Do not trust service at this dealership. I came in for an AC service (Accord mileage 45,829) and was told I needed multiple repairs, including an immediate repair needed for a leaking valve cover gasket and shouldn't drive, so I caved and had it done. I never had problems with oil prior to this "repair," but now my vehicle needs oil added every 2 months! Clearly they have damaged my vehicle. They also said I needed other repairs, such as a hose replacement and said they found hoses cracked/swollen, which is untrue. My niece came here to get her oil changed. While she was waiting, a salesman came up to her and got her to play along and pretend she was buying a car. Convinced her to test drive a car, and at the end of it, he tried to kiss her. She rebuked him, so he discounted the cost of her oil changed I guess to stop her from saying anything. She is 18 years old, and he was in his 30s. She refused to tell me his name so as not to get him in trouble but that is disgusting behavior, inappropriate and unprofessional. read more

We bought a 2025 Honda CRV - in less than a year, the side view mirror and trim started melting (see pictures). Worst part is they will blame it on "environmental" factors and refuse to fix it under the warranty or goodwill policy. They quoted us $787.86 to get this repaired. At the time that we purchased the car, we bought their full warranty - absolutely useless (in my opinion) since they determined it to not be a "warrantable defect." They do quality service, but charge top dollar. Not the best value. Big complaint is they are extremely aggressive on pushing milage/year-based maintenance that exceeds the manufacture recommendations, and then list potential symptoms of age instead of actual condition. See vehicle manual for actual maintenance intervals and when in doubt get a second opinion at a different shop. read more

Nine years ago, I wrote a great five star review for Gwinnett Place Honda. It's disappointing that today my review is three stars, but I simply have not had great interactions at Gwinnett Place Honda recently. On average, they're good, and multiple recent ones haven't even been that. I've bought two cars from this place, and the recent second purchase was because, pre-Covid, the team was fantastic. There are some great people who have been here for a long time. I know there are still good people here, but the negative interactions have added up over recent years. I've repeatedly asked not to be contacted by phone by people proactively looking to set up oil changes I don't need yet. I still get those calls, and now I get salesy service text messages too. Service is now a very expensive, less customer friendly experience that seems more focused on reaching out to schedule service than to spend time informing you about what services your car needs. A quick look at my credit card shows that my pre-Covid oil change for my wife's Honda Fit was 31.78 after tax. My Honda Pilot was more, but it always made sense to me that my big SUV was a more expensive oil change than my wife's small compact car. Today that oil change is the same price and oil change for my Honda Pilot and Honda Fit, north of $75 before the service specialist gave me a small discount after asking. I know things have gotten more expensive, but I don't understand why a small car that was always cheaper than my big car and somewhat recently cost less than half of that, so I asked why. I was told "that's what the system changed to in January." A manager told me "the service manager isn't available right now, but he'd be able to explain it." There were some *great* service agents that worked here back in the day, and the pricing wasn't crazy. Unfortunately, the service agent turnover is pretty high, and price on things like my Fit's oil change are 250% of what they were pre-Covid. My current visit had roughly $2000 of "Will Require Further Attention" items, and the service agent did not bother going over what, when and why when I picked up the car. The sales department has its own challenges. They add Lojack, tint, mud guards and wheel locks to their cars and charge a high $949 Dealer Administrative Charge. That's not all they add, but they'll tell you that each of those is non-negotiable. That's not to say you can't negotiate a reasonable Kelley Bluebook number, but the Dealer Included Options significantly jack up the starting price. The negotiation is a bit more pressure and sweating you and less friendly than the Gwinnett Place Honda I bought from in 2016. One constant is that the salespeople and the service people will tell you that you'll get a survey and that they would like you to give them all 10s. They are clearly being graded based on those surveys, and are focused on trying to make sure you understand they need high marks. Gwinnett Place Honda was never cheap, and always had dealer add-ons, but they used to feel very customer focused, both in the service team and the sales team. Today, it feels like some business person focused on growing their CAGR for both sales and service, and is more interested in revenue and