My review is long overdue. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS for Justin Midas Movers! I will begin by saying I had a terrible moving experience years before. I made arrangements for a whole apartment move and the movers never showed. They called at 9PM that night asking if we could start. I was floored! REALLY?!? I told them not only was it ridiculous but impossible. Most of my stuff was going to storage, which had already closed. With one day left to vacate, I had to do a last second Craig's List hire. Worst experience ever. Ended up with a ton of broken stuff and missing items of value. Worst move EVER. Gave me serious "moving phobia". Fast forward to January 2016. We had two big moves. A full apartment w/ art studio in it, and second art studio, different location. All moving to a tiny, dead end, one lane street off all one way streets. I chose Midas not only because of response time to my inquiry, and being from Manayunk I figured they had plenty of experience with tiny weird streets. Midas was the right choice! I arranged my move well in advance, just in case. I pretty much told Justin about my moving phobia, and explained I was trying to plan ahead and get every duck in a row due to that seriously stressful mishap years earlier.. He was so perfectly professional & kind, I never imagined it was possible to find such a cool moving company after what I had been through! Of course, even with all my planning, Murphy's law had me schedule our apartment move the day of the blizzard in February 2016. Our tiny, one way street was simply PACKED with snow, never plowed by the city, ever. Not to mention the long driveway at our current apt impassable. We were only moving about 5 blocks, but all surrounding streets that had been plowed were a mess. Could hardly tell plows had even been down them, two lane streets turned into one, still covered with ice and snow, impossible to navigate. An impossible situation, I thought. I was afraid I would have to reschedule a whole month away if I missed my day and Midas ended up being booked up. Instead, Justin had everything under control. He did some "movers magic", and we were able to do our move only a day or so after the giant snowfall, still with snow on the ground everywhere. Justin and his team did an excellent job moving our whole second floor apartment, but negotiating the snowy, one way and no access road we were moving to like it was nothing! And the few roads in between were not much better, let me tell you! They did an excellent job. I could not have been happier. Everything worked out so much better for a post-blizzard move than I ever could have imagined. Everything was well taken care of, kept dry and packed carefully into the truck. Crew was able to get our bed through our second story window like it was old hat, given the new tiny stairwell was an impossibility. We were more than thrilled. Justin knew I had another move coming up but I had told him it may not be for awhile and would be in touch. I was not planning on moving the second studio for at least a couple months. A new tenant was found unexpectedly, so I had little time to pack and be out. Justin was able to schedule me in at hardly a moments warning, yet again, with that movers magic. Another hard move from a basement space with one back stairway access down a skinny easement. Mt Airy style. Even though I though it would be super hard and take forever, Justin and his team was able to make it happen, quickly and with no problems. As soon as I was packed and at very short notice so that the new tenant could be in as soon as possible, they got it done. Again, I was amazed. I had many large art related tools and supplies, and I remember my move into that space being so hard! Justin and his team made this move seem like a piece of cake, too, ESPECIALLY compared to the move in experience down that tiny easement years prior! Wish I had known of Midas when I moved into that spot years before. Would have saved a ton of backbreaking hard work and time, for sure. I'd certainly recommend Midas Movers to anyone. Justin not only didn't leave me hanging as another moving company did after placing my initial contact with Midas, but kept in great touch with me during the whole weather/blizzard thing, both before, during and after the giant snow so that everything could get completed as soon as humanly possible. Earlier than what I thought humanly possible, actually. I guess that was Justin's movers magic, again. Moving is stressful enough. Given the circumstances of my "move from hell" that gave me "moving phobia" and both my recent moves, between a blizzard and a last second arrangement, it could not have worked out better! Five+ stars for Midas! I'd use them again in a heartbeat, and still have another job that I will be calling about, hopefully sooner than later! And best of all, I am cured of my moving phobia, forever! And that's saying something, let me tell ya! :-) read more

Justin and his team were professional, flexible, accommodating and went far above and beyond any mover I've hired in the past. I had an incredibly hectic, last-minute move that was stacked between multiple obligations. I realized the night before my move that I had double-booked my day and instantly felt grateful that I'd decided to try Midas as Justin took time that evening to talk through the possibilities. He tried to find another time (which wasn't possible as his week was also fully booked). So, he brought his team to move my apartment without me having to miss my other appointment. He double-checked everything with me by phone, rolled with last-minute challenges (such as the key not working at the new apartment and an employee at the dump giving him a hard time for dropping off objects in a professional truck) and he managed to get the whole thing done in less than three hours without losing his cool. He even uninstalled the curtain rods and chandelier I couldn't reach myself. I came home to my new apartment that evening to find that all of my belongings had been safely and thoughtfully moved into appropriate rooms. I can't imagine any other mover ever would have done this, and certainly not for the incredibly reasonable price he charged. For the sake of this great guy and his great crew, I hope