We took our vehicle in to have the brakes checked. They quoted us $900 for front & rear. Said the rotors had hot spots & needed to be replaced, couldn't be machined. My husband took the rotors off himself & took them into O'Reilly auto parts who said they were fine to be machined & turned them for $15 a piece. He put the new brake pads on himself & the whole deal cost us $160. Quite a difference. It would have been $400 for them to do it if they hadn't lied about needing new rotors which jacked the cost up another $500. We would have happily paid the $400 to them to do the work rather than have my husband & son out doing it in 106 degree heat but now we'll never go back because we know they're dishonest. Unfortunate for them because we have 4 vehicles ranging from 2003-2011 model years which means they could have gotten a lot of business out of us. I'd give them zero stars if I could. read more

I had some specialty work that needed to get done on my car. I had Richie add Chrome exhaust to my existing pipes. The work was very time consuming and He really worked with me on the price. He explained everything that he did and the job came out great. I was very happy with the work performed. I had used them before when one of my exhaust hangers had busted and they had to do some welding to fix it and it came out great. Beware do not take your vehicle to the 83rd avenue and Peoria Midas or your vehicle will be damaged this facility treated my disabled friend horribly nasty disrespectful they would never answer his questions they damage his vehicle then the owner tries to cover it up and tell him that we have everything on camera well they should look on the camera and see the mechanic damage his vehicle then if he has it on camera and this is a very truthful establishment then it will show that the mechanic working on my friend's vehicle damage his vehicle how dare they do this to my friend when I was on FaceTime with him the whole time and saw and heard everything that transpired I will be a witness to anything that he needs or might as needs for proof of damage to his vehicle please make sure you fix my friend's vehicle or pay for an estimate for repair they damaged his wheel well his fender and paint the dented they slammed his door into a metal post on a car lift they also got oil all over his carpeting and all over his sun visor he's disabled and cannot clean these things or pay to have them repaired that was very unprofessional of this business to damage my friend's vehicle especially when they didn't know how to put the lifts under his truck as you could see for yourself on the camera they took at least 20 to 30 minutes to figure out how to put the list under the truck and they also been some metal under his vehicle and now his vehicle is squeaking and making noises all over the road and he's afraid that the wheel well piece the mechanic damage is going to fall off his vehicle how dare a business treat a disabled person the way they did I believe my friend said someone name Don yelled at him along with another mechanic because he was just trying to tell the mechanic working on his vehicle to cover his fender because the gentleman had a belt buckle that was scratching his paint then they put the oil filter in through the driver's side real well and took the wheel well material off and tore it this is just a very horrible experience for this gentleman and in the faith of God and professional business Midas needs to recoup the damage they did to this disabled gentleman's vehicle. read more

If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. They are SCAMMERS. I went and took my car in with a diagnostics code from the O'Reilly's next door, and they said they needed to run their own test which was 135. However, this test is NOT credited towards your repairs which is absolutely ridiculous. I have a 2007 Acura TSX and they found one spark plug and one ignition coil that was damaged. They quoted me for 946 DOLLARS (before taxes and fees) to fix 4 spark plugs and the coil. That was AFTER applying a military discount (which was only 10 dollars anyways, not the 10% that is advertised on the website). With only fixing the one spark plug and ignition, it was 430 dollars (plus taxes and fees, according to the manager). I went in there in the beginning by myself (a girl in my early 20's) and it is obvious that these people saw me as an easy target to screw over. The fact that they don't credit the diagnostic test towards your repairs tells you that this place is a SCAM. Absolute trash. And I don't like to say that about places. I don't even leave reviews for places but I couldn't let anyone else be scammed by this Midas like I was. I went to Sun Devil auto after going to this place and they fixed my issue for a grand total of 243.71. Want to know how much the spark plug costs? 18 dollars. Ignition coil? 140. Labor? 44. I got a breakdown of all costs through Sun Devil, something that Midas could not do. I even asked the manager of Midas what exactly the price of the equipment was and he said "I don't know, I just know the total that I told you." I don't know where Midas gets their extremely inflated prices from, but honestly, screw this company. DO NOT GO HERE. SCAMMERS. I cannot stress this enough! read more

We felt like we had been overcharged for a new a/c compressor on our 2014 Chevy Cruze and thought we wouldn't be going to back to Midas because of it. This morning, we noticed a leak of orange/pink fluid under the car. Figured we should at least let Midas check it out in case it had something to do with the recent a/c work. This turned out to be the thermostat housing completely separate from the a/c work. Doyle waited on us this morning. I told him how upset we were at being overcharged for our a/c compressor. Doyle did us a huge favor to make up for it...he did not charge us for labor today, only parts. Our complete price was supposed to be around $400 for parts. When we went to pickup the car, Doyle knocked more off the bill and we only ended up paying $317. We appreciate Doyle's customer service efforts and will be once again taking our cars to him when we are in need of repair. read more