profit than customer experience. They're certainly pushing outbound texts and outbound service appointment calls, while service experiences have droped in quality. They seem more focused on growing the profit and bottom line than the relationship with the customer. I do think there are some good people here, but it's hard to feel good about the quality of my recent aggregate experiences while paired with the significant increase in cost that was only explained as "that's what's in the system as of 2025". I see an increase in energy and activity in reaching out to customers to set up service appointments even after the customer has asked not to be reached out to, while there's a drop in energy and service level for services that have gotten more expensive. That's just my $0.02. I miss the Gwinnett Place Honda of yesteryear. read more

I've been a customer here for nearly **8 years** (purchased our Honda Pilot in **July 2018**) and continued servicing here despite living closer to another Honda dealer. That loyalty ended this week due to a serious communication and authorization failure. On **Wednesday, 1/28**, I brought my wife's Pilot in for the **100k service**. The initial estimate was **$3,100**. Later that day, I received a revised quote for **$4,100**, which I **approved via Honda's text authorization link at 3:22 PM**. After approval, **no one contacted me** to advise of any further price change. My wife picked the vehicle up on **Thursday, 1/29**, and was charged **$5,100**--**$1,000 more than the approved amount**. There was **no call, no verbal authorization, and no notice** prior to pickup. Compounding the issue, **there was no way to view or retrieve the approved estimate, line-item summary, or authorization documents afterward via the text system**, leaving no visibility into what changed or why. When I raised the issue, the service manager stated the work "should have been" around **$6,200** and that I was "helped out" by being charged $5,100. That explanation does not address the core issue: **charging more than the authorized amount without customer approval or transparency**. The service manager called me on **Friday, 1/30**, confirmed everything was "documented," and declined to make any adjustment, despite nearly **8 years of service history and zero prior complaints**. This is not a pricing dispute--it's a **process and trust failure**. I've taken my business elsewhere and recommend Honda corporate review this dealership's **authorization, documentation access, and communication practices**. read more

I would go there to get my oil changed regularly but since I had so many bad experiences there I take my care to an establishment on Pleasant Hill and I love them. Decided to come to Gwinnett Place Honda because they had the most variety on the lot, family purchased their cars here, and a convenient location. FYI, all these dealerships will call and email you constantly the moment you input your information in. I had Marcelin Holloway assisted me and I'm so glad that he did. Gwinnett Place Honda is my preference for servicing my 11-year-old Honda. They've always treated me kindly and are honest about pricing. The one time I had an issue (dispute over a service), we resolved it fairly. They cared about keeping me as a customer because it's the only place I've taken my car. I now live in a new city; the first Honda service center was rude just from my general inquiries over the phone, and the second one's prices were much higher! If I could give zero stars, I would. The entire experience, up to over 3 weeks after the purchase, was cumbersome at best. To be fair, Raythony Bobe was respectful and kind the entire time. He is a sweet kid and you should be happy to have him. Tammy was also great and wanted to try to make things better, though it was not possible. The main issue I have was with your managerial staff; chiefly with Jamal Gunn. They say that car dealerships are roughest on women, and though I had prepared for that, I was not prepared for being held hostage with my dying mother's car key not being given back to me after the trade in vehicle inspection so I could not leave, on top of being gaslighted, objectified, laughed at for asking simple repairs history questions, and bullied the entirety of my visit. I was there over 4 hours. Another staff member said to me that 'I may as well work there at that point'... The amount of "deliberation" was unreal. The biggest issue of the day was when manager Jamal Gunn stepped in. His demeanor was condescending and manipulative from the start. He kept undercutting me, interrupting me, and was the biggest gaslighter of them all. He ignored my requests for my car key back multiple times when I had had enough and was going to walk after that experience. They made a huge error by not clarifying that I had to have a GEORGIA title to trade it in with a credit, but never stated that. I had never traded in a car so I had no clue. My trade in was in my name since I paid for it and the back of the title had it signed over to me in my name; I had her signature to confirm. They