no one else puts them through a move like mine, but after that I know they will calmly and creatively handle any job large or small. Moving is a stressful activity and I can say with full confidence that Justin and Jeremy of Midas Movers alleviated a huge amount of my moving stress. I originally scheduled my move with Midas Movers for the end of July, but had an unexpected week off in between changing jobs and decided to capitalize on my newfound free time. I reached out to Justin on a Monday; I was fully moved into my new apartment by Thursday - talk about flexibility! Justin was exceedingly accommodating to my schedule and we worked out a date and time that suited us both. On the day of my move, Justin was communicative via texts and phone calls letting me know his exact ETA - this was especially helpful as I was packing up until they arrived. Justin and Jeremy were careful with all of my belongings and particularly thorough with inspecting my chaise lounge couch, which at first we thought needed disassembling to fit out the door. Thankfully, no disassembly was required, although Justin had to exert extra muscle power to get that monster on and off the truck. Having moved several times, including across the country, I've experienced my fair share of moving companies. Midas Movers is run by a guy who genuinely cares about his customers and the service he provides. The absolute best moving company I've ever hired. If you need a moving company, CHOOSE THEM. Very prompt!! When I seen these three skinny young guys come to my apartment on the top floor of a no elevator building, I thought that they would never be able to move all of my stuff. To my surprise they had a technique that made them look like body building movers. Lol. These guys were nice and extremely polite. My previous moving company were exactly the opposite. Always complaining about the the weight of stuff. They would even argue with each other. Not Midas Movers. They were not only polite with me, it extremely polite with each other. They were moving me on a very humid day during the height of the pandemic. That means they moved everything with masks on. I needed to move part of my apartment to a storage unit and the other part to another home where I was going to stay. They were wonderful about splitting the move that way. They even removed both of my televisions from the walls and placed the mounts and tv's back into their boxes. I will definitely be using this company for all of my future moves as long as they remain the same. read more

I was in a very stressful situation and needed a lot of help leaving my old apartment. Justin and his crew were miracle workers! Justin understood my needs and helped me plan everything. He found a caring, patient person to help me organize and pack boxes. They provided extra services - dropping off furniture donations to a second hand shop, taking bulky trash items to the municipal disposal site, and arranging for a rental van and driver to move my belongings out of state. Not only was every one in the team experienced, knowledgeable, and efficient, but also friendly, kind, and caring. My stress and anxiety melted away during the move. They made moving fun. In August, I moved from Philadelphia to Charlottesville, VA. Through a good friend, I heard about Justin and his Midas Movers. He came to my house to talk about what would be involved in getting my house packed and the truck loaded. Justin was so incredibly helpful in planning the process, and then when the day came to pack my house, he and his men were just amazing. Not only were they extremely professional and experienced, but they were pleasant and upbeat. They had everything packed in a few short hours. As long as Midas Movers exists, there is NO REASON why ANY PERSON should move themselves. I have used Midas Movers' services twice for back-to-back moves, and they are phenomenal. I am a single, young professional and I cannot claim to have disposable income, but I also refuse to ask my family and friends to spend an entire (well-earned) weekend to help me move my belongings from one third-floor bedroom to another. Seriously the best! We didn't have too much to move, but these guys were great. Professional, quick and precise, and they could not have been a nicer/more polite group of guys/movers. We are new to the Philly area and these guy made us feel even more confident in our decision to move here. One of their crew was running a little late (which didn't bother us at all) and they didn't start the clock until he showed up. I only want to praise these guys on here, not slam anyone, but if you're writing a bad review about them scamming you/ being unprofessional, I do not and would never believe that after hiring these guys. Justin and his excellent team made our move as painless as possible. We were clearing out our old huge Victorian twin after living there for almost 30 years and raising 6 children there, and Justin was expert at handholding and advising throughout the process. We had numerous conversations when I had decisions to make and time constraints relating to selling and buying our new home. He was available and very understanding and helpful. Last week my boyfriend and I hired Midas Movers to help with our move from two apartments in South Philly to one consolidated location. We came away incredibly pleased with the entire experience. Justin and the rest of his team did an excellent job! They explained in detail from start to finish what would be required and how much time they would need. We remained in contact from the day I hired them to the actual move date with questions and updates. When they arrived they wrapped all my furniture securely so nothing was damaged and were extremely careful with transport. I used Midas Movers to move from a second floor walk-up apartment to a third floor walk-up apartment. They showed up on time and took care with all furniture, walls and doorways. There were three of them plus a fourth who was being trained. They were fast and very competent. They knew exactly how to handle the move and the stairs. No one was a novice. Midas were hands down the best movers we've ever had, and we've moved often in the Northeast. We used them to move from one neighborhood to another in Philadelphia.
