I have been going here for many years for my oil changes/tire rotations. It is under new ownership and their goal is to drive revenues by upselling you anything and everything. Last two visits for an oil change resulted in three (3) torn CV boot covers on two (2) separate vehicles one of which was less than four (4) years old. I will never go back. I feel like everyplace I went for an oil change with my ten year old Lexus and being a women I was getting over quoted , I know prices . Had the car ten years and being new around here I kept looking around . Thank God I did , this place is no joke . The were about 60-70 cheaper and did not try to up sell me . I got my daughters car worked on Monday & check Engine light tripped, they figured out "there" mistake & fixed it the next day happily & free of charge. as some of the reviews I am reading, I too just went for brakes & other things to be checked & were honest about my brakes (not needing) them right now. Unlike "Holiday service center" who would rather have gotten me once; Midas seems truthful & would rather get you for life. I've been using this Midas for many years and always found them to be to be honest although rather overpriced on parts. Recently i brought my daughter's car in with tires that were wearing badly, figuring she needed an alignment. They informed me that she needed new control arms and the price was $800 per control alarm plus labor and a few other things bringing the total cost to $3000 I took her car to the dealer that where we bought it from they put on new tires for her and informed me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the front end. I then took it to another business for the alignment and same result nothing wrong With the front end and they aligned the car for half the price that midas wanted. They're either completely incompetent or they tried to rip off an 18 year old girl. Either way I will not be patronizing this business anymore. read more

I brought my car in to have my bakes inspected for the first time at 71000 miles. They took the pads off to show me that they were still good and that the rotors were fine. I have brought my other vehicle here a few times and they are always honest and professional. read more

Had gone to My Lester Glenn dealership for basic service and they told me I needed back brake pads, xfer case oil change, and brake fluid drained!. Thought the brake pad price was high so went to this Midas dealer to compare and their price was reasonable to asked Brian to go ahead with the brake service. Lo and behold after pulling the wheels off they came back and told me, nothing wrong with the pads at this time and had plenty of mileage left on them! Will definitely return the this Midas for service. Honesty hard to find these days. read more

Went here yesterday because I desperately needed my brakes done since they were constantly squealing as I drove. They called me after they evaluated my car and said my front brakes looked totally fine and I just needed brakes and rotors on the back. I felt they were very honest because I had gotten my front brakes done last year at a different place so I shouldn't have needed them done and they never tried to say I needed all 4 done this time. They had the work done very quickly and I felt the price was very fair and in fact less then places I've been to before. They were all so friendly and helpful in person and on the phone. I have been a loyal customer since I moved back to Pt. Pleasant in 2012. Yes, I drive all the way from Pt. Pleasant to Midas in Toms River to get get my car serviced! They are a wonderful group of people. I cant say enough about how well they have treated me. My AC wasn't working so I brought my car to them. They hooked it up to their machine to diagnose the problem. Turns out there is a slow leak in the compressor. Now right there, a dealership and most other shops would tell me the whole thing had to be replaced for well over $1000. This is where Brian, Mike and the staff show their integrity. They explained the problem and how to fix it. The leak was not bad at all and they suggested charging the AC system and see how it holds up. I will eventually have to replace the compressor, but I didnt have to do it right away. They gave me the choice. As a woman who has been ripped off by dealerships because I trusted them, I put my trust and faith in the Midas in Toms River competely. I will always take my car there and know its in good hands. read more

I went to Midas for a routine oil change and I had a coupon for 19.95. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told they would not honor that coupon but would do the oil change for 24.95. I agreed. Time passed and the mechanic came in and told me there was an additional charge of 20.00 for a special oil filter. I should have ran but did not. I stuttered that the dealer never charged me extra and got a shrug. I ended up paying 45 dollars for an oil change, much more than the dealer charged all while trying to save a few bucks. So sorry I went there. Back to the dealer from now on. Lesson learned. read more

Amazing shop!!!! I live in Massachusetts and was driving to visit my parents in Lavallette. On the way down my car started making a horrible noise and I was sure I needed a new muffler. I couldn't go home without dealing with the problem so I found myself at the Tom's River Midas. After they took a look they showed me that it was simply a broken bolt that was needed to secure some undercarriage plate above the exhaust system. They replaced the bolt and DID NOT CHARGE ME. I was stunned. Sure it only took a few minutes to fix but I figured just putting the car on the lift was worth a charge I would have gladly paid. If I lived closer I would give these guys as much business as I could. Their honesty and integrity should be rewarded. From chatting with the other customers in the waiting area I could tell that they had many loyal customers. There's a reason for that. These folks are great! read more
