Always a great way to start and finish your day at the parks and Downtown Disney. Disney does there best to keep the flow moving but the lines can get fairly long. Pick up is at Mickey and Friends parking (close to Pixar Parking as well) and drop off within close walking distance to the parks and outside of Downtown Disney. It is a nice leisurely drive. Both parks are also within walking distance (cut through the Pixar parking structure and cross the bridge on level 2). Sometimes you just do not feel like making that trek though and the trams are a great, convenient option! Tip, avoid peak times for riding such as after the fireworks. Hang out and grab a snack, coffee/cocoa or even do a little shopping before heading out and let the crowds dies down. read more

You'll need to go through security before riding the tram. Once through security, you'll line up to go onto the Tram. If it's busy, you may need to wait for a few different trams! The tram will drop you off towards the entrance to Disneyland and California Adventure. The drop-off point is right at the Disney Store at Downtown Disney. We usually take the Tram in the morning and in the evening to get back to the parking garage! Thank goodness for the Tram! Can you imagine if this didn't exist?! We would have to walk for dayssssss just to get to the front. Where we would walk some more lol The tram stops and picks you up right after you have your purses and bags checked. Once you are cleared you can pick a line- any line. And wait for the next tram to pull up. Sit down and enjoy the ride. It's a little bumpy, but smooth for the most part. Getting in and out isn't the easiest because of the way you have to lift the handle up to open the doors. I'm not sure who came up with that idea, but it sucks lol seems like there would be an easier way to open and close the doors to the tram. In any case, I'm still happy this thing exists! read more

Since they moved the whole tram loading area from the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure outside area to the ground parking level underneath, the wait time for these trams have decreased by a significant amount. They now have more trams stopping by every couple minutes and it flows really fast. A leisurely stroll through Downtown Disney on the way to the entrance plaza is nice on occasion, but riding a tram that drops you off that much closer to the park entrance is slightly better than a Sherpa trek with a fully laden stroller. Adding an extra freight car to the tram train or even a separate stroller/wheelchair tram would be nice because the stroller line is sometimes an extended wait. It's already a chore packing up the gear, then getting through the security checkpoint. I'm sure it's frustrating for everyone involved having to wait for a small, slow moving vehicle with precious cargo to be loaded onto a larger, slow moving vehicle packed with anxious individuals ready to spend the day waiting in another line. Countless trams continue their cycle of picking up and dropping off. The anticipation of approaching the amusement park and the final carriage providing a moment of rest. Bringing your tired, achy feet closer to your vehicle. It's one of my favorite Disneyland rides. read more

I'm a fan of the Disneyland Tram! It is way better than walking to the park. You can see people walking on the sidewalk on the other side of the fence. I like how they have trams coming and going regularly. The wait is never very long, even if you need to take the next one. This "ride" has probably got the shortest wait time of all the rides in Disneyland! I love the breeze that we get along the way. So refreshing, even if it is hot air on a hot day! After walking all day, it is nice to be able to just sit and take a load off. When you reach the end of the line, you will need to remember where you parked and make your way to your car. read more

The DT is tram-tastic! It's an easy way to get from the main high-rise parking structure for the Disneyland resort to the Downtown Disney area. From there it's a quick walk over to the security line to get you in to the open plaza area between Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. We've never had a problem with the tram. On busier days they open both left and right sides for loading in order to get people where they need to go. Occasionally we've had funny Cast Members on the tram ride who provide humorous announcements while you're chugging along. Overall this is a efficient, clean, and organized way to get to and from your car at Disneyland. But remember to stay behind the yellow line! read more

For those families that have LOs that still sit in a stroller, the first & last car allows you to get on without folding the stroller -- A MAJOR PLUS when you have more than 1 child in tow & bags to lug around, & usually there's an attendant that will assist you. It's recommended to seat the kids away from the edge, especially if your toddler has tendencies to lean out. I've seen a few close calls, & saved a boy once by yanking him back by his collar. :-O Some visitors trek it to the entrance. Well, I have 2 LOs & figure I'll be walking enough once we're in the park, so no thanks... I'll take the tram. ;-) It's a pretty efficient system to get you to the Magic Kingdom called Disneyland. read more

This is probably the best parking structure in all of Anaheim. If your goal is to over pay for a concrete parking structure connected to Disneyland Resort...well the fact is you don't have another option, unless this structure is randomly closed and then the Disneyland Resort expects you to drive across the resort using their poorly designated street signs to the additional parking by the Convention Center. The positive to the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure is that the Tram takes you right into Downtown Disney, which is a precursor for the wait times at the park. As can be expected anywhere, the longest wait is for security, although The Disneyland Resort does prove that customer service and efficiency can exist when doing a security check on your guests, something that TSA doesn't take into account at airports and sea ports around the country. Today one of the security guards stopped me, quiet within his right, letting me know that my glass bottle of Health Ade Kombucha was not allowed in the park...here is where the Disney cast member training kicks in...he tells me that he is more the happy to offer me a cup to pour the drink into based on the fact that he knew the cost of the drink. Just another reason why I don't complain about the $25 parking fee. The only thing more memorable then a day the Disneyland Resort itself is the memorable smell of propane fumes coming from the Tram! read more

