My husband and I went to Micro Center in a bit of a panicky to get security cameras. We were assisted by Ralph O'Neal, who was very knowledgeable on the products they offered. We weren't sure what configurations we needed but Ralph took his time with us. He listened to our needs and thoroughly explained every item, the items specifications and how it would help us. To top it off, he even price matched our items with local competitors on the spot!! Who does that?? Saved us over $80 and gave us more than we expected. Micro Center is consistently the best quality, lowest priced electronics store I've found, hands down. I've know about Micro Center for a few years now, and felt positively towards it since it began offering free USB flash drives or memory cards in weekend newspaper inserts. After we were initially lured into the store by free digital storage space, I realized they really do have a wide variety of products for good prices. They do this by offering refurbished products alongside new, selling floor models, and carrying a pretty wide array of products inside a relatively small floor space. My latest foray involved searching for a new laptop, and surprisingly, the salesman I interacted with turned out to be more helpful than overbearing and hard-selling. Upon entrance I truly didn't really know what I needed, but did have a few specifics and a general price range. After talking with him and him recommending various models and highlighting their features and benefits, I came away with a much better idea of what I needed and wanted. I didn't end up purchasing anything that night - I'm not an impulse buyer by nature and prefer to mull over my decisions and shop around, but I think this weekend I'll probably pull the trigger and go back for a model he pointed me towards after assessing my needs and requirements. And I know from previous experiences of my own and of my friends that Micro Center is consistently well priced, helpful after the sale, and delivers quality products. I'm a fan. read more

It's Micro Center (they still exist?); it has horrible customer service and clueless salesmen. Every single time I entered this location, I overheard salesmen tell ignorant soccer moms the most bizarre, misplaced information, and I highly suspect it was not to get the sale, but because they seriously had no idea what they were talking about. Save your money and go to Fry's Electronics or a more mainstream establishment such as Best Buy, both of which are practically on opposite sides of each other beside I-85 on Pleasant Hill. Went here looking for a powerline adapter. I spent about 15 mins in front of aisles and adapters and sales people walked by me several times not asking if i had any questions or needed help. I would have snagged someone earlier if i knew finding the AV500 would be like a treasure hunt! I did go to a gentleman in front of a computer and he couldn't find it either and had to ask someone who i think worked in the network department. Stores like this where the salespeople are high-pressure and clearly working for a commission always make me uncomfortable. I always try to avoid this store whenever I can. About a year ago, I came in here looking for a thumb drive, and had already found the one I wanted by the time a salesman walked over to help. "No thanks, I already found this thumb drive and that's all I'm going to--" and without even letting me finish, the salesman slaps a sticker on the thumb drive in my hand and walks away. I put that stickered one back on the shelf and got another one. I'm not letting some guy make a commission for finding me too late! Ugh. I came here again last week because, after checking three other stores nearby, I couldn't find a simple flatbed scanner for cheap. I really was trying to avoid this store, but my boyfriend insisted that we try Micro Center. I had a particular model of scanner in mind, and lo and behold, as soon as I walked in here, it was literally the first thing I saw when I walked in the door, which I was thankful for because, again, we didn't have to deal with skeezy salesfolk. It's also super creepy how they try to keep your address and credit card data on file. I almost never carry cash, but I use it at this store. Micro Center is one of the very few specialty computer stores that competes with the product line-up available at Fry's Electronics. We purchased a new Sony notebook computer here at a respectably low price and also a Diamond Radeon HD 5770 video card, which Micro Center price-matched to newegg.com's price. We were quite surprised when the sales person indicated they could match the respected online dealer's price, so surprised that we're not sure if this policy will hold true for all deals. Both Micro Center (22 national stores) and Fry's Electronics (34 national stores) are a much rarer breed than the ubiquitous Best Buy, but their product selection is vastly superior. So, if you're in the market for a notebook or a computer component and you live within an hour drive of Duluth, you should definitely cross-shop Micro Center against Fry's. I have been shopping at this store since the weekend it opened, over a decade ago. It too like the area has gone through phases of good and bad. Currently, it is not at its best. I went in to find a particular item and that was successful, but not without help. The store had typically been a disorganized mess, akin to a flea market, but that's slowly gotten a little better. Although on this trip I could not find what I was looking for and the online store mapping has slowly been getting more and more inaccurate over time (eg what's supposed to be on aisle 31 is no where near aisle 31). Lately the bigger issue; as I encountered yesterday was getting them to price match and the rudeness of their employees, specifically the cashier, who was an immature brat, thinking that I wouldn't catch her resounding sigh of bothering her to get a manager involved when she without blatant regard refused to price match a competitor on an additional item I decided I wanted while browsing through the store. The Front End Supervisor who did assist was a bit more pleasant although not really apologetic, only offered the explanation that the new manager made up this policy of no longer matching certain places because they are too competitive. The place I asked to match was about $17 less than what the item was marked, and then when we looked at a place they would match it was $39 less than the price marked - she gave me that price when all I was expecting was the $17 she was not allowed to match... WHAT?! While I was certainly thankful for that, I clearly stated my position that if the policy is to no longer be competitive, I will take my business elsewhere from now on. I wasn't even thanked for my loyalty as a customer. As a solid, loyal customer, I expect to be treated right and taken care of. It is people like me who keep you in your jobs and in business. If you no longer care about providing me with good customer service, I'll turn to the faceless internet, because at least it doesn't talk back, give resounding sighs or put me through the stress and hassle of 'dealing' with how you suck at customer service. read more

