    GO We came here for the annual New York State inspection. The waiting area is non air conditioned lacking proper ventilation for clients to bask in a sweltering hot room while waiting for their vehicle to be serviced, ayia! YIELD A well displayed signage of "New York State Inspection pass or fail $37.00" informs clients of the fee incurred, yet without giving status to prevent eternal waiting. The waiting area is in a dilapidated yet outdated state of disrepair. STOP There is no gold here if one is seeking to touch objects in hopes of turning to gold. Customer service is adequate to get the job done in servicing the car yet there is no solid substance here.

    Plenty of pad on rotor. If you know what youre looking at youll see it and know what his goal was.

    Just left Midas after waiting for 40 min for an inspection just for a mechanic to come out to my truck in the parking lot and look at my wheels and tell me i needed brakes or I wont pass inspection. When I looked, I can see I had about 1/4" meat left on my rear pads and O showed him that, but he walked away from me. Im not a novice about mechanical issues, ive done my own brakes a few times amongst other things when I had a garage full of tools. He didnt even properly put the truck on the lift to prove it or properly check. He rudely walked away from me when I told him I see pad. I felt as though he saw I was a woman and that was his was of trying to squeeze a few hundred out of me.

    Came here to get a second opinion after pep boys tried to tell me I had bad rear shocks and tires…read moreand threatened to not pass my nys inspection. Tried to charge me $1600 . This mechanic took a look at it and said I didn't need work on the shocks and that my tires would be good for approximately another year. For a female that always runs into a problem with mechanics trying to swindle me I find great comfort that I found this establishment. Fung is a great mechanic and really is a one man show. I drove my car to his shop by 10:30am on a Wednesday to find him working on two other cars. I pulled into the bay and thought there was someone else aiding him in the office; to my surprise there was just him. I left my car in the car bay and waited on the sidewalk for him to finish up the other two cars. There is a small seating area inside but due to covid-19 it cannot seat two people. Before I knew it, the cars inside were backing up and that waiting area seat was free. I watched as Fung loaded my car into the hydraulic lift area and start the process of an oil change and inspection all by himself while greeting and addressing additional cars who showed up. Who showed up you may ask? Many more people than you would think on a random Wednesday on a street filled with many other mechanic shops. You can tell there is a reason customers come back to see Fung. As I waited there, he did the oil change and tire rotation for my car and a second car. In the mean while, 2 other cars pulled into the bay with questions/concerns. They came up to him like they had known him for a while. He addressed their concerns, ran quick diagnostics, and they paid him on the spot and left quickly. The car that had the oil change at the same time as I did had left, and a second vehicle replaced it. I was watching in awe at the speed of everything and I couldn't believe how quickly he was able to finish everything on his own. He also reset the maintenance light reminder on my car, which you would think is a given for any mechanic, but to be honest I have left a previous mechanic who did not reset it for me. I have never witnessed a more hardworking, honest guy. He finished an oil change, inspection, and tire rotation in about an hour and 15 minutes . At some point it crossed my mind that I wasn't even sure if he had time to grab a bite to eat or drink some water! He was so focused & efficient in getting the work done! He even helped me back my big car out into the busy street (I was having a little anxiety about how I would get back to the street which has a high amount of traffic both ways). When I got back into the car I noticed a few grease stains. One was from a different mechanic for an oil change, and another was noticeably newer. I asked Fung if he could wipe it for me and he came back with a citrus spray which took both small stains out. Wow! I have not experienced service like this before. My father recommended me to him and I was glad he did. I did not get much of a chance to speak much to him because he was so busy behind the hood or tire, but when I did get a chance to mention it, he did recall my father and the vehicle he drove. Just a tip: I recommend paying in cash and asking for a receipt (I do not think you get a receipt unless you ask for one, the exception being the inspection form confirmation from the state that prints out). You can tell he is excellent at what he does and charges fair prices. If you know nothing about cars like me, you will not be overcharged! I've not previously tipped a mechanic, mostly because I never saw the mechanic who worked on the car, but in this case it was much deserved. He was very appreciative for it as well. It's good to build a relationship with your mechanic. I can attest to how hard he works. I told him I would be writing this Yelp review too. So Fung if you are reading this: Thanks again ! I will be returning for many more inspections and tire rotations.
