My family has been buying from Micro Center for years, it has been the best place for meeting all our needs especially when building our own PCs. My last experience was a bit disappointing in some areas though... The good: As mentioned, they have everything you could need. Definitely a go-to for PC supplies and parts. Cleanliness and COVID-19 protocols are on point at this store. Front end checkout staff was very friendly and professional. Finally, you can find a great deal here if you keep an eye out. A great deal on the last-gen iPad was what brought me here The bad: Customer service was hit and miss. While the front-end staff was great, the salesman [not] helping me was rude and condescending. He did not seem to want to help me and when I tried to ask questions his answers had a "What, you didn't know that?" tone and made me feel stupid. His tone only really changed when ringing up the sale. The iPad was a good price but I do regret giving him my money. Very disappointing as I previously had all very positive experiences with MC sales staff. After this experience, I'm done. I'll give Micro Center two stars, because they tend to have the best variety of computers and accessories than any brick and mortar store in the area. I can't rate it higher because every time I go into this store the sales staff ignores me. A few times I just left without buying what I needed because I was being ignored. But then they're quick to want to slap a sticker on your product to get a commission. People have bad days; I get it. But I have spend a few thousand dollars in this store and every single time, I'm treated like I'm bothering the sales staff or I'm altogether invisible. I waited to write this review. And even though the products are in great supply, I may need to look to spend my money with companies who know how to treat their customers. read more

I'M BACK!!! Woot! Just over a year ago I visited Micro Center for the first time and I've been itching to make another pilgrimage. I know it may seem odd that I'm so hyped up for this place, however when you live in a part of the country that no longer has true computer stores you'll have a better understanding of why I feel so happy when I come here. On this trip I was looking to pick up a some Raspberry Pi's. The newest Model 3 B+ and some couple of Zero W's and also look into some UPS and large external storage drive. Once again I wasn't disappointed at all. I found all of the Raspberry Pi's and accessories that I needed and was able to get some hands on with several different UPS as well. My nephew was with me as well and we spent a few minutes checking out the HTC VIVE 3D setup too. Very cool indeed. I swear if I didn't live 5.5 hours away I would probably be in this store every weekend. Maybe that's a good thing. Also last but not least, I want to say for the record that the staff I've encountered has been super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Class act all the way. You need to update your systems and allow for online tech support appointments. It says online you can drop off your computer and get it back usually same day or in 1-3 business days. When I got there, the guy told me they wouldn't even look at my computer for a week. But I couldn't just put in my name and bring it back either. Just had to let my computer sit there... Not sure why you'd do that when every BestBuy in the area had tons of Geek Squad appointments open every day. Don't waste your time driving here. read more

I had trouble installing a SSD, so I took it to MicroCenter to see if they could figure out what I couldn't. "$80" they said. I said that was fine, and they opened up my case and looked inside. "Uh, we can't install this, it doesn't have enough cables." I said "I know" because that's why I couldn't do it myself. They then said they could switch out the SSD for the HD, but that's a simple matter of swapping two cables. I said I would do it, if that's all they could do. Then they swapped the two cables and said "that'll be $80." I didn't fight them on it, because I did ask them to install the SSD. But they knew I could do it myself, and they ignored that fact and charged me $80 for less than a minute of work. Don't trust these snakes; learn to do it yourself on YouTube tutorials. read more

I took my laptop in for repairs here and found their service/repair center to be very well organized and professional. It could have been a potentially much more expensive issue, but during the diagnostics process they were pretty transparent and ended up saving me a lot of money as it was a minor fix! Also - this is like a massive toy store if you're a tech enthusiast/someone looking to build out a PC or just looking for components. They seemed to have a huge inventory of everything from liquid cooling to desktop cases and beyond. Cleaning protocols for covid seem excellent as well - cleaning the counter between customers. I've got no complaints from my experience and think this is a solid option for laptop/desktop repair work in the area. read more