I'm glad I live near this place. They offer a lot of things that you can usually only online because places like Best Buy only carry a limited expensive selection. While some of the things they sell are cheap or aren't a name brand a lot of it are things where brands don't matter, especially when you need computer parts or cables. I don't like how their commission based employees slap their little stickers on everything hoping to earn a buck regardless if they actually helped you. I ventured to Micro Center last week to see if they could fix my xbox 360 that is constantly overheating. Aside from the insane traffic it was a nice location. The parking lot and building look a bit worn but once inside it was filled with an array of items and the sales people weren't pushy. The woman I spoke to about fixing my xbox was very knowledgeable and gave me the adequate resources needed to find out who to send my gaming console to, pricing, and of course her own invaluable opinion on my situation (ie. that I should probably just purchase a new one :)) I am going to risk sounding like a nerd here and tell you they had a large selection of gaming accessories as well as games which I scoped out briefly. Overall, it was a good experience and if I ever need help with one of my gadgets or just want new accessories I will definitely be back. read more

I initially went to Best Buy to have them repair my laptop and when they weren't able to they suggested I go to Micro Center. This is a computer nerds strip club! Although they were not able to save my hard drive (never buy a Sony Vaio), they were able to get my computer back to factory standards. This place is such a joke. My hard drive crashed and I came here to replace it since it's too old for Apple to do it. If it was any hint at how the place operates, I called the location in Marrietta to make an appointment. Called from Apple, got someone and was told they were transferring me to another department. NO ONE PICKED UP and I was hung up on. Tried for a half an hour and still no one picked up. So I tried this location and right off the bat, wouldn't you know, SOMEONE PICKED UP! Good sign right, wrong. After all that it turns out they don't take appointments. So after I got out of work today, I drove 45 minutes to this location. There is no signage that says fix your computer here at all. So I walked around and found a free employee. Turns out it's at the Customer Service Desk in the front. Only one person was working there and she was slower then a senior walking. Get up there after 15 minutes of waiting and tell her what I need done and she doesn't know how much it would cost. She tells me they need to run a diagnostic on the computer. I say I don't need that I know what's wrong. She finally goes into the back to talk to the repair guy and come out saying its going to be $200 for the repair plus what ever it's going to be for the hard drive. I ask how much is a hard drive. Again she has no clue on how much that's going to. This is a computer store right? Shouldn't you know how much stuff is? You are customer service right? She tells me to go to the Apple section. Go there and the guy that's there doesn't even look like he works there. The only way for me to tell was that he had a name tag on. Once I tell him what I'm looking for he leads me to the front of the store where they are. Another thing the women got wrong. Wow she's bating 1.000 here. Get the price of the hard drive I want, another $60, so I'm up to $260 on something so simple. I then realize that she never told me if that included the installation of the Operating System, the one thing that started this witch hunt in the first place. I wait again in line for the customer service women, and again she has no clue what the heck I'm talking about. Where do they get these people? She goes in the back and I'm thinking its include because it's $200 for them to do it. WRONG! Another $100 for that. $360 for them to install a hard drive. Absolutely crazy. We were quite pleased with the deal on the computer which we had purchased earlier this year from Micro Center. Over the weekend, we had hoped to find a similar deal on a comparable computer for my husband. When we walked into the store, we had so many associates bugging us, that it made the shopping experience unpleasant. I understand they wanted to be helpful, but when we were ready to ask for help, we would then ask for assistance. After the 8th employee hit us up, we were done shopping at the store and went elsewhere. I appreciate that the staff wanted to be helpful, but when a customer does not need assistance, it would be much appreciated if the staff would have just let us shop in peace. We felt the prices were quite high for what we were looking for. I know that you are not always going to find that exceptional deal all the time, but for what we were looking to spend on a computer, down to the pushy assistance, we were turned off from making a purchase at this store. I went to micro Center the day after thanksgiving. I didn't receive the price of the notebook that I expected. Then, I see the price reduced two weeks later. I called them, the woman I spoke with said that they have a price guarantee and that the mgr. would be in touch with me. That was almost a week ago. The notebook didn't come with an owners manual. And, when I called acer about one, the heifer that I spoke with asked me did the notebook come in a box. As if I stole it. I did download the user's manual for the notebook; 69 pages, it decreased the ink in my new printer considerably. With a manual I was able to get familiar with all the features of the notebook. read more

