Extremely Poor Service Experience - Appointment Mismanagement and Unresolved Issues I am writing to share my very disappointing experience with Mr. Tire. I scheduled an appointment for Thursday, April 9th at 5:30 PM with the following primary concerns: Low tire pressure warning (suspected leak or faulty sensor) Replacement of rear trunk struts and hood struts These were the main reasons for my visit. I also agreed to an oil change since I was already at the shop. What happened: Upon arrival, I was informed that the technician capable of replacing struts was not available. I clearly stated that struts and tire pressure issue were my priorities, so the appointment was rescheduled to Friday, April 10th at 1:00 PM. When I arrived the next day: * Only one technician was present in the shop * After waiting 40 minutes, my car had not been touched * The receptionist confirmed they were understaffed but could not explain why a scheduled appointment was accepted under those conditions I eventually left, and I was told I would be contacted when the car was ready. No one ever called My repeated phone calls went unanswered I had to take an Uber to the shop before closing, only to be told: My car was still not ready I would not be able to take it home that night The situation continued: Saturday- still not ready Sunday - I finally retrieved the vehicle Final result: * I was without transportation for 3 days * I incurred additional Uber expenses * I paid approximately $2,000 * Both primary issues were NOT resolved: * Low tire pressure warning still on * Rear trunk struts were not replaced (I later purchased them myself on Amazon and received them the next day) Conclusion: This was a complete failure in scheduling, communication, and service execution: * Accepting appointments without adequate staffing * Lack of transparency * No communication or follow-up * Failure to address the customer's primary concerns This experience was unacceptable and highly unprofessional. read more

Awful. We bought four new tires for my car. The next day, one was flat. I paid for a tow and they replaced the tire. I was told this would be reimbursed and it has not been 3 months later. Then, that tire began to lose air along w 2 others. Had to go back and they kept my car for 3 days, which with 4 children is very disruptive. They replaced the tires. THEN, two of those tires had issues so they replaced the worse one and told us they checked it and it was installed properly so we would be safe to drive to OBX and back. We did not realize our tire was MELTING FROM THE INSIDE on the way down until we got into the car to go home and noticed the huge buldge. We had to get a new tire at the OBX and pay for an extra night and day at our rental along w food deliveries. Our car would have crashed on the highway had that tire popped in the 5 hour drive down. Monro, the parent company, took 3 months to get back to me. I sent all of the documentation, a letter describing everything, all of my receipts, everything. It took me 3 months to get someone to call me back. Once they called me back, they informed me that only two of our expenses would be reimbursed. They put our family in danger time and time again, yet, are not going to reimburse us for the expenses they created for us. Do not go to Mr. Tire. Bottom line: If I had to do it over, I would have just gotten the immediate issue addressed and not opted for the tune-up. I stopped by when the check engine light came on. Good: * They diagnosed the oxygen sensor issue. * They completed the work the same day. * There's no indication of rudeness or outright refusal to help. Bad: * Lack of clarity about what the "tune-up" included. * Discrepancies between verbal estimate and final invoice. * High price for tune-up * Basic service expectations (like fluid checks, oil change) not met. * Extended non-business conversation while customers were waiting. * No one at the desk during follow-up visit. read more

Unprofessional Rule# 1: Don't open the store an hour later than posted after telling a customer to show up an hour earlier. I called for service last Friday to be scheduled for today, Wednesday, March 4, 2026. I spoke with one of the representatives the day before, and was instructed that I could drop my car off at 7:30 when they opened. This morning I showed up at 7:15 am. Another gentleman pulled in and waited at the door. He said they opened at 7:30. At 7:31, I decided to drop my key in the overnight box and head home with the assistance of my wife and her vehicle. Once I returned home, I called the shop several times before I asked to use my wife's car to see if they were open. They weren't, and it was past 8:30. I told my wife I'm going to return to pick up my car. When we arrived again at the shop, it was 8:50-and to our surprise--it was open. I asked the representative to get my key out of the box. When he did so, he acknowledged he was just calling me. I told him it was too late and left. If you tell me to show up at 7:30 and you don't arrive until an hour after the store opens, I can't trust you or your work. Extremely unprofessional. I won't be going back. read more