Absolutely horrible service! I've always gone to this Midas location for years never any problem until they recently changed staff. My appointment was at 4 pm and when i arrived at the front desk there were three employees standing around talking to each other where they work on the cars. These three guys could see me through the glass window and never once did they say; I'll be right with you, NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT whatsoever! I was standing in the front waiting for over 10 minutes as they continued to talk to each other while they could clearly see me waiting there. Who does that??!! They were not busy, only one customer sitting in the waiting area and myself standing there. Wow! I'm disgusted in this locations service. I've got to give this place five stars! As someone who knows very little about cars, it can be very difficult to find a good mechanic shop that you can actually trust. Not only do they back up their words by literally showing you the parts on your vehicle that need to be replaced or fixed, they have the best attitude and always go out of their way to give me the best deal possible! I recently had some issues with my car very early in the morning. I was one of the first people there and even without an appointment they were able to get me in my way to work before noon and never made me feel like it was an inconvenience. A few months ago we had these fellas work on the brakes for our Nissan, they fixed us right up! Monday on the way home from work, my husband broke down in the same car. He decided to call this location even though it was far from where the car broke down because they were good to us & are close to home. The fellas here went above and beyond to help us this time. I booked an appointment on Sunday for Monday morning to get my oil changed. When I went in at my appointment time the guy working the front desk (come to find out it was the manager) was sitting in one of the chairs with his feet up and didn't greet me until I realized he had a Midas shirt on and I said I was there for an appointment. He then said they couldn't get me in because there were only 2 guys and 4 jobs and scheduled an appointment for today. I told him the year, make and model of my car and everything was good to go. I went in today for my appointment and they said they didn't have the oil for my car and couldn't change it. I had to get my mom to follow me with my 3 month old baby two days in a row only to be turned away twice. The owner of the store was there and when my husband called in he was extremely arrogant towards him. Do yourself a favor and find another place to go. This place is a joke. read more

This place has horrible customer service! I bought a Groupon for a synthetic blend oil change that I have been getting on my car for 6yrs. I was late to my appointment on Saturday (3/4/23.) The guy at the desk insisted on lecturing me on why he was not able to take me because I missed my appointment. I scheduled a new one for Monday (3/6/24) only for this jerk to tell me that he has to use synthetic oil for my car and I said I have never had to do that in all the years I have had my car. He told me we can't do synthetic blend and I said CAN'T or WON'T?? He said we aren't going to do it. I said I have a Groupon for synthetic blend, so what are my options and he was condescending by saying, "honey that's between you and Groupon." I told him he's a fucken DICK and left. I went to this location to get an oil change because it was close to me. When I called to make an appointment the guy was kinda rude on the phone with me. The next day I bring my car in there were two guys at the front desk but I still had to wait to be helped (even tho one of the guys was just sitting there). After doing my oil change I received a call that they found something wrong but I told them I have a personal mechanic I go to for parts and the guy who I learned was the manager got rude with me about taking it somewhere else. After all that I went to pick my car up and the guy who was the manager was sitting at the desk with food all over the counter. I had a coupon from there own website for the oil change but the guy didn't even look at it and charged me more for what the coupon was for. When brought to his attention he acted like it was our fault when in reality he didn't even look at my coupon. On top of all that he told me the owner of the store would contact me for a refund and I haven't heard anything! I was bullied into going here instead of the Toyota dealership by family. The estimate came in plus or minus a few dollars. Chose Midas because of the conventional wisdom that the dealership couldn't be trusted! Wrong! Midas came out $15 over the dealership even with a coupon. The response from the man at the desk at Midas was "Fine, just go there then!" I had no choice so I stayed at Midas but that was not a suitable response. I have no faith in estimates over the phone now and I think that I was lured in by an estimate that was deliberately not accurate. Midas if you want to stay in the game you should try to match price estimates of the competition. read more

They take the time to educate me on the services I need and why, and also offered me a courtesy ride back to work. Today, October 4, 2021 between 8:00 and 8:30am, my fiancé was returning (after receiving a quote on 10/2) and requested that the service man he spoke with service his car. An unidentified employee kept interrupting him while he was speaking to another man. In his defense, my fiancé said, "f...you, too." The employee in question went on to assault my fiancé by stepping forward and pushing his stomach on my fiancés stomach and threatened to kill him and did not have a mask on. He said, " I'll kill you and I will rip your face off." I am absolutely shaken because the manager walks across the street to summon an officer and stated that he wanted him off of his property AFTER he called the police on his cellphone. The manager never addressed the insults after my fiancé told him that he was threatening him. I also fear for the African American employee working there and general public. THEY ARE NOT SAFE. I feel that my fiancé was set up for a hate crime because he was assaulted by an employee appearing to be of Asian decent and the manager was appearing to be of Caucasian decent and the incident was not addressed in a professional manner. I hope that audio can be pulled for the cameras, too. Corporate is investigating and hopefully this want happen to another person. read more