I'm really happy with customer service, and the store manager is GREAT. I bought an open-box refurbished laptop for my wife, because the open box was $50 less. When I got it home, it wouldn't even boot. I was really frustrated and I immediately drove back. I asked the store manager to "meet me in the middle" and give me $25 off a new (sealed) laptop for my troubles. To my surprise she gave me the new one for the same price as the open box! While I'm a long-time MicroCenter fan, this is the first time I had a real problem. They dealt with the problem politely and professionally, and really exceeded my expectations. read more

So much wrong with a few good examples. First visit, I was told my Mac repair, a broken internal tracking pad, would cost about $350. I waited in line to turn it in. As I was waiting, there was a large gentleman who looked like he was about to faint. He had a cane. He told me the wheelchair was gone when he came in. He had to stand there for quite awhile. I finally told the guy behind the counter. He said they had a sort of bench toward the wall. I told him the gentleman would lose his place if he went that far. The worker promised to come and get him. Problem addressed. Got a call from the Mac repair guy. The repair was going to be over $650. I told him the estimate was about $350. He said no, that they have to replace the keyboard, the tracking pad, the battery, would all have to be replaced, so that's what it was. Well, that was the same thing the first estimate guy told me, rationalizing the $350. A few days out, I got a message: the repair guy said that it turns out he had misfigured, that it would be around $350. Okay.... Settled, I guess. I went in there to pick up my laptop today. The store is 25 minutes away. I decided to get a couple more electronic needs. A nice clerk took me over to the Apple area and pointed me to the apple expert, who was helping a man...so I looked a bit at the apple items on the wall, waiting. I turned around again, and the guy went off with a younger girl and her phone. He would not be back for 15 minutes and there was no one covering the area. I walked to another area and got a nice guy to help me with a car phone holder. It was great to have his personal experience. Then, on a whim, I asked him if he could help me in the apple department. He said he could. He did. Then I went to pick up my computer. There was no one working at the Customer Service desk. I stood there for a bit, then asked someone who was at a cash register, just around the corner. I could see her but she didn't see me. I called out and asked if there was anyone who could help me. So, as I waited for Microcenter to ring me up: $396, I opened my laptop to see if the keyboard and track pad might look new or something. Nope. It looked exactly the same, as if the same one was still in place. However, I would have no way of ascertaining that. I was just hoping for it to look new or something. I then noticed that the screen was all dirty. I asked the guy behind the counter if that was the practice, when someone picked up an almost $400 repair (and bought over $100 in other items.) He apologized and said that wasn't right. Well, I would just take care of it at home. They offered to clean it but I was running out of time. I went home and plugged the laptop in. Guess what? It wouldn't even turn on. I called Microcenter and was transferred three times, with the accompanying waiting, until my repair guy got on the phone. He said he'd tried it before it left the shop and it was working fine. He told me to press down Option, Command, R and P at the same time I pressed the power button because that would for sure turn off the computer. I did that, then turned it back on. Nope. Before I got off the phone, I told this guy who'd done the repairs that my screen was all dirty. I asked him if they didn't at least clean the screen before their $400 repairs went out. He apologized and said he usually did, but that one must have gotten away from him. Where is the pride in a job well done? Where is the customer service? I take home a dirty laptop that doesn't work. Now, I have to make the trip again, but I can't do it tomorrow: the apple repair guy won't be in. I can bring it in Thursday, and then we'll just start over again, I guess, and I will have to pick it up.....again. I have been there twice, and was disappointed both times. Looks like I'm in for a third time. I think that, next time, I'll just go to the Apple store. This store does an incredible business. They make huge amounts of sales every day, but it's hard to find good service or even decent in store help. All I can think of is that it must be a very bad place to work and morale is low. read more

