I been going here for 7 plus years and never had an issue. Today was different. Showed up for a 7:30 appointment, car taken right in. At the time just me and customer waiting. So after sitting for 40 mins, I'm like where is my car? I go to look in garage for worker and he's pulling something down and underneath frame. Looks like he was trying to manhandle something....? So totally aggravated with this oil change going into over a hour. I wait another 10 minutes and finally done. And to get to the conclusion, the guy behind the counter, I guess store manager remarks that I could go somewhere else if I didn't like the long wait. I was done, long oil change rude manager and will be looking for a new place. This place is a crap shoot I wouldn't trust them with my car again. Part 2......Checked my online bank statement and found out the manager double charged me for the same service. ($129.72). They replied to first review quickly to offset the review and gave me a number to call. After shuffling the animated helpline. Total waste of time, indifferent customer service from start to finish. I must say Manny and his team were beyond professional and handled my "problem" child with white glove service. They balanced my tires and even switch out wheels and tires. My car didn't fit on the lift and they made sure to handle my 87 corvette with gentle hands and got her lifted and taken care. Can't say enough good things about this place. Shockingly horrible customer service. Rude, arrogant & dismissive. Made an appointment 2 days prior for 11 a.m. Upon arrival was told (not asked) to come back at 1. No sorry, no explanation other than repeatedly stating our machine is being used right now in a very dismissive tone. I took my car in for an oil change. I was drawn in by the free tire rotation offer that comes along with the oil change. I confirmed with the guy at the front desk before the service that they would rotate my tires, he said yes. Then as I was paying I asked if the tire rotation was done and he said yes. It wasn't until I got home that I realized it was never done. I'm missing a hubcap on one of my tires and when I got home I saw that tire was in the same place. I called them and explained what happened and they told me I could come back in and they would take care of it. I have 2 small children and it's a hassle to drag them out and make them sit in a small place and keep them occupied. The fact that I was lied to will make me avoid any services from them in the future. Additionally, the sticker for my oil change stated I had until around 96,000 miles until the next change and at about 94,000 my car started shaking and telling me to change oil. I should mention I don't drive much. I maybe work 3 days a week and my work is about 20 miles from my home. I suggest staying away from this place. It's a bunch of young kids who don't have a work ethic or a conscience. Invest in a local non corporate shop with a good reputation. I walked into this Monro shop in Enfield, where I've been a loyal customer for about a decade. All I needed was to get my car's coolant thermostat changed. Simple enough, right? Regardless of the fact that the thermostat is ($60) at AutoZone on the other side of the street, they will most likely get it from there. They gave me ($524) estimation for the replacement. This is not the first time, the previously gave me ($850) to change 2 rotors. But this is not our main story now; most of the mechanics act as neurosurgeons these days. I met a very nice, polite girl at the front desk, probably the best part of this messed-up place, and she tried to help even though she is not a mechanic. She went inside to ask this, let's say, ridiculously arrogant, self-important, and oblivious guy for help. This guy was too busy babbling on the phone for a good 10-15 minutes, acting like he was on a call with the President talking about war plan or something. Finally, he came to the front desk, completely ignored me, just looked at the paper, and gave instructions to the girl to check the code and the fix add labor costs, then walked away again as if I were invisible. Maybe he really beli that he is a neurosurgeon Or something. In short, this guy is the last person who should be in customer service. He's a prime example of how not to treat human beings, let alone customers. So yeah, if you're looking for a messed-up place, a masterclass in how to be an unprofessional, grumpy, ignorant, this guy's definitely your guy. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Went there for a routine oil change and they never changed the oil filter and in the paperwork said my car had over 100,000 miles on it. Didn't realize they messed with my mileage until I got my car fax report. My actual mileage is under 70,000 on an 8 year old car. read more

Arrived for a scheduled oil change appointment. Took someone 10 minutes to acknowledge me despite the fact that they made eye contact with me several times. When someone finally arrived at the counter, he was very abrupt as if I was disturbing him. I was told they could not service my vehicle as they did not have an oil filter because it was a new 2024 Subaru??? No offer was made to see if one could be obtained and I was told to go to Subaru directly (which is 40 minutes away) I stopped at Firestone down the street and scheduled with them...friendlier and the oil filter was in stock. The place has gone downhill since Bill left!!! They really don't seem to care anymore and can't even be decent to their long standing customer! WILL NEVER RETURN! read more