My Need: 4 new tires for my car Black Friday Specials: Bait & Switch. Only had offers on a printout not what their own website stated which is what got me to schedule appointment in 1st place. Online Appt: Only carry TWO brands at store otherwise they can order for next day install. Why even schedule online. CALL first! Confirm specials, order tires for next day. Schedule appointment via phone for next day Timing: 1.5 hours to tell me of my need for 2 stems after already changing 2 tires out. Was trapped. Rock & a hard place. Another 2 hours to complete because they had to order stems. Also charged me $43 for one luggage nut. Had to order as well. Asked to see new stems and was denied. Suggest they notify a problem immediately before taking any tires off rim. Negligence: While driving home my tires seemed a lil tight/off. Checked pressure and saw that all 4 new tires inflated to 40 psi. My car, 30 front / 29 back manufacturer recommended on inside driver door as every car has. Reply from store "tires tech must have made a mistake" Tire Tech should know about proper inflation correct? Front Desk: Although Mark was friendly and personable, he's only as good as the tools around him and unfortunately he doesn't have them. read more

Was due for an oil change and after a very poor experience at the Mr.Tire a few miles away in Edgewater (I loved them prior but my last time getting service their it was different employees and service the same- got an oil change and left with no oil replaced in the car!!! ) I had used a different mechanic since for maintenance/work . As life would have it , I ended up getting a screw in my tire last night prompting a more urgent need for a mechanic. My fiancé had just had a tire replaced at this Annapolis location and was raving about the customer service. I reluctantly decided to give "Mr.Tire" another chance and I am very glad I did. This location not only got the work done quickly, but Tyler was honest and had genuine customer support. I didn't feel like I was being "scammed" into excess work when he called to let me know about recommendations. I'd also like to point out that I had made the appt reservation just the night beforehand and they still managed to accomplish everything I needed. Keep the bad reviews coming. Went to have a tire plugged that was slowly leaking air maybe one psi per week. They told me they do not plug tires and only patch them because they hold up better. OK whatever, fine. I told them to go ahead and do it. When I got the bill it came to 59.99!!!! When I asked the sales associate why it was so expensive he told me that's what they're going for which is a complete lie. Should have been 30 $35 at the most. read more

I bought my 4th set of tires from the Dynamic Duo, at Mr Tire on Defense Highway, in Annapolis today. Ramona is a RockStar and consistently goes the extra mile for her customers. Ron is wildly experienced, as well. Kevin was helping today 06.08.2022 from the Edgewater store, and he helped me extensively with an Emissions Waiver, though I was only visiting, to buy tires today. (!). We recently priced tires from SAMs and from BJ's, locally. When I called for a flat tire fix, BOTH Wholesale Stores were 10 to 14 days out, just to fix a flat. I stopped by this Mr Tire Store #769 in May (without an Appointment!). Ramona had us out of here in 20 minutes, flat all fixed! I would give this whole establishment 0 stars if I could. So my alternator dies in November, I get it towed to Mr tire and have them fix it. Prior to the tow I called for an estimate. I was told one number than after the repairs was told another and had to correct them. I then drive the car and a new knocking noise can be heard from the engine. JOHN the manager, says it could be a transmission issue and not to bring it back. So I get it fixed at another mechanic and what do you know? ALTERNATOR WAS PUT IN WRONG, BOLT BROKE OFF INSIDE MY ENGINE AND MORE. $200 later I paid for a temporary fix on the alternator just so I could drive. I contacted Mr tire again and relayed the message. They told me that I have a warranty on the part and I should have just come back to get it fixed for free. So I make a new appointment with RAMONA in December. Prior to the appointment and even after the appointment I asked NUMEROUS times to speak with a manager and to this day haven't heard from either one of them. I get to my appointment and was standing outside for 20 minutes (while I was working mind you) waiting for someone to come open the shop for my appointment time which was at 9am. I get the alternator fixed and asked about a refund which everyone was trying to avoid. I end up calling corporate on January 2nd. I spoke with MICHELLE, LIZZ, and THERESA. The first time I spoke with MICHELLE who was completely ignorant, disrespectful, and quite intimidating. Making me feel wrong or crazy for asking for my money back. She said she would give me a call back (called at 10:30am called her back by 4:30 pm bc they closed at 5)... She never told me I would have to wait 7-14 business days for a check all they told me was that a check was being processed. So flash forward to today January 18th, and still no check. I have spoke to ALL 3 ladies today, and got hung up on by MICHELLE. Fortunately the only pleasant person I've had the pleasure of speaking to was LIZZ. She told me it would be 7-14 business days til I received the check. I asked to please speak to a supervisor where I got transferred to the nasty customer service supervisor I've ever spoke to. I simply asked about how long it would take for my check because I have heard 7-14 business days then when I spoke with THERESA she told me 7-10 business days. When I asked her which one is it she told me repeatedly "we have no control over the post office" sounding snarky and rude with 0 remorse for the situation what's so ever. I told her "I understand you have no control over the post office and that isn't what I'm asking, you said 7-10 days and other people have said 7-14 so which one is it?" Eventually she gave up and literally said "idk that's what they tell us to say, call your post office". She got tired of me asking the same question because THE TRUTH IS SHE DOESNT KNOW. I personally work in customer service and it amazes me how she holds a supervisor position with that attitude and mind set towards paying customers. And of course she hung up on me. Again, this all started in NOVEMBER OF 2023. Mind you- when I asked to be transferred to someone else THERESA refused to give me her last name and said she was the only THERESA that worked in that building. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST INTERACTION IVE EVER HAD WITH A MECHANIC LET ALONE MR TIRE!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE. And if you have to call corporate GOOD LUCK! The only one with respect is Ms. LIZZ, and I genuinely hope if she see's this that she knows she is awesome and SHE SHOULD REPLACE THE SUPERVISOR!!! MR TIRE. GET. IT. TOGETHER! read more

