I brought my vehicle in for body work and left a "Happy Camper!" The staff here is wonderful! Everyone that I interacted with from the receptionist with her warm greeting, Jim Adams, Assistant Body Shop Manager, Don, the shuttle driver and the cashier were pleasant and very accommodating. Jim Adams even made arrangement for me to be dropped off and picked up while the work was being done. I got back and my vehicle was being pulled out of the shop (Talk about perfect timing!). After I did a walk around with Jim Adams and approved the job, I was given a complimentary car wash. When my vehicle was finished, it basically looked brand new. Disappointed it. I had my car repair there. The spot that repair was great, but they damaged my rear bumper. When I drop it car off the car the rear side and side bumper need to be done. They did fix it nice. When I pick up the car I noticed my rear end bumper was all scratch up and the paint is cracked & falling up, I noticed to them. They said when I drop it up, the bumper already scratch. I just bought this car around 2 month and I know there're NO scratch and paint peeling off. I'm 100% sure that scratch, paint cracked damaged while the car at the shop. NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.... read more

I used to love this body shop. We took a car in for hail damage since it was my favorite place. We had the estimate from the insurance company which we gave the adjuster. After looking it over we were told that the work would be completed in 2 weeks. Sounds a bit like "Money Pit" - the movie. Sure enough, 6 weeks later it was still being worked on and waiting for supplemental approval. When we picked up the car after it was "detailed," we noticed that the rear emblems were missing and a molding on a door had "Shop" damage. There were grease smudges on the interior headliner and other panels too. It took 3 more weeks for the emblems and we are still waiting on the molding - now going on 4 weeks for that. If I could rate FRANKEL less than 1 star, I would. My experience has been a disaster. I dropped off my car for repair on front bumper. Two weeks later I picked it up; at first glance everything looked good. Weather was cold and snowy so I did not take the car out much. Weeks later I noticed Frankel/Mid-Atlantic neglected to install one of the fog light shields. Back to Frankel where I was blamed for this omission. It was my fault I waited and how do they know I wasn't responsible for the shield "falling" out. Jim Adams argued with me for 30 minutes telling me it was probably something that I did because he inspected this car and he "would have noticed this missing." " After 30 minutes of arguing with Jim Adams and Don they finally agreed to replace the shield. This part is plastic and the cost is probably minimal. Frankel called and said the part was ready for install. Before I left, I noticed the bumper Frankel had repaired had popped out of place. I took it back and Don said they could pop it back in. However, upon inspection I noticed now the entire front bumper has a 1/8-1/4 gap and looks like it doesn't fit. It should fit snugly against the grill so you do not see the gap. Jim said everything looked fine. Well, I'm the owner and I'm saying it's not fine at all. It's shoddy work that I'm not used to. This is a $50,000 car and it should look like one. The paint on the driver side bumper along the rim is rough and is peppered with small bubbles. Jim said it would take a few minutes to fixt this. WELL, WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE FIXED. WHY DID IT HAPPEN AT ALL. At this point, I lost all trust in Frankel and went directly to the Lexus dealer for their opinion and inspection of Frankel's work. I wanted to know why the bumper popped out. Lexus Towson told me it's because it was an after market product and this one did not fit. Frankel should have done a better job at installation of the bumper. This bumper was not put in to last. FRANKEL should have gone back to my insurance company with complaints about the fit. FRANKEL didn't care that it didn't fit. Now FRANKEL tells me this is my responsibility. I have to reopen the claim. FRANKEL'S insurance adjuster said they will not credit the after market bumper because they disposed of the box. FRANKEL CADILLAC HUNT VALLEY. I am so disappointed by the way I have been treated. FRANKEL charged $2500 plus I'm told another $900 plus to fix what they are responsible for in the first place. Repairs on my bumper came out like new AND they detailed my car before I picked it up. Only problem I had is they replaced my entire headlamp and they ended up losing my after-market bulbs. More of an annoyance since the headlamp now looked nothing like the other when the lights were on, so I just had to order new ones. They did try to remedy the problem, but since they don't carry anything other than low-light halogens (understandably so), there really wasn't much they could do. Dealt with Dennis and he was very on top of my repair, emailing me every step of the way and was always happy to help. Would take my car back. read more

