We found Ancash Roadside Assistance on Yelp and called because they had such great reviews. He answered immediately, sent me a location-sharing request, and arrived in about 20 minutes. After spending nearly two hours stranded on the side of the road, that level of responsiveness was a huge relief. Once he arrived, he got right to work and had the tire changed in less than 15 minutes. The entire process was quick, efficient, and stress-free, and we were safely back on the road much faster than expected. My only suggestion for improvement would be to introduce yourself before getting started. It was dark, and we were two women stranded on the side of the highway. When he arrived, he pulled up behind us and immediately started changing the tire without introducing himself. I genuinely appreciated the urgency and willingness to jump right in and get the job done, but in that situation, a quick introduction would have gone a long way in helping us feel more comfortable and know that the person approaching our vehicle was the roadside assistance we had called. Overall, though, the service was excellent. He showed up when we needed help, worked quickly, and got us moving again in no time. If you're stranded with a flat tire and need someone reliable, I would definitely recommend Ancash Roadside Assistance.

The owner of…read moreWinegardner's Auto Repair had my car for 3 months and used it has his personnel vehicle for an unknown amount of time. I only know this because he left his garage door opener in my car when I picked it up the first time and he quickly removed it when I returned it for issues related to his work. He even admitted to driving it (thanks for using my fuel). Who does this? The issues involve him draining my power steering reservoir and not filling it back up (makes it difficult to steer and noisy) and not reconnecting the intercooler after he performed the timing belt job. When an intercooler is not reconnected, it makes a horrible hissing noise and large plumes of black smoke come out of your exhaust pipe. That means all sorts of road debris was sucked into sensitive sections of engine. I promptly returned to his shop to have it remedied. This was the first time I had to return my vehicle, which was 2 days after I had picked it up from the timing belt job. These are pretty large oversights and he drove my car this his residence with these issues unresolved. He said he never got up to freeway speeds to realize the intercooler was disconnected, but it still sucked up road debris while driving to his house. Not to mention the power steering pump being forced to function without any fluid in it. The second time my vehicle returned to his shop was when it died on the freeway from a dropped valve another 2 days for a total of 4 days after I picked it up from the shop, not 3 weeks as the shop owner claims. VW diesels don't have dropped valves when an engine is at 100K miles. VW diesels last 300k to 400k miles, so 100k miles is not much. As for my vegetable oil kit, it hadn't been used in over a year because I was deployed overseas. Also, such kits have an excellent track record. See my review of Grease Car. As for the shop owner submitting an insurance claim and having an independent company to perform an assessment only sounds good on paper. Insurance companies are in the business of not paying. The insurance company hired the the same independent appraiser they always use (they told me this), so how is that not a conflict of interest? The company in question prides itself on performing such services for insurance companies. Of course they will conclude that the shop owner wasn't at fault because the insurance company that hired them would have to pay up if they found otherwise. The timing was done wrong per 3 other VW diesel mechanics who have looked at my vehicle. The only reason this issue didn't go to court was because none of the mechanics wanted to be involved with a legal battle. As a result, I was left with no recourse against a large insurance company and their hired independent appraiser. A Yelp review is all I could do. Decide for yourself. Not only is this unfortunate, but it makes for an ugly situation and ruins good will. Penny wise and pound foolish is a bad policy.

What can I say about Sears Auto Center of Annapolis? Let me tell you about my experience. I went on…read moreline to look at some Michelin tires. The cost of the tires on line was great. I decided to purchase 3 tires in line and have them installed at Annapolis. On- line it showed they were only one of 3 stores that had the tires in stock. I made an appointment for a Saturday at 10 am. I received a text message that the tires were there and then an email confirming my appt. I made plans with my friend to meet me in Annapolis at 10 that morning while my car was being worked on. I checked in, presented my on line confirmation, her gentleman wrote up my ticket and said it would be 2 hrs. Prior to us leaving we had given him me and my friends cell phone number. He also checked with the gentleman named Jack to confirm the tires were indeed there. Jacks words were yes the tires are here or I wouldn't have accepted the order. I don't know where they are now but I'll get my hands on them. Fast forward 2 1/2 hrs later we return to my car with the same worn out tires, in the same parking space I left it. The car hadn't been moved. At this point I'm furious. I go back in to ask what happened and the gentleman who initially checked us in advised us to speak with Jack. Long story short they didn't have the tires. Now remind you we left 2 different phone numbers for them to call. Neither one of us had a miss call or message. He says the tires got stuck at the warehouse and wouldn't be in until Monday. I just spent my entire Saturday morning out Annapolis for a service I didn't receive. The inconvenience this visit was to me was huge. It made me late for my next scheduled appointment and it was a waste of time and gas. I live an hour away so I was pissed. He suggested I come back Monday. That would be a no. There was no way I could make that happen. Anyway, Jacks supervisor TJ came and spoke with us. He is the only reason I gave 2 stars. He offered to take the tires to the white oak store when they came in Monday. He didn't have to do that but he did. I am grateful. Otherwise, I would have had to wait longer: what I learned from this experience is to follow up, follow up follow up. I wish I would have had Jack go look for the tires before I left. I wish I would have called the store directly to confirm the tires were there. In any event, this mishap was solely the stores responsibility I will not be utilizing their services again at the Annapolis store but a huge thank you to TJ. My tires arrived at the white oak store by noon on Monday and my car was completed by 3.

I had an appointment. I arrived 10 mins before the appointment at 10 a.m. I was told it would take about 2 hours.
