AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I went for a simple oil change and air pressure check. They tried to up-charge me a ridiculous amount for the oil change. Glad I stopped them before they did it. And they said they checked the air pressure in the tires, but the air was still low on all four tires. When I questioned them about whether they put air in my tires, they said that the problem was my car, not the tires. Their argument was basically that (A) I was mistaken because (B) the air pressure light was broken. I've had my car since 2010. I know my car inside and out. I take excellent care of it. The problem wasn't my car, but the tires. Anyway, driving on 35 after that, got a flat. According to AAA, it was because Midas didn't put any air in the tires. After going to two other places to have my muffler checked because of bad sound . Barry looked into it and discovered that the muffler was fine. It was a rusted flange and he would be able to fix it much cheaper than a muffler replacement. Just had a rough experience here. After waiting an hour and twenty minutes for an oil change, I started to worry that maybe they'd forgotten I was there, so I asked Barry at the desk. I was totally unprepared for how contentious and challenging he'd immediately become. I really tried to be as pleasant and polite as possible, but he seemed to take my asking when my car might be done personally. Out of nowhere, he started screaming loudly and mockingly into the bays at his guys to hurry up because "this woman can't wait! She has important places to be!!!" He also yelled for them to skip all the inspections and checks because, "this lady doesn't have time for those!!!!! (I was still charged for them though. They're listed on my receipt.) It was very uncomfortable and embarrassing. Please trust that I was respectful and genuinely didn't do or say anything to warrant this treatment. I didn't want to escalate along with him. I just wanted to get my car back and get out of there! When it was finally time to check out, Barry took another opportunity to educate me before letting me leave, about how their oil changes take longer because of all the inspections and checks they do. (It was an hour before they they even brought my car into the garage, so I doubt that was the issue.) Regrettably, I'm struggling to imagine Barry scream-mocking a male customer to the staff, or trying to tell to a male customer that an oil change should take an hour and a half. Felt like 1973 up in there. I hate the idea of giving a negative review, but in this case, I think it's worth it if it might save another woman from experiencing this. read more

Barry and his crew were excellent. We were visiting from out of town and they were one of the only places that could immediately fit us in. They were quick, efficient, even had us bring the car back a few days later to double check everything was fine before we headed out on a long road trip. Came here fir the first time a few mo the ago even though the low rating fir a quick oil change. Staff was great and service was as well. So I need new tires I figured I give them a shot. Did a quote online they called to confirm, brought it in at scheduled time and they did a great job and had me out as promised. Pleasant, Honest & Reliable. I went to this Midas to get some brake work done on my Prius and was thrilled with the speedy turnaround time. Not to mention, it was the best price of all the local area shops. While there the manager (Cody) mentioned that I should get my headlight repaired as well. I got the parts, and they were able to get everything good to go before they said they would. Really happy with the service, work and great advice from the staff. 0 stars Actually I brought my car in for an oil change instead of going to Nissisn like I usually do. After my car was done with the oil change, I was rung up & told my total was $60 because "my car only takes synthetic oil". After I questioned it, & said that I have never paid so much for an oil change & have always just had a regular oil change not synthetic oil I was told very rudely & like I was an idiot "of course your car only takes synthetic oil.. it's a 2018" .. Then I showed the man my coupon that was emailed to me which he dismissed... but then charged me $50 something dollars like he was doing a favor but extremely rude about it. I gave him a $100 bill which again I was rudely told "I can't break that" & I explained to him that's all I had with me.. he's response was "I don't know what to tell you" to which the other gentleman nicely said "I can break it for you" ... Overall it was a bad experience & I felt that I was treated like an idiot & rudely & even taken advantage because I am a woman. Not a good experience at all. read more

Avoid this place like the plague! They talked us in to replacing ball joints that Im still not sure we needed to do. Horror stories about our tires wearing away and "anything can happen". But okay, so we get them done and maybe thats helpful but they did a terrible job! Car now pulls hard to the left and the drive shaft is shaking. Very unhelpful when I called back to see what happened. We got duped by this business. Don't let it happen to you! read more