never once asked to see it during the process, to make sure that was what they needed. SO, we agreed on an amount with a tax credit and I signed for it. THEN, a financial manager comes to tell me that that the credit wasn't possible, and I said I wanted to leave if that was the case because it was obviously not meant for me to have the car if I had to spend $1k I didn't have. Well, Jamal comes back in saying I don't know how you can't see we are trying to help you here and we already cut you a great deal but this is just adding the tax back... I told him I could only do the original deal or I would need to leave and I wanted my key back, yet again. He just kept trying to mansplain why it wouldn't be possible, why their deal was just already way too fair, and all "Do you understand how much we are trying to help you here, for your best interest?", and made fun of me for wanting my key back. They were asking me to eat the financial mistake they made. Jamal came back once again with an incorrect number, and I solidified again that I wanted to leave, and that I was tired. I was almost in tears at this point, exhausted, but I kept defending myself and finally after one of his jabs and people started to stare at us, I said I would be writing a review online about how he treats women at this dealership. That's when he said "Just give her her key-". That's when I found out Ray had the key in his pocket the whole time along with my registration. Jamal then turned and made a last 'do you want the car or not for the original deal.' I should have just taken my key and walked, but I had invested so much time and effort, so I said give me the paperwork. He really left a sour impression, and this whole thing was so unprofessional. It was embarrassing... people were watching this whole thing happen. Not to mention, 3 weeks after that, I started getting a couple calls (around 8:45 at night, mind you) because they claimed there was an error with the title, when there never was such error. They had not even submitted the title paperwork to the state. They just made a misunderstanding on their end about who owned the car, and wanted said dying mother to go to the DMV to get a duplicate title, AFTER making her sign other documents she never needed to in the first place. I shut that down, showing them again that I was the title owner, and they finally let it go. They got my title work going the next day. Funny how that magically happened. To top it all off, neither the GM David Kwon nor corporate ever responded to my emails giving them this feedback. I had emailed once a week since I purchased the vehicle. All anyone wants is to be acknowledged, for accountability to be taken, and reassured it won't happen again. That was thrown out the window here. read more

Been taking my car here for a few years & they are pretty attentive. It's best to make an appointment before going in because it gets busy. There are 2 waiting rooms. 1 is attached to the right side of the building. There is coffee & bathrooms located in this area. The other is a trailer outside of the Service Area. Looked a little tight in the trailer to me. I opted for the picnic tables outside near the Service Area entrance. Took about 5 mins for someone to come ask if I was being helped. Cozvy was the Tech who helped me most recently. I brought 2 cars at once & he took care of me & was pleasant to talk to. For an oil change, tire rotation 9-point inspection wait time was about 1 hr. Honda also changed the battery in my key fob. Something I've been meaning to do for a few months now. Thanks, Honda! In the past, I've had them offer to drive me back to work but this particular day I wasn't working. I haven't had any issues with servicing my cars here & no one has been pushy with repair recommendations. read more

Tyonne & Zachary Redeemed Ya'll! I previously had the WORST experience here last Spring from a mishap between shifts with my car getting forgotten about. The manager was the rudest, biggest A**hole, more than the associates (4 stars for him if he still works there)... FFWD to 2021 and these 2 guys really hooked it up. Some of the issues from 2020 are still there, as I can tell with some of the staff, but nonetheless I have more confidence in bringing my car here as it is a Honda and is just easier to get it serviced here. Zachary was my last appointment of 2020 and was just a str8 fwd guy and very intuitive. I needed to get some work done on my car to include new tires and he was the 1st one to EVER write me a quote. Other associates would advise I needed it done but never print a quote. He even personalized the service by educating me on a brand named Laufenn tires and telling me the performance rating is high and the price is softer on the pockets. FFWD to March, and I ended up getting some additional work done to include Tires! I went for Michelin Tires as I had the extra money and ended up getting more service work done to my car which was MUCH needed. Tyonne was very thorough didn't come off intimidating to drain my pockets and even gave gave me a coupon. Afterall, I did spend $1,500 with them that day. Also, he provided me with a rental. I've gotten my car serviced here for about 7 years and nobody has ever done that. Some appointments even have taken well over 2/3 hours. I didn't leave the parking lot before I noticed a noise. sounding like my tire was wobbling. when I took the vehicle back they told me they were going to take care of the tire replacement but to come back the next day. when I came back they blamed me for the nail and tried to charge me 300 dollars for a new tire! This review strictly applies to the SERVICE DEPARTMENT, as I had an amazing sales experience during the purchase process... Heads up, very lengthy review, which in itself should show how extremely unacceptable, unprofessional and unpleasant my experience was. I made a 7:00 AM appointment for my new vehicle. The tire was not maintaining air pressure.  I explained that I'd fill the tire,  and shortly after,  the low pressure light would come on.  I made arrangements to drop off my vehicle prior to going in to work.  I explained to the technician the issue I was having.  He never asked me to exit the vehicle.  He had me turn the wheel as he simply looked at the tire.  He then had another technician check the pressure and add air.  I was told to "just keep an eye on it".  Not even 5 miles down the road,  the light came back on.  I continued on to work,  as it was closer.  I did not get the name of those 2 techs. After work, I called the shop. The issue could've been addressed had they kept the vehicle and thoroughly inspected it at my appointed time.  I told them I would be bringing the vehicle in again the following morning.  They told me no,  they were booked for the day.  They dropped the ball by not taking care of the issue in the beginning,  then they tell me that I have to wait to bring it back in.  Completely unacceptable.  I asked for a manager.  At first they told me there was not one.  They placed me on hold, then told me they'd have Jae call me. To this day,  I'm still waiting for Jae to call me back... While awaiting Jae's never received call,  I called the shop again,  as it was near closing.  I was placed on hold again and then sent to the voice mail of Ronnie. To my surprise,  considering how this had been handled thus far,  Ronnie did call me back the same day.  He was calm and professional.  He listened, told me to bring in the vehicle the next morning and to ask for him personally.   I was greeted by Myanh Nguyen and she called over Ronnie, as I'd asked.  They were both accommodating and pleasant.  Myanh took my information and provided me a shuttle to work.   When I returned to pick up my vehicle,  I interacted with Orlando.  He was patient and helpful.   I went outside and noticed there were scratches on the driver side doors and on the rear of the vehicle. Those scratches were not there when I dropped it off.  I went back inside and asked for Ronnie,  but he'd left for the day.  I was directed to Jae. Here the nightmare picked back up...   Jae walked out to the vehicle with me and looked at the marks.  He then began to tell me that the marks had already been there because there was dirt on them. Do you mean to tell me that a scratch can't occur on an area that has dust or dirt on it...? In any case,  that was a lie. There was no dirt on the scratch because I'd already wiped over the area before I went back in to the shop,  to see if they were surface or actually in the paint.  I could not get them off.  He literally stood outside, argued with me, talked over me and went back and forth with me that the scratches had to have already been there.  He then says that they were not scratches,  they were scuffs and that he could remove them.  He pulls the vehicle back into the bay, returns with some spray and began to remove the marks from the paint.  In the process of doing so,  he also removed some adhesive residue from where the dealer sticker had once been.  He then comes back to tell me that the "scratches" on the car were probably adhesive like from where that sticker was. So now he's really reaching and he's insulting my intelligence in the process.  They were straight,  black marks.  Nothing about them made you think they would possibly be adhesive. And who puts stickers around their car like that?  So he's steadily talking over me, arguing and trying to go back and forth. He continues giving me his opinion on what the marks could be.  So finally I told him, I don't care what the marks are,  they weren't there when I brought in my car and they're not going to be there when I leave.  During this exchange, right in front of me,  another male employee walked over and asked Jae if he was ready, like I wasn't even standing there.  The demeanor and tone in the statement was as if to say,  are you still dealing with this?! Let's go... When I purchased my vehicle in July,  I went on all platforms and gave Gwinnett Place Honda 5 star praise. I recommended GPH to all of my social media friends and followers.  My sales team and purchase experience were incredible. However,  this most recent encounter has me amending those reviews.  Why would I put my name behind purchasing a vehicle here if this is what one has to deal with when servicing that vehicle? This was a very unforgettable experience and I do not mean that in a good way.  It was extremely inconvenient  and unprofessional. read more