Terrible experience. My car had been vandalized, both side mirrors broken off and interior console ripped apart. I dropped car at Frankel with Geico on 2/6/2012 for two days of work, car still in shop 30-days later. It seems the mirrors were unavailable in the USA so they had to be ordered from germany. So I had to pick my car up yesterday 3/7/2012 because my rental period was exhausted and I found NONE of the work had been done and my old mirrors had been duct taped on. They said to bring it back when mirrors come in and they'll put them on. I can't drive my car because I have no visibilty in my driver side mirror, plus the police wlould give me ticket for having mirrors duct taped on. read more

I brought in my 2 month old Acura to have the insurance adjuster do the estimate. I informed the collision center that I would have to come back the following week because I needed my car for work. I came back the next day shortly after the adjuster had sent me the estimate. I put my belonging back in my Acura, which was sitting outside around the side of the building, but had not been worked on. I went in, told the receptionist that I was there to pick up my car and she said that I was supposed to leave it for them and that I had already given them consent to work on it. I explained to her that I told them that I needed it and they would have to wait. I asked for the key back and she made me wait around for a manager. I waited about 15 minutes and finally someone showed up and said "they started working on your car a few hours ago and the have it all apart back there." I asked to see the car immediately and started walking back to the repair area against his wishes because I knew they were lying (like I said, I had just put my water and work bag in the car 20 minutes earlier). When I got back there, the car had just been pulled in and the trunk was open and 4 bolt caps had been taken off. The guy working on the car even told me that he just pulled it in 2 minutes previous and didn't even have any bolts out. I was pissed from being lied to and then they had me talk to Doug, the main manager. Doug was not cooperative nor considerate. He basically told me that when I dropped the car off with them the day before, that gives them permission to start working on the car as soon as the estimate was done even though I wrote "call before working on car" on the consent. Then the lady at the front started lying. They refused to give me the keys back until I threatened to call Baltimore County Police. They gave me the keys back, but then sent me a bill for 1 hour labor plus 2 days of storage. Because I have purchased from Frankel new car dealerships in the past, the owner of Frankel did reimburse me for the fees, but this still put a bad taste in my mouth. It's one thing to argue, but it's another thing to lie and lie some more. Just shady. read more

The fixed my car after I was rear ended. They were fast, courteous, and did a great job. What more can you ask for?

After my car was hit and run overnight, I chose Frankel to repair my car merely on the fact that it was a preferred shop for my insurance company and they had the most flexible hours. I didn't know much about the shop beyond that and in the end was completely blown away by their customer service. I worked with a gentleman named Joe M., and on my first appointment for the estimate he already had all of the information from my insurance company. Joe was very genial and understanding, giving me a thorough overview of how my car would be fixed. He helped me set up an appointment to drop my car off for repairs the day after the estimate, and assured me that they would arrange everything with Enterprise for my rental car. When I arrived the next morning the car was called for me immediately and I didn't wait longer than thirty minutes after showing up. Joe stayed in touch with me the entire time that the car was in the shop, consistently leaving voicemails with updates and emailing any information he had. I am not very knowledgable about cars and throughout the whole process Joe and the woman working the front desk were very patient with me, answering all my questions about the car and the insurance process and giving me time to check in with my father before giving them answers. The car was finished in a week and when I went to pick it up I realized they had also detailed and washed the car, that was a great surprise! My entire experience with Frankel was completely enjoyable and stress-free, which is not often the case with car repairs. Joe even assured me that with my insurance, all of the work Frankel had done has a lifetime guarantee, probably one of the best assurances anyone could hope for. I have already told multiple friends about my wonderful experience and will definitely be returning to Frankel in the future due to their customer service and excellent repairs, plus the complimentary coffee and cappuccino machine doesn't hurt. read more

Was told repairs would take 3 weeks, it's been 3 months and the car is still not repaired correctly.