I have gone to this Midas a few times for general maintenance on my SUV but today these guys went above and beyond. I had a late appointment because of work but when I arrived, they were still very pleasant and got started working on my SUV alright away. The gentleman at the front desk as well as the mechanics were very friendly and hardworking. As a bonus, when the job on my suv was complete, the mechanic pulled it right up to the front door! Terrible service and they perform unnecessary work. Definitely take advantage of women. I went in telling them my battery was good but I needed a new alternator. They insisted it was the opposite. So I paid for the battery and labor. I barely got out of the parking lot and my dashboard started lighting up immediately. I turned around and went back. They checked my truck and told me the alternator was bad and my car was not drivable YET THEY HAD JUST LET ME LEAVE 5 MINUTES AGO! So I paid for a battery I didn't need! I have heard people talking in the waiting room about how they reuse OLD oil here. I have over heard the manager telling somebody about how they had employees stealing from customers here. I went 2 the Midas n Wall Township NJ 4 a break job and they told me I needed a front wheel alignment, which they did. My car is now pulling 2 the left, which prior it didn't pull at all. Went back 2 weeks later when I noticed how bad it was pulling and the manager was so unprofessional. He went all around the world trying 2 tell me that I could have hit a pot hole. Really??? No! He wa so shady making all kind of excuses. Super unprofessional and then threw my paperwork at me. Yes! Threw it! So, don't even bother ever going there. Manager has serious anger issues. read more

A two star review; an extra star only because the job was done the same day and that's the only thing that was mutually agreed on that was actually truthful and forthcoming. That being said, I can't help but feel like I got fleeced. I was quoted a month ago and decided to give the shop a chance against my better judgement because the reviews are mostly negative to some degree, unless you look on Google. After I called and told the shop about my previous quote Barry said he would work with me, got me down to "about $500" as opposed to the original $785 quote and he would have the job done the same day. After I agreed, I brought the truck in. Of course, a few hours after I drop off I get a call that the job is gonna be troublesome... Shocking. He tells me he'll do everything he can to honor what we agreed on. Anyway long story short I get my final bill and it was higher than the original quote. After I tried to use a coupon from right off their website, he refused to accept it and says he did everything he could to keep the cost down and that he already was taking a hit because he didn't charge me what he should have (even though we agreed on same day service to get it done) and that he would cut me a deal on a future service. Yeah right, like that will happen. All said it done it was $832 for a driver side manifold repair. Not to mention that on my way out he told me my check engine light was on and he had the mechanic reset the system, just in case it was my o2 sensor, and the light came on immediately upon pulling out of the parking lot. I'm all about a fair deal and no bullshit but I guess I got suckered, and that's ok. I'm no math magician but THAT isn't a deal. I had a 7:30 am appointment so that I could get to work and I sat there for 15 min before they showed up to even open the place. Then they said we don't know why you have a 7:30 appointment. My muffler fell off because of rusted exhaust pipe. This Midas gave me estimate of $680 to replace exhaust pipe and muffler. Brought my car to Meineke in Eatontown and had work done for $300 while keeping the old muffler that did not need to be replaced, just a little extra welding effort. I must say the estimate came with a "the proper way to do it" at the beginning, but when I refused the $$$$ work, no alternatives were given. At least the estimate was free. read more

A once loyal Midas customer will NEVER be returning to Midas ever again due to my experience at this shop. Not only was the front of house representative extremely rude, persistent and pushy; but continued to exude the stigma that mechanics will scam you. To attain an estimate on a repair I was charged to only be told they can "mess with the numbers" to change the cost. I was able to find a estimate that was HALF of the rate they were offering and was then questioned and reprimanded for looking else where. It took over three hours for an oil change and 15 minutes to make a payment. I highly recommend NOT going to this shop. Mind you I have never written a review for anything before, this experience must be shared in WARNING to others who will get ripped off too! read more

They are shady. Went for oil change and tire rotation. Went to pick up car and tires were not rotated. I knew this because I marked them prior. Manager said it would take 20 minutes before he can get it on the lift. The mechanic who didn't rotate the tires sat there and stuffed his face with a big bag of chips and then started to get into it with me. The manager had no regard for his customer getting berated by the big boy mechanic and could of cared less. Don't go here they are dishonest and shady. read more

I went in there the other day to have my 02 sensor replaced. Bill told me if would cost around $400 for the part and $200 for labor. I called auto zone and Napa to see what the part would cost me if I decided to do it myself and they quoted me between $150-160 for the sensor. I can understand marking up the price a little bit but more than double. Avoid this place. They are a bunch of thieves!!!! I went into a local shop and I had the sensor replace for $300!! They just lost my families business and I will make sure to tell everyone I know about what kind of rip off Midas is!! read more