I had drove to this store making it a 2 hour trip there and back, as we are on vacation, and don't live near a microcenter, with a couple people that had wanted to buy a couple parts to build a pc. A man there, Kyle walker, helped them out about the whole time we were there, he was very friendly, helped us buy a couple parts, building it around a part we had already bought previously from a different location. The next day, we made the same trip again, for a part we had bought from the different location was faulty, returned the part, and then Kyle helped us again, remembering our names and the parts we had bought, and helped us buy new parts to work with what we had. He's a great guy, very friendly, very welcoming and very kind, definitely deserves a raise !! Both trips were definitely worth it. read more

The St David's Microcenter is my first choice when it comes to hardware, it has a different focus than the Patterson NJ which admittedly has some really cool stuff you don't often see here like Custom water cooling loop equipment, but has more limited selections of other things such as TV's, monitors, laptops and especially 3D printing. Its a bit out of its way especially to call itself a "Philadelphia" location, but you can usually get fantastic deals at their brick and mortar locations that even Newegg cant compete with (For online purchases they'll always be king however) some examples? Few months back you could get an I7 7700K for $299 flat, lowest I've seen newegg offer them is around the $329 mark. Another thing you'll notice about this branch is they usually have 1-2 of the extremely high end items in stock. Most of which i couldn't find up in Patterson, like Corsair AX1500i power supplies, Asus Maximus Formula IX mobo's, Asus GTX 1080 TI OC editions so on and so forth. Almost my entire PC is built of parts from St David's, more of it, and the peripherals would be if it were any close...maybe someday. A guy can dream can't he. read more

This place is phenomenal! I went there to pick up some peripherals and get some other items picked out and was very impressed. The staff were very knowledgeable, and taught me what I needed to know about building my first ever computer. I have them my budget and VERY specific requirements (and constraints) for a system, and they were able to quickly configure a system that fit all my needs in just a few minutes. Each staff member and sales rep seems to know their stuff and will always notice of you need help or not, and offer to assist you on anything. As for inventory, they carry just about everything you might need, and the prices of their items are on par with those of major online retailers. We went to the Radnor, PA, store to see if they could fix our 9-year-old failed laptop. But the hard drive had worn out, so we needed a new laptop (not a surprise, we knew we'd have to replace it soon). Our technician and sales rep were efficient, patient and very helpful. We are happy with the new Dell we bought, and the tech loaded on our old files, new OS, Office programs, etc. They made it so easy. Nice buying experience. read more

I live 1.5 - 2 hours away in Harrisburg PA - I picked up a computer here on May 20th 2022 that advertised i7 -8core CPU AND a 2070 GPU. After driving 4 hours there and back i discovered they gave me a laptop that in fact had a 6core CPU and a 1660 GPU - both far inferior. I drove back another 2 hours (6 hours now) and when they took the computer back they apologized and then tried to upsell me on a laptop that cost 200 more and had the exact same 6 core CPU as the inferior version i received. They did not offer any form of reconciliation for the driving they made me do and the mistake they made. They tried to upsell me. I will never do business with Micro center again after this interaction which demonstrated a clear lack of empathy or personal accountability and complete lack of professionalism. I encourage anyone reading this to avoid this location and to question business at others. This brand is not as reputable as i formerly believed. read more

I bought a PS G439, didn't work, exchanged it, second didn't work. Asked the manager to make things right and basically they just said exchange it again, he was incredibly rude and callous. I was hoping to be compensated for my time and get a G441... I basically spent 14 hours over 4 days traveling and chatting with tech support and they were super unhelpful. Really unacceptable. People also were real rude when I didn't get the extended protection, now that I had two products not work it kind of makes sense read more

They actually stock low-cost options unlike certain stores where you cannot buy a USB cable unless it is literally gold plated, they run some incredible clearance deals, and the staff generally know what they're talking about. read more

