Wow! I went into Midas with a Power Steering leak. Due to a road incident years ago, the power steering had a leak, but between the rust and damage from years ago, the assembly needed to be replaced, but that's not All! Nope, Micheal & Wayne identified numerous issues that had not been addressed previously. Michael dug in and fixed so many issues with my Durango that, it's honestly a NEW car! **Review for Midas of Cobb Pkwy S** I recently visited Midas on Cobb Pkwy S for a simple alignment check, and my experience was nothing short of frustrating. Upon arrival, I was made to wait an additional two hours before my vehicle was finally serviced. When they began, I was allowed to watch the process closely, and the mechanic even took my car for a drive. After returning from the test drive, the mechanic told his supervisor that I needed a new control arm. This immediately raised red flags for me, so I asked if I could take videos and photos to document the issue. The mechanic claimed that the bushing wasn't supposed to move, which I agree with--but the bushing wasn't moving. What was moving was the rubber housing, which the mechanic tried to pass off as a sign that the entire assembly was failing. Based on this, they refused to do the alignment. To get a second opinion, I took my vehicle to my trusted mechanic and later to Firestone. Both confirmed that there was nothing wrong with my lower control arm. What Midas saw moving was simply the rubber bushing, which is expected to move when the entire steering column is wiggled. Despite this, I was charged $75 to be told a false diagnosis. Midas then attempted to charge me $1,000 for a new lower control arm and an additional $400 for labor and alignment. I'm beyond disappointed in this experience and feel like they tried to scam me into unnecessary repairs. I strongly advise anyone considering this Midas location to think twice before going there. Avoid this place. Bait and switch. They quote me a price for an oil change over the phone and then raise it when I'm there. They say my chevy needs a "special" oil filter (bull). I asked why they didn't tell me this before hand and the reply was they hadn't seen the vehicle. Really? I already provided them the year, make, and model. The guy then says he didn't have the VIN. After recently showing up at 8am for my appt. there were 2 other customers waiting at door. the person drove up 10 minutes late to open up- Then, after showing the attendant (owner?) the exact repair to be made, he said that they need to charge a fee to diagnose the problem. I said please just replace the tube that's leaking, and I will waive any other leaks etc. so he didn't have to worry about their guarantee. He said no- so I agreed to the $75 fee and he gave me an estimate for the exact thing I asked him to fix. I later had 2 other estimates done by others and one was $378 less. In addition to that I noted the price he quoted for parts was a markup of approx. 4 times the price I could buy it at a parts store- Not very pleased !!! 2 stars is probably too generous read more

I am usually pretty hesitant to take my new car to a big box place for maintenance service, however, I was in need of an oil change and tire rotation, so I stopped into this Midas location and they were able to take me immediately. They did the oil change, an inspection, and rotated the tires as I asked them to do. They also offered to check the balance of the tires and balance whichever tires needed it for a small upcharge. They found 2 of the tires needed rebalancing, which I felt was very reasonable. They also have a program where you get so many oil changes and get your card stamped and you get a free one. I'll definitely come back to this location for oil changes. read more

I had one good visit here, (see previous review) and one scam. I'm finally getting around to writing this updated review as it seems Midas will do nothing to honor my complaint. Last year I came by for a diagnosis of my car, as I had some problems with my oil pressure. I was told a full check costs $100, which is fairly typical, and I decided to go ahead knowing that money would serve as part of the payment if I decided to finish the job at Midas. After the mechanics inspected my car they told me I had a problem with my timing belt (which was brand new, replaced 5,000 miles prior) and oil pressure sensor. They quoted me a price that would have totaled my car, and I was fairly skeptical of their report, so I politely declined, figured my $100 lost, and decided to go up the street to Marietta Volvo to get another opinion. I had to shell out another $120 for a diagnosis, which was fine, but the problem was that they didn't come to any of the same conclusions that Midas offered me. Instead of quoting me a price that totaled my car, they promised to fix it at a fraction of the cost. They also told me my timing belt looked perfectly fine and that the oil pressure sensor was completely OK. So, precisely the parts Midas told me were broken, were actually looking fine! I left the car with the dealer, picked it up two days later, and over a year later it's still running fine. I've been in contact with Midas and their national support center this past year trying to get my $100 back, as their diagnosis did not match the actual problem. Isn't that the honest thing to do when you've made a mistake? I've been given the emails of 3 or 4 different people to contact about this problem and have gone months on end without hearing anything back until I'm the one who reaches out again (only to be told to contact yet another person). As I stated in the previous review, I liked the work Midas did, and if they honored my request and admitted their fault of giving me a poor estimate on parts that didn't need to be replaced, I would continue to bring my car here for service. But now, I'm happy to pay extra anywhere else as long as I'm not supporting Midas. Loyal Midas customer for years until 2017. They won the battle and got my $100 in a scam, but ultimately lost the war with this customer. I strongly encourage you to skip on this repair chain. read more