This place has changed since Bill left. He was very friendly and very helpful. I didn't have the sense that anyone was in charge today and the crew in the back seemed very unhappy. The guy working the front desk really couldn't care less about customer service and I could hear the guys in the shop using the F word every two minutes. Oil Change was supposed to take 45 minutes and I was there for over an hour. There was a 12 year-old (sarcasm intended... Maybe he was 20 ) trying to reset my computer to indicate that my tire pressure had been checked. That seemed to hold my time up by at least 20 minutes and I finally told him I could do it myself. Also, they had a note on my ticket saying there was a rats nest in my engine, but no one ever talked to me about it or asked me if I wanted them to try and remove it. I paid quite a bit more than I did six months ago even though I asked the guy for their best price. After I left, I found a better price on their own website, and even though I asked him for coupons, he charged me more. I don't think I'll be going back there. I just don't feel they're on the ball and they're like a bunch of kids working in the shop who don't give a shit about their customers. Before they started the work, I asked him if he could please let me know how much life I had left on my brakes and tires. I had to go back and ask him since the numbers on their text sheet didn't mean anything to me, and if I hadn't asked, I would have looked at it later and had no idea, how much life was left on these items. Nearly got me killed. They checked my car's front end suspension and said everything was good. I kept hearing a hard clunk sound when turning the wheel at low speeds in the parking lot so I knew something had to be wrong. 2 weeks later, I luckily was going at slow speed turning into a gas station when I started hearing a loud scraping sound so I stopped immediately to see what the problem was. I saw that the left front wheel was pushed in at a weird angle. I pushed and pulled on the tire a little bit and the whole wheel collapsed. I jacked it up and discovered my upper ball joint had ripped out of its socket. If this had happened at normal city speed or on the highway, it is doubtful that I would be able to write this review. Avoid this location at all costs, they are dangerously incompetent. read more

I just acquired a used Mini Cooper from a family member, and in the course of registering it, I needed to have an emissions test. I decided to have an oil change before the test, and tried my regular company, only to discover that they could not work with a Mini. I asked around and received a recommendation for Monro, which could work with Mini Coopers. I phoned to set up an oil change and learned that I needed to make an appointment. This was no problem; I set the appointment, had to cancel (phoned to let them know - they were fine with it) and reset the appointment. I brought my car over, was greeted with courtesy and professionalism, handed over my documents, answered some questions, and waited for the work to be done. I learned that one of their mechanics is certified to work on European vehicles like mine. Once it was finished, they presented me with the bill. They had identified and applied any 'coupons' or discounts, and the total was reasonable. I will be returning to this location for future service. read more

Worked with manager John for a number of issues on 2 vehicles. John is honest and does his best to work with each customer. Personally drive my car to hear the noise I was hearing to diagnose after a brake job. Pulled it straight in and had it dealt with right away. Turned out to be a warped rotor which he showed me on the lathe. Replaced, then he test drove it himself after the tech had already test driven it. Use the app / website to make an appointment as they are very busy and rarely take walk-in oil changes. Deal with John when you call or stop in & you won't be disappointed. read more

Went to pick it up and had two huge circular scratches on both driver side doors. Manager first said he was unaware how it could happened but then told the insurance claim the vehicle already had them. Why didn't you say that the first time. just came back from Monro Auto Ser, I called in today spoke with their manager about a small part I needed to replace on my battery for my 2012 Max I have having trouble trying to get small bolt off my battery connecters so I brought it down to the shop and they were able to take off the bolt and replace my battery connecter with in 5mins just wanted to say thanks John, I always bring my car in for a oil change and john and staff are always helpfull an honest. read more

They mislead you with a oil change sign at the entrance but when you get in they tell you you have to schedule 3 days in advance and you have to drop off the car a full day for an oil change. read more

Last time there for myself or my daughter, STAY AWAY ! I went there 2 weeks ago for a leaking power steering, He said it would be 1,400.00 to fix. I went somewhere else with the paperwork and that garage told me it was something completely different.. My daughter brought her car there a few days ago to find out what the squealing was in here car, they took off her wheel looked inside and told her she needed brake pads.. She went to another garage to make sure and when they tried to take lug nuts off they found out they were stripped. She brought car back to Monroe and they gave her a very hard time in front of other customers telling her they didn't do it. She insisted and had them order a set. She took the set and went back to the garage and had them put them on. Plus the markup on their parts is almost 48%!! read more

