In…read more2021 I had the Timing belt replaced at a cost of approximately One thousand dollars. 4-30-2024 I took it in for an oil change and was told their records indicated I needed a timing belt that they did 6-22-2021. I advised them that when I also realized they were charging me 2.99 for record retention. I was told that by the service manger it's to pay for the cloud. Well yesterday I took it in for fluid flushed rear and transmission. I was advised in a video their records indicated I needed a timing belt. I called and they said they had no record of it being done so I brought them in the original invoice from 2021. I had a very nice discussion with the General Manager who assured me he put it in my records. To add insult to injury with their 2 time computer mistake I was charged the 2.99 for record retention. I think they need to pay me for my record retention. It's not the 2.99 but I don't think that should be placed onto the customer. It's an operating cost for them. As you can see it's not worth 2.99. Please review your records before going to this dealership. I would have put out over 2500.00 of unnecessary work. Will be using their competitors in the future. No trust left after 13 years. Be ware.!!!!

They have *always* been fair and trustworthy. Before using Vanderveer, I had used various garages up and down Route 9. I'm sure that in those days I sometimes (often?) ended up paying for service that wasn't needed. But at Vanderveer Pete explains my options, and always tries to save me money. The expertise of Pete and his mechanics is unequaled. Here's one example, of many: Recently I had a check engine code on my 2002 Honda which said the problem was caused by a faulty distributor. But Pete described an experience he had many years ago where similar symptoms were caused by the alternator. He offered me the choice of replacing the distributor or the alternator. Having been impressed with Pete's expertise in the past, I went with his suggestion of replacing the alternator. That did the trick. The car ran great after that. The fact that the car had the original 18 yo alternator helped to make it a pretty easy choice - I had been thinking of replacing it just out of caution. But the fact remains that Pete was right in his diagnosis. You don't get that level of experience or expertise at just any garage. Along the way my gas tank was found to be leaking (I bought the car without a pre purchase inspection) and the way they helped me out that day was amazing. They expertly diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and seeing me sit there for hours hungry while waiting for the part to arrive, went to extreme measures to help me out! Leo and Gilbert and the rest of the crew have been nothing but accommodating, professional and went above and beyond to give me some of the best customer service I've ever had period! After getting my tints done by Gilbert a few weeks ago, I had him do the ceramic coating and they gave me an awesome deal. Before I took it back in for the ceramic coating, I had ordered some new side markers that I thought I would've received before the appointment so I could install them before the ceramic coating was done, unfortunately the markers came in the day I took the car in. I figured I'd hit up Leo to see if they could install them for me before the coating was done and they were nothing but gracious and told me they'd do it no problem.
