Garlic Knots - served hot and brushed with garlic butter, and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Excellent!
    Chris C.

Stopped by as I passed the strip mall where this pizza joint was located. Did a quick check on my benchmark cuisine (garlic knots and vodka sauce), and stopped in as per the stellar reviews for same. Sometimes I am bitterly disappointed, but this time I was not! Tale of the tape: Garlic Knots I got them hot to go, and witnessed a procedure I've never seen before in garlic knot preparation. After a few minutes in the oven, they were brushed with a combination of garlic butter and parsley, after which a sprinkling of parmesan cheese was applied to all knots in the tin! Whoa! The knots are large in size, have a light crisp and an airy texture which I've never experienced before in a garlic knot. The garlic flavor is definitely present, and overall I am impressed enough to give these knots a very good to bordering on greatness rating. I would definitely buy them again! Chicken alla Vodka slice Again, given the positive ratings, I was fortunate to get the last chicken vodka slice in the case. The crust is amazingly light and airy, despite its half inch thickness. The chicken is plentiful, and has a decent amount of vodka sauce among it . . . Perhaps the only part of the slice that comes up short is the mozzarella on top, but it doesn't take away from the goodness of this slice. The sauce is creamy and savory, enough for me to be enthusiastic about ordering a vodka pasta dish from this pizza restaurant.

Went today for the first time . Very delicious . I saw a Detroit style pizza thay caught my eye and it was amazing . Grandma style was very good too . It's rare to see places on Long Island that have Detroit style . And this place has Detroit AND New York style . Highly recommend the meatball parm slice .

Trash. Horrible pizza. Threw most of it out, and not a friendly person in the place (even the new girl). Almost $10 for 2 slices. Looks like nobody cares enough about the place to clean up either. Left this place and went to Pizzaiola for lunch I didn't have to toss.

    Just a good plain slice

Excellent plain cheese pie! Never got to try the specialty pies but I judge my pizza places on the traditional NY pizza. And they do this right ! Good cheese that's not watery like some places have. Nice doughy crust that's a bit thick for my taste but it a good crust nonetheless.

"OK" is the most apt description I have of this place. Generally, the idea of buying a salad when I…read morecould make my own isn't the most appealing to me, so the salad has to be great or at least good. My wife thinks the salads are great. I think they are good. So why not a 4 or 5 review? Because this place really overcomplicates things--and I can't quite figure out why. There 6 or 7 people working at any given point. It's actually kind of funny watching because there are usually 2 who don't know where to stand or what to do. But they make you fill out a form and then, more times than not, THEY ASK YOU INFORMATION THAT YOU JUST GAVE ON THE FORM! YO! C'MON! I imagine that the form idea came around in the name of efficiency. But this is asinine, and this is either one of those solutions for a problem that doesn't exist... or it is a solution that is implemented very poorly. But the best (worst) is today when the form is filled out that I want the salad chopped and the dressing on--and the person asks me if I want the dressing on--and then the salad comes neither chopped nor dressed! All the while, there are all these people handling my salad and form (because, as I said, people need to find something to do), and no one bothers to double-check?? Wouldn't that be a good use of a person?? So, this place is OK. The salads are good or better. But the processes are odd, if not a little funny.

I ordered a Build Your Own Bowl with all my favorite things and it was yummy enough. I wanted a little more flavor and in retrospect, should have asked for a little more lemon juice. It tasted like it was left out but I didn't mention. Pro tip: If you like your salad chopped, I recommend you ask them to chop it smaller. My friend ordered hers chopped and it was barely chopped. So I was glad I was able to intercept mine before it was prepared. I don't like it finely chopped but I like the lettuce to be bite-sized, not big pieces. I mean, what's the point of asking for it chopped? Lots of options for add-ins. Most of my friends liked their salads too. Space was lovely, super clean, and the manager who helped us was great. I wish I got her name but she had impressive biceps. Looking at the photos of The Greenery in Sayville, you could say the Islip location is an annex. It's a much smaller space with seating for about 13. I wish the Greenery much success in my neighborhood. Solid eatery for fresh salads, bowls and smoothies. I hope they might participate in 2 Good to Go. :)

If you're like me, but live in Suffolk County, Metro on Main is on my personal Top 3 Picks! Their GF crust is made from cauliflower and is imported from Italy-how can you beat that?! We were told they had a great bingo night and fantastic food and drinks. That proved to be an excellent recommendation. The Wayward is located in the heart of the quaint village of Sayville. It is a spacious establishment with a large bar, plenty of tables as well as booth seating . We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender Brian. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the food and drink choices. He took the time to note our preferences within the dishes offered. It was apparent to us that Brian and the 2nd bartender Meg were extremely hard working, friendly and efficient. We started with a few drinks. Nothing fancy. I had a rum & coke and my wife went with Prosecco. Both were good. For dinner I went with gnocchi with chicken sausage in a pink cream sauce Absolutely fantastic! The kicker was the large dollop of fresh mozzarella on top. My wife chose the Chicken Milanese with roasted potatoes . She noted that the chicken was pan seared, breaded , moist and delicious. She opted to get it without the tomatoes and onions that accompany it. The potatoes were amazing. (I snagged a few so I can confirm this!) Deliciously seasoned, crispy on the outside moist and creamy on the inside. The bingo was also great! Chris was a great host. The prizes were great , although we didn't win anything. All in all a great night! A pleasant change of pace . We fully recommend The Wayward whether it for bingo night or dinner and drinks . Fantastic atmosphere, great food, great service.

Not a lot of parking out front, but there is a rear entrance you can use that has a much bigger parking lot for your ease. Service was decent, we got forgotten about once right off the bat, but once we got things straightened out staff were helpful, kind, and attentive. Starting off with drinks, I had tried their gingerbread old fashioned and their boozy coquito. The old fashioned was nothing special, but I did enjoy the little gingerbread man it came with. The coquito on the other hand was very tasty, albeit a little bit boozier than I expected, but I don't often mind a heavy pour. Next up for food, starting with apps, I tried the pretzel which comes with a cheese sauce and mustard on the side. Just as good as you'll find it at any bar serving it up these days. For entrees, I had their signature burger and tried a bite of my girlfriend's steak sandwich, and she definitely came out the winner. Burger was good, but nothing that made it standout much from other good smash burgers. The steak sandwich though was cooked well and didn't all just pull out on the first bite, which to me is the key indicator of a good steak sandwich! Was overall a nice dinner and I'd certainly like to comeback and try more of the menu and I've often been tempted to stop by for their bingo nights, they always seem to have awesome prizes.
