It was great my amazing partner needed some yarn for a project they been working on. I was easily able to locate it and got it with ease. At the register I was able to show them a coupon for some extra $ off but they were already on sale so it didn't allow more discount. It's the average Michaels franchise and looks and feels like the majority of all Michaels. The WVC staff are friendly and helpful. I go there often as a local customer and the manager always helps with all my craft questions. I wish I knew his name, but he seems to greet and check up on customers while shopping. The price is always right with coupons, and definitely less expensive than Hobby Lobby. read more

I went to the West Valley location yesterday and there was so much wrong with this place. First, the selection of products is horrible. It is last years products and the shelves are bare. I had to grab what I could because I had some projects that I needed to get done by that night. I am just sick about what I spent. I could have gotten twice the product at Hobby Lobby or JoAnns, not to mention, much better quality. Their artificial flowers are dollar store quality. One last thing...the girl that rang my stuff up LITERALLY had her face painted like a weird demon or something. It was not makeup, it was start black and white covering the entire face. She looked like she worked in a haunted house, and it wasn't even Halloween. She wore a big black choker that had spikes around it and a bunch of chains. She talked like she was high on pain killers or downers. I cant believe they hire employees like that. Clearly, management doesnt care about professionalism or having a good image. I will never go to Michaels again. I have to drive out of my way to go to Hobby Lobby or JoAnns, but it is well worth it. read more

Michaels isn't bad.. My first visit was today. I'll keep it simple ;) Pros: -friendly employees ( when you can find them) - quite the variety of flowers - somewhat inexpensive depending on what kind of flowers you are purchasing. Cons: - where is help? I walked around the store twice and couldn't find anyone except the employee working the cash register and I asked her for help but she wasn't allowed to leave her post. This is understandable bc I wouldn't want her to get in trouble but she called for another employee and they helped me 15 minutes later.. A little late Charlie dont you think? - cleanliness of the store. Wow! This place is extremely unorganized and there are flowers everywhere.. All over the floors in each aisle and i guess people are too lazy to put their flowers back where they initially found them. I had to walk down each aisle to find the same flowers -.- This place could work on their organization skills or at least have someone on the floor at all times to help customers. Maybe this is just a personal issue for me regarding organization bc I'm a very tidy person! I caught myself rearranging the flowers and putting the vases in order before realizing that I was doing someone else's work lol. The staff is super friendly though when you get a chance to talk to them. I would come back but not for a while since I've gotten everything I need. Flowers range from 2.99-10.99 Note- the flowers are squished against one another so the petals don't look as nice so don't be afraid to ask an employee to check their back stock or give you a discount if they don't have anything for you. read more

Worst customer service. This is why I don't prefer to shop here. I rather drive further and support Joann than Michael's. I thought since it's close to home a quick stop but certainly wasn't worth the grief. I walked around the whole store looking for a pad of Christmas paper and couldn't find it so I stopped by the register for help. They couldn't even tell me the aisle where the paper was, " There's an aisle in the middle, where the paper is." How is that helpful, "may you show me where?" "Sorry I can't help you." I went in today, 12/23, to grab some last minute Christmas supplies. I understand it's Christmas and things get chaotic and busy, but I don't see that as a good reason for poor customer service. The store was well stocked and had plenty to offer, but when the cashier was checking us out, she was beyond rude. Her register was having issues reading the bar code on one of our items. The cashier actually asked if what we were getting was a necessity or if we could forego it this trip because she couldn't get it to ring up. I told her that I actually needed what I was trying to buy and would be happy to run back and grab another one of the item to see if we could get it to ring up or she could hand code the price. She informed me that if that were to happen, I would need to take my stuff and get back in line because they don't have time to wait. I ended up just not getting the item and the cashier didn't speak to me for the rest of the transaction other than to tell me the total. I won't go back to this location. read more

I visited WVC Michael's in October intending on purchasing Halloween decorations. When I got to the register, they inform me that the sign stating the Halloween "decor" was on sale meant only decor intended to be displayed indoors, not outdoors. Huh? Technically, the word "decor" refers to inside furnishings if one looks it up in the dictionary before shopping, but I submit that it refers to the short version of "decoration" in our neck of the woods (where I've lived all of my 61 years), and we think of all items for display during a holiday as just that. I call this "bait and switch" tactics, and swore I'd never set foot in that store again. Now in December, I found myself needing some last minute baskets for a meeting that same day and, unfortunately in the neighborhood of Michael's in WVC. They had a sign saying "60% off baskets" with small writing underneath "does not include Christmas baskets". Nothing was labeled "Christmas basket" or non-Christmas basket,and one couldn't decern the difference by color either. They were simply plain lime green, blue, purple and pink. I picked up four of them and headed for the register. It rings up with no discount so I inquire about the 60% off. She tells me the discount is only FOR Christmas baskets. I tell her that the sign says, "Does NOT include Christmas baskets" but she ignores me, so I go get the sign to bring to her and she is helping someone else so I again wait in a long long line to tell another cashier what transpired and show her the sign. She tries to ring it up and the register is not accepting nor acknowledging the discount; however, she finally finds a way to accomplish it. I complain about the dishonest marketing and she agrees with me. I can only hope other Michael's do not run their business in the same dishonest way, and I vow to let everyone know of WVC Michael's shameful tactics. read more

I found that my cashier Itzy in west valley was really quite nice freindly and helpful i am completely satisfied!

Yesterday after standing in line the couple In front of me were greeted as well as money handed to them, and a very nice 'Have a good day!' Was exchanged by micheals employee. Then when it's my turn, I was not greeted, rather I was just looked at wth a cold bare ugly face, I was almost uncontrollably forced to say hi Just to reinsure myself that It wasn't Just me. As I was the blond young women, counting out my change and almost rudely tossing it up on the counter as it the money had dirt on it, then after reaching the ending balance, she just looks back up at me as if telling me there's your change come grab it. Because she clearly wasn't going to hand it to me. So I got the message loud and clear. And started gathering my money. To top it off for me in the rudest way, she then smiles and greets the next costumer so ever so politely. And I stayed a second and watched her hand the change and receipt to him. And say have a nice day!. So it was Just me. And I hurts to notice that I was the one costermer whom wasn't caucasian. So It left me thinking that there at micheals when she's there it's okay to treat costumers that way? Bad Body launge and bad costomer service skills. And no this was not the first Time, with this being my third time with the same young lady. So I called the manager just to Inform him. Micheals Is normally one of my favorite stores and I usually shop there at least 4-5 times a month. After this I will no longer shop there. read more
