Good news: I'm officially crossing one torment off the list, because our trip to Sullivan Honda was shockingly fantastic. Dave Paolino was just sensational. He was personable and not pushy or aggressive. We got a fair deal on a wonderful new 2026 CRV and a good value on our trade-in. Sullivan was the third dealer we visited, and the difference in how we were treated was noticeable. One dealer, after we spent fifteen minutes at his desk going over everything, didn't even ask for our names and contact information after we got up to leave. In another dealership, one salesman handed us off to a rookie after a few minutes who probably knew less about the makes and models than I did. We had a positive experience at Sullivan starting with the minute we walked in. After Dave introduced himself, he walked us around the showroom and the lot, answered our questions, explained the new features and technology that are light years beyond what we had in our ten-year-old model, and sent us off on a solo unaccompanied test drive. He looked at our existing car and soon wrote us out a clear to read written proposal with trade-in allowance for a new one. We wrapped things up a few days later and now have that brand new CRV. I must admit that navigating that Infotainment screen is a bit challenging and I need to get better at using the maps, apps, music, etc. I also want to give a shoutout to Sam the Android Tech and John in Finance who helped us along the way.

People get pressured by their selling dealer's finance dept. to buy an extended warranty from them, at a major markup. But Curry sells so many on-line, in person and over the phone, they can offer a HUGE savings. Josh is awesome to work with on buying, canceling these Honda Care warranties and makes it so easy. Unfortunately, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. I never received a call in the morning confirming that my vehicle had been received or reviewing the services that were supposed to be completed. When I called Curry Honda myself, the service advisor assigned to my vehicle was never available. I called multiple times throughout the day and was unable to speak with the advisor. I was also informed that the inspection machine was not working, which was especially frustrating because this seems to repeatedly happen during August and September, when many customers need their inspections completed. Eventually, I was told by the cashier that my vehicle was ready for pickup. However, when I arrived, I found out that the inspection had not been completed. I was then told that I would need to drive approximately 100 miles before the vehicle could be inspected. To make matters worse, when I received my vehicle, the tire pressure warning light was on. Instead of checking the pressure of all four tires to determine why the warning light was activated, the advisor simply reset the light. Overall, this was an awful experience with very poor communication and customer service. I expected much better communication, attention to detail, and professionalism, especially when leaving my vehicle overnight for scheduled service. Based on this experience, I am extremely disappointed with Curry Honda's service department.

What should have been an exciting purchase quickly turned into months of stress, uncertainty, and constantly having to chase answers. I was told that the vehicle had to be brought back to this dealership because the warranty would not cover the repair within the first 30 days of purchase. However, the dealership then kept the vehicle beyond that timeframe and ultimately processed the repair through the warranty anyway. As a result, my warranty coverage was used to repair a vehicle that, in my opinion, should not have been sold in that condition to begin with. Very sneaky! At one point, I was even made to feel like I was somehow at fault for driving the vehicle--when in reality, I purchased a car to use it, not to worry about whether normal use would cause it to fail. That moment really stuck with me. I was told they see these issues happen everyday to cars that this is normal. I was told the issues were due to the age and mileage for the vehicle. Zero accountability. After finally getting the vehicle back, the same issue happened again not long after. I completely lost confidence in both the vehicle and the dealership's ability to properly fix the problem. I was advised NOT to drive the vehicle off the lot as I would do more damage and warranty wouldn't continue to cover the repairs but they had no concerns on damage or safety having us drive 1.5 hours there twice for repairs. What made this experience worse was the way it was handled at a management level. My interactions with the general manager came across as dismissive and I was appalled by the statements made as they were very unprofessional. Honestly an embarrassment for their organization. I understand that cars can have issues--but how a dealership handles those issues matters just as much. In this case, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and how the warranty situation was handled made an already difficult situation much worse. If you find yourself in a similar situation, know that you do have options. You can file a complaint with the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles, which oversees dealer practices and consumer protections. It's called the K-35 Dealer Complaint Form. I'm sharing this so others go in informed. Ask questions, document everything, and make sure you understand exactly how problems will be handled after the sale. Don't count on transparency from this dealership. They won't tell you the vehicle being sold just had a major engine repair 2 days before sale. The same engine repair that had to be fixed twice, among other parts that were affected in the process.

Second trip for service was a tune-up, I was told the distributor had a crack and I needed a new one, when I went to pick-up my vehicle they told me they had to put in 3 distributors to find the right one to get it to run right, were these USED parts again. I was getting 18/20 mpg before tune-up,now I'm getting 8/10 mpg,engine running rough and now $400.00 less in my pocket. It looks like they use Used parts to repair customer vehicles and charge top dollar and only hope everything works. This business does AAA towing with several used/junk cars on the property, one can only wonder if these are the parts being used.