Went somewhere else and turns out the tire couldn't be patched so I bought a new set spending over $1,000, could have been their sale if she had just taken the time to problem solve. I had one rear tire with a slow leak on my 2019 Mazda that has 25,000 miles on it. So I decided to replace both rear tires. My husband researched online and it was hard to find a local outlet that had the Falkien tires in stock. So we ended up ordering on Amazon. It sounded like a good plan. You pay for the tires and then they are delivered to a local store of your choice, and you also pay an installation fee through Amazon. Well, even though I allowed two extra days before the appointment after the tires were promised for delivery, the tires did not arrive on time, so I lost my appointment. The two people working the front desk and the phones at Mr. Tire were named Ron and Ramona. They try their best to provide good customer service, but they are extremely busy there. When Amazon said my tires had been delivered and in fact they had not, Ron called down the street and found they had been delivered to NTSB by the UPS driver instead. So the whole delivery deal was a comedy of errors, but it was not their fault. I went in Monday (instead of Friday) and got the tires put on. I waited in the waiting room there. The Amazon billing system was also difficult for them to decipher. But Mr. Tire got the job done for me even though I learned my lesson to never buy tires through Amazon. read more

Beware! Not sure what's going on because this place had relatively good review last time I checked. Long story short, I brought my car in during holiday seasons 2018/2019 to get my Pirelli tire replaced. The tire was under warranty as the car/tire was brand new. Everything seemed smooth from getting the tire in and having it installed. The main guy (forgot his name) running the place seemed to know what he was doing. We paid the tire and everything and assumed we'd get a head back once the reimbursement is made by Pirelli. A couple months later, we didn't hear back about the tire reimbursement. My husband called Mr. Tire and spoke with a woman who's dealing with the case for us and she said she never hear back from Pirelli. That was back in Feb/March. So we waited, and today, my husband called again and was told by the same woman that she didn't hear back from Pirelli. Now this is taking too long. My husband ended up calling Pirelli and ONLY TO FIND OUT PIRELLI HAD ALREADY PAID MR. TIRE OUR REIMBURSEMENT BACK IN MARCH. Question is, where is the money that we paid and are now reimbursed? As of right now, we talked to Mr Tire corporate (owned by Monroe Mufflers) and all the info we receive from Pirelli is handed to them and we'll have the corporate handle it for now. read more

