I was very impressed with the service. I tend to ask a lot of questions. The lady behind the desk answered all of them. She took me out and showed me different aspects of the car and their effect. This led me to realize I had been lied to from a different mechanic. I will continue to come to this Midas for specific work. Downside: I found one of my trips to be excessively expensive. Overall 4 stars. 5 if you have plenty of questions and don't mind spending a little bit extra. read more

Never again! I had to wait almost two hours for a oil change with an appointment. I needed a tire rotation but opted out because I figured I would end up sleeping there. The kid who changed my oil had the speed of a sloth. My mom is almost 90 years old and moved quicker than he did. How many times can you grab the wrong socket to remove a oil plug? read more

The WORST experience ever! My son needed snow tires mounted on to his car. He had an appointment at 2:30 pm & wasn't seen until nearly 5:00 pm. (He's 19 & somewhat naive). The tech mounted 3 out of the 4 tires on & while removing the 4 th tire notices that the Lug nut was tight . It was nearing closing time & the tech said he could not finish the job because it would take too long. My son came home & gave me the paperwork which stated the same. A couPle of weeKs later, I asked my son where the previous tires were & he stated that he was never asked if he wanted to keep them. He truly did not I know to ask for them. 2 of the tires were brand new. I spoke to Jon the manager, who stated he would "have to look into this." I did not receive ive a return call & when I called back, I was told he was at lunch & would return my call. NOT! So I called the district manager "Harry" who also stated that he would look into this & call me back.. NOT!!! Jon called me the next day & stated that Harry was having "some personal issues " & that my situation was still being reviewed. So after no return call... again.. I proceeded to call customer satisfaction - they took my information & sincerely apologized for this poor business practice. The representative actually called Midas while I was on hold , spoke to Jon who emphatically denied ANY knowledge of me or my situation! I was given a number for corporate division of Midas, explained the entire situation AGAIN & was told that there was "nothing that could be done " for any kind of compensation or consideration " for my loss. So my brand new tires are probably being driven as "used" as they were most likely sold by Midas..I am SCREWED all the way around . Thank you, you liars & thieves for NOTHINGi read more

Worst experience ever, they charged $900 and messed up every part they worked on. They had my car for eight hours for two days in a row and I literally have to bring it to a different auto shop to fix the damages Midas did. Don't ever go there unless you plan on wasting tons of $$ and time. read more

On my way home from work on afternoon and I noticed my truck getting louder and louder. What I found was my exhaust pipe broken and my tail pipe inches from the road. Five minutes down the road was a Midas shop. I've heard of them but never used their services before. I walked in and was immediately greeted, and asked if I needed help. After explaining the situation, the counterperson looked over my truck to confirm what was wrong and within 10 minutes had a printed quote for me. Considering the work needed, I felt the quote was reasonable. I asked "What's the soonest I can get this scheduled for?". He replied "Right now". I gave him my keys and in about 90 minutes, his shop had replaced my exhaust pipe, muffler (it also had a hole in it which he pointed out), tail pipe and necessary hardware and had me ready to head home for the day. Quick, courteous and true to the quote. I'm very happy and would recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I brought my 9-year old car (which is in very good condition) in over month ago to fix a loud rattling right near the driver that would happen when first accelerating from a complete stop. After an examination, the manager informed me that the rattling was caused by a defective exhaust filter that cost over $900 to install, and that he had to order the part. I called back a week later to verify that they had ordered the part. They had not. They then ordered it and I had to wait even longer for repairs. After completion of the work (and payment), the manager informed me that I should monitor another problem that caused a noise, which was a broken motor mount, a $170 job. I just wanted to make sure the car was fixed as I was driving to Jersey the next day, so I told him to do it. He had to order that part from his stockroom in Troy, so I had to leave and come back. As I was driving away, I still heard the original noise for which in brought in the car in the first place. When I returned, I told this to the manager and tried to explain that I was upset about spending so much money to not get my problem fixed. He tried to convince me that what he fixed was critical and that it would in a few years completely choke off my engine. My car is 9 years old and might night be on the road in three years. He even had the gaul to suggest that he was doing me a favor by telling me about the motor mount problem (the original problem that his crew failed to diagnose). When I raised my voice at this suggestion, he gave me my keys back and told me to get out of his garage. Eventually he returned and did the work I needed, but only after informing me that they'd gotten the wrong part from the stockroom and I needed to come back a 3rd time an hour later. 5 hours and $1100 later, I had my car fixed when it should've been a $170 job. At no point in this time did the manager apologize to me or attempt to see y point of view. He spent the entire discussion trying to rationalize what they did and questioning me on what I'd originally told him. He refused to see my point of view. He also didn't accept responsibility for a.) forgetting to order the part after the original diagnosis, and b.) ordering the wrong part and causing me to waste my entire Saturday waiting for a part. I try to choose a mechanic based on trust. I can't know what's really the case with what's wrong with my car. Based on the way I was treated by this person, I've completely lost trust in this shop and in Midas. If they'd apologized to me originally and offered some sort of help or compensation, this wouldn't have been a big deal. But when I've just wasted $900 and I'm being confronted by the mechanic as if I did something wrong, that is a serious breach of trust. read more

I recently went to Midas for an oil change and NYS inspection. My truck failed inspection due to rust on my rotors. They quoted me nearly 800 dollars for new brake pads and rotors on all 4 wheels. That is absurd! The labor they quoted was about $180 which is fair, but the parts were nearly $600! I was able to get the pads and rotors from Advance Auto for under $200, and performed the work myself. I would have no problem spending $180 in labor if they didn't inflate the parts over 300%. So after I installed the pads and rotors I took it back for a re inspection. They wanted to charge me $100 dollars to put my truck up on their lift and check the work I did on the brakes before they could do the re inspection. I said forget it and took my truck to a small local garage and it passed inspection. The owner said I was the second person of the day to have complaints about Midas. So BEWARE!!! read more

They fully explained what the issues were with my rear brakes and why I needed to change the rotors and not just the pads. They also showed and explained issues with the emergency brake pads and did not just tell me my brakes were bad. read more
