DO NOT GO HERE. PEOPLE ARE SCUMBAGS. I went for a state inspection because it was close to work, crunched for time. They say it'll take 40 minutes. I leave the place get back to work they call me and say "your wipers aren't working you'll need to replace the motor for them it will cost $1,000." I knew there was nothing wrong with my wipers I found out they unplugged the connector cable to the motor (there's finger prints on it). I proceed to plug the connector back in and they work just fine now. Thanks for nothing Midas in Burlington. Get new employees who aren't POS. read more

I went to this Midas location for a state inspection because my usual shop was booked. During the inspection, I was told I needed new tie rods and emergency brake work. The quote for the tie rods alone was around $1,400, not including a $90 diagnostic fee to check the emergency brake or the cost to repair it. I declined the repairs and left. Within minutes of driving away, a plastic undercar shield came loose and was visibly damaged. I pulled over and tried to temporarily secure it myself, but it fell off completely. When I returned to the shop, they said they'd reattached it, though shortly after I got home I realized the shield was gone entirely, making it clear it had not been properly secured, if at all. I also discovered that my vehicle registration had not been returned. I had to come back the next day for a third visit just to retrieve it. I then took my car to my regular mechanic. They replaced a sensor related to the emergency brake for $100 and confirmed that my tie rods were completely fine (they were replaced last year). My car passed inspection without issue. This saved me at least $1,490 compared to what Midas quoted, plus repair E break fees they were planning to charge. Between the inflated repair quote, the loss of the undercar shield, the repeated trips back to the shop, and not being given my registration back, this experience was extremely frustrating. I'm not sure whether this was negligence or incompetence, but either way, the outcome was unacceptable. read more

I brought in a car in to get an estimate for a muffler replacement. They said would be free. That is all we asked for. There was a check engine light on. But we didn't ask or want them to investigate that as we would take it elsewhere for any additional repairs. They quoted $3,600 for the repair. I said it was too much and said I would pick up the car. When i arrived to pick up the car they sprung on me I owed $200 for the diagnosis for the check engine light. I had never been told the amount of the fee and never agreed to pay that amount. Total extortion! The prices kept changing and if they didn't want me to understand they spoke Spanish to each other. Too bad for them I speak Spanish so I knew they were up to no good. I ended up getting a quote for $1000. So, I decided to get a second opinion and took it to a shop where I've been many times before and always been happy but they're expensive. They said we didn't hear that correctly. My husband wears hearing aids and he even heard that. Later on one guy said 100 miles and then another guy said 10? Well which is it? Sorry 10,000/100 miles....nope try just 20 mins! Then when my husband called and said the problem is worsening they said no worries bring it back in we got you we will fix it. My husband said we already paid you for the problem so we shouldn't need to pay again. They said yep no problem. But that was a different story when I got there today??? Why did I take the day off from work today!!! Why would they lie? They should of told him no on the phone. Because when you do a diagnostic it should tell you which sensor is the problem and then they fix it. I actually just researched this. The sensor that is out we can actually fix it ourselves if its just tire pressure related. If it's more serious than a mechanic needs to get involved and do a diagnostic to see which sensor it is. And its $50-$250 depending on labor cost. They're making a mole hill out of something so simple. And they never fixed the issue. You drive it for 20 mins. Which most mechanics do a test drive of the vehicle to see what the issue is and or after. They called me talking about wiper blades and batteries. It's likes yeah, yeah...what about the sensor. Then I did need new tires and they tried to sell me the most expensive tires their was....my husband's job is down the street and back. That's how far he drives. The guy was going on because we took a road trip over the summer. Well that's why we need new tires. We don't do road trips weekly??? It's like they don't listen. They just sit and think how can I get money from this idiot!!!! Well you just lost another person. And I'm just going to post this to Google, Nextdoor, your site and if you're BB credited and if the next mechanic finds out that you didn't even fix the sensor....which well we know you didn't he will write a letter so I can send it to my credit card company. This is not a good tire or any kind of shop. I had a flat tire on the way to a very special event, got there right at opening, asked them to plug it or just replace tire which they said they had. Told me they needed 25 minutes. They then called me about the full inspection they did on my car and told me I needed all new tires other work which would have totaled well over $2000. When I got back there my car was still on the rack, hood up and no work around the tire. The manager then was insistent that I get all the work done. I repeatedly said no. He then told me I had to buy 2 tires. I said no and finally after making we wait for almost 2 hours they decided to put the tire on the car, knowing that I was going to miss a very special family event. And of course, they charged me double for what I have ever paid in the past anywhere. Terrible Quality, Bad Service, Not trustworthy !! I would stay away from these incompetent guys who can screw up even simple jobs like oil change, brake fluid change or re-balancing tires. They will also pressure and scam you into buying other services you don't need. I have been taking our car to Midas, Burlington for oil change for last couple of years. In June this year, I made an appointment for oil change at 12 noon on a Saturday, dropped off the car and was told that car would be ready to pick up in couple hours. Nobody called me until the closing time, 4 PM, so I returned to the shop at 4 PM only to find out they had not even started the job. During previous oil change, they overcharged me and when I complained, they gave me a coupon for free oil change, which I decided to use this time. Since I was using the coupon a free oil change, I believe Charles & Manny pressured me into buying other unnecessary services like brake fluid change, re-balancing tires etc. Even for these simple jobs, quality of service was awful and they could have ruined our expensive car. During Brake Fluid change, they dropped the cap on the brake fluid holder into the engine compartment and could not recover it. Small weights they put on tires for re-balancing were rubbing against the brake shoe and started making rattling noise while driving. Obviously, they did not even bother to test drive the car after so called "tire re-balancing" . I had to go back and get it fixed the next day. They refused to make any adjustment to the bill for their screw-ups, bad quality and all the hassle I had to go through. Instead of welding a new bracket, they decided to weld a bolt on the one side and the old rusted broken piece on the other side. I went in to have a light changed above my license plate and get an estimate on a muffler. The two working at the counter couldn't see more disinterested in helping me. They told me there would be a large fee to just inspect my car to see what needs to be done and get an estimate of the work. That is ridiculous, I've never heard of such a thing. So I asked to just have my light fixed above my license plate which should be pretty easy. Took a while to determine what was going on in their shop and if anyone was free. The determined that there was one person not doing anything that might be able to help me. Then they go on to tell me that "with any work they have to do a full car inspection, so it's going to take a while" and they wouldn't just let me get my light changed and that inspection wouldn't be adequate to give me an estimate of the work. "Must've been." Um, NO. Trust me, I'm faint-of-heart when it comes to dashboard lights and beeping alarms. If the light was on, it's NOT something I would miss. So suddenly after taking my car to this Midas, the O2 sensor wire *has been cut*?! He helpfully told me that it'll need to be replaced before my next inspection and that it'll run $100-$400 depending on the make and model of my car. The good news: Very friendly and professional staff, no pressure, efficient service. The not so good news: Hidden costs/fees. I was charged (and you will be too) a $3.50 "shop fees" charge for an oil change, and then there was anticipated/expected taxes on top of that. So you should essentially add $4-$7 to any oil change estimate, or to the large banners out front advertising $19.99 oil changes. Keep in mind that the $19.99 limited time oil change DOES NOT include semi-synthetic or synthetic blend oil. They will also politely try to up-sell you other items, though there was no pressure at all by the staff here - again - the staff is great. read more