They damaged my brand new truck wheel and bought me an aftermarket wheel and the lugs didn't even fit. I returned the wheel asking for them to make things right. Then the Market Manager MARK HAMNER said to call customer service because there was nothing he was going to do about it. Called customer service and they had no idea what I was talking about and when I explained my situation they said they weren't authorized to help with this kind of issue. So if you have a vehicle you value I wouldn't take it to this place. I'm ok with mistakes but what I'm not ok with is bad customer service. I will never use another Mr. Tire. My husband took our navigator in for tire service. We had noticed a bubble and wanted it checked. As it turned out, we needed a new tire. We could not have asked for more, The tire was ordered and several hours later, he returned to have the new tire placed and balanced. What made it even better was Ramona Brown. She went above and beyond to get the new tire and replaced in one day. Her total attitude was simply, satisfy the customer. She cared, and was very professional. Unexpectedly I backed into the curb like a jerk and it punctured my tire. It was 6:30pm and I was on a hunt for a place that would change all four of my tires the same night. I have a SUV and it's 'recommended.' (Not by this location specifically, and weather that's true or not is a different story.) I called Pep Boys who told me to drop it off. Which I don't have time for. And all other locations in Annapolis closed at 7, so I knew they weren't an option. I called and spoke with the gentleman at Mr. Tire and explained the situation. He asked what kind of car, what size tires, etc... he stated he had them in stock and if I could get there in the next 10-15 minutes he could do it tonight. I arrived by 7:15, picked my tires and even had them do an oil change and I was out by 8 or so. Great customer service from everyone I experienced at this location. read more

A couple weeks ago I wrote a review about Mr. Tire's service, I went there for tire rotation and oil change and they did not rotate my tires ( I marked my tires because they had done this before, anyway this morning I heard a noise coming from the front and thought once before they did not tighten the lug nuts, well they did not tighten the front passenger side. Last time it was driver side. If you use them I'd check to make sure they do what you payed them to do. I will not use them again and told my kids not to either. I had routine maintenance done today on my 2017 Camry by Store #0788 in California, MD. I was assisted by Bobby who acted in a very professional manner. In fact, he spent a great deal of time assisting me with the Drive Card folks when we could not get my credit card to process. I feel he went above and beyond by making the phone calls (not once, but twice!) to them, as well as completing information online for me. It was frustrating, but he remained calm and professional the entire time. Unfortunately, an incident occurred earlier that morning while another couple and myself were waiting for our vehicles. Another customer came in talking loudly about needing his car right away as he was leaving town. Bobby never raised his voice at the customer and remained professional, but that man was belligerent and demanding and proceeded to call him a vile name as he left the store. The man further continued to honk his horn and "burn rubber" as he was leaving the parking lot. I and the other customers were shocked at how the man behaved, and we expressed our regret to Bobby for the encounter but praised him for remaining professional the entire time.  I think he deserves an Employee of the Month award for not only how he helped me but also for how he exhibited extreme professionalism under pressure - the epitome of EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Callled on Monday 020122 to schedule an oil change and they said it would be $50 and that he could give me $15 off. Showed up today for appointment and the service person said $100. I told him that I might as well go to the dealer! There was no one waiting inside and there was no one working in the shop! Maybe there prices are too high never seen it that dead! Supposed to get a free tire rotation since I bought 4 tires from them. The location in Burtonsville is slow as molasses and this one charges random prices. read more

I had a scheduled appointment for 930am. I show up promptly at 920 to ensure I was on time. I get a checked in at roughly 940. Immediately they were trying to up sale me on the type of tire installation and lifetime rotations. I did ask for this during the scheduling of my appointment and to assume I want it and put it on the initial invoice is unacceptable. I was told the total time would be about 2 hours which was to be expected. I headed over to Home Depot to talk walk around. I headed back at 1130 and was told that the oil change was completed but the tires just arrived!!!! I was then told that it would another 1 to change the tires. 3 hours after, I finally leave....so I had a 930am appointment and I ended up spending 6 hours at Mr. Tire. Their blatant lack of concern my time and the time of the other customers is truly unacceptable. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

