried complaining with a floor manager (some guy) but he seemed uninterested in hearing about my complaint. A very rude manager too! Michael's really needs to step up and train their employees and managers. What a lousy store! I finally called the store manager but she didn't even apologize on behalf of her employee. She didn't get my name or even a call back number. Only thing she said was that she would "talk to her". I am NEVER going to that store again. I will drive to Fairfield from now on. By the way, at the Fairfield store they take more than one coupon per purchase and at the Vallejo store it is only one coupon per transaction. I regret spending all that money in that darn store. I have had two floral wreaths made by Jennifer in Floral Dept. She always does a beautiful job. Even walking out the store to my car several people remark how beautiful the wreath is. Jennifer has been with Michaels over 15 years and is a asset to the store and company. Her creativity is best amazing and adds the right touches on every item she makes. The people at the frame section are helpful, but the customer service drops once you get to the cashiers.

If you were planning on getting in and out of this place in a reasonable amount of time, you will be very, VERY disappointed. Unfortunately due to the closing of Joanne Fabrics in the Target center, Michael's seems to be the only place in town that sells buttons and sewing notions, unless you want to brave the crowds and badly clad folks at Walmart in Am Can or FF. Today at the counter there were two employees assisting one customer who had an endless supply of coupons, a few returns and plenty of all around stupid questions regarding just about every item in the store. Neither employee seemed to notice that the line to check out was at least seven people deep. My friend took it upon himself to lean up against one of the registers to steady himself while playing games on his phone, because it was pretty clear no one would be using the register anytime soon. Please get these employees some additional help or at the very least, some training to teach them to look up and notice their surroundings every now and then. If not, may I suggest a few inexpensive lawn chairs or perhaps even a community bench of some type. Heck, if you're feeling really generous, you could even offer a table with a jigsaw puzzle to help while away the hours spent waiting in line. Well, the store is certainly well-stocked. Although, when there's a sale, it can take FOREVER in the check out. They should plan for this ahead and realize that tons of people love Michael's and will turn out for sales. They need more help when they have a big coupon mailing. The sales staff are helpful when you can find one, although it seems that they don't try to find you to see if you need anything like other stores in the area. read more

Terrible customer service here. I was in line at the cashier waiting to pay. When the person in front of me finished and the cashier looked at me with disdain and asked for the next person in line. I didn't know the line actually started at the back near a small stand. I know it was my fault but she didn't have to make me look like a fool. A simple, I'm sorry sir but the line starts over there would have been suffice. Instead, I got this pissed off look and didn't even akcnowledge my existence. Me thinks most of you protest (and expect) too much. If you want High class service for craft delivery items, then you will Pay Top Dollar. I have payed top dollar, and for what?? This place has delivered everything that I have ever wanted. For reasonablle prices. And every time I go, I expect that Help will be slow to find, and you have to wait. I get great prices for what I want. Yes, I have lived in Los Angeles, and Napa, and Seattle, and Chicago, and Grand Rapids, MI. For you young folk, just get used to the idea that these empoyees probably make minimum wage or slightly more, with mimimum benenfits or none at all. What are you compaining about??? Get over yourself, get a job in the real world, and wait in line. Stop your bitching or don't go there. Be grateful for what you have in life and get over yourself. Life does not get any better. Count your blessings, and be thankful for what you get. Be a blessing to others, or don't live. Life is not about getting immediate service with a smile. Maybe you should help the person who is giving you service. Smile at them, and ask them how is their day for a change, and wait in line, and help someone else who is as miserable as you are.