I went there on Saturday January 8 to get my oil changed. In the course of waiting for my car to be finished I was told I needed a new Serpentine belt and it was going to cost over$200. I told no, I'm going to wait. When my car was finished I noticed on the paperwork they gave me that they said I needed to new rotors and brake pads. I knew this was not correct. I brought my car to a mechanic to look over these things that they said I needed. I was told by the mechanic that I do not need any of these items fixed! So buyer beware! I've been here a few times because it's convenient for me while I'm at work, but I will not be going back. A few weeks ago one of my headlights burned out, so I went to Midas to get it replaced. After an hour, they told me they replaced the bulb, but the light still didn't work so it was probably a burnt fuse as well. They said they could run diagnostics to see, but that would be another $100 and another hour. I brought my car to my mechanic near my house, and he replaced the bulb in under 30 minutes, and said there wasn't anything wrong with the socket at all. So not sure what Midas did - they either didn't replace my bulb, replaced the wrong bulb, or didn't reconnect the wires correctly, but in any case, they didn't do their job. I've gone for other things before, and they've always been fine, but a little pricey. But I will not be going back!! read more

If could, I would like to to give the ZERO star. They have the ADs of $19.99 for an oil change. My son went there and they charged him $91.49 for an oil change. Yes, $91.49 for an oil change for a Volkswagen Jetta, and it was even NOT the best. They didn't accept Amx which the only type of card my son has. I was called there to pay for it. I argued with him with the price. At the end, I didn't want to waste my time and agreed to pay. The the owner said He couldn't take my credit card because he was afraid I might dispute the charge . Very Bad Experience. Had my break repaired in May. Come to find out I was basically a victim of highway robbery and was overcharged hundreds of dollars. About a month later I came back because my break is literally smoking and my car stalled out on the highway. They told me nothing was wrong. The next day the same thing happened. That the previous auto shop I went to, claimed it was a brake issue. Clearly it was not, since my brakes had just been replaced. I explained to Cody where the noise was coming from. So when I was told I'm being charged $50.00 to check my brakes, when you've advertised it's free; I was perturbed. Now, by simply listening, they told me it was my transmission, and how my car was unsafe to drive. He then kept saying, you shouldn't be driving it. You have to leave it here. I'll get you a Lyft home. Kept pressuring me. Then said, I can order a transmission and it's used. It's still in the other car and coming from Rhode Island. So a week without a car. Then the estimation of $4,000 to fix it. Here's where it becomes suspicious. I also had to put down a $1,500 deposit, and leave my car on the property, until whenever the work was done. How sketchy does that sound? I also had to sign a waiver saying, he told me it was unsafe to drive. He also did not inform me, they torqued my wheels, and I'd have to come back for a check(WHICH I IWON'T). I'll go to my usual tire guys. I've now gone to two other mechanics. They both said, I should never have been told I have to leave a deposit, and the car and that's extremely suspicious. Also the images you see uploaded by the owner, aren't real. None of those are real staff members, and come from Midas stock images. I would go elsewhere, and ladies especially watch out. I needed an oil change and I called 20 minutes prior to showing up and they still were able to fit me in. When I came in they were very helpful, quick and efficient. The staff was also very nice and accommodating. They offered me coffee and tea and told me I could help myself to anything. It was a great experience overall. The job a year ago was not done correctly. I went back after getting a second opinion and since then there is a new manager and Cody took responsibility for the work that was done by the prior service team. I went here for an oil change the other day. He threw in a tire rotation with it. My car felt brand new as I drove away after the service was performed. I was happy with it, it was $40 total and took way less time than anticipated at only about 25 minutes.