I was in need of some minor repair work in May of this year and since they are close to my home I was happy for the convenience. The drop off went fine and I felt that my car was in good hands. A day or so later I happened to mention the repair to a coworker and he told me he had a terrible experience with the customer service when his car was there. I decided it must have been an isolated incidence as things were fine for me thus far. Boy, was I wrong! The next day (my car had been with them for 4 days and this was my first call) I called to check on the progress. I had the misfortune to speak with someone named Connie and was told they were very busy and that I was not to call them I was to wait for THEM to call ME. I was shocked by how rude and aggressive she seemed but I did continue to ask for an estimate on when I could expect my car. She essentially told me that my car would be finished when it was finished. Having snapped out of my shock I asked to speak to the manager and was extremely disappointed when she advised me that she WAS the manager. While I have not purchased a car from Bob Frankel it is hard to live around here without being familiar with his name. His dealerships are up and down York Rd and he seems only to deal in high end automobiles. I would like to think that he would have a high standard for his employee's customer service skills since those purchasing luxury cars from him have a high standard in their vehicles. It would seem that I was wrong in that assumption. When I asked Connie if Mr. Frankel was available I was told he was out of the country and she wasn't sure of a return date. A few days later we received the call that my car was ready for pick up. I sent my husband because at this point I no longer wanted to be bothered. The repair work seems fine but I will not return. I understand now what my coworker was saying. Any company that would allow anyone, much less a manager, to treat customers like that must have plenty of work and not looking for new customers. I would have expected more as most businesses in our area excel at customer relations. I would give zero stars but it requires at least one. read more

Would never take my vehicle there or advise anyone else to. I had taken my vehicle there to get repaired after a very minor collision (hood bent, fender scratched, grill damaged). I searched online for a reputable body shop and came across Franklin Mid Atlantic. They didn't have any reviews but after going through their web site I felt confident in the work (especially since they offer a limited lifetime warranty which they don't tell you is under manager decision) The body shop was quick to get me in and after a estimate I informed them that I had a aftermarket bumper clip at my house and if they wanted to just use the money (repair, paint, labor and materials) on the free part I would provide it and it wouldn't be any issue to me as long as they painted it and if they wanted more money to paint it I wouldn't mind spending the difference as long it was done correctly. They said they would do it and just use funds in the estimate to cover the paint since I provided the part. A few days later I received it back. After examining the repaired parts the fender had clear coat peeling off about a half dollar size and did a horrible job painting. The headlights were leaning down which come to find out were replaced with non OEM parts and it broke installation, There was overspray over my entire vehicle and they had the nerve to fight me on the fender acting like they could not see the dollar size amount of clear coat peeling. When looking at the rest of the vehicle the bumper had circles and waves and I could tell that they just did a scuff and paint job to try to make money on my generosity. They asked me to schedule another appointment and bring the car back and they would take care of it. On the next appointment when I got the car back again the fender had a smudge mark on it from one of their workers leaning on it, the lights were not replaced and the bumper was not touched. I was promised that they would fix everything and repaint the bumper that they don't know how it even made it out the shop to make another appointment to get it repainted. On the next visit I reminded them of the situation dropped off my car and a few days later came back. The fender was fixed but the bumper was not touched again. When I asked for them to redo the bumper I was told that it was done the best it could the first time and that it will not be redone. They stated that this was a volume shop and they cant keep bringing my car in here that they are losing money. I stated if they valued quality as much of volume I would have been out of the shop the first time. Not only did they not fix the original bumper they charged the insurance company for it, and did a horrible paint job and I provided the part to! Disgusted with the whole situation I ended up just taking my car and now have to go to another place to get it fixed. This is such a horrible place to go and in the beginning they are nice to you to bring you in but then you are nothing once the money exchanges hands. I am just writing this review in hopes that you will not make the same mistake and take your car here. For I really spent a lot of time looking for a quality shop and got results like this. If you are like me and value your car look elsewhere. If you are someone looking to get a quick fix and drive a car that you don't care to much about you still have a better option to take your car to Maaco then to let them touch your car. read more