Well....I've tried 3 times with these folks. I made 2 appointments that ended up in me waiting between 1-2.5 hours for each and the 3rd tune I just walked in like a lot of folks seem to do at 8:30 in the morning on a Monday and was told they had nothing open today but what about Tuesday and I said I only had today off and he never even bothered to try and keep my business. I think I was just taking up his time so I just went down the street where they were happy to get me in and out in 35 mins! This past Monday I was traveling back from northern Vermont to Haddam driving a F250 super duty with a four yard dump trailer loaded with furniture. I had borrowed the truck from my father in-law which had been sitting unused for about three months. While in heavy traffic just prior to the CT state line on 91 I felt at least one brake caliper seize up. I limped the truck off the highway and parked in an empty lot. I detached the trailer and assed the brake issue. Realizing I could not make it all the way home o asked someone where the nearest open garage was. I was directed to the Monro Shop. I made my way to the shop and found it was still open. It was 5:55pm and the shop closed at 7. I explained my situation to the person in charge stressing that I was in a bind as I had the trailer, my wife, son, and dog waiting by the trailer in my son's car. Without even thinking about it I was told "I can't help you". I explained I would pay a premium for help and was told "My time is worth more". There were two technicians standing doing nothing. I said something about remembering when customer service meant something and people stepping up to help someone in a bind. He directed my to Firestone which was about a mile away and said maybe they could help me. I went to Firestone, which also closed at 7. The manager said they would look at it. The manager and technician stayed until 9:40 repairing the brakes. That is customer service, something Monro has no clue about. It turned out 3 calipers were seized, warping the rotors and smoking the pads. Monro missed out on an $1100 sale. read more

RIP OFF!! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! This place has really gone downhill. For the past 2 years I brought my car here exclusively for ALL repairs and service, spending about $1500 per year. After my most recent visit this shop has permanently lost my business. I had to have 2 tires switched out with snow tires. I had an appointment at 9am. Didnt start working on it till 10am, so I waited an hour for a 5 minute job. Then they charged me $46 after telling me $23 initially. When I asked, he said "oh that was per tire". $46 to spend 5 minutes swapping out 2 tires!?!?! INSANE! I guess nickel and diming me this visit was more important to them than keeping a loyal, long term customer. Never again! read more

These guys are recently under new management (about a year or so). The previous guys were great, they'd give you free estimates and wouldn't mind if you declined the work. The new folks however aren't the same. I first went in with a brake check, which they checked, gave me a quote and I respectfully declined (since I can do brakes myself). Next time I drove in and told them I need a check on the belts. The main guy there actually said "Will this be like last time where we quote the work and you decline?" I said, "Yes it could be". He then replied that "I wont do that". I then offered to pay him for his time to check the car out. He still declined. Similar experience as Giselle. Presented a coupon for an oil change for $19.95. I understand the added cost of for disposal and that there would be tax. But, the service manager "added" $3.55 for an additional quart of oil. He stated that the fine print in the coupon was for 4 quarts. Well, he lied. If they lie about a quart of motor oil, I can imagine the add-on costs that pad their service costs. read more

Last time I been to the Monro in Enfield was in July of 2014 for a tune-up which is what the manager Mark Mincarelli told me I needed to have done and that was the problem that was causing the check engine light to come on and the engine misfire and it took them 2 days to do it and then there was still a problem with the engine misfire and they told me they thought it could be the cataylic converter, but it wasnt, and then they told me it could be the throttle body and it wasnt that, they had me keep my car there for a week to figure out what it was and to try to fix the problem and they couldnt, so I had to take my car which is a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL to the Ford dealership and they had to replace the PCM module, all Monro in Enfield did was waste my time for nothing read more

RIP OFFS!!!! I will never go back there again. I went there for an oil change and I was 2 quarts of oil over on the oil. I had to take it to my mechanic because my car was loud and making a ticking noise. The Mechanic working on my car was distracted by some guy who was in the bay smoking a cigarette by my car. They also said I needed $ 2,000.00 worth of repair work as my catalatyic convertor was bad so we're the tires as well as the alignment. While my mechanic was having to drain the excess oil out of my car I had them check my exhaust and catalatyic convertor to see if ur needed to be fixed, the only thing my car needed was the flex pipe. The Bill was 140.00 for them to do that. When I called the manager his words to me were " I'm sorry if the smoking offended you by Your car. Lied and said it was his day off the day I went there. Then said the mechanic was a good friend of his and has never had a problem with him. I will never go there they never even asked to check my car out again to see if it's ok the manager could care less. If you want crappy service that's the place to go. read more

My brake hose collapsed on the way down to CT and front left wheel was compromised. My sister's garage was closed. Went to Monroe. $950 later. Corporate policy is to replace parts in pairs: 2 rotors, 2 calipers, 2 brake hose. I asked for the minimum to be done so I could get back home to my garage that did a brake job in April. They said and still insist that this amount of work was necessary to get my back on the road. I am not convinced. read more