Then I just kept going, and it turned out all the parts were available in the store, for less. So I placed the order and picked it up on my way home. When I picked it up, I was able to confirm with a store associate that all the parts should be compatible. He gave me his card. This came in handy when I had some trouble during the assembly. I've been having problems with my ASUS Laptop and I tried replacing the batteries twice. Shannon was excellent at troubleshooting and I realized that I did not have the battery plugged into the motherboard. Also needed to reseat the memory card. They have everything you can think of. 3-D printers, computer parts, TVs, PC and Apple products, video game stuff and way more than I can name here. Micro Center is a smaller computer store chain (smaller than CompUSA, even after the downsizing). They have a web site if you want to see their latest prices. The St. David's staff is friendly, and mostly helpful (obviously everyone can't be helpful, but they try). Micro Center also offers repair services, business services, and training classes. There's lots of square footage. Check out their extensive bookstore, and their robust Mac department; whenever I needed an odd piece of hardware, they often had it. It's easy to try lots of software and hardware in-house, and not just for Macs. Regarding clearance items (they have a lot peppered around the store), if you dig hard enough, you might score some interesting finds. Worth a visit if you need anything computer-related. read more

My boyfriend and I love Micro Center! It's his favorite store to shop at, and I love seeing him light up when we go there. Fun to shop at, huge selection. I love seeing choices laid out before me so I can get a feel of what I need. We are rebuilding his pc, finally building mine so we stop in frequently. The sweet woman that greets us and gives us sanitizer knows us now because we come so often. Workers are generally friendly, some seem to give off a very condescending attitude. I know the workers mean very well, but sometimes it makes me second guess my decisions. I do enjoy shopping here and always plan to come back. read more

I don't know why I've been wasting my time at the other Big Box competitor to get lackadaisical treatment when this store has been there all along and it provides fantastic service, it's stocked to the rafters, and has computer experts galore. I went in there after my trusty MacBook started having serious problems, and the Apple Store diagnosed it as a lack of RAM. Got in there and despite being extremely busy, I was in and out of the service section in an hour with upgraded RAM and a happy laptop. I say out of the service section, because I spent another hour browsing and blowing my budget throughout the store. Yes, it can seem overwhelming at first, but they have EVERYTHING. They are understanding about returns if something is defective, they point out rebates when available, and the prices are often better than online stores. I find it very hard to believe that there is no way to pay online or give payment information over the phone or through any other technological manner. The only way you can buy from these people is to go there and pay there. No wonder small business cannot survive today. I was ready to spend $1500 to buy my son's computer but they won't take my payment and I live two hours from them but my son who lives right there could pick up the computer however they won't accept any form of payment. Mediocre experience. Took a nearly 2 hour drive (4 total) to the store after working a 12 hour night shift in high hopes my experience would be stellar. This was a journey for building my first PC after picking out my parts the night before. I didn't know what to expect. They do have some great deals and SOME ways to save a lot of money. I found myself quite lost in a lot of the space because there's a bunch to look at. However, I didn't leave happy. There wasn't much attention towards my satisfaction of building the PC. I was under the notion I could learn a bunch of things about building my own PC. I even paid $200 for the experience of having it built. I can blame myself for not doing enough research beforehand about how their building process works. When I found out it was going to take several hours and there was no timeframe for when it would get built I got quite frustrated. I asked if I could even just build it myself while I was there but they wouldn't let me. The staff was however knowledgeable and somewhat friendly so that helped ease my frustration a bit. The prices there are quite high for certain things so make sure you try to find deals or see if they can price match certain parts online because they have some things hiked up extremely high for whatever reason. MicroCenter is an electronics store, not a rental store for TVs and dishwashers. I didn't want to wait for an XLR cable to be delivered. I didn't need anything special so I looked on their website, they have several different lengths at reasonable prices. They carry tons of cables and adaptors, HDMI, CAT5, coax, guitar speaker cables, sound/video/internet everything. I checked on their website under the clearance/open box area and it said they have two open box 6' cables that I needed. When I went to the store I found the item I needed immediately, but the open box cable was nowhere to be found. The employees must work on commission because they're all very eager to help. When one employee found me what I needed he put a sticker with a barcode on the item and it was scanned at the register, any clue what they make on commission? read more
