I paid to have my rotors and brake pads changed. I paid $1000. The first time they were squeaking after a few weeks. The second time they squeaked again. The third time they were wobbling. Each time I went back they told me it was defective materials and they supposedly put new ones on. I finally got someone to change my brakes and they told me the original rotors were still on my car. I have a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe and the rotors had never been changed. They still said Hyundai. So this means that not only did they NOT give me new rotors the first time I went. Even after I went back twice, they never corrected it. So in my eyes, they cheated me three times. Clearly I didn't know what the heck I was doing. I saw rust on the rotors at one point but again just thought it was "defective" as they had said. This was the first time I'd not gone to the dealer to get my car fixed. Not only that, when I finally got the brakes done properly by someone else, they said they had zip tied the connector to the e-brake. Again I have no idea what that means but they broke something and then zip tied it back together. So I have to get a new connector. Bottom line, they charged me $1000, only changed the pads, didn't correct the issue even after I brought the car back two more times with problems, AND the broke the connector to my e-brake. This is the worst experience I've ever had. I can't rate this place low enough. read more

I wanted to give a shout out to this location. I took my car in for brakes. Anticipated a $1k bill with 43k miles. I would need brakes. Had Uber take me to the office. Not 30 minutes later they called and said I wouldn't need brakes for at least a year because of the type of driver I am. Now who does that today. Had a rapidly deflating tire on the highway with our toddlers in the car. We were watching as the air pressure monitor was declining every second. Luckily there was a dealership off the highway so we drove there. I thought we were in for a rough ride after realizing the dealership was closed. Midas was the only tire shop open within 3 miles open on a Saturday. My husband changed the flat out for the spare and we drove over. They took the tire right away and patched the hole. I walked the girls over to grab some lunch at Wendy's and when I returned it was done and my husband said they didn't even charge us! Thank you! read more

The staff definitely tried to take advantage of the fact that I'm a young woman with a supposedly limited knowledge of cars. They told me my brake pads were razor thin and that I should replace them with them--to the tune of $200+. I declined but they kept pressing me. I declined and left. Two months later, I went to my trusted mechanic and asked about my brake pads. He said I had months left on them. The staff at Midas also told me I had the wrong appointment time but that they could take me early. I checked my appointment confirmation email and I was in fact there on time. I do not appreciate being lied to or being accused as a liar. If only young women could get reliable service at the big-chain mechanics. Until then, I'll stick with my trusted small-town mechanic who isn't sexist. I will never go back to this Midas or any Midas. read more

I love this Midas - they always take care of me very promptly. The serivce is nice and they are down to earth people. They have no problem explaining to you what's going on with your auto. They also will tell you up front how long you will have to wait for your work to be done. There is a TV and magazines in the lobby and even WIFI - so at least you are gtg there. There is also a McDonalds and a Starbucks in walking distance. Life is good! read more

Safety & Fraud Alert. *I have allot of history with this location, so I'll begin at the beginning. Before my first major problem with them I was going to Midas for regular Oil Changes. Never had an issue, until I bought a Volvo and had brought it to them for an Oil Change and Tire Rotation. Everything seemed fine, till 5 days later while driving 70mph on Rte 97 South and my Driver side tire falls off causing me to spin around and coming to rest on the shoulder. Luckily no one was Hurt or Killed. But when I brought this up to Midas their response was that their was absolutely positively no way they could have been responsible. So the $2,500 my isuranance had to cover, and the $1,000 deductible and higher rates I had to cover. *After I had Steered clear of them for years (excuse the pun) I heard they were under new management, and my new office was within walking distance. So I decided to give the a try with Oil Changes on my Truck. I had used them for oil changes for about a year. I had a Knock Sensor that needed to be replaced ($1,000.....Which I found out later was too High) During the repair a "Senior Mechanic" and former Branch Manger, Instructed me after showing me a hand full of dirty oil, says my engine need a intake cleaning. Stating, since it was an older vehicle it was necessary and typical, what he didn't know was that since I've had the vehicle I put a can of SeaFoam in every other Full Tank. But, I figured he knew better than me. So I had that done a month or two later. After looking at videos and what he told me about how much black smoke comes out I decided to watch the entire process from the Lobby. And wouldn't you know, the exhaust never changed one bit! How weird, Shows me a hand full of black oil, but it is completely clean coming out. When I called him out on it, I said wheres the black smoke? He just said it was weird and that was that. Ok, I let that one go with another $150 wasted on the Midas Experts. *Just after that I needed my Sway Bar, Links, & Bushings replaced....Which I was ready to do myself but it was getting into the winter and I'm a wuss when working in the cold. So They just charged me ($200) for the Labor which I thought was Fair. A couple months later I hear this smacking noise under my truck, fearing something else needed replaced I started to inspect everything that was original and nothing was wrong. Went back and looked at the new repairs, and what do you know.... The Sway Bar mount has completely come off! Never have I heard this happening. When I looked closer, they destroyed the Bushings from Over tightening. None of the Bolts have Lock-Tite put on any threads of the Bolts (Lock-Tite is a glue to keep the bolts from backing out, All Shops put this on for safety). Right after Christmas I had my Oil Changed and Tires Rotated, then a couple months later I'm hearing a rattling on my passenger side. So I brought it to the MIDAS EXPERTS again, and asked them to check my rear brakes, they said it wasn't the brakes and it was a Lug Nut that had fallen off and stuck in the Hub. They said no Charge, and as a Thank you....I came back with 2 bags of Fresh Bagels and Donuts and O.J. After all this I feel like a complete FOOL, oh sure let me go buy you donuts for screwing up my day, my vehicle, and my plans. I can't even tally up the Cost of what I've incurred due to this establishment. The Initial Investments, the repair to those, the time I've had to take off, the hike in insurance rates due to the accident, the stress, the personal humiliation. After speaking with multiple Managers, Owners, and Representatives.....the only thing they can offer is minimizing the issues and redirecting any responsibility to anything they can. This establishment has absolutely No Pride in their work or for themselves, they come to work for a paycheck and nothing more. The Most Dangerous and potentially Deadly thing ANYONE does, is Drive a Vehicle...... would you Trust your LIFE with Midas? read more

