Instead of explaining options, I was pushed toward buying a new tire. When I declined, the employee Daniel Pena became dismissive and had an attitude. The tone shifted immediately once I said I didn't want a replacement. I didn't feel respected as a customer and chose to leave. Very unprofessional experience. I recently went to Midas for an oil change and tire rotation, and when I returned to pay, they told me the technician had noticed scratches on my driver-side fender. When I went out to look, there were large, obvious scratches--including a clear "X" mark--that definitely weren't there before. I was told they would review the video footage, but when they called me back, they claimed they didn't see anything. Every morning, I walk past the driver's side of my car and know exactly what it looks like--there were absolutely no scratches when I dropped it off. When I picked it up, the damage was clearly visible. I'm leaving this review to warn others: if you go to this Midas, take detailed photos of your car before you drop it off, and make sure they know you did. This is one of the few (if not, the only) auto repair shop in the Orlando area that can honor an Interstate car battery manufacturer warranty. After my battery died on me one day, I decided I would show up the next day, bright, and early, even if my car started on its own to get the battery checked out. I got friendly quality service at 8 AM with a smile even despite their computer systems being down. They checked my battery, reviewed replacement options and had me out of there in less than an hour. My new battery came in at around $185 with a $20 discount from the previous battery and comes with a 30 month replacement warranty. I value any place that makes things easy for me, particularly when it's something like car troubles (that I don't have much knowledge on). This Midas shop refused to honor my $30 conventional oil change coupon because at some time in the past I used full synthetic oil in my car. The oil currently in the car that I wanted changed was conventional oil put in by a top dealership where I purchased the car. I made it clear they were replacing conventional oil with conventional oil but they didn't want the "liability". They did offer me a full synthetic oil change for $93. Is this a classic case of bait and switch? I thought about going with a synthetic blend but the "liability" could have put everyone into shock. I came here for an oil change because the regular place I go to was booked out weeks and I needed my oil change done before my road trip. Midas' price is a little higher than my classic Mazda, but I was able to be seen the same day, and there is a wonderful First Watch I got to eat at that is literally right next door. By the time I finished my food, they called me and my car was ready. It took only about 45 minutes. So overall I would recommend this place if you need an oil change fast. read more

The man representing this store at the front today (April 10, 2020 at 8:30am) is a terrible representation of customer service. I came to get my car "inspected" for my insurance and he took entirely too much pleasure in correcting me from the "photos" I apparently requested and abruptly cutting me off to tell me 3 times that they do not take pictures of the cars because it's not needed in Florida. Ok. Sir. There is a way to speak to people and you aren't cutting it. Especially in today's climate and this early in the morning. I have been purposely avoiding getting out of the house to keep myself safe and he's the first experience I have out of the house?! Shame. Now my whole mood has changed. Then, with 3 cars in their bay that NOONE seemed to be working on, he proceeds to tell me that it's going to be an hour to do the inspection and he'll call me up when it's my turn. In an empty lobby?! Ok. #facepalm No awareness of his tone, his actions, his words. No acknowledgment on his part. I've worked too long in customer service to NOT know better. Since we are a nation of people who live in their cars it is sometimes necessary to stop and have their oil changed. So when it came time for my SUV to be serviced, I took notice to Midas' Thursday special. One day of the week they treat women to a special deal: a $16.99 oil and filter change. Normally they charge $25 so on Thursday you can save a whopping $8. It was worth waiting all week for though. The associate at the desk was extra nice in our interactions. When I called to setup an appointment she let me know that they don't require them but will take them if it makes the customer happy. In essence, you may have to wait a bit longer if you just walk in off the street. Making an appointment gets you a leg up in the same way call-ahead seating does. If I had to wait there I would have entertained myself by watching the TV or reading one of their magazines. They also have a water cooler and vending machine in case your wait time runs into meal time. They offer many other maintenance and service options if you need more work done than just an oil change. They mentioned a few things that my car may need soon but were not pushy about selling their services which is always appreciated since I was in a hurry. read more

