Stumbled in to this neighborhood salon to get my daughters haircut and decided to then get my own cut and color. It had been a long time since my last hair appt because I no longer wanted to pay $200+ for a cut and color to only put my hair in a ponytail every day. Michelle chose a great overall color for me and highlighted it with blond... I had never put blond in my mousy brown hair and was super apprehensive, even after she had revealed the color I still wasn't sure about it, but once out of the salon I received compliments from everyone I knew. I have been back twice now for touch ups and trims. Michelle always greets me with a smile and is very personable. I walked in on a Sunday, end of July, hot outside. "I want something short." I waited for about 5 minutes, while I pulled up pics of short cuts on my phone. I've gone to Ysabel for years for haircuts. She is a pro with long hair. My 22 year old daughter goes to her as well and has been very happy. She lives in Boston but gets her haircut when she is home because she hasn't found anyone as talented and reasonable as Ysabel. After trying to decide where to go to finally do something different to my hair decided on this place due to the high reviews and was not disappointed. Michelle did my hair. I wanted something different, something like a purple/red balayage but in the end we picked out a purple. It turned out great and I got lots of compliments on it. It did turn out brighter than I anticipated but worked well with my dark hair and is really only very bright in sunlight. She blow dried and curled my hair after (much quicker and nicer than I can do myself). Price was very reasonable. Color stayed through my first wash which I previously had a problem with when I got my hair done somewhere else. read more

Michelle is fantastic. I'd put off getting a haircut for the better part of a year but needed to get one for a marketing photo for my job. My parents, who live in the area, recommended V-studio as they'd heard great things. I was apprehensive, as I always am before a haircut, because I'm not good at telling the stylist what I want yet am pretty picky about my hair. This time I brought a few example photos and told Michelle I needed a cut that works with my hair texture and requires NO product and basically no styling beyond combing it. Easy, right? Just poop me a unicorn and I'll be happy. Anyway, Michelle listened to me and translated my vague ramblings into an awesome haircut that gets me compliments every day. I blow it dry for 1-2 minutes max upside down with no styling tool and THAT'S IT. Sometimes I just air dry it after combing with a pick. Her cutting skills are just superb. She is careful and conscientious in her approach and her rates are very reasonable. I live 2.5h away but schedule my haircuts around visits to my family. No need to find someone in my area as long as I can get in to see Michelle. Would ask her to do a short cut for me in a heartbeat -- she's that good and also seems to be a genuinely nice person. Got my hair done today, of course by my favorite stylist, Chi V. He is honestly, hands down, one of the most talented hair stylists I have been too and I will definitely stay with him for awhile. He always impresses me, especially this time. I was a little iffy since I don't like my hair to be so vibrant but I am starting to love it. It just shows his talents so much as well. He can do almost anything to your hair and transform you into a new person. I definitely recommend him if you go here. I know the young woman that works here does great hair as well she also does bridal/formal hair and makeup. I looked through some of her pictures when I was waiting for the dye to set in and she looks like she does pretty great work. I recommend anyone to go here. They even have a cute little car for kids to sit in while they get their hair cut. They also have complimentary cookies, tea, and water. Can't wait to see what my next look will be! read more

Ok, I at the risk of sounding like a snob, I will tell you not to book an appointment with Celest. I am sorry, I really am, but here is why: I made an appointment to get a trim and a re-layer. I went in, it was an ok experience.. one thing I did not like is that as she cut, she also scrunched your hair. I have never seen anyone do that before. So, I went on with my day, I noticed that my layers were uneven and VERY close to each other.. i am talking about a quarter of an inch between longest layer and shortest layer. I called and asked for an appointment to make the layers more noticeable, she fit me in the very next day. The next morning, I flat ironed my hair and noticed that my layers were very very uneven, there were parts of my hair that were over an inch longer than the same area on the opposite side. I pointed this out to her when I went in, I TRUSTED that she would be able to correct the problem, however I when I left my hair was even MORE uneven.. AND the layers were extremely choppy. I was even asked by some of my coworkers if I tried to cut my hair myself... people.. save your hair and your money. I now have to go and pay again to get this fixed. read more