Please BEWARE! My husband had over $2000 worth of work done, 4 brand new tires and brakes. He was traveling to NY and his wheel FELL OFF. He is lucky to be alive. He lost a day of work and had to have a rental car while the car was being repaired AGAIN for 4 days which they are refusing to pay for. The marketing manager is RUDE and doesn't answer his phone or return calls. We are being forced to obtain an attorney for the hundreds of dollars this has put us out between rental cars, towing, repairs, clothing and a lost day of work. Please, you get what you pay for. This repair shop on Rt 35, could be the worst service center ever. Beware, they will try and get you to purchase repairs that your car does not need. Do not fall for it. The work is shoddy. The manager is lazy, sits behind the counter and eats while he is talking to you. I also caught him lying several times. Forget about the one year warranty. If you try to go back with a warranty issue, they will not repair it unless you agree to additional work. The warranty is just a way to try and get the customer to spend more. They are too lazy to even test drive your vehicle. Honestly, going to your dealership will cost less in the end, and save you time. read more

This is my first time writing a review for yelp. I took my car into get an oil change and get quoted for an absurd price on a multitude of things. The auto tech was nice, and the manager too, but after he got my car all quoted up, man did he get pushy, it made me very uncomfortable. I ended up getting a part changed out, because he said it was necessary...well I don't know how necessary it really was because when the sheet that they check everything off on came back, it wasn't checked as being priority. I wasn't shown this sheet until after the services had been paid for. When I picked up my car, the man at the counter was pretty rude. I walked in and stood for a few minutes while he was on the phone, he didn't even notice I was there, and if he did, I was promptly ignored. Then upon checking out, this same guy hurried me along and asked for my method of payment while I was having a conversation with the technician about the repairs. He seemed impatient for me to pay and leave, definitely not welcoming. All in all I won't be returning to Midas, I feel like I've spent way too much money for the service that was provided. Last time I got my oil changed, I pulled out and my windshield wiper fluid light came on, which they were supposed to fill (I then had to turn around and ask them to fill it). I shouldn't of gone back just from that simple task being neglected. I feel like I was over quoted, and possible quoted for too much labor? They told me the job would be done around noon, though I get a call at 10am letting me know it's ready. Now I'm not sure how their labor quoting works, but they charged me the same amount as when they told me 12pm, yet it's ready two hours before with no price change? Usually when quoted by the hour, you pay by how long the service was being used for. Sadly I guess that's not how it works here. read more

Went to see what's what and they tried to sell me on a new part and then upsell me all sorts of factory maintenance items. Took car to another shop, got my maintenance done with no issues. Stay clear of this Midas. Within the last year it's under a new owner and new manager. This is according to the new manager Bill who likes to talk a lot but his brain can't keep pace with his mouth. He would sell you the Brooklyn Bridge if you have cash. I brought my car in for front brakes and rotors after a week they started squeaking brought it back for them to check. The brake expert took 3 hours to figure out that it was the rear brakes but did not offer a solution. But during those 3 hours you learn a lot from a big mouth. Please listen to this warning. This station does not stock one part so when Bill quotes you 4 hours of labor an hour of that time is waiting for the auto parts store to deliver which you are paying for services not rendered. To me that is fraud!! Also the mechanics are young and not experienced so it's trial by error. Do your research before you take your vehicle here. If I could give this place a negative star I would. The worst repair job ever and extremely poor customer interaction from the employees. My husband took his car in there to have the muffler replaced which was suppose to be under warranty from a previous replacement of the exhaust system at a different Midas which he was told the muffler was not included in that warranty. Ok, a few months later my husband took the car to his regular mechanic for a brake job and was told that the muffler was installed completely wrong whereas my husband returned to Midas and informed them he needed the muffler repaired and done the right way this time. The response he received was unbelievably rude and and they acted as if they didn't do anything wrong. Their comment "we'll make it right". Now this week we find a leak in the transmission fluid line and our mechanic believes that Midas could have punctured the line when repairing the muffler. Maybe we should send them the bill???? Save yourself a lot of heartache and stay clear!!!! read more