Let's start with the good stuff. Great inventory, excellent pricing, and love the online ordering where I can order something from my house or mobile and pick it up bypassing the regular line. Now onto the bad stuff. Every associate needs to say hello to all customers, especially when they walk in the front door. Ever been to a QT gas station? You get my point now, right? A word to management, put more emphasis on the customer experience and read all the reviews regarding store associates and how they interact with customers. I very rarely complain about poor customer service, but during this very busy time for me going above and beyond to make my customer happy I can't help myself. So I need printer ink, and go to Staples, but they are closed. Micro center is right around the corner, so I go there. When I find the printer ink I am looking for, I notice that one of them has a price tag on it when the others do not. I checked the price listed on the rack and notice that the one I have is marked $10 less than what it should be. So I did what every hard working person would do, I take the one that was cheaper. I go to check out and sure enough there is $10 difference. So at this point I am thinking, well here is a person spending over $100 on this sale the company would just eat the $10, it is their mistake after all. I have been a long time loyal customer of Micro Center, but that is NOT the case anymore. On Mar 3, 2015, I went to the Micro Center store located in Duluth, Ga. to return an item that was mistakenly given to me when I picked up a web order. THIS WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE I HAVE MADE IN MY LIFE! Because of this mistake, I was left humiliated, threaten, and discriminated against. I have been doing business with Micro Center 2010, and last year alone I personally have given Micro Center over $80,000 in business. But judging by the visit I had during my last visit to the Duluth Micro Center store, they [Micro Center and their managers] DO NOT appreciate my business. While waiting at customer service to return this item that I mistakenly given, the store manager of the Duluth, Georgia location came out, said "Here is your 'Correct' item, now you have it, now GET THE HELL OUT OF MY STORE," all of this was yelled at me, in front of numerous customers and the entire front end staff. And continued to go on and say "I and all of my brothers are now banned from all Micro Center Stores, and if I or any of my brothers attempt to visit the other Micro Center Location [Marietta, GA. Location] we will be 'ARRESTED' and charged with trespassing." Again, all of this said out loud in front of numerous customers, and all staff. He then continued to say after I asked, Why? What is the problem?, that the reason is "excessive coupon use." and then continued to say "I hope all those coupons where worth it, because NOW YOU [referring to me, my brothers, and my business] are all BANNED..." I have never been so humiliated, belittled, and threaten in my life! And all for what? Because we used coupons? The proper way to notify me was to take me aside and calmly and respectfully explained the issue and what needed to happen to rectify the issue, but NOT bring this manner to the public forum and humiliating me in front of the entire store. All the purchases made with the coupons were approved by management at both locations, I submitted the orders through microcenter.com and picked everything up in their retail locations, where I paid for them upon pickup of these products. If there was an issue with using these coupons, then the store managers, should have NOT allowed me to pick up the product, instead they came over and did their usual and THANKED ME. And now, when I went back to return an item that was mistakenly given to me, I get, DO NOT COME BACK or YOU WILL BE ARRESTED? Where is the customer service in that? Where are the manners in that? Why am I being discriminated against? All that was done here was coupons were used to purchase product, which was picked up and paid for in person... where the management had ample opportunity to cancel or deny the product. But no such concern was expressed by any member of management at either the Duluth, GA or Marietta, GA location, or Micro Center Corporate office. It is also important to note that the coupons that were used were obtained through valid means, and the coupons itself did not have any fine type that prohibited the use of the coupon, either on dollar amount of the number of uses. Micro Center should have blocked these coupons on their website if they were such a problem, but NOT allowed [or maybe instructed] this manager to treat me in this manner. Why did not Micro Center block this coupon or put in place restrictions on its use? Why did Micro Center Corporate allow their store manager to slander my name in a public forum? Is this the practice of Micro Center to allow their members of management to humiliate and threaten their customers? Is doing business with Micro Center in the amount of over $80,000 not enough to gain respect? If I and my business matter to you [Micro Center] then please contact me and lets work this out, and come to a resolution so I can continue to do regular business with you [Micro Center]. read more