Lines are horrible in the morning, and when the park is beginning to get closer to closing hours, but midday the lines are not bad and you can ride back and fourth to the parking structure with little to no wait. You could walk it to the park, but you will still need to get through security when you reach Downtown Disney. Then you'll need to walk all the way to the esplanade. So save your legs for the parks! They now have you go through security screening at the parking structure before you get on the tram. Getting on the tram is free-for-all. Everybody congregates at one of the openings and then get in a row that has some space. If it's too crowded, don't stress out or worry, as there will be another one right behind it. As with anything Disney, they'll have decorations and stuff to look at along the tram route to get you excited for another day at the park. read more

Hold tight to your mickey ears and cuddle up with your buddies! I always get cold on the tram ride to the Downtown Disney and Disney parks entrances. They changed the security in 2017 - no more bag checks after the tram ride. The security is set up just outside the parking lots, in front of the escalators. After you pass security, you can wait in line for the tram. I found out recently there's no eating or drinking, not that I ever did. But I found trash on the tram once and I was really upset at whoever left that all over the seat and floor. read more

If you park at the "Mickey and Friends" lot, the Disneyland Tram will be just beyond the stairs/elevators/escalators and (eventually) the security checkpoint. I did see a few families with strollers, but not too many. If someone in your party necessitates a manual or motorized wheelchair, I think they have to take a shuttle bus instead. (Didn't see too many of those at Disneyland - wheelchairs, that is.) Waiting to get onto an available tram was only a matter of minutes. The tram lets you off just before you get to the "Downtown Disney District" area... which is just a brief walk to the ticket booths and the entrances to both Disneyland and California Adventure theme parks. A one-way ride is no more than 5 minutes long. Seats about 5 people to a row. Seat belts are not required, but little ones have to sit in the middle, of course. The Disneyland Trams open aired trams are the best way that you get to and from Downtown Disney, Disneyland, and the California Adventure Park from the Mickey and Friends parking structure, which is by far my favorite parking structure for Disney. It always makes my family happy because you actually feel like you're at Disneyland while riding their tram versus hopping on one of their enclosed vans or buses from the Toy Story lot, which makes you feel like you parked miles away from the park. The Disneyland trams are so convenient to catch when dealing with a stroller and a toddler. You can easily wait towards the front of each section where each tram stops to get a wider seating area to accommodate your extra carry-on items and stroller. Otherwise at the other lots, you have to stand in this long line and hand your stroller and larger items to the bus driver to store underneath the bus and so forth. I'd much rather be responsible for my own things. The process ends up being simpler and much quicker. The trams come and go every couple of minutes, so there's never a rush to get in line for the stroller section and as always the Disney workers have the whole process very organized and running smooth. read more

I normally walk from parking lot to the park, but this is nice and helpful and takes you right from the parking structure to Downtown Disney near the entrance of the parks... this ride is free and does NOT go upside down or spin. There is usually a wait on busy days but the trams run constantly so your wait is never really that long in comparison. Best tram ride ever! For your first ride in the Disneyland resort, the tram takes you to your Disney destination. The drivers are courteous, safe, and well organized. This definitely beats walking to or from the parking lot. Be aware of the stroller sections of the tram. I advise you to find a spot near the front of the tram when you want to enter the park and to find a spot near the back of the tram when you are exiting the park, this makes it easier if you are a person on the go and wanting to be closer to where you need to be. Don't forget to stay behind the yellow line when waiting for the tram and keep your hands inside the vehicle at all times for your safety. Make sure small children are placed towards the middle and watch your head as you enter/exit the vehicle. May you have a magical day wherever your destination may be! read more

What can you say I love the tram, hate the line. They shuffle you in and out as quick as they can with the minimal amount of public interaction. This has to be on purpose since most of the public getting in and out have a) really lame jokes to tell - is mickey driving? what kind of license does a mouse need to have, hehe... b) stupid questions - how long do you think the corn dog line is now. you know the one at DCA not at the end of mainstreet... c) ridiculous complaints - these seats do not fit my stroller very well and it is very uncomfortable... The Disneyland tram is a classic. A few years ago they updated the tram and put actual doors on it. I'm assuming because the tram is slow enough to just jump off and piss off the entire tram staff. I stopped using the tram because of the convenience of the A/C buses. This way I avoid massive unregulated lines and engine fumes. One thing to note: I loved that one tram employee who had a great goofy impression. You're the best man! read more

You get to line up, follow the crowds of course, but when you exit the parking structure, you should be on the left hand side to get in line on the tram. You wait for the tram and then it takes you to the entrance of the Happiest Place on Earth.