It was an absolute pleasure working with Deja at Gwinnett Place Honda on the purchase of our 2025 Honda Pilot Elite. She obtained my contact information when I filled out the form in the website for more info. Over the next few weeks she patiently reached out to touch base and let me know what was available in their inventory that matched what we wanted. She was never pushy, just supportive in our search. Once we were ready for a test drive (but not yet a purchase) we scheduled an appointment with her. Upon arrival she had everything ready for us. She was obviously extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle, answering any questions we answered thoroughly. She did a wonderful job going over the various features and comparing different trims. We actually ended up making a purchase yesterday although we weren't planning on it, and that was entirely because of Deja. Not from her pressuring us, but from her making us confident about the purchase. We had to leave to pick up our kids from school and return, she coordinated everything and was very patient. She ended up staying at work late to accompany us throughout the entire process, and even tried to stop and help us set up features on the way to her car when she saw us outside. She went above and beyond during the entire process, with outstanding professionalism and expert knowledge. It was so refreshing to work with her after several trips to various dealerships and speaking to sales staff that were not knowledgeable of the vehicles they were selling. Thank you Deja!! We brought it back here and a worker here took it for a ride and we told him there was noise but it didn't do any sound when he drove. This review is solely for the service department, as I purchased my Honda from a family member and drove it over from Colorado. There was a wobbling noise that I was experiencing when driving it here in Atlanta, so I took it in and Brandon Wood was my Service Advisor. He basically got me registered, and set me up with a courtesy ride back to my house (I live about 5 miles away from the dealership) within minutes. Upon inspection of my car, Brandon was patient with me as I looped in my brother, since I wanted him to hear about the issue and discuss what the potential options were going to be.There was no issues with upselling, or pressure to do anything more than discuss what the possible choices I had are and what I wanted to do moving forward. I'm sure it was annoying to have two guys conference calling him on a busy Monday to talk about servicing a car that wasn't really sold by that particular dealership, but I found it refreshing to have a frank discussion with a service advisor and not think that I was getting taken advantage of. In fact, once I get the car finished up and ready to go- I think it makes sense that I will be using this local dealership for my service needs from this point forward. I'd like to recognize Brandon for exceptional work today, and also getting me back on the road without breaking the bank. Except for this one experience and Brandon was key in making my visit and experience a happy one. It was for an oil change, with rotation and I was in, out , under 30 minutes. Sure it was a routine thing, and low complexity but it was a Saturday. And this place is packed on Saturdays. Brandon managed to get paperwork done, and before I even left his booth, my car was already moved from the reception area, and into the work area. You may say this is typical, but he was key to making it happen. He ran up to to the 'valet' and relayed directions quickly. This one move put my car in queue for service asap. He could have just left it there, and let the valet get to it whenever, but he made the effort to catch the valet guy and got my car into service while he finished the paperwork.. Multitasking at its best. In about 20mins, he called me back and gave me a heads up that the car will be out in a few minutes. I take it that Brandon went back there to check on the car, and came back out to give me a call. This is great. I barely had time to finish that cup of coffee. A few minutes later, I stopped by his station and he had my bill and papers ready. After advising me about the tire thread and giving me a quote for my scheduled maintenance.. and the keys came back to his station. Again, another testament of Brandon's ability to multitask and getting thing ready before I had to wait any longer. Its the small things like this, but I appreciate Brandon not making me wait any longer than I had to. This visit went like clockwork.. not a minute wasted. Customer service excellence. Two weeks ago a Truck Tow man came to take my car from front of my house and i talked with him for what reason you taking my car from me, he told me this car stolen from FL and someone sold the Gwinnet Honda Place