Yesterday I went to get my transmission flushed. When I arrived I was given a ride home while my vehicle was being worked on. A couple hrs later I got a call from Ken who said the truck was ready. The flush was 150. Bucks plus 100 to get the filter replaced also. They sent a car to pick me up. When I got back to the shop the truck was ready and they even fixed a little problem with my shifter. The computer spit out a different total but Ken fixed it quickly. I drove the truck and so far it rides like a dream. Rick was the technician. He was friendly and to the point. I have been a patron of this location for more than 5 years. On my most recent visit I found there was a new team and new management. I threw my oil change receipt in the trash after telling them I didn't need a receipt and being forced to take it. The new manager then took the receipt out of the trash can and put it on my windshield! Unbelievable. Both running boards on my truck were damaged by a careless mechanic who didn't lift it by the frame. I'll try Firestone or Action Gator Tire next time. read more

This place charges a lot for dangerous service. As I write this, my dog is panting uncontrollably and I am sweating through my shirt. This morning I did what I believed prudent prior to a road trip and went to this shop to get an oil change and tires rotated. They talked me into a new battery and brake pads. Bear in mind that the car worked fine until this visit. Two hours outside Orlando and the car died. Two guesses as to which lights are flashing on the dashboard. Did you guess battery and oil can? Good job! I would also accept hazards as correct as they are also on to help semi trucks from hitting my car while on the side of the road. I have enough water for me and the pooch until the tow truck arrives. At least my skin will look great after this sauna session. **** My car ended up being towed to the Midas on Main Street in Gainesville. The staff at their sister store is much friendlier and far less sexist. Turns out that my engine seized and died. I will either need a new motor or a new car entirely. Had my passenger side caliper sieze. Limped it to a near by Firestone. They tell me I need new everything. I call bs. Then they tell me calipers, rotors, pads, and lines on the front. I tell them I just want the caliper they told me siezed replaced. They tell me that is against their policy to not do both sides. It's their POLICY TO SELL CUSTOMERS PARTS THEY DO NOT NEED OR WANT! So I play along, asking the damage. These jackals tried to charge $1,011 for pads, rotors, and calipers on the front. I laughed and said, but no really, how much is it ask if they price match, they said yes. Called Pep Boys, $800 for the same job. Called Midas, $650 for the EXACT same job. Call Firestone back. They tell me they need to see that quote. So I call Midas back and ask them to fax the quote. They do and Firestone says they never got it. So Firestone calls Midas. Not sure what happened on that call, but Rick from Midas calls me back so angry, he asks what he can do to steal my business from Firestone. After this whole deal going on for 5 hrs I demand Firestone get me a rental car to get home since their policy is either charge me double for labor and parts I don't need OR send me back on the road with an unsafe vehicle. The next day, I get the quote to Firestone and his price is still over $1000, so they just simply DO NOT PRICE MATCH. I return the rental car, drive my vehicle 18 miles to Ken Falco at Midas who gladly fit me in before they closed, told me Firestone lied to me about everything they assesed. My back brakes were totally fine, as well as my pads, and rotors on the front. I only needed to replace the caliper. I ask what he would charge for the calipers, rotors, and pads that Firestone wanted $1011 for. Midas did the job, with higher quality parts that have lifetime warranties, for $635!!! Shame on Firestone. Who knows how many people they have lied to and up charged who didn't know any better. If you have money to burn or love being taken advantage of and lied to, check a Firestone near you. I am a reluctant fan of Midas Auto Systems Experts. This was my first experience with Midas in general, and it was okay. I am giving them four stars instead of three because of how nice the employees are. Mechanics and dentists are just hard for me to trust though. I know nothing about what they are doing to me and I just have to take it. I had just got the oil changed over at a place in Casselberry and my brakes were squeaking. They recommended Midas, so I gave them a shot. They took care of me right away, but my car still made noise a couple days later. I took it back and they solved the problem, but it just didn't sit right for me. It's hard for me to give them a good rating but they did fix the noise, and the employees were very nice. Again, I know nothing about cars and when it comes to price, I have no clue what's fair. It felt like I was getting ripped off, but they might have been on point.