I literally got into a shouting match with the technician Damien (I think that's his name) because he refused to repair something that was supposed to be fixed without trying to charge me again. At one point he tried to make me fix it myself in the parking lot. I finally got one of the other mechanics to look at it and turns out I was right. Also Prior to that I specifically told him about an issue with the power steering pulley. Damien ignored that and after the job was done I broke down less than two miles away from Midas because of the pulley. Half the things I requested to be done he never wrote down. He forgot to do some things and I get the feeling he told me not to do other services I requested because he was unqualified to do them. As I said before, I had a shouting match with him in front of other customers over something that was his fault. I thought I could trust Midas because they are nationwide and I'd get a warranty. I just went in for an inspection on my brakes, expecting them to need replacing after I was told at the dealership they were in the "yellow". However, found out they were looking better than I expected. The kind gentleman working on my car even brought me out to show me what to look for when the brakes are wearing thin. I came here for a $17.99 oil change + tire rotation (advertised price outside, no coupon needed). Everyone was very courteous and helpful. They explained recommended services but never pressured me to get them. They said I needed a new air filter (and even brought it to me to show how dirty it was), but my husband said he had one at home. They said the next time I got an oil change, to bring the air filter and they'll pop it in for free. I also brought my 5 week old infant and was very comfortable. The waiting area and bathroom was very clean. I like how the wall between the waiting area and garage is glass so you can see what they are doing to your car. The only con I could think of was that it took about an hour, maybe a little longer. I think they were checking my car pretty thoroughly. I came around 10:30am on a weekday and it wasn't busy. BEWARE: DON'T USE MIDAS STORE #912!!!!! I have went to Midas for years, and never had issues until I used this location. Midas as a whole is not bad, just this specific location. See my full explanation below, but in short - I went for a service to my passenger window switch, they switched out a part, and now NO OTHER FUNCTIONS on my door work but the switch. When I asked about it, they simply said "our fault but we're not covering. Your Warranty people should've covered it." See Full explanation below: On 9/19/17, Midas Store #912 (1764 Cobb Parkway S.) was to repair my 2010 Buick Lucerne passenger window switch. My window rolled up in 2.5 second increments, so this process was repeated until it was all the way up. All the other door functions (rolls down, seat warmers, lock/unlock, remote lock/unlock) worked just fine. The Manager Tim called & confirmed this would be covered under my extended warranty, so I wouldn't have to pay anything. When I picked up my car, NO FUNCTIONS on my passenger door worked EXCEPT the window. He said just take it to Buick and they will program it. When I finally was able to get to Buick, they told me it would be $110 to fix. When I went back to Midas, Allen was the new manager and referred me to talk with Asst Manager Damian. Damian called a guy to see if he could come to the shop to program the car, and the guy confirmed he could. Damian then told me to check if my Warranty will cover the cost, as Midas does not do programming. I called my Warranty company who said they do not cover programming. but that the manager Tim called in the day it was fixed to ask for it, and they told him at that time that it was not covered. I went back to Damian who didn't budge on his decision, and told me to contact the District Manager Eric. Eric and I called the Warranty company on conference who confirmed that it is not covered, and also confirmed the manager was told this the day he fixed it. We disconnected from the Warranty company, and he said they would not cover it because "the warranty company should cover it". I explained that has nothing to do with me, as I was very clear on my initial visit that I didn't want this fixed if would cost me anything. Furthermore, I stated the manager should have called me the minute he found out that it WOULD cost me, so I could have declined the service and kept my initial defective part. Eric said he believes there was a miscommunication between the manager and the warranty company (acknowledging Midas at fault) but refused to fix. read more

40 bucks to weld one small weld on my muffler. Also the guy put added stress on my clutch by riding the clutch from the parking spot to the stall. Ran my car up at such high RPMS for no reason while riding my clutch. Then the guy tells me that my clutch is worn. Of course you just revved my car and road the clutch all the way into the stall for no freaking reason putting added stress on my car. Now my clutch feels more and more worn. Will probably never go here again. Added note to you guys. If you have an older car be gentle with it. Dont rev the car up at such high RPMS for no reason. On that note They did fix the muffler and found a few leaks, but I could of went to a muffler shop and did that same job for 20$$ bucks. read more

