I bought an 11 year old 17' Four Winns Horizon from Dodo Brockman, late August 2011. I'm new to boats so I followed my gut in regards to trusting him. He assured me that the engine was primo and the boat was in great condition. He offered a sea trial but I passed on it and opted to just pick up the boat because I was almost out of Summer and wanted to get it into the water. He assured me that the engine was tip top shape and that he would fix the trim indicator when the part came in. He also offered to do the Fall winterization. I couldn't be happier! I managed to get it into the water 4 times before it got too cold and discovered that Dodo is a man of his word, the boat is awesome, it's like new (amazing for an 11 year old boat) and he came through as he said he would on the trim. It runs very nicely and it is in like new condition - as he said it was. He obviously spent some time and money waxing it and assuring the engine and the boat are in top condition. He winterized it in October and did the trim work he promised. I'm very happy with the boat and with Freeport Boat Outlet. Good people. Dodo does what he says he will do. You can trust these guys.

All was agreed to and he had a place for our boat, took our name and contact info, gave us a verbal confirmation (I felt we should have got it in writing...) showed us our spot where he would put the boat and asked up to call in September, which we did. All continued to be as agreed to, emails with specifics dates, times, confirmations on transport from haul out at Finest Kind were made with all parties, mast storage accommodated, prices etc. were in email. Yesterday, this late in season 9/19/19! after all arrangements had been made and confirmed with all parties in good faith, John emailed us that "they'd made a mistake and could not store out boat this season." This leaves us without a place to store out boat as we approach the haul out date. There are no other locations that can accommodate us at this late time. I'm shocked and amazed that this has transpired this way as I like to provide service business to small, well run local businesses. I just wanted to give others a heads up that this happened with this business and to have a back up if you do have arrangements with them. After much planning, responsible, respectful and polite communications, to have this happen at this late date, or at all, is pretty bad business. Let the buyer beware on this one. Thanks. :(

This is not a professional way to handle a claim. After reviewing the images, a reasonable next step would have been to invite me to their office to examine the damage directly, but that did not happen. I provided screenshots from a video clearly showing scratches, yet they continue to deny responsibility without offering any in-person assessment. They are relying on video footage taken from far away, on a wet surface, which barely shows the scratches. Anyone with basic understanding would know that wet surfaces and distance obscure fine details like brush or scratch marks--these are only visible up close. I requested an address to bring my car in and show the damage in person, but they have not provided that either. At this point, the issue is not only the damage to my vehicle, but also how dismissively and irresponsibly my claim has been handled.

I store the boat and motor home there and that is convenient they wrap and I have had no bad issues at all. I had problems with my motorhome that I had a number of people look at and it was not resolved and the mechanics at Ponce were eventually able to resolve it and my motorhome runs great now and I mean great I could not be more pleased. You can feel confident that they will do the best they can for you maybe not always perfect but they'll take care of things. They also maintain my boat trailers and have even had work done on my truck. The staff was incredible starting with Mike Soucy working with me to secure a boat for the week that we needed it, after securing the dates the communication was amazing as they reached out multiple times via phone calls, text and email keeping us updated on everything that we needed to know to include an online safety test so that we were 100% familiar with the boat and the rules governing the pond or lakes that we were on days before we actually got to camp we received a phone call from a gentleman by the name of Ben this is another staff member at Port Harbor Marina he told me that he would give me a call a day before we would arrive and let me know where the boat would be dropped off and let me know a member of the Port Harbor Marina staff member would meet us the day that they drop it off at the boat ramp insure enough that morning they called us to let us know that they were on their way and that they would meet us there we get out to the boat ramp just as they were backing down I met up with Nate another member of the team at Port Harbor Marina he went over the entire boat with me asked me if I had any additional questions showed me where all the life preservers were and once again asked me before I actually took off for the boat if I had any additional questions I shared with him that I did not and I appreciated him going over everything with me he said that someone would call day before it was going to be picked up just to double check in on everything and make sure that we were still on sure enough on June 30 I received a phone call from Ben letting me know that he would meet me at around 445 at the same boat ramp that they dropped it off at.