The two gentlemen were having a conversation as I walked up and no one greeted me or cared to say " ma'am I will be with you momentarily" about 5 mins later one of the guy finally greeted me. read more

Within 24 hours, my car's exhaust noise went from "a bit louder than usual" to "uh-oh" to "omg the world is ending". I chose this location because they're close to my office & said they could take my car in mid-afternoon. (I just started this job & didn't want to take time off yet.) I was dreading the prospect of a massive expensive repair, or worse, a diagnosis that sounded shady. The muffler sounded like it was about to fall off, so shopping around wasn't an attractive option. Imagine my relief when they said only the muffler & small gasket needed replacement. The price was also within the general estimate I'd gotten online. I called several hours ahead for a tire replacement and was assured they had my tire and could replace it same day. I get in there and have to wait for 15 minutes for the guy to make 3 phone calls confirming he could get my tire that day. I am told that my tire will be done within the hour, no sweat. I get back to work and am immediately called back saying that they have the tire, but can't replace my tire. Would not go back. It was also going to cost $200 for ONE tire, when I can get them much cheaper elsewhere. read more

Extremely pleased. I'm a strong believer of first impressions. The shop is well organized, great customer service right when you walk in. After talking to the associate about my car and the issues I was having I felt comfortable having the repairs done here. Turn around time was fast! And prices are reasonable. Prior to choosing this shop I had looked around at other shops in the area but unfortunately was disappointed and less than impressed. I'm glad I kept looking and found this Midas on 'west st' will keep using this shop as long as we live in Annapolis. read more

Each time I come here I get consistently GREAT and FAIR service. I keep coming back because I know that they won't try to oversell me or fleece me for something I don't need. Just this past weekend, I got a flat tire and wasn't sure if it could be patched since I couldn't find a hole. They said to bring it in and they would check for free and let me know if it could or not and whether I'd need a new tire. Well they not only checked it but went ahead and patched it FREE OF CHARGE! I wasn't expecting that but I was mighty pleased b/c everytime I come here they exceed my expectations. Twice before I came in for what I thought would be costly repairs and they were totally HONEST and let me know that it didn't quite warrant that level of repair that I thought. Usual it seems you drive in with end of tail pipe falling off and you drive out with all new exhaust ..2003 Honda Element EX 80,000 miles in excellent shape ..original exhaust ,rear tailpipe rusted off muffler..While on hoist looked at vehicle could see two mufflers on edge of going no holes yet rusted out joint at converter heat shield off years ago ..So temp weld n fix quoted at $300. who knows how long will last ? Replacement of all exhaust from converter back 1st quote $1200. Do your homework buying exhaust is like buying used car...you need to negotiate..Went in with diagram and online price for reference..Muffler only online $317.05 Midas quote $417. * 70 labor *$550. Eventually after some further pricing they were able to supply entire exhaust from converter back for $534. 273 labor ..Dont forget to bring your online coupons as well ...Final price paid $798. Service is prompt parts in stock job done within 2 hrs..Waited there pleasant waiting room with Keurig coffee. As with any auto place you need to know your stuff before going into the place ...I have had to return 3x on my Dodge Van as the replacement Midas muffler rusted out in 3 yrs ...Luckily the muffle only was covered under warranty..I still had to pay the labor charges. I have had 3 vehicles exhaust systems replaced at this location over the last 5 yrs ..I would recommend speak with Chris or Rick ..They have years of experience in the business.... read more