I went in because my wheel was shaking a bit and figured I might need new brakes (I had just gotten an alignment at my last oil change). When it comes to cars, I'm fairly oblivious- I just do the maintenance to keep the warranty and whatever else the professionals tell me I need done. Mr. Tire called an hour or so later and told me that I would need new brake pads and brakes, and it was urgent. Will cost $1200. I spoke to colleagues at work and they said I should have heard a grinding noise if that were the case. I called them back, and he said he would send me a photo of the brake pads detailing how bad they are. A while later they sent a photo (bit blurry) highlighting a ring around the brake pad (tire was not disassembled), identifying it as extremely worn and needed to be replaced immediately, all 4 tires. A coworker's uncle said he would do the work for much less, so I went to him. When I called Mr. Tire to tell them, he said "I hope you're not driving far, because it will be extremely dangerous!" Coworker's uncle took a look at the tires and said the brake pads were fine. The ring around the edge of the brake pad that Mr. Tire identified as extremely worn was not even touched by the brake itself. I feel like they tried to take advantage of the fact that I'm an woman who lacks knowledge in the automotive department. Service on 3 vehicles I own in the last 2 weeks Vehicle #1 ..I was told that lug nuts were possibly stripped and guy didn't want to be responsible for it should he take it off and its striped .I explained 4 year old vehicle tires never taken off ..how can be stripped ?He said Id be okay with 4 lug nuts on ..I suggested they put 5 on it for a reason .. I asked him how would it be replaced? Do they have them in stock? He said no front desk would have to see what they can do ..Strange you come in this place with one problem and you drive out with 3!# 3 people ahead of me suddenly all the staff go home ...What? I asked him if tried using some navy or heavy duty bearing grease to try to remove it ? No he hadn't. So I went to look at it ..instead of trying to do it by hand he was trying to torque it with gun ...I suggested hand turning it He had torque gun on it and suddenly off it came no problems. Hmm ..Now while I sat for 3 hrs in waiting area I observed 2-3 different staff come into waiting are telling people that they had stripped lug nuts on there wheels...Several people were like what? By the 3rd one I began to wonder if this was the up sale of the day ..How can everyone have 1-3 lub nuts not fit or broke when coming off ? Vehicle 2 ...I asked for tires to be rotated and balanced 6000miles since last done drive okay but this should be regular maintenance ...Pick up payed bill asked now did the tires get balanced ? yes ...Okay ...Out to vehicle looked at invoice no new balance had been done..Apparently they forgot ! While I had been waiting we over heard the mechanic from back tell front stop taking more people in ..Were behind and can't do it Just 2 staff here tonight and one useless new guy .....Front desk said to mechanic.. sorry we need to keep busy ... Vehicle 3...Tires bought at Mr Tire and losta up sale crap been done over the years not needed..3rd set of Tires bought in another Mr Tire store not far away ..Replaced because the tires had strange cracking on walls ..they refused to do much about it So I bought another new set. They transferred the Mr Tire All Hazard warranty at no charge to 3rd set of tires no charge ..Its on invoice ..Well I learned again that stores aren't networked so they can't find info on tires bought at another store ..nor the All Hazard warranty ...Today had a tire that had gone flat last week ..Couldnt get appointment too busy till today ..told to come when not busy so booked appt.. got here and busy ...Took 3.5 hrs to get 4 tires rotated and balanced and flat fixed .. Several other females in waiting area not happy with issues with brand new tires they had bought there in less then 2 weeks back for unresolved issues... I asked to have spare put back in compartment vs left in trunk .. Double checked before I left told yes its there ...Found it was in back of truck not put back where should be ..Asked for it to be replaced once again ..Valve stem covers not replaced today. While waiting today people with more service concerns and issues, Today we over heard serviceman as we waited say "lucky your here before 5 all my rookies work after 5" ...Wow thats not good to know ..... Tried 3x now to get price on tires for 4th vehicle ...Last week given qiven a price but person not sure which ones would be best ..Asked about price match which I had with me the 4 competitors prices including putting tire on balancing ect...Everything exactly the same ..Was told Item number different can't do it ...They told me big box places may sell same label and number of tire but there not same They may have inferior rubber in them etc Seemed strange to me ...Why if I could buy tires tax in etc out door for $560 would I pay $778 at Mr Tire ...Oh well we have best warranty here I was told ...asking me on the spot in front of everyone tonight did I meet all there expectations ...well hard to say ...just fix dam tire please ... In Summary once my Road Hazard warranty up with tires Im done with Mr Tire all of them ..they all do the same crap...Beware Road Hazard Warranty useless ...unless you have with you paper work to prove you bought it somewhere at Mr tire and its under warranty as they cannot tell you if you have it or not Computers are not linked ...or share data base services etc. You must check lug nuts before leaving place to make sure they're all put on tight Last time had 4 loose wheel almost came off ..Was told when I returned with video of wheel vibrating and loose etc that some one musta tried to steal a wheel ..even though each tire has 1 locking lug on it ..This place always has the excuses ...always chronically understaffed, lack knowledge of what there doing outside of lying to get your invoice/ticket up ... I always come here to get tire rotation and oil change. Rarely have a long wait - today 3/1/20 I was in and out in 35 minutes. Robert was super helpful and informative with additional work that needed to be done on my brakes and even took me to look at car to walk me through the issue. Also, last year when I was in for oil change, they were super understaffed that day because of employee illnesses. The shop was super busy - lots of people in line and phone ringing off the hook. I can't recall the woman's name who was working, but she was handling the front desk like a champ and was super calm and accommodating despite the chaos. She was apologetic and communicative with each customer. Impressive customer service. read more