and you have to Return your car back to Gwinnet Place Honda, i was called the Police , the cops told me too you have to go to your dealership tomorrow , i went to Gwinnet Place Honda my seller told me that car not a stolen car but yesterday morning i was about to go work at 6am when i went out I didn't see my car in parking lot. So ofc i suspected that Truck tow man i did called them they told me your car is in Jackson International Airport parking garage. I went there i called the cops thats cops told me this car was stolen from FLORIDA, im waiting for two day to get my car or return my down payment back. i will never ever buy again from Gwinnet Honda Place a car. im fired from my work yesterday. WARNING: Do not buy a used car from this location. I recently bought a used Honda fit from this location and feel completely scammed, they sold me the car with major engine damage without disclosing this. The day after I purchased, I came to pickup the car. When I started it, the engine made a loud grinding/rattling sound upon starting it that it had not made during any of the test drives. It was really concerning because the car had not made this noise during any of the multiple times I test drove it. Over the course of the next few days I noticed a pattern that it would not make the sound if starting the engine after recent use but only on a cold start when the car had been sitting for about 8 hours or more. After some research I discovered that this was a faulty VTC actuator, a major component of the engine that would need to be replaced (around a $1300 repair). The reason I did not notice this problem any of the times I test drove the car is because they would start the car in a location away from me and then drive it up to the main building for me to test drive. Since the grinding/rattling sound only occurs on cold starts I never heard it during test drives. There is absolutely no way they did not hear the sound themselves and were not aware of the issue. It's a jarring and obviously bad sound. Honda put out a service bulletin in 2017 about this being a problem in both 2015 and 2016 Honda Fits so it's a well known issue. There are only two possible conclusions to draw from the facts: either Gwinnett Place Honda was fully aware of this major engine defect when they sold it to me without telling me, or their service department just doesn't know what they're doing and they didn't think this grinding/rattling was an issue. They either intentionally sold me a car without disclosing major engine damage, or their service department is not skilled enough to catch a defect that even I as someone who knows nothing about cars caught immediately. They even told me the engine was in perfect condition when I interviewed them about the car, and they declared it Hendricks certified giving it a 3 month powertrain warranty. Thank god the warranty covered the engine but this is disgusting, completely unethical for them to have certified and sold me a car that needed a major component of the engine replaced even before they sold it. I gave them a chance to fix the situation and requested that they extend the warranty to 1 full year since this VTC actuator problem is known to cause other issues down the line. They refused to extend the warranty and told me that I could pay them an extra 2,000 dollars to extend it myself! More money that the repair itself cost. I'm furious. read more

Lack of integrity. After nearly a week of no return phone calls and emails from the used car sales manager (Curtis Simmons), I finally spoke with a used car sales person who transferred me to the internet sales manager, (Joseph Yim). I explained to Joseph that I am a used car sales manager in Kansas and wanted to workout a wholesale deal for an employee on a unit that was 70+ days in inventory. I was told that they didn't do Dealer to Dealer wholesale deals. After several days and several emails between Joseph and my manager, Joseph informed us that they would do the deal. After agreeing to the terms via a phone conversation, Joseph informed me that he would mark the vehicle as "SOLD", email me a Buyers Order to sign and email back, get a transportation quote from their transporter, and overnight the remaining docs that needed to be signed. My dealership was busy and I informed him of that and told him I would look over the docs, sign and send back once I was free to do so. I sent back what was requested and would wait for the overnight delivery of the other docs. At 8:14pm, I received an email from Joseph's personal email, informing me that after "patiently" waiting for me to return the signed Buyers Order and copy of DL, by the time I sent them back(4:44pm CST), they sold the vehicle to another buyer. As a salesman myself, if I tell a buyer that I am going to mark a vehicle sold, send docs overnight for signature and get a transportation quote, my word is solid and that is exactly what I do. Joseph and his sales associates didn't want to do this wholesale deal in the very beginning, got an opportunity to sell the vehicle with all the fees, and that's what he did.
