This is my first time having a Sonoran Hot Dog. The location has plenty of parking, outdoor seating and a few tables inside. The staff are super friendly and explained to me what was included on a Sonoran Hot Dog. The hot dog is wrapped in bacon with beans, tomato, onions, ketchup, mustard and mayo on a soft hot dog bun. It seemed priced reasonably at $5 for a loaded hot dog.

I came for the hot dogs but left with a misunderstanding! I was disappointed that the hotdogs only came with mixed meat, because I don't eat pork. Despite the name, all the customers were eating Mexican food, also with a limited menu. They have only pork and beef for meats (no chicken or shrimp), and there is no rice. So I ordered a burrito with steak, beans and cheese and a vampiro tostada with similar ingredients. They charged me $13 and then gave me just one burrito. Something was lost in translation, and I couldn't eat any of it. Too much meat and nothing else to balance it. My div Zeke really enjoyed every bite!

I went to AZ recently, learned what Sonoran hot dogs were, and really wanted to try one. This spot is small and unassuming from the outside, but staff is very is kind. Sonoran hot dogs with everything on top will run you about $5, but a little extra if you pay with card. They will write your order down and you take to a staff member outside who hooks it up with the toppings. These dogs were tasty and quite filling. First Sonoran hot dog experience was a success!

Hot dogs from Mickey's are very good! Made fresh as you order them. Price is also reasonable they also sell Mexican bottled sodas which pairs really well with this type of food. It's also both indoor/outdoor seating. Parking is kind of tight so just be aware of peak times. When in Mesa I'd highly recommend coming here if you crave soñoran hot dogs.

Great little place, indoor and outdoor seating available. Food is priced fairly for the freshly made delicious food. Staff are wonderful and even when they run out of beans/horchata - still a great time

We stopped here when in town and my friend wanted a Sonoran dog. While standing in line a customer told us to get the hot dogs. We wound up getting a Sonoran dog, a small beef caramelo, a chicken taco and 2 birria tacos. The caramelo was really yummy, the birria tacos were not what I expected, but were good. There is a salsa and condiment bar to finish off your meal). The Sonoran dog was sloppy here (she compared it to the one she got at El Guero Canelo, which she liked better). Not a fancy place, but I find some of the best places are just simple Mom and Pop type places.

I ordered a carne asada burrito with beans and cheese. No beans or cheese in sight.

And those fries are excellent on their own: thin-cut, crisped just right, with bits of potato skin mixed in for texture. The dog lineup is solid, with plenty of variety, but I usually stick with the all-beef frank. Everything's made to order, so there's typically a bit of a wait, but you get a buzzer so you can mind your own business while waiting. The space is a plus too, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. On my latest visit, a large group of bicyclists rolled in--some in full hot dog costumes, others in hot dog-print gear. They were all super friendly and cleaned up after themselves and it added to the whole experience. Consistently great food, a peaceful or fun atmosphere, and attention to the little things that matter.

We've been coming here for about five years now, and it's one of those places that just stays consistent. You'll usually see a line, but don't let that scare you off--everything is made fresh right in front of you, so the short wait is part of the experience. What really sets this place apart is the grill. You can watch them cook your hot dog or sausage to order, getting that perfect snap on the casing with nice grill marks. The texture alone makes a big difference--it's crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. They've got a ton of topping options too--probably a dozen or more. Whether you're into sauerkraut, sautéed peppers and onions, chili, or keeping it classic, you can build it exactly how you like it. The sides are solid. The fries are good, and the onion rings are a little different--thinner and softer than most--but still tasty. This isn't necessarily a place we go every week, but when the craving for a really good hot dog hits, this is where we go. It's definitely a local favorite, and you can tell by how many regulars have been coming here for decades. We've also heard they might be opening a location in Gilbert soon, which would be awesome. Overall, great food, fresh off the grill, and always hits the spot.

In a world full of polished, cookie-cutter chain restaurants, this place is a breath of fresh air. The first time I walked through the door, it felt like stepping into a time machine. It took me back to a simpler time when people smiled at each other, knew their neighbors, and gathered around great food and good conversation. Higley Hot Dog Hut isn't trying to be trendy or fancy--it's a genuine piece of the community, and that's exactly why I love it. The hot dogs are absolutely phenomenal, loaded with flavor and made exactly the way a great hot dog should be. Their Italian beef is among the best I've had this side of Chicago. The French fries are always hot, fresh, generously portioned, and seasoned just right. One of my favorite things is that I can still grab an old-fashioned root beer float here. Between the classic menu, friendly atmosphere, and throwback prices, it's a place where you can enjoy a great meal with family and friends without emptying your wallet. Restaurants like this are becoming harder and harder to find, which makes me especially grateful that Higley Hot Dog Hut is still here serving the community. Great food, great people, great prices, and a whole lot of character. Long live the Hut!
