The snow crab legs had so much meat compared to other seafood restaurants I've been to. The snow crabs and shrimp weren't over cooked. They definitely know what they're doing there. Love at 1st bite. I ordered the fried catfish because you really can't go wrong with fried catfish. Except my last 3 visits left me nat wanting to return. My fish was super greasy and non flavorful. I did not want to return. But I was craving like crazy yesterday and today. So I decided to call my order in and tell them my issue.No luck I was on hold for 10 minutes yeasterday 5/20/21 and I called twice. Today I call several times about 6 out of anger because they answer the phone and immediately put you on hold not hearing your reply. Finally on about the 6tg call Eric answered and did not give two shots about me and my concerns. The call was focused on the hold issue rather than my concern which was the catfish I have been craving for 2 days. Anyway I asked or shall I say I screamed to Eric because he would not let me get a word in "LET ME SPEAK TO A MANAGER " .. guess what ... I got put on hold lol no one came back to the phone. Mid-Atlantic is like a one stop shop. If you have a taste for anything, this carry out has it. Pretty much everything I have gotten from here is good. I'm never disappointed until the other day. I ordered their crab cake quesadilla from their HH menu and that was a nah son. This was definitely a no for me. I will stick to everything else on their menu with the exception of this. I also ordered some oysters. These were the biggest oysters I have ever had, it was almost like they were genetically modified. Although I didn't get it this visit, their fried chicken is really good. Their cakes are also pretty moist and good. I told my boyfriend that I was craving soul food and typed it in yelp and this location came up. I read the reviews and all seemed great so we decided to give it a try. This place is huge and bright and clean! They have a little bar inside with happy hour deals from 4 to 7pm. Seems like they have their own drink specials as I saw advertisement for their jungle juice. Hahaha. I have to try it one day. It said it had 21 liquors in it which sounds like a recipe for disaster. Lol the car was packed and stayed packed through our ordering experience. The menu goes on and on with so many choices I wouldnt know how anyone leaves disappointed. WOW! Can we say CO..2 the MO...TOSE!! LOL!! A coworker and I jetted to this establishment today for lunch and I must say the food was on-point! There were so many selections to choose from. Soul Food (my fav), Baked items, veggies...and even a fresh seafood - grocery market. We both had ordered the Friday Special of Fried Catfish and Chicken Wings w/ two sides. Mind you, you must know this was for lunch!!! I still needed to get back to work and earn a paycheck! Each and ever bite was delicious....You would have thought that I was at my Grandmother's crib the way I smashed the fried chicken wings. Nothing was left across my desk except a bone collection and crumbs! In all, the main dish items were great. The fish crispy and the chicken "Hittin' n' Stickin!" The sides, on the other hand, need to go back to damn lab! I had collards and black eye peas! Both, were bland and lacked seasoning. They took the easy way out on these items. My guess would be that their customer base and taste may vary from those that are salt sensitive, diabetic, and/or have restrictive diets! One thing I can say is that they do not use MSG....because I did not experience a headache after eating the meal. What I do know is that I have a severe case of the "--Itis!" Straight up, I wasn't expecting much (no offense to Laurel, but it isn't exactly known as a culinary Mecca), however, Mid-Atlantic Seafood is truly the pearl in the oyster of Laurel's casual dining establishments. It has a diner feel, and is large, clean, bright and airy. The workers at the counter were patient and helpful while we took more time than we should have to make our selections for dinner (Tip: Before you get in line, spend some time looking at the menu and the HUGE selection of side dishes displayed at the front counter so that you're not overwhelmed when it's time to order). We ended up ordering off the nightly "Specials" menu- I had the Sautéed Garlic Shrimp with Vegetables over rice and my friend had the Baked Salmon. Both styrofoam containers were stuffed full, and my past experience with styrofoam containers has been that they are *usually* stuffed full of mediocre food (quantity over quality), but Mid-Atlantic Seafood broke that assumption into a million pieces! THE FOOD WAS AWESOME! I know that awesome isn't very descriptive, but IT JUST WAS...the shrimp were tender, the veggies were crisp, and my friend's salmon tasted like it had just wiggled out of a Bear's mouth and onto the broiler...everything was fresh, wonderfully prepared/seasoned and very well-priced. Speaking of well-priced, because the restaurant shares a wall with a liquor store (they may even have the same owner) they are able to fill almost any beer/wine request you might have, and (much to the delight of me and my friend) the drinks were value-priced and generously poured by one extremely friendly and attentive bartender...I wish I had gotten his name for a personal shout-out...and I really hope he's there the next time we go. :-) My only regret was not saving room for dessert (their dessert case is STUFFED with thick slabs of various fresh cakes and pies), but I plan on going back as soon as I can button my jeans again, and THIS TIME I'll order the dessert first. :-) read more