The first visit was great. Made an appointment for a second oil change/tire rotation, got there and was told they didn't have the oil my car needed - they ran out that morning. However, it will be in on Tuesday (4 days later). Went in on Tuesday, and was told the oil hadn't arrived. My questions are: (1) why didn't you look ahead on your calendar for the first appointment and notify me that you didn't have the oil? (2) why didn't you look ahead on your calendar for the second visit and notify me the oil still wasn't in. Promised that they would call when the oil arrived............still waiting - not holding my breath. This is a common oil. read more

This place is the best and made sure my car would make it home to Missouri. I had a terrible experience somewhere else, got a oil change and battery replacement. The next day my check engine light turned on and my car was shaking. They refused to double check the work without me paying $100. I got to Midas, explained my situation, and they said they would get me taken care of. They looked at my car and found the oil cap was not on tight enough and that is what caused the problem. I was on the road within 45 minutes. I wish I could go here whenever I need to get work done on my car. They are friendly, understanding, and super professional. I came in for a scheduled oil change but unfortunately my appointment was messed up and it took more than 2 hours to get everything taken care of. Now most people would be angry and initially I was a bit frustrated. Frank is the manager and he more than made it up to me. The customer service is hands down the best I have ever had. He apologized for the wait and comped my oil change, changed my air filter and gave me a rear windshield wiper. This type of service is unheard of these days. Given that they were so polite and friendly, I would come back regardless of the free oil change. That part was just a huge bonus! Stay away from this place!!!! 1764 Cobb Parkway,Marietta. I had my car towed there on Thursday for repairs. Spoke to Wayne initially told him I was a truck driver and wouldn't be able to pick my car up until I got back in town. He said that was fine it would be no problem. So I had my car towed there. On Friday the next day he calls me and tells me my car was ready and was demanding payment over the phone! I told him we already spoke about the fact that I was a truck driver and I will be out two weeks before I could get back. And he didn't have a problem with that. No one pays for repair work on their car without seeing the work that was done first!! He was upset and stated that he had vendors to pay!! Paying vendors has nothing to do with me!! So then he decided that he would hold my car till the 14th and after that he would charge storage. I said that was fine I'll be back in town by the 10th. Two days ago on the 25th I was called by the Marietta Police Department and told that my car had been stolen from inside the building at Midas!! Midas never called me to tell me that my car was stolen!! I called Midas after I was told by the police that my car was stolen and then it was confirmed by Eric the District Manager that yes indeed my car had been stolen!! It took them two days to report my car being stolen!! It was stolen on Sunday I was told!! And they didn't report it to the police until Tuesday!! Also they stole my car from inside of the building by breaking a window in the bay doors and taking my car no alarm was even sound!!! This is just very strange to me!! Now I have no car!!! Stay away from this place!! Wanted to give a zero rating but it wouldn't let me!! I'm thinking about calling the news stations because this is totally unacceptable!!! read more

I would not recommend this Midas location even if it was the last shop on earth. I went in to have my car service, after noticing that my car wasn't driving as smooth as it use to drive on rough pavement. I told the front manager that I need Struts on my car. The manager had an employee test drive the car and then they put the car up on the lift to check out the problem. The manager told me that I didn't need Struts, and that what I need to do is to replace 4 Tire sway Bars and that by doing so, it will greatly improve the smoothness with the car. Now, thinking that by him being a manager and a service advisor, he would give me his professional and expert advice, I went ahead and changed the tire bars. I waited there for my car to be serviced for approximately 4 hours, only to be told that my car still have the same noise and feeling, with driving on rough pavement. They still charged me $640.41 for a problem that they (1) did not fix. (2) Did not improve base on their own diagnostics of changing the tire bars instead of changing the Struts. I am left with the car feeling and sounding the same way. I tried to pacifier the situation by speaking to their customer service department and by speaking to their district manager, however, all complains fell on deaf ears. They offered no real solution to solve my issue, in order to ensure a wonder guest experience. They showed no sense of urgency from a customer service point of view, to show that they welcome and value my complain. And they prove to me that the old adage that stated that the, "The Customer is always right," to be not true in the eyes of their company. Shame on you Midas! read more

I came in because I damaged my flex pipe. Tim told me it couldn't be replaced and I had to purchase a new catalytic converter to replace it for $900.00.