I was concerned my brakes were rough but they inspected them and said they were just fine. I also asked about the differential fluid and they said it's not due for another 15000 miles. I've been going to Midas for several years. They have replaced brakes, shocks, water pump, as well as regular routine oil changes. The front office is always very friendly and accommodating. Their prices are always reasonable and have found them to be quite honest, never trying to "upsell" me. I went there today after hearing an annoying noise while driving. I purposely avoided taking it to the dealer, as I knew they would rack up my charges no matter what the issue. Shaun (front office) assigned his "exhaust guy" (never got his name) to the problem. An hour later I returned to get the prognosis (which I had been dreading) and found out that the problem was already fixed: a broken exhaust weld. They fixed it for "no charge" and sent me home smiling. This kind of service is typical at this Midas, as I have always been satisfied by their work and their customer service. read more

I came to this location after having another Midas work on my brakes and AC and not resolve either issue! When I came into this Midas and spoke with Jonah (I hope I am saying his name correctly, he is the manager) and he was not only able to resolve my issues, but for most of the work that was done at the other Midas Jonah covered under warranty!!! My AC was blowing hot air and my brakes were so bad that when I would hit the brakes, the steering wheel and the entire car would shake violently! When I arrived I explained my situation and the horrible experience I had at the other location, he listened and told me his plan was to look at it and see what he could find and we would go from there. He came back in no time and took me outside to show what he thought the issue was with my AC and to let me know that the machine was still running tests. He was pretty sure what the issue was, but he wanted to let the machine finish to be 100% sure. While we were there my tire was off my car and I could visibly see a really dark spot on the rotor, before I could say anything he went over and explained that the dark area was a high spot. He explained that because the dark area was higher than the rest of the rotor that when I hit the brakes it would have to jump over that spot causing the shaking. He told me I would probably need to replace the rotors and that turning the rotors probably would not resolve the issue (the other Midas did exactly that and charged me to turn a damaged rotor). After the machine finished with my AC, he was able to find exactly where the leak as at and oddly enough the leak was at the very top of the engine in plain site (he even showed me using the black light where the dye was leaking from). Best part of this was after being told that I would need to replace the entire AC system at a cost of more than $1500 by someone who obviously didn't due their due diligence, it was all covered under warranty! After they replaced the rotors and pads (pads were under warranty with the lifetime brakes), no more shaking or squeaking! All my issues were resolved for around $200 because of a honest mechanic that valued me as a customer more than the dollar amount that he could try to swindle me for, because of this I will continue to bring both of my vehicles to this location even though I live in Surprise and have to drive pass other Midas locations to get to this one. I even made sure to let the owner Mike know that Jonah helped me and my family and that he earned my business, being that I am the only income in my household and having a wife and 3 kids (wife is stay at home mom due to the cost of daycare) to support this was a blessing not having to pay for unnecessary repairs. This location actually cares about the people that come in, they makes sure to greet you when you come in and offer you water or coffee. They even have a cleaner bathroom than I have seen at some restaurants, these details that may seen unimportant to some is exactly why they have earned my business for life... As long as they continue to provide this level of service, transparency and honesty I will bring any and every car that I own to Midas Arrowhead!!! read more

Had an expired groupon that they probably shouldn't have accepted because they thought it was for the East Valley Midas locations. They did offer me a credit for what I paid for the Groupon towards an oil change just to be nice, changed my oil promptly, even showed me an air filter that needed to be replaced without a high pressure sales pitch saying that I could die if I don't replace it, but that they simply suggest it be changed. They put proper air pressure in my tires also. Highly recommended since the honoring of the groupon isn't the standard greediness and price gouging that one would expect from an auto repair facility and likely reflects the quality of work they offer as a whole. read more

HIGHEST RATING IS NOT HIGH ENOUGH I typically trust auto mechanics about as much as I trust AC guys because they usually get to take advantage of a customers lack of knowledge. I am comforted to know that my long held perception of dishonesty in the industry has been blown out the door as soon as I walked into this Midas shop and met Paul. I've found Paul and his team at this particular Midas honest and trustworthy and in most cases, I've found that their pricing takes a lot of my incentive away to try a repair myself to save money.