Do not buy any new laptops from here because they scam you by selling old as new. They basically repackages old laptop and sells it as new. I bought a lenovo ideapad from them which is marked as new in their webstore. Worst customer service in the world! I would never recommend anyone to build a computer here. We have had our computer for less than 7 months and it just would not power on. For them just to look at the computer there is a 7 day wait... Just to look at it! The 1700$ computer is not under warranty either. The guy at the service area was so rude I couldn't even believe it. I told the operations manager and he really did not seem too concerned with his employees lack of service and extreme attitude. I stood in line for 20 minutes only to be told that they were too busy to switch out a keyboard on my laptop and if I could bring it back in 4 days. Also, I would have to leave my laptop for 2-3 days. Are they kidding me? Also the customer in front of me was upset. She had an email with her saying her computer was ready but they told her sorry, that she must have gotten that by mistake and it would be ready later that day. I just had the worst experience at one of the Micro Center stores​. I placed an online order for a new Macbook Pro list price of $1679. Having done a significant amount of business with Micro Center in the past I decided to order online for pickup. When I arrived at the store I was rudely told by one of the managers at the customer service desk that there was no order for me in the system. After showing her the conformation email I received about my order being ready for pickup, she went to the back to search for it. A few minutes later she returns with a old and dirty looking Macbook Pro box and immediately informed her that I placed an order for a new computer and not an open box. She continued to be rude and open the box of the computer to tell me that it was not an open box that it was in fact a new computer, although there was not shrink wrap on the box indicating its newness. After she opened the box the computer charger was also missing. I was totally outraged this is now how business should be conducted. I continued to inquire to her, where the new machine that I had ordered was and she insisted that this old computer was the last of this particular Pro model they had. She called one of the other store employee form the Apple computers department. He turned out to be equally as rude and disrespectful as his collegue about my situation, and this locations lack of transparency. Only after I inquired if they could do anything else for me in regards to finding me a new computer did they offer to discounted the beat up open box by 10% and throw in a FREE charger! The unit was suppose to come with a charger. After more attitude from these employees I left the store without purchasing anything and I went to Best Buy were the customer service is always excellent I have been a long time customer of Micro Center, because I buy parts to build and repair computers, I find that I can no longer support such a mediocre company and one who disregards the notion of good customer service. I will not be shopping here anymore and I will tell all of my friends in IT to avoid this place as well. Your company should be ashamed of this behavior and complete apathy for integrity and respect. As a former Apple employee I hope that Apple will soon refuse to supply Micro Center with its products, because Micro Center will only disgrace the Apple creed and brand. read more

So, unfortunately, a pair of the TV capacitors that I purchased from the Marietta Micro Center would not fit in my TV. I, therefore, I had to return them. Since I had to go to Lawrenceville, I opted to return here rather than going back to Marietta. Luckily, this is not a problem for Micro Center. By far the friendlier and better version of bigger giants like best buy. The salesmen and saleswomen of this place know their electronics better than most of their counterparts in other stores. Prices are fair, items are fairly well stocked in quantity and variance (damn they don't have seasonic products unfortunately) and they are amazing on their warranty service. Which entitles you to store credit on a 1, 2, 3 year term when your item fails. 10/10 go out of your way to this particular store, I don't find the Marietta location as great as this one. Microcenter seems to have a good to great selection. What I do not like about shopping here is that you seem to get no attention until you're headed for the register. At which time someone suddenly walks up and wants to put that sticker on your item. Me and my fiance were in the store for 20 minutes looking at an item with not so much as a hello. As we decide and start to walk to the checkout an employee walks up, asks us what we have and says "oh those are great, let me do this for ya" and proceeds to put a sticker on the box, which I'm sure gets him some kind of credit for the sale even though he did nothing to help. I went in to buy some memory for a my older haswell pc. This location was nice enough to match a marked price, on a package that did not match the higher price of all the parts that were the same as it. It was more than they had to, or should of done. It really made my night, and my drive to get there. Looking back on it, I feel bad, and I wish I would have paid full price. The level of customer service I received was stellar, and they deserved better. They were also extremely helpful to a person who was there buying a motherboard cpu setup. I appreciated the detail they went into helping him out and was impressed. I overheard a large portion of the conversation, and it mirrored my first time building a computer as an adult. I also got advice from a microcenter like 8 years ago. I am pleased to see that employee quality has remained consistent. You should definitely give these guys a shot, and support your b/m stores. With internet shopping becoming so popular, the level of help you get at these stores is dropping. Supporting a store that still is willing to help people with advice is great. read more

My laptop was supposedly fixed after taking it to Microcenter. Got it home,and it was doing the same thing as when I took it in(blue screen error). They kept my laptop another 3 days (totaling 4) and when I got it home again today, it is doing the same thing. I also got some pretty rude customer service from one girl, but a few of the others were polite enough. Boils down to not satisfied. read more
