Jason and Roger were amazing. We took a car in for a pre-purchase inspection. Unfortunately, several problems came up with the car. The good news is that we were able to use that as a bargaining chip when we negotiated the price of our car (and fortunately, we were later able to get a lot of it covered under warranty). I appreciated their offer to bring us back to the shop to hear the audible problem with the rear wheel bearings and the see the dirty oil that needed a change (among other things). We felt confident returning to the dealership to bring all of this up, and they knocked several hundred dollars off what we'd already negotiated. We came here because it was open on a Saturday and we didn't want someone else to buy the car. They were fast and so thorough. I trusted their opinion and am happy with my purchase in the end. I can't say enough good things about this particular Midas. I had gone over to Vancouver to get a synthetic oil change offer that I purchased from Groupon for Precision Tune Auto Care. What a rip off place. They wanted to charge me for services that I didn't need and the ones that I did need were inflated $$$ plus very unprofessional. I had an issue with their manager especially, who got an attitude when I asked if he could check my emergency brake to see if it needed to be tightened plus I now know all about his medical conditions that he shared with another customer in the lobby weather I wanted to hear about it or not. Their only saving grace is Sarah. There assistant manager. They are lucky to have her on the front lines. I decided to take my car over to my local Midas shop for a second opinion where it was confirmed that my suspicions about Precision Tune Auto Care were correct. Midas made it right and was very clear about what work needed to be done and at a fair price. I know a little about cars and know what I'm willing to pay for what services that I can't do myself or don't want to do for various reasons. I'm a firm believer in YouTube videos. I've saved a ton but sometimes it's best to take it to a shop that has the proper equipment and backed by a guarantee. Bottom line. These folks have earned my business and the parts that they use are of good quality with a lifetime guarantee on the brake pads. It's also nice that you are able to watch the work as it's being done and check out the parts that are being installed so you know what your getting. I believe in full transparency. i just had the rudest guy "help" me there. i've been coming to this midas for over a year now, they serviced my RV when i couldn't afford a major RV repair place, so i thought that was great. but every time i was dealing with the assistant manager, gavin, he was awesome. friendly, helpful, knowledgable. the guy i encountered today was outright RUDE. he told me they wouldn't fill the brake fluid because of a liability, after a second, i said "it seems like MORE of a liability for you not to fill it." i didn't say it rude, i just said it like a thought. his response, "it's not up for discussion." and walked away with my keys. so i yelled, "hey i want my keys back." and he said, "i prefer that actually." what a great way to lose a repeat customer that has spent hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars there. i am NEVER going here again. what a jerk. *also, i had my four year old son with me, you'd think somebody would be less of a jerk in front of a kid. apparently not. read more

Thieves and liars. Three visits to their shop and I had to go elsewhere to have fixed what it turns out THEY broke. A call to their warranty center was met with stammering silence when I told them the other shop fixed me up for a TENTH of what they wanted, and showed me the broken parts as he was removing them. Parts they had supposedly worked on initially. Oh, they 'worked' on them alright. Simply incredible. Run far away. read more

Took my car into the Halsey location in portland for a estimate for repairs on my exhaust after I had inspected it myself to find the problems. told them I needed a muffler and repair the leaks where the exhaust meets up with the manifold pipes. They took it into shop to inspect and told me the catalytic converter was bad and leaked where catalytic converter pipe joins to exhaust pipe and that muffler was good just needed welding. (catalytic converter was replaced less then 50,000 miles ago with regular maintenance as my car has always been kept up on) The muffler was rattling inside ( good?) I asked to go back to show them the leaks I had found but was only told he would show me the problem and was not interested in looking at what I had found in my inspection. I told him I did not need the catalytic converters and that they were not that old. He told me the car was running rough and needed them. yes it ran rough, A loose spark plug wire was the cause of that. Fixed that when i got home. He told me if I knew what was wrong why didn't I fix it myself. I told him if I had a garage to work in I would have. He was very rude and then told me to get out of the shop and not come back when I was not going to let them replace the most expensive part on the exhaust that did not need replacing. I would be afraid to take my car to this shop in fear that they would do more damage then good and cost me more then it should. read more
