Camille had colored my hair a few months ago and It was time for a trim and color touch up. I wanted Camille to tone down the brassy blonde and get rid of the gray at my roots. She died the root area a dark brown and said she would apply a glaze over the rest to tone down the blonde. I paid $174 plus a tip of $25. Once finished I loved the cut but remarked my root area looked to dark and wasn't well blended with the bottom part of my hair. I was not satisfied. Camille said that was the style. A few days later I reached out to Camille to let her know my dissatisfaction. She said for an additional $55 I could have 10 highlights put in and she would put another glaze on. I felt like I was a great client for 2 years and had spent thousands with Camille's business. I believe Camille should have offered to make me happy and fix the issue at no cost. I now see it is all about the money and not the customer service. I was not trying to take advantage. I just want my color right and get what I had already paid for. With that being said, I usually go to the hair school (Mitchell's Hair Academy) to get a haircut and highlights. Sure - the process is a hassle because it normally takes around 3 hours to complete, but the end result is flawless due to the hair stylists being guided by their instructors the whole time. Unfortunately, I was in a time crunch before I left for a summer internship and only had two days to schedule an appointment before my departure. With Mitchell's being fully booked, I had to result to Groupon to search out another good deal. That is when I found Amanda's inclusive haircut + highlight deal for $75 and I immediately jumped on it. When I got there, it was kind of hard to find as the whole building is comprised of individual salon shops. After making a couple of loops around the building, I found the correct salon. I told Amanda what I wanted with regard to style and cut and she started foiling my hair. After completely foiling my hair and sticking me under the hair dryer for a good amount of time, only THEN did she ask me if my previous hair stylists toned my hair. As I go to the hair school, I was not aware if they did because they instantly know what they need to do to make my hair the way I want. She then informed me that in order to get the colored highlights that I was requesting (caramel highlights on brown hair), I would have to PURCHASE an additional $25 worth of toner to make the highlights that I had originally requested turn out the way I had previously described. Needless to say, as I had already paid $75 for the groupon, I showed up to the salon with only enough money to give her a tip. Therefore, I had no money to pay an additional amount to receive the color that I was originally promised. By the end of the cut and blow dry, my hair was completely botched because the highlights weren't attuned to my hair - they were only bleached. After going to another salon to get it fixed, they informed me that she knew from the beginning that the foiling would only bleach my hair. Therefore it was very deceiving of her to only ask after she had fully foiled my hair on whether I wanted to purchase an additional toning package.

I also asked her does she have a cool setting on the blow dryer. Patricia told me "I'm a professional of over 30 years. I don't usually do all this ask and forth texting. I will see you for your appointment where we can discuss your service." I responded to Patricia by stating that "I'm sure you are a professional woman with years of experience. However, I called the shop twice. I also left a voice message that I did not get a response. On Saturday, I went to the shop and called again. That's when you answered the phone. But I think a stylist that is less busy would be a better fit for you. Good luck in your search." Unless you a celebrity stylist, your business is customer-based, you will be more successful if you learn professional etiquette in dealing with potential new customers. I fully expected her to wash again and style with twists. I believe the consultation was $25-35 but of course the 2 stand twists were another $90+. I was completely fine with that as I would be walking out with a style. I pulled up to this long driveway and there were no cars in the driveway. Many of us have experienced this in the past, getting to a locked salon. I really thought this type of experience was in my past. You know... sitting in the car trying to remember if you had the wrong day or time. I expected a higher level of service at a place like this. After 15 minutes a car drove in. I waited until she got out to make sure she was the stylist. When I saw her reach In the car for the laundry basket full of towels, I was reassured. She didn't even look in my direction to give me the familiar head knod to acknowledge me or simply okay me to come in. Like totally ignored me like I was the one that was late. Very awkward...I know she saw me. She drove past me to park closer to the door and this is a huge, private driveway with only our 2 cars. When I walked in she didn't apologize for being late. She verified my name and told me to check in at the kiosk without any further instructions. And then asked me if I had been there before as I struggled to figure out how to work the device. She she showed me how to check in using what looked like an iPad on a stand. Things went well from then onward. She measured my hair and did all the things. I had the quote. I was ready to book and we found a weekend she could install the microlocs. A few days later I got a voicemail from someone (not the stylist) at the salon that said they could not accommodate me and are canceling my appointment. She gave me the name and number of another salon that I could try. Some place in Garner!!! SMH! Really? The place looked legit online but I wasn't going to Garner. This place was already way out the way. No explanation! Nothing! This left a very bad taste in my mouth. I never would have wasted my time or paid for a consultation if they were just gonna cancel like that. And I paid $90+ for a style I could have done at home.
