Don't bring your car here trust me, I brought my older car in for an estimate and during the estimate they ended up breaking my linkage rod. Instead of owning up to it they just added that onto the estimate. My car is now not able to be driven and I'll have to buy a new one. An estimate ended up costing me my entire vehicle. Whatever you do find another shop. Inexperienced and dishonest technicians is all you will find @ the Winnetka Ave location. read more

I hate getting screwed by car repair places and auto dealerships. I have just enough knowledge to know that I'm probably getting ripped off but not enough to do the work myself. So my wife and I are delighted to have found this Midas location. The fact that it's near to our house was the original reason we took our cars there for routine stuff like oil changes and getting a flat tire fixed. But we go back now for all our routine and non-routine repair stuff. I won't go into the lengthy story of the issue I had with my '15 Mazda CX-5 engine coolant temperature sensors going haywire after the recent Polar Vortex -50 temperature plunge, but I will say these guys diligently hunted down the issue and got me going again. It wasn't free, but it was inexpensive and only what I needed, and I left with confidence in their work and in my car. read more

Brought the car in because it was overheating. We were charged $504 to replace the upper and lower radiator hoses +$85 for diagnosis and $130 for a radiator flush. The parts charges were $130 for the upper hose and $120 for the lower. The dealership offers these parts for $30 for the upper and $27 for the lower. A quick search shows the average cost for replacement of both hoses on a Hyundai Elantra is $270-$280. I did not comparison shop since I just wanted it dealt with quickly and I thought that I could trust this mechanic. I am disappointed. read more

Brought my car in because the heat shield was loose. They rigged it with literally a zip tie and described it as "repair and secure" which it is NOT. I have been taking my cars to Midas for 7 years now and can honestly say not once have we been unhappy with the service that we've received. Managers and mechanics have all been great to work with and our cars are ready when they tell us they will be ready unless parts aren't readily available. The shop doesn't inflate what needs to be done which is hard to find these days. Shop is always busy too because they do great work. read more

I brought my 2014 Outback in because my tail-lights were not working. Upon picking my car up, my auto start (that I had just used a few hours earlier)was not working. When I brought my car back to them about the auto-start, they denied they were to blame and made excuses for my auto-start not working. What made me irate is their refusal to just apologize and immediately fix it. They had my car all day and were all over it checking connections, yet it's not your fault my auto-start doesn't work?! Right.... I finally took my car to Mobile Installation Services in Brooklyn Park. They had it fixed (for free), literally, before I even sat down in their waiting room. Midas had accidently hit the off/off button on my auto-start, that's why it didn't work. That simple and they couldn't figure it out! read more

I've used their services a few times now and can't speak highly enough of the concise, fast and expectation exceeding service I've received. One visit was a number of repairs and routine maintenance (rear brakes) that was overdue, expecting the cost to be formidable, I received three estimates at three different price/quality points and the attached "pro's and con's" we're thoroughly explained. On another visit, for routine maintenance (front brakes this time), I found my already due oil change taken care and my awful old wiper blades replaced - neither of which showed up on the bill. Horrible! Horrible! I had a bad starter, had my car towed there, they put one in after a diagnosis that I had to pay for, and the starter was again bad. They then replaced that with another, yet another faulty starter, and now, after taking my car to the dealer, and determining that it was only a bad starter and not the car that was the problem, the company is giving me hell about getting a refund on the part only, after paying 220.00 besides for everything else! I brought my car to the VW dealership on 12-07 for an oil change and was told that there was an issue with my left axle, which I was unaware of prior. Since I had replaced both of my axles 10-07-14 ($571 total) at the Midas in New Hope, I returned there the following day, 12-08, and was was informed there is a 12mo./12,000 mi. warranty on the axles. It has been 14 mo., 1 day since the initial repair, but I only drove the vehicle 5,500 miles total the entire past year. I was told the part will be covered, but I needed to pay labor ($130). I wasn't too excited about that, but of course I paid. I picked up the vehicle that day at close, and while driving it home, it shook profusely and felt as if the whole wheel was going to pop off. I brought the car right back the following day, and was told that now it's the right axle, and will be another $130... WHAT?!?! My wheel never did this prior, and VW would have said there was an issue with the right axle on Monday. All I truly wanted was for this place to stand behind the work they did a year ago, oh, a and the prior day. But that's too much to ask. Nathan the manager was horrid- just stated I want something for free (umm- I've already paid you $700 and my car is NOT FIXED... what's free about that?!?). Actually they sabotaged my vehicle and made it inoperable. And, to make matters worse, the owner Sandy never returned my phone call. Just plain deplorable... Please read my next review. I arrived at Midas in Brooklyn Park on 12-10 who took care of the axle that was improperly done the day before at New Hope at no charge. And there shouldn't be... Very seldom do you come across a completely honest auto repair service, but I can honestly and whole heartedly recommend this Midas shop. I scheduled an appointment to have the front brakes replaced because Luther Brookdale Chev said they were shot and needed to be replaced. They gave a quote of $360. I brought my car in this morning. Midas did a complete check including measuring the pads and rotors. Guess what, everything was just fine and no work had to be done. They said to stop in next summer and have them checked again. BTW there was no charge for the check. I thanked them very much for their honesty. Don't go to Luther for service other than oil changes. read more

Even though I moved to oakdale I think I will still be going back to them they are awesome yeah its a drive but they are worth it! Fast friendly and they even will show you were and what the problem is with your vehicle they even took customer parts as well so when i needed a new muffler put on my friend's car and we called them up and told them we already had the part they were more then happy to put it on for him. They even took us out into their garage and showed us more problems that the car had after that he got ride of the car and got a new one since the frame on his old one was going. They are honest and straight forward they show you different pricing so you can choose what you can afford to get done. They don't use the Mechanic "language" when they talk to you they show and tell you straight forward whats up and they are not cryptic about anything. Great work guys keep up everything you are doing because you are doing a very good job at it! I totally recommend everyone who lives in the area near these guys to go to them they know what they are doing and doing it right the first time. read more
