after waiting 45 minutes... I was told I would have to wait another 10-15 to be seen even though it was well after my appt. time. Customer service was anything but friendly. When my service was done, I was quoted a price $27 more than I was quoted when I called. My receipt states I declined white glove service when I was never asked about that. The store sign on the street quotes my oil change at $69 but they charged 89.99. They will take every penny they can from you with no remorse. AVOID this place. I never even saw my old filter or any proof of oil change that others provide. I'm actually scheduleing a check up to make sure they didn't totally screw me over. CAN'T trust this place. read more

Fraud fraud fraud. I went to Midas for oil changes. After my vehicle was done, the manager (she) told me my car has a lot of unsafe concerns I have to attend to. I told her I will do it later. She told me it will cost me $4000 in total to repair it, and I said no. When I tried to pay for it, I presented my debit card. She asked me for my card security code. I asked why; she told me it's company policy. Later, she told me it didn't go through, and I used my credit card. To my surprise, both went through. The next day when I went there, I met another manager and asked him about the total amount for the repair of unsafe concerns. He told me it is not possible to know the amount because they have to diagnose the problem first before they know the cost. Today I found out that my credit card was used for unauthorized changes of $878. I used my card only at Midas Springfield. Be careful. read more

Use of many years but I am tired of getting ripped off. Today was it. They charged $100 of a spark plug, just the part and not labor. Then they replaced a cabin air filter without asking. Took my car in for brakes and rotors. They told me my car needed approximately $5,000 worth of additional work. Their "courtesy check" said there was wear on the tires and I needed an oil change. But I had gotten the oil changed less than 2 hours ago and the tires were less than a week old. So I know they were lying to me. Beware! Take your business elsewhere! read more

Midas 740 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA 19064, United States On 11/20/24 we discovered a leak in our RAM 1500 truck. We dropped on the truck to Midas in Springfield who diagnosed a cracked thermostat housing. Midas replaced the housing for $672.17 and we drove 4 hours into Virgina when my truck overheated and was leaking coolant. I was stuck on the side of the road in rural VA. I added coolant and made my way to Williamsburg where Williamsburg Automotive confirmed that the thermostat housing was filled with an excessive amount of silicone sealant used to install the new housing. The excessive sealant that Midas used was even coming through the weep holes. Williamsburg Automotive had to replace the thermostat housing which I paid an additional $345.64 (see both attached invoices.) I also have the housing Midas installed. I called Midas in Springfield 2x's and stopped by with the housing and both the bill from the competent shop and the bill which was more than double from Midas. I was told someone from their Reginal office would contact me but that never happened. THESES GUYS ARE CLUELESS! Go to a real automotive shop and save yourself money, tow expenses and a headache of dealing with subpar work and ZERO customer service. read more

I'm 48 years old and I've literally never written a YELP review, but sometimes the service is just that bad. My wife dropped off her car last night for an 8 AM oil change appointment this morning. She called at 10 AM this morning and was told her car was in the bay. I went to pick it up at 4 PM and the manager - Bill, I believe? - said it hadn't been started yet. I left, and when I got home, called Midas to see what time it would be ready. During the call, I explained that we'd left the car last night, and had an appointment for 8 AM, and asked how it hadn't even made it into the bay yet. Yes, I was a little irritated. When I walked in to pick up my car, he came in from the garage. Despite the fact that they'd lied about our car being in the bay at 10 AM and had disregarded the 8 AM appointment time, I had every right to be irritated. BUT, as soon as Bill came into the shop and, I began to apologize for my tone on the phone. He literally chucked my key on the counter, and as I was apologizing said in a sarcastic tone, "Have a nice day," and began walking away. I said, "I'm trying to apologize and you're just gonna interrupt and throw my key on the counter?" He then barked at me that I'd been rude on the phone. Hey. I'm really sorry I got irritated that a) You disregarded the 8 AM appointment, b) you lied about my car being worked on at 10 AM, c) still weren't done a simple oil change 6 hours after you told my wife is was getting worked on, and d) that I apologized for my own irritation. Unbelievable. If it were possible to give a lower rating than 1 star, I would. I literally tried to apologize to this clown for my irritation with their quantifiably crappy service, and he gave me even more attitude. Never going back. read more

Two years in a row they charged over $2,000. Last year I sat in the waiting room for 6 hours. This year I have been in the waiting room and my car is still in the parking lot. They haven't made any effort to get work done on my car. Only here for inspection and oil change. Guess they are formulating a way to charge me $2,000 again. Well the car had minor tire problem , and it was working fine . So took my car for check up . And they said my battery is dead. And it will cost me 1000 dollars to fix it. . Let me tell you , the car was fine and all. The battery was also brand new. So I have no idea how a brand new battery can die within a matter of 15 hours , right after dropping that in the shop! My experience 8/20/21: on arrival, I stood at the front desk for about 10 minutes while an employee named "Kenny" refused to acknowledge me from behind the window of the work area. Once "Kenny" finally decided he would acknowledge me as a customer, the experience was eye opening. I told "Kenny" that I just had a few quick questions about my Mercedes if he had a second. "Kenny's" response was "clearly you can see that I am busy and I don't have a second. Take a card (business card I assumed?) and make an appointment" He continued: "And if you're referring to the Mercedes out there (on the parking lot) We can't do anything for you. Take it to the dealer". Even though my vehicle has been serviced at this location in the past and Bill (Manager) was very helpful. The reason for my visit on 8/20/21 was to simply ask for a little air in my tire and to get a price quote on 4 new tires. If "Kenny" would've took the time to use his communication skills, he would've known this. Definitely lost a customer here. My family and I will not be returning to Midas. I WOULD NOT recommend going to this location unless you're ok with being subjected to deal with "Kenny". Hire better staff Bill. read more

