David Shawn of Miconi Tiles remodeled a bathroom for me in our family home. He reorganized the space to fit in a stackable washer/dryer. The bedrooms and bathroom are on the second floor so it was very convenient.. He installed a jacuzzi bathtub. At first I couldn't see how every thing would work together and it came out great. The master bedroom had a tiny shower. And there again, he took advantage of of the space, moved a closet and we have a wonderful walk in toilet. Miconi has a lot of great designs to choose from. Service was great from David and his partner through the process, installation, Jesus and team was amazing. Great job on installation and easy to collaborate with. Only thing is hard to choose products at their showroom because limited selection and hard to see everything clearly, they just need some help organizing and displaying product, however, they can likely find it if you know what you want. Downside payment and terms NOT clear from the get go, I had to make four payments and process archaic, so took time and frustrated all, so caused some rough moments that could have been completely mitigated and the experience different. Would all be much smoother if they used an up to date payment method, likely electronic. read more

David did a great job helping us to select the material for our new countertops but they were installed incorrectly which resulted in a huge crack after just over a year. This caused a lot of problems for us and was a huge bummer. read more

Our bathroom reconstruction project with Miconi Marble & Tile was a resounding success. A slow leak from our master bathroom's shower piping created somewhat extensive water damage (much not evident until we could open things up). David and his team at MM&T were consistently professional throughout out engagement, and unlike several other contractors we interviewed, MM&T did not advocate for a "let's tear it all up and re-do the entire bathroom". MM&T's approach was sensible, measured, and put OUR best interests from and center. This approach turned out to be spot-on as the damage was not as extensive as we feared. MM&T performed some targeted demolition/tear-out of damaged materials, and then rebuilt much of the shower structure. This work was undertaken with great planning and care to ensure that we'd never have the same problem again. Once MM&T moved to retiling, sealing, and finishing, they took great care to ensure the job was perfectly... work of an artisan. All said, I can and do confidently recommend MM&T for their work. This was a JOB DONE RIGHT and with consistent attention and effort to do right by the customer (us). read more

The estimator who came out was polite but failed to disclose the nefarious conditions of his employer's required contract for a very minor, less than 150 4 x 4 inch tile installation with all materials already on premises. Contract proposed was completely open-ended with no prices listed for hourly rates nor an estimate of hours to be worked, and wrongly included "materials costs" plus 15 percent sales taxes when all required materials were already on premises. Attorneys at law since 1970s, my wife and I rejected these charlatans. read more

After spending $10,000 on a bathroom remodel, I've barely scratched the surface. The circulation system that costs $4933 is completely ineffective. The original quote was for a fraction of this cost. New items kept getting added because the quote did not cover the full scope of my project. Finally, Friday before we were due to start construction on Monday, my quote was available. $1800 double charge. I created a spreadsheet of new charges, spent to date. To complete with paint, new pump for jetted tub, the cost would be $40,000+ or - The existing tile will remain in place around my tub and most of the floor, one light fixture, 40 year old bath tub and it's $40 grand. When I purchased the toilets, my invoice was for double what was quoted by the retailer. At every turn, there were extra charges for items that were obvious at the outset. Hidden fees for work not clearly quoted. Bills for cleaning when they left my house a disaster. read more

This place is not worth the hassle. I do not recommend this business to order your tile at; there are a lot of other places that offer better customer service and care. There are also other stores that offer a much better retail experience than the clutter of tiles everywhere in the store. My experience: After a promising initial conversation with the owner David, I was unfortunately passed on to Darryl Groom and had a tough experience working with Darryl to get our two orders of tile. While some of the challenges was due to our initial estimate from our tile vendor in addition to Happy Floors mixups, Darryl was less than helpful throughout. Couple of issues: - They are slow. They were unmotivated to get back to me and provide the necessary information for my order, getting my order placed, or even letting me know when my shipment arrived, despite it being an urgent order. There were a couple of times that I never heard from Darryl except for when I included David on the email. And one time, Darryl finally emailed me to let me know that my tile had arrived the day before. - Beware of their pricing. To exacerbate the issue, while the initial tile price was very reasonable, the upcharge on shipping and handling is exorbitantly high ($125) - with a $50 markup beyond what Happy Floors charges to ship the tile (which I head directly from the sales person is only $75). When we had to reorder a small order for extra tile, we really got hit was the high S&H fee still. Which is insanely high given the lack of customer service we received. - Lack of care. While not Miconi's fault, Happy Floors shipped tile from the wrong shade lot - twice. While this was on Happy Floors, Darryl didn't really bother helping find ways to resolve the situation - e.g. to try to encourage the distributor to expedite shipment or find ways to make good on this issue. For example, when we worked with another vendor for our hardwood floors and the shipment arrived damaged, the retailer helped us get replacement flooring quickly and resolved the issue directly with the distributor. That level of customer service was night and day to what I received from Miconi. At the end of the day, it was a really challenging experience and while I understand there were some issues that were not at the fault of Miconi, I really wished there was more motivation on Darryl's behalf to do right for the customer... but unfortunately I saw none of that. So I recommend avoiding this place sadly. read more

Basically Miconi and their Tiler, Juan did a good job. We did have problems when the wrong shade of tile was shipped and partially installed when we noticed an error had been made and then ther was more delay waiting for the correct tile to be delivered and the incorrect tile being removed but this may have been the tile company and the shipper's fault and not Miconi. David Shawn was very helpful in his suggestions as to how tile surfaces and angles in this master bath were constructed and I am grateful for his expertise. read more

Our rental unit had a large leak in the ceiling coming from the bathroom above. The plumber we called said the problem was most likely due to improper caulking in the new shower that had been recently installed in the upper unit. They recommended I call Miconi. Miconi came right away, removed the old caulking and did an excellent job re-caulking the whole shower and stopped the leak. I was very pleased with the work that was done. Al S. read more

I love my kitchen! Miconi was competively priced, very fast and knew what I wanted! I had tried very hard to get ahold of another contractor in san rafael but they wouldnt return calls, had no voicemail and seemed to not understand the idea of a written quote being faxed over. So, I called Miconi and David came out same day for a quote. I showed him a sample of the red composite and blue composite I'd like, and said "I want red like this, but with the sparkle of this blue..." "Oh cesarstone has that! That's easy to get!" Can't say enough great things about the work that was done for us by Miconi Marble & Tile! We had remodeled our kitchen a few months ago, but had not installed the backsplash. We lived with a blank canvas and finally selected the tile to use. It was slightly complicated, because the tile does not have exactly straight edges. We thought we knew how we wanted it installed, but after speaking to the installers, we took their suggestion. The result was amazing!! I sincerely cannot think of it looking any better! read more