A close friend of mine took me here and I am so thankful that she did! We first got their oysters, which we loved so much because they tasted very fresh and bigger than what we expected. Then after, we got the teriyaki baked salmon, and omg, that sauce was out of this world! We got the fried tilapia, shrimp and fish taco, snow crab legs and shrimps with sides of hush puppies (probably my favorite), lo mein, fried rice, mixed kale, mac and cheese and the teriyaki string beans and mushrooms (also my favorite). The seafoods were cooked perfectly! Sides were not bland like other sides from other restaurants And btw, the portion of the meals were larger than what we expected! The food is delicious and I spent 18 bucks thinking oh this will be normal portions... NO. I ordered the number 12 which is 3 pieces of whiting, 6 shrimp and 2 sides. My friends and I ordered fried whiting/shrimp, seafood combo, pork chop and grouper entrees as well as shrimp salad, lo mein , Mac and cheese sides. Everyone enjoyed the food, it was hot and fresh and portions are HUGE. Everyone had enough for two meals and the prices are reasonable. This place used to be a Sunny's surplus store. I would always drive by this place and see the parking lot full. After a coworker told me they have a really good happy hour I decided to give this place a try and I'm glad I did. Upon walking in I noticed one side was a liquor store and the other side was a restaurant/bar/store which was pretty cool. The bar is extremely small, however the drink prices were so good by time you're done the person you're sitting beside will probably be your friend anyway lol. Not pictured, I ordered the shrimp basket which was pretty good but the shrimp weren't deveined which was a major turnoff. Overall cool place to go have a few drinks. I spent $125 Plus on May 12th at for food and drinks when I ordered at the bar I ordered absolute and cranberry juice when I get my check I will serve Wheatley vodka and cranberry juice. I called the manager to explain to him what had happened and he said to me very arrogantly you got vodka so be careful when you go and order at those bars you get what you pay for don't accept anything and always ask for your receipt they serve you one thing and charge you for another at that bar and I don't think it's fair so you get what you pay for check your receipt and make sure that you are getting what you're paying for and I think the manager was very arrogant about it whether it was right or wrong he's supposed to be there for the customer so people will continue to come back. Cornbread: Soft, sweet, and airy. Very good cornbread. Atmosphere: You are in one big open room with food, lights, people, and tables. There is A LOT going on, might be overwhelming. Workers: They are trying to get you in and out as soon as possible. Friendly folks, no issue here. Note: If you come on a Friday/Saturday Night, expect a long wait in LINE and for your food to be cooked. So carve out about an hour before you walk in and take your first bite. I was in the area on a business trip, and decided that I needed some Maryland seafood. My coworkers recommended Mid-Atlantic Seafood, and I'm so glad they did! The restaurant has a large selection, including a steam table of vegetables. I ordered a meal (#21, I think) that included shrimp, fish, a crab cake and two side dishes. Everything was hot and delicious. The next time I'm in the area, I'll be back!! Side Note: I accidentally left my laptop at the restaurant, and the kind manager and staff packaged and shipped it to my home. Great people!Many thanks!! Tonight I ordered carryout snow crab legs. Paid $18.99 for a pound. When I got home and saw food scale on counter I thought WTH. Let's see if it's really a pound? My crab legs weighed in at .672 lbs. Before posting this review I tried calling the location several times. No one picked up and mailbox was full. Maybe there's reduction in weight from cooking but over 30% seems excessive to me. This place is so unassuming. No need to get dressed up but the meal will certainly fancy your tastebuds. It's like a cafeteria style spot. You stand in line to place your order. The menu is endless. I got the grouper dinner, my son a fish and chicken combo, my husband got smothered pork chops (he's smacking as I type) and my daughter chicken. Our grand total $50. You can't beat that! I selected brussel sprouts and kale for my sides. While the grouper was delicious, the veggies were the stars (I'm a vegetarian most of the time, so forgive me). Where black people and Spanish people come together! The next best thing after sliced bread. I truly enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was so chill. I came after church around 1:45 and the crowd wasn't too bad. I got in line and ordered right away I got a seafood combination tray: 3 butterfly shrimp, 1 crab cake, and 1 piece of fish. It's a fried dish and it was delicious. The shrimp were perfect and the crab cake was equal cake and crab meat and seasoned very nicely. It tasted grate with mumbo sauce which the offer at the condiment bar along with hot sauce, cocktail sauce, tarter sauce and ketchup. The fish was fried in a delicious batter as well and wasn't extremely greasy which I appreciated. Pay extra and get the cornbread. It's good and taste like a soft cake. Get the tea it's sweet and delicious and for these parts that's hard to come by when you come from down south. I would make this as a place to write home about because I will be offering this up as a go to place when friends come into town. I believe they will be impressed. I am not sure why the ratings are high. I visited this place twice, thinking that the first bad experience was just a fluke, but the second experience was just as disappointing. The line was long the first time. I ordered a fried fish and shrimp combo. The wait for pick up was even longer about 30 minutes. My food arrived in a styrofoam container, as did everyone else's. I wish they would switch to compostable containers. It was evident that my food had been sitting in the container for some time. The fried fish was soggy and lukewarm and a bit rubbery. The batter had little or no seasoning. It really needed that tartar sauce. The order with tax was over $15. I went at 2pm the 2ndctime to miss the rush hour. I ordered the $50 three-pound snow crab leg special. My food also took almost half an hour to arrive. It was also just lukewarm. They added old bay spice on the snow crab legs, which made them overly salty. I've never been served snow crab legs with old bay. They should have asked me if I wanted old bay on my order. Food here is not cheap, the quality is disappointing, and the service is very slow. I won't go back. read more

This place is so good first time ever stopping here. I got the stuffed flounder and crabs cakes. Both were extremely fresh, I couldn't stop eating it to take a picture maybe next time.
