Needed an alignment because my car was swinging all over the road and was searching for a close shop that had good reviews and good prices. Ended up choosing Midas because of the cost and location. I would say I've looked through all the reviews on Yelp and Google and it's a mix but in my experience I would go back to this location. My alignment was only $109 not including tax and they squeezed me in the same day. I think it was Jason who helped me in the front and he was super nice and after the job was done he informed me how my car was during the process. Now my car doesn't feel like it's all over the road! I would say it would be best to make an appointment so it doesn't take as long as it did for me...but let's also appreciate the techs working in this heat and making sure our cars work properly! read more

I live in Chicago, but was back in KC visiting family when suddenly my car developed a loud exhaust rattle. I called this Midas location, and they took me right away, and found a loose heat shield, which they remedied - and didn't even charge me! They have restored my faith in humanity. Went in for a stuck brake caliper and they gave me a laundry list of things that needed to be immediately done. $2700. It seemed suspicious so I went to another shop down the road. Just a stuck caliper. $500 caliper, brakes, and rotors. read more

BEWARE! TAKE YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE! Somewhere REPUTABLE! Becaus MIDAS AINT IT! My brother took his car in on Wednesday Dec 22nd to get his wheel bearing fixed in the rear of his car. He did NOT drive his car at all the 24th 25th. By the night of the 26th, his car was making THE SAME KNOCKING NOISE it had been plus there is added screeching sound now. Monday morning the 27th took it back and they want to say their $800 repair that lasted all of TWO days was good and now want to charge him another $900 to fix the struts that they supposedly checked the other day during the previous repair and were in perfect condition. Give me a BREAK! FUCKIN CROOKS!!! I will be blasting yall everywhere I can and contacting BBB. read more

My experience at Midas this past weekend was awful. I went in for an oil change, tire rotation (as I have for the past year, after switching from another provider), and a break check. My breaks have been squeaking every so often when going down an incline. Midas told me that it would cost $460.00 to maybe resolve the issue. As a 20 year old college student, I told them that I would not proceed at this time, but had plans to return at the end of the year, once all of my finances were paid off. After leaving Midas, I realized my breaks sounded 10 times worse than when I came in. I returned to Midas and shared my issue with them and their responses were as follows: "You came in with a problem, you're leaving with a problem." "You didn't want to pay, so here we are." This is NOT customer service. If you are a young woman, or anyone really, I do not recommend coming to Midas. They took advantage of me, and I will not be returning. read more

The technician at Midas came up with over $2100 in repairs to pass inspection (2 tires are bad, so you should probably replace all 4 and guess what? We're having a special on tires, it's your lucky day, etc). I did the repairs myself for about $200. Typical case of trying to fleece a young woman with unnecessary repairs. Jason quoted me more than Double for service and parts. I informed Jason I called the day before and received a much lower quote. I also contacted competitors in the area and they quoted all around the same price. Jason then made it seem as if he was doing me a favor by dropping the price. My car was there for 3 hours today and they haven't even moved it after saying it would only take 2 hours to complete. They never called me I just went back up there and saw they haven't even moved my car. When I asked for my keys back and to cancel my service, they did not even ask why. What a joke. I took my snow tires (on the rims) in to be bolted on to the car. They said the tires were full of air, but a few hours after driving away, the tire pressure light came on and I had to fill up the tires myself. read more

I'd stick to Midas just for the simple things like oil changes. They do a fairly good job, and check the rest of your vehicle over while they're at it for around $30-40. For further vehicle issues, though, I will not be returning to Midas. I do not believe it is an issue with Midas as a chain, but that it is just difficult to create a rapport with the people working here, which would translate into decent prices. While Midas' prices are hands down better than a dealer's prices, they are still high. First of all, they charge $75 just to plug in their computer to check out the check engine light. Then, they do not even waive that fee even if you decide to drop $500+ on repairs. Really sticking it to ya. I'd opted to get repairs done at this Midas location a couple of time to the tune of over $600 total. The latest time my check engine light came on, I forked out the $75 to figure out what was wrong with it, because I didn't know any better. They quoted me a price around $540 to fix a sensor, not including the cost it took to check the light. When I complained about the high price, they miraculously cut the price by about $150. I declined the service and decided to put off the repairs. Glad I did. I found the same repair for a total of $275 somewhere else. I'm not here to promote the second business. All I'm saying is that this Midas cushions their prices to make a hefty profit, and it likely wouldn't be in your best interest to get any significant repairs done here. I have have nothing but great service at this location. Jason has been nothing but honest and accommodating. Usually when I get an oil change I expect to be told my car needs a bunch of work when I know it doesn't. Jason always let's me know what needs work right away and what can wait. I usually only go to Midas for my oil change but I had a weird request, atleast to me it was. I called spoke with Jason which I believe is the manager and asked for advice on my wheels and sensors. Jason proceeded on answering my question and then continued with informing me that they could do it and gave me a quote. I set up the appointment and they took care of everything plus more. They gave me a $850 (about $1000 total including taxes and fees) estimate to replace the muffler and tailpipe. They must think I'm stupid if they think I'd pay that much for them to install an at most $150 worth of parts. Today I brought my chevy avalanche in to have the break pads replaced. The service team called and asked me to come back and look at a serious hazard on my truck. They made sure I saw first hand that I needed new rotors and calipers and break lines. (honestly they could have told me over the phone, the truck is from Michigan, I suspected as much). It says a lot about a shop, who helps drivers see the problem, and where necessary explain it too. That's what makes this team good. But.... Thats not the above and beyond... Thats just good. The above and beyond is that they gave up part of their Saturday night, and stayed late to ensure I got my truck back so I could go to work tonight! Horrible, Horrible place!! We had our Suburban serviced here because they did an awesome job on my other car. Well I don't know if they changed owners since last Nov-Dec 2015 time frame but they did a horrible job recently (March 2016). Charged us for "book" time taken for the work, but didn't take that long, over 4k. Transmission hose they supposedly "replaced" flew off as I was driving (cause they only cut and clamped it back on) and they had to send a tow to pick up my vehicle. I am blessed to have another vehicle to depend on and therefore it didn't keep me from work but had I not, then what?! Barings they replaced are louder now but another mechanic informed us they used the wrong oil for lube and that's why they're loud.. however Midas insisted we needed a new rear-end (SCAM)!!! read more

Last year I got an oil change and noticed I was leaking oil but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I go early May to get another oil change and politely asked if they could make sure the oil was on tight so no oil leak and now it's leaking worse than last year and the man Alex or what not seemed upset in me asking to make sure it was on tight and the mood shifted when I asked to skip the free inspection and other simple questions like I asked how does tire rotations work and he treated me like an idiot and decided not to do a free rotation because it didn't look like I needed one even though I did. Not coming back for an oil change ever that's for sure. A waste of my money. It seemed friendlier last year which is weird it changed. Wish I could get my money back. Also last year they told me my front right ball joint was going to break and it'd cost 200 dollars to fix. Got it inspected at another place and it was the stabilizer that broke only 60 bucks to fix and that the ball joint was perfectly fine. read more
