I placed a telephone order for a large pizza with 4 toppings which I picked up myself. I was astounded that it cost $43.80. when I got home I called to question why it was so much. i had checked the website and it quoted a price of $18 for a large pizza and $1.50 for each topping. the person who answered the phone said that must be an old website and the actual cost is $22 for a large pizza and $4 for each topping plus tax. The pizza was cold because they didn't keep it on top of the oven and the Toppings were very sparse. (I got 3 and a half pieces of black olive and 2 pieces of sausage on my slice). I called Thursday night for an eggplant hero. I told them NO parm and not to toast the bread. I arrived to pick it up and checked it. It was smothered in mozzarella cheese. They took it back and made me a new one, it looked ok. I get home there was no cheese which was good but the bread was toasted and the eggplant was cool at best. I ordered the chicken cutlet cheesesteak hero. It was $20 which in my opinion is overpriced for it not being steak. I normally get the meatball parm hero which is a 10/10 and wanted to try something different . The glaze the cutlet had on it was extremely salty ! Tasted like a pound of salt. I am so very angry if you want a nice meal and courteous service DON'T go here. I suggest that you go anywhere else I would suggest going to McDonald's, burger king Wendy's anywhere is better than that place. They are not very polite people. They don't greet you in a polite manner.. I spent like $30 I am a disabled veteran and that's a lot of money for me. Not only that I ordered 2 garlic knots and neither had a kid on them. The sausage and peppers order was all over the place. They should have used two containers instead of the one because the lid came off and spilled all over the bag. Not only that but my father ordered a chicken parmesan dish for me that was supposed to come with fettuccine but they forget it. Had to go back for it, when I got back I said that I thought the chicken parm was out upside down. He was like no I didn't you must have dropped it. He never apologized for forgetting the pasta. Nice spot. Good pizza, nice staff, and clean. The place could use updating and actual parking spots. I was surprised to see random non staff people milling around in back where the pizzas were being made. That didn't bug me much. What lowered my rating was the delivery guy rushing to the car that was parked much too close to the door. This was the first pizza I had after moving to Long Island from another state, it was the day after I'd moved in. Working next door to this establishment for more than 18 years it's almost disturbing tonight how I heard this owner talk about their employees. Usually I'm not one to write negative reviews, I'd rather just leave it alone, but after constant mess ups, always late and the way the staff speak about/to customer is horrible. Where I grew up the customer is always right and tonight was unacceptable. When there is two different things on the menu with different names there's no reason for the owner to explain to me they're the same thing. They're not. Ordered and picked up pizza here a few times and have been pretty happy so far. Not out of the ballpark memorable but decent and I would continue to order if I have the hankering. The pies always arrive fast and hot but not too thrilled that there's a delivery charge. Oh well, c'est la vie. I'm a humble graduate student that works near by. On Fridays for lunch a bunch of us go out for pizza. Our go to spot has been closed as of late (perhaps permanently), so we were in need of a new locale to meet our needs for Friday pizza. Middle Island Pizza has potential. It's not particularly ground breaking, or awe-inspiring, but it's pretty good. The prices are about right ($4 for a specialty slice) and they offer a wide array of slices, sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes. I haven't heard my co-workers complaining about the salads or sandwiches as of yet, so I would imagine that they too are well received. The specialty slices are big. I've gone twice now, and both times, every slice that we got seemed like it was that one mythical "bigger than all the others in the pie" slice. We've yet to find it's corresponding "this still counts even though it's only 3 bites" slice, so it is possible they have managed to create a normal sized pizza whose slices are more than the total pie. One "warning", occasionally they'll have a stuffed meat pizza (which is pretty delicious), right between the other slice pies, but perhaps unbeknownst to you, that is not a $4 slice, that's more like a $5.50 slice. And you do not need two, no matter who you are. The method of counter service at Middle Island pizza may make you feel a bit rushed/hurried, so be ready to know what you want when you step up to the counter. While I have no real complaints about the pizza here, I have no real "this is better than elsewhere" type comments either. It's good. If you look forward to eating pizza on Friday for lunch, this place will more than adequately meet those criteria. read more

The saddest of sad. Grumpy barely knows where to start. The glass pizza case was a case study in sad. I wont say that the pizza was old, but what looked like a buffalo chicken slice had an AARP sticker on it. It gave a new meaning to Grandma slice. I wish i knew the Italian word for microwave, because they used one on our stuffed mushrooms. Grumpy can tell the difference between fresh and delicious and microwaved and gross. Stay away from them if you like things that taste good. We could go on if we wanted, but we all know that there are better pizza places around that could use your business. I ordered through Uber, the Uber order was correct but the receipt on my order was wrong. We paid $87 and received one dish! When I called, instead of checking to see if they could have made the error, they hung up on me, said the Uber driver must have stolen our food. This was not the first time they were nasty and rude when they made a mistake with an order. Absolutely terrible service. I ordered a chicken club for delivery while at work. I work less then a half a mile from middle island pizza. The chicken club arrived an hour after I ordered and the chicken was and it had no cheese on it like I requested. I called to explain the situation and the guy said "okay i dont understand how its cold" and then he just hung up. I called back to try to speak to a manager and the guy told me "GUY STOP CALLING ME" and then hung up again. Very rude. The delivery driver Anthony is great though. The workers here are really nice. The food is always hit or miss. Sometimes the eggplant is great sometimes it tastes old. The regular pizza is good but again sometimes I get a great pie other times it's just ok. The rolls could be so good but 75% of the time it's still raw inside.