Don't you hate that feeling of being ripped off when you visit an auto repair facility? It's one of the very best ways to have a bad day! That's the very reason I've been visiting Midas shops for years. Thursday I visited this shop for the first time. My brake light was on. I had visions of big $$$. The friendly mechanic (Mike King?) took care of me. Off came the wheels and an inspection showed a very minor problem. $20 later I was out of there and the pesky brake light was out. The great thing about Midas is that this treatment wasn't a surprise. Over the years I've visited several locations and have always been treated fairly. read more

The manager, Greg was very pleasant and explained things well, but I wound up sitting there for 117 minutes for a 1 hour oil change (actually more because I came in early.) The place was very busy when I came - but I managed to get an oil change and they replaced a burned out headlight & tail light. I went to get a new water pump installed through my Warrenty. The sales guy Kenny seemed pretty cool but he was a fast talk and the type of salesman that'll try to sale everything even if that's not something that you need done to your car. I asked him why is he trying to do more and please just help we with getting a new water pump in my car. This guy said sure and I could pick the car up tomorrow. Once the guy called my warranty company he told them that I need all types of other things that had nothing to do with what I want there for. I went there to get an oil change. Was told that the gasket to the oil pan was cracked and that it would be $200 to fix. So I went to my dealer because car was under 3 years old. Dealer charged me because the gasket wasn't cracked, the guys at Midas did NOT put the washer back on. Dealer said I should get reimbursed by Midas. Guy at the counter was like, "Congratulations your car is fixed! What do you want me to do?" Such an a-hole. They would have happily taken my $200+ dollars had I not taken it to the dealer and they were completely dishonest. read more

The absolutely positively biggest crooks I've ever associated with and I was born and raised in south Philly. Replaced a battery that didn't need replacement. (Came in cause the engine stalled on my charger ie misfire, fuel distribution or sensors) the battery was merely dead from sitting with an interior light on overnight a charge would of had it back to life in a couple hours of course they cored my Battery which 100% was/is my property for an extra 20 petty dollars (and to cover their tracks). The owner (who was bragging about having 3 boats to me cause he seen my rods strapped to the ceiling) mentions my alternator to me when he called me which blew my mind, cause he never got the engine TURNED OVER. I pull up to figure this out, and before I get out of my rental the owner flys by me hops in his truck and leaves. Leaving his employee on the hook to deal with me. His cowardly behavior speaks volumes to the character of man he is, and the integrity of the business he runs. Imagine how many uniformed people he's taken advantage of. (I'd guess about 3 boats and a vacation homes worth, but hey who am I to judge. While writing the review the police pull up to me (I am 3 blocks away and called them along with the employee) and with a sh*t eating grin he asked me to extend him the courtesy of not getting it towed tonight so he don't get another TIME WASTING CALL. (I must of forgot to mention I swiped MY keys off the desk when the employee was looking at his computer) . Anywho I'll be taking my car to a reputable repair facility that won't try to rob you while smiling in your face. I asked if I would be out of there in an hour since I had to be back to work and they assured me all would be wrapped up in 45 - 60 minutes. With my coupon, it should have cost $40. 3 1/2 hours later, I drove out with a bill of over $1100, with a lot of work done. Was everything on the long list actually needed? Maybe. Was everything I paid for actually done, in only 90 minutes after my approval? Maybe. The atmosphere was pleasant and friendly, and the work was done promptly. Took my fiancés car to get brakes worked on today before we were to drive up to Pittsburgh. Got us in right away, that wasn't an issue. Had all of our work talked over and went over the price, and everything that was to be done. Took a few hrs to complete all which is understandable. The issue we had was when the the mechanic went for his test drive he came back with a coffee from Wawa. So he took our car to get a coffee 15 minutes one way. How unprofessional can you be?! You're in someone else's vehicle you should treat it with respect. It's not a joy ride for your convenience. I was in shock. Never again. read more

I make the effort to get there & when I arrive at the desk, Greg tells me it will be an hour n half wait. With an appointment!? Yup. Who has an hour & half wait WITH AN APPOINTMENT to waste? The service has been decent. But, now I feel as though they are unreliable. Now I have another appointment Thursday morning. Got Lured in here by $39.99 PA state inspection coupon in the mail. Not worth it! I have a 6 year old Toyota Camry in good condition with 92K miles. They failed me on safety inspections saying I had "wiggle" in my Sway Bars and "leaking" struts. Quoted over $700 to fix these problems. Ok. Fair enough. Maybe. They went on to recommend over $400 of UNNECESSARY repairs including: -cabin air filter (recently replaced. No, it's no longer WHITE, but quite functional) $35 (available for $10 on Amazon) -Power steering system flush (Not recommended by manufacturer.) -fuel line flush (no fuel problems, just "maintenance") When I said I did not want repairs there and I would be looking for a second opinion, the manager berated me in front of others in the the office, raising his voice and becoming confrontational. I had to PAY for my inspection, which they failed me on anyway, and left. Totally unprofessional. UPDATE:: After posting this review, the same manager who I mentioned above contacted me, and provided a Free oil change voucher and $30 cash refund for my inconvenience. read more

I had major work done about 6 months about (engine remounted) and since the car is running better than it has in years. They're always friendly here.