Real bad now. I think Rudy left. I've been a Mr tire guy for years here and frederick. Today 8 24 I had a 3 pm drop off as the guy yesterday stated don't leave all day. When I came in at 3 the one woman manage stated will you wait. I stated yeah expecting the truck to at least go back in an hour. She acted like she didn't want to be there. Real attitude. After one hour of walking I come back and vehicle not in. I ask when and there like not sure. Then I say why give me an appointment. It was only an alignment. Walk in - had a tire with a slow leak, they fixed my tire, then saw I needed an oil change and offered to take care of it for me. I had mentioned I was going on a road trip soon, so I appreciated them making sure my car was in good shape. They have WiFi in their seating area, so I was working while waiting on my car and didn't even notice how long it took (didn't seem long)! read more

Have you ever left a place feeling like you've been wire brushed? I SWEAR THAT I AM THIS INCREDIBLY EASY GOING, LAID BACK, ALMOST BUDDHIST KIND OF PERSON. Steve is a bit over the top in a grating sort of way. It's a Saturday morning, and I get in line inside the store. From the front counter I hear a loud voice booming into a phone receiver, "It's a great day at Mr. Tire. This is Steve." Repeats when answering each phone call. (Steve, I'm glad it's a great day for you, but I just pulled a flat tire off my car and put on a spare outside in 30 degree weather.) Ugh. Finally, I get to the front. I explain to the technician that I have a flat on a warrantied tire that I purchased at the store. "How much will it be to fix the flat and remount on the car?" I ask. "$24.99," I'm told. "Now, how much if you fix the flat, and I remount?" "24.99" "But I bought the warranty." "Then it's free to repair and remount" (I render the judgment of charity and don't ask what's changed.) "How long to fix it? "The wait right now is an hour and a half." (I sense he's not used to getting asked questions and is rapidly losing patience with me.) "Okay, here's my mobile number, please call me if it's done early." I kill an hour wandering from the nearby Home Depot to Best Buy to Burlington and finally to Wendy's. No phone call from Happy Steve. It's only been an hour, but I head back to the store. My car's out front with the tire repaired and remounted. "Were they going to keep it a secret?" I wonder to myself. I stifle my sarcasm, however, and tell the Not-As-Happy-As-Steve counterman (maybe it's not a great day at Mr. Tire for him) that I'm here to pick up my car. I tell Not-As-Happy that I had requested to be called if my car was ready early. He says that it's only been up ten minutes or so. I let it drop. I'm handed my work receipt, and Not-As-Happy tosses the nail across the counter toward me in a "nanny-nanny-boo-boo" sort of way. "This is what was in your tire." "Thank you." (I had previously told the technician that there was a nail my tire.) I am sent on my merry way, except that I first ask for my proof of warranty back. Not-As-Happy can't find it. I explain that it's a yellow sheet of paper, and after a search of the back counter he locates it. I leave just feeling wire oh so brushed. read more
