Awful service. My girlfriend received a ride to the dealership because we had dropped off the car they were supposed to be working on the day before. My girlfriend walked into the dealership with 0 greeting and waited for someone to help her with rental service that she was promised. She ended up waiting for 2 hours before even being acknowledged by someone.And there was 0 apology for the ridiculous wait time .Within 5 minutes they realized she wasnt old enough to get a rental car. and she wasn't even told that by the advisor who was "helping" her. 0 accountability. read more

I had been searching four state, 200 mile radius to find a replacement for my insurance total. Michigan Auto found one in good shape for it's age (over 15 years) and at a reasonable price , considering what the insurance was evaluating. There are some superficial chips and scratches, but runs and drives solid. They let me take it for the day and have my mechanic and my body shop manager indpect it. $50-100 here is worth it- they both said solid- only issue was oxygen sensors intermittantly throwing a code. This was willingly repaired for purchase. Purchase was for full asking price, which was reasonable for the market listings. Not trying to haggle the price down gives them some room for these accomodations. This is now my everyday transportation, at over 15 years old and over 150,000 miles, and I am confident driving it all over the state. Would I buy a car from them again? It seems Lisa has her eye on an Acura or a Lexus. read more

Purchased my daughter's first car here. He sold me a warranty without explaining the details or providing the entire contract. Imagine my surprise that when I tried to use the warranty for a $700 repair, it was not covered. I have tried to contact the dealer to give them a chance to do what is right, but they will not return my calls. Avoid. read more

I feel it is my duty to warn people: DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM MICHIGAN AUTO SALES ON WEST MAIN IN KALAMAZOO. They sold us my teenage daughters car, and a month after driving it, the radiator FELL OUT of the vehicle. It was in the shop for the past month, and so far they have found over $6000 worth of damages/safety issues with this car. The tip of the iceberg was the radiator, which was ZIP TIED into the housing. Every mechanic that we have spoken to, or that has looked at this vehicle is in utter disbelief. In addition to the main issue, they had put different sized tires on the vehicle, so it was unstable in that way as well. When I went to buy new tires, the wheel was found to be cracked, so that had to be replaced as well. We were naive in trusting this small family owned business, and taking them at their word that safety checks had been done. The car was a "certified pre-owned" vehicle. My family purchased vehicle 3 months ago. A few weeks after purchasing the Honda and driving it down west main a large circular piece of metal came flying out from under our van and we lost power steering. We had the van towed and had to fix the crank pulley and some other minor issues. Being reasonable people we understood that something smaller could go out at anytime and although we were disappointed that we were investing a significant amount of money into a car we just purchased we fixed it and moved on. A month later I went to have our oil changed and was told whoever changed the oil last stripped the internal threads on the oil cap so that would need to be replaced otherwise we'd be leaking oil. (This was the first oil change we have needed to make) We once again fixed the issue but began to get discouraged. We had to travel to out of state over the holidays and on our way down there our check engine light started blinking and we lost a significant amount of power to our van. We pulled off at the next exit and had it evaluated. We were not able to drive it to our final destination because of its condition and had to have a mechanic evaluate it. It was looked at by two different mechanics and both agreed that our engine would need to be completely replaced and it would be about 4K to do so. We were also told more than once that if we purchased this vehicle a couple of months ago it was known that their was some sort of engine issues. Every company comes across issues and I don't think they should be labeled as a poor company without the opportunity to make it right or have a conversation. Many times how a company who has issues responds to them will make me trust/respect/recommend them even more. We reached out via email asking if we could have a conversation and the only response we were granted was a ""(thumbs down emoticon). We were so blown away by how unprofessional and impolite the owner would be in response to an unfortunate circumstance. I also see another review on here which mimics our situation all too closely. I can only help that someone will read this review and will be able to avoid a situation like we ended up with. read more

These guys specialize in used Toyota and Honda cars/SUV. The transaction was smooth and easy! I don't remember the older gentlemen's name, but he was not pushy at all! He did the paperwork and I was out the door in about 1/2 hour. I recommend people check this place out if you want a Honda or Toyota used